Abstract

The ultrametrically injective hull TX of an ultrametric space (X, d) is investigated by viewing it as the space of ultra-extremal functions over X. It turns out that the ultra-extremal functions are also ultra-Ka?etov functions, satisfying two inequalities derived from the strong triangle inequality. We shall compare the ultra-extremal functions with some classes of functions defined with the help of one of the two inequalities from the definition of ultra-Kat?tov functions. We shall consider the question of when separability of the space of ultra-extremal functions is preserved.  相似文献

We consider manifolds over a local algebra A. We study basis functions of the canonical foliation which represent the real parts of A-differentiable functions. We prove that these are constant functions. We find the form of A-differentiable functions on some manifolds over local algebras, in particular, on compact manifolds. We obtain an estimate for the dimension of some spaces of 1-forms and analogs of the above results for the projective mappings of foliations.  相似文献

We give a group theory interpretation of the three types of q-Bessel functions. We consider a family of quantum Lorentz groups and a family of quantum Lobachevsky spaces. For three values of the parameter of the quantum Lobachevsky space, the Casimir operators correspond to the two-body relativistic open Toda-chain Hamiltonians whose eigenfunctions are the modified q-Bessel functions of the three types. We construct the principal series of unitary irreducible representations of the quantum Lorentz groups. Special matrix elements in the irreducible spaces given by the q-Macdonald functions are the wave functions of the two-body relativistic open Toda chain. We obtain integral representations for these functions.  相似文献

Recently a new basis for the Hopf algebra of quasisymmetric functions QSym, called quasisymmetric Schur functions, has been introduced by Haglund, Luoto, Mason, van Willigenburg. In this paper we extend the definition of quasisymmetric Schur functions to introduce skew quasisymmetric Schur functions. These functions include both classical skew Schur functions and quasisymmetric Schur functions as examples, and give rise to a new poset LC that is analogous to Young's lattice. We also introduce a new basis for the Hopf algebra of noncommutative symmetric functions NSym. This basis of NSym is dual to the basis of quasisymmetric Schur functions and its elements are the pre-image of the Schur functions under the forgetful map χ:NSymSym. We prove that the multiplicative structure constants of the noncommutative Schur functions, equivalently the coefficients of the skew quasisymmetric Schur functions when expanded in the quasisymmetric Schur basis, are nonnegative integers, satisfying a Littlewood–Richardson rule analogue that reduces to the classical Littlewood–Richardson rule under χ.As an application we show that the morphism of algebras from the algebra of Poirier–Reutenauer to Sym factors through NSym. We also extend the definition of Schur functions in noncommuting variables of Rosas–Sagan in the algebra NCSym to define quasisymmetric Schur functions in the algebra NCQSym. We prove these latter functions refine the former and their properties, and project onto quasisymmetric Schur functions under the forgetful map. Lastly, we show that by suitably labeling LC, skew quasisymmetric Schur functions arise in the theory of Pieri operators on posets.  相似文献

We study p-adic multiresolution analyses (MRAs). A complete characterization of test functions generating an MRA (scaling functions) is given. We prove that only 1-periodic test functions may be taken as orthogonal scaling functions and that all such scaling functions generate the Haar MRA. We also suggest a method for constructing sets of wavelet functions and prove that any set of wavelet functions generates a p-adic wavelet frame.  相似文献

We describe sets of partial Boolean functions being closed under the operations of superposition. For any class A of total functions we define the set ??(A) consisting of all partial classes which contain precisely the functions of A as total functions. The cardinalities of such sets ??(A) can be finite or infinite. We state some general results on ??(A). In particular, we describe all 30 closed sets of partial Boolean functions which contain all monotone and zero-preserving total Boolean functions.  相似文献

We consider the collection of functions of one quaternion variable which can be expressed asG(Y) whereY is a real-valued quaternion function andG is a differential operator which corresponds to the gradient of real variable theory. Integral theorems for such functions are given, together with necessary and sufficient conditions for a function to be a gradient function, in terms of its Frechet derivative. The extended complex analytic functions, the Fueter functions, and the momentum-energy density functions are seen to be gradient functions which correspond to biharmonic, harmonic, and wave functions respectively.  相似文献

Let AK[x 1,..., x n ] denote the polynomial ring in n variables over a field K. We will classify all the Gotzmann ideals of A with at most n generators. In addition, we will study Hilbert functions H for which all homogeneous ideals of A with the Hilbert function H have the same graded Betti numbers. These Hilbert functions will be called inflexible Hilbert functions. We introduce the notion of segmentwise critical Hilbert functions and show that segmentwise critical Hilbert functions are inflexible. We study different classes of Jensen measures for plurisubharmonic functions, in particular the relation between Jensen measures for continuous functions and Jensen measures for upper bounded functions. We prove an approximation theorem for plurisubharmonic functions inB-regular domain. This theorem implies that the two classes of Jensen measures coincide inB-regular domains. Conversely we show that if Jensen measures for continuous functions are the same as Jensen measures for upper bounded functions and the domain is hyperconvex, the domain satisfies the same approximation theorem as above. The paper also contains a characterisation in terms of Jensen measures of those continuous functions that are boundary values of a continuous plurisubharmonic function.  相似文献

We consider local properties of smaple functions of Gaussian isotropic random fields on compact Riemannian symmetric spacesM of rank 1. We give conditions under which the sample functions of a field almost surely possess logarithmic and power modulus of continuity. As a corollary, we prove a theorem of the Bernstein type for optimal approximations of functions of this sort by harmonic polynomials in the metric of the spaceL 2(M). We use theorems of the Jackson-Bernstein-type to obtain sufficient conditions for the sample functions of a field to almost surely belong to the classes of functions associated with the Riesz and Cesàro means. Abstract

A function f is said to be iteratively convex if f possesses convex iterative roots of all orders. We give several constructions of iteratively convex diffeomorphisms and explain the phenomenon that the non-existence of convex iterative roots is a typical property of convex functions. We show also that a slight perturbation of iteratively convex functions causes loss of iterative convexity. However, every convex function can be approximate by iteratively convex functions.  相似文献

We study a construction of the bent functions of least deviation from a quadratic bent function, describe all these bent functions of 2k variables, and show that the quantity of them is 2 k (21 + 1) ... (2 k + 1). We find some lower bound on the number of the bent functions of least deviation from a bent function of the Maiorana-McFarland class.  相似文献

We construct spaces of real functions of n + k variables that are isometric to spaces of real functions given on an n-dimensional Euclidean space. We present certain properties and examples of delta-like kernels used for the construction of isometric spaces of functions with different number of variables. We prove certain assertions that enable one to construct delta-like kernels with many variables by using delta-like kernels with smaller number of variables. We give a short proof that in a convex minimax optimization problem ink dimensions there exist a subset ofk + 1 functions such that a solution to the minimax problem with thosek + 1 functions is a solution to the minimax problem with all functions. We show that convexity is necessary, and prove a similar theorem for stationary points when the functions are not necessarily convex but the gradient exists for each function.  相似文献

We show that nontrivial convolution operators on certain spaces of entire functions on E are frequently hypercyclic when E is a normed space and when E is the strong dual of a Fréchet nuclear space. In this paper, we study a new class of functions, which we call (ω,c)-asymptotically periodic functions. This collection includes asymptotically periodic, asymptotically antiperiodic, asymptotically Bloch-periodic, and unbounded functions. We prove that the set conformed by these functions is a Banach space with a suitable norm. Furthermore, we show several properties of this class of functions as the convolution invariance. We present some examples and a composition result. As an application, we prove the existence and uniqueness of (ω,c)-asymptotically periodic mild solutions to the first-order abstract Cauchy problem on the real line. Also, we establish some sufficient conditions for the existence of positive (ω,c)-asymptotically periodic solutions to the Lasota-Wazewska equation with unbounded oscillating production of red cells.  相似文献

This paper studies the spaces of Gateaux and Frechet Operator Differentiable functions of a real variable and their link with the space of Operator Lipschitz functions. Apart from the standard operator norm on B(H), we consider a rich variety of spaces of Operator Differentiable and Operator Lipschitz functions with respect to symmetric operator norms. Our approach is aimed at the investigation of the interrelation and hierarchy of these spaces and of the intrinsic properties of Operator Differentiable functions. We apply the obtained results to the study of the functions acting on the domains of closed *-derivations of C*-algebras and prove that Operator Differentiable functions act on all such domains.We also obtain the following modification of this result: any continuously differentiable, Operator Lipschitz function acts on the domains of all weakly closed *-derivations of C*-algebras.  相似文献
