This paper briefly reviews the techniques of moiré interferometry as they are practiced in the author's laboratory and demonstrates their potential for revealing U and V displacement fields for analysis of damage in composites. The surface crack is a common flaw in structures and vessels, and its elastic characterization has been studied extensively as reviewed in Ref. 1 and its references. Elastic-plastic fracture-mechanics (EPFM) technology can be used to characterize surface cracks in tough materials. Two EPFM aprameters are commonly used: the crack-tip-opening displacement (CTOD) and the three-dimensionalJ integral. This paper draws on a series of studies2–11 at the National Bureau of Standards related to the development and verification of analyticalmodels for the calculation of EPFM parameters in surface-cracked tensile panels. The models previously verified for pipeline steel plates4–7 are used to calculate the crack-mouth-opening displacement (CMOD) andJ for surface cracks in welded-steel specimens.  相似文献

On the basis of the concept of finite element methods, the rigorous analytical solutions of structural response in terms of the design variables are researched in this paper. The spatial trusses are taken as an example for the solution of the analytical expressions of the explicit displacements which are proved mathematically; then some conclusions are reached that are useful to structural sensitivity analysis and optimization. In the third part of the paper, a generalized geometric programming method is sugguested for the optimal model with the explicit displacement. Finally, the analytical solutions of the displacements of three trusses are given as examples.  相似文献

本文在文献[1]的基础上加以推广,分析了在均布外压作用下复合材料三角形网格加筋圆锥壳体总体稳定性,考虑了蒙皮的正交拉弯耦合效应和加筋筋条的偏心效应.基于外压实验观察结果,通过选择恰当的位移分量表达式,本文利用Galerkin法获得了临界外压的近似表达式,并对某一C/E复合材料三角形内网格加筋圆锥壳体的临界外压值进行了理论计算,所得结果与实验值相当吻合.文中所得结果可供工程应用参考.  相似文献

Three displacement functions are introduced to represent each mechanical displacementaccording to the 3-D theory in this paper,By expanding the displacement functions and the electric po-tential in orthogonal series,the free vibration equation of piezoelectric cylindrical shells satisfying SS3boundary conditions can be obtained.The equation was solved by utilizing Bessel functions with com-plex arguments.Results are presented graphically as well as in table,and compared with those of otherreferences.Some frequencies that were missing in Ref.[9]are discovered.  相似文献

The method is very efficient by applying extended Schwarz principle integrated with the analysis of the singularity of complex stress functions to solve some plane-elastic problems under concentrated loads, in Ref.[1], this method is used to deal with the elastic problems of homogeneous plane. In this paper, it is extended to the case of dissimilar materials with co-circular cracks under concentrated force and moment. For several typical cases the solutions of complex stress function in closed form are built up and the stress intensity factors are given. From these solutions, we provide a series of particular results, in which two of them coincide with those in Refs. [1] and [6].  相似文献

In this paper, we apply fixed pansystems theorems to study when a fuzzy transformation has a nonzero eigen-fuzzy set. Many necessary conditions and sufficient conditions are obtained. Furthermore, the properties of nonzero eigen-fuzzy sets are investigated, and the results presented in Ref. [4] are extended.  相似文献

A high-magnification moiré interferometer, particularly suitable for near-tip field analysis in cracked materials, is described. It has a submillimeter field of view, a high-resolution image sensor (1.4 million pixels), X-Y-Z translation stage and an optical fiber light delivery system. These features enable the microscope head to observe the crack tip while the specimen is loaded in a standard tensile test machine. Automated fringe pattern analysis, using temporal phase shifting and spatial phase unwrapping, enables thex ory displacement component to be measured and the corresponding in-plane strain component computed. The displacement placement accuracy is better than 40 nm, and the effective strain gage dimension is ∼ 25 μm. Furthermore, the interferometer has a built-in white light microscope that allows the observation of the specimen granular microstructure in exact registration with the displacement field. The interferometer has hence been employed to investigate the near-tip fields of a precracked stainless steel specimen under load. The influence of the grain boundaries on the measured displacement fields was relatively minor. The near-tip strain field shows a significant asymmetrical behavior despite pure mode lloading conditions.  相似文献

The axisymmetric elasticity theory of cubic quasicrystal was developed in Ref. [1]. The axisymmetric elasticity problem of cubic quasicrystal is reduced to a single higher-order partial differential equation by introducing a displacement function, based on which, the exact analytic solutions for the elastic field of an axisymmetric contact problem of cubic quasicrystalline materials are obtained for universal contact stress or contact displacement. The result shows that if the contact stress has order −1/2 singularity on the edge of the contact domain, the contact displacement is a constant in the contact domain. Conversely, if the contact displacement is a constant, the contact stress must have order −1/2 singularity on the edge of the contact domain. Assuming that the free energy depends on the deformation gradient and the spatial electric field, we derive the expressions for the Cauchy stress tensor and the spatial electric displacement from an observer invariant quadratic form of the free energy via the strict definitions of these quantities. Specific forms of the Piola-Kirchhoff stress tensor and the material electric displacement are then deduced and linearized in a particular sense. As an application of the resulting theory, we formulate the problem of an electrically driven disc within the context of the classical bending theory of thin plates. The material of the disc is assumed to have at most the symmetry of a hexagonal system of classC 6v.The resulting coupled differential equations for the axial mechanical displacement of the middle surface and the material electric potential indicate that the problem is not empty. This result is of particular interest in view of the fact that it is generally held that the classical theory of piezoelectricity does not permit such couplings to occur.  相似文献

This paper deals with the research of accuracy of differential equations of deflections.The basic idea is as follows.Firstly,considering the boundary effect the meridianmidsurface displacement u=0,thus we derive the deflection differential equations;secondly we accurately prove that by use of the deflection differential equations or theoriginal differential equations the same inner forces solutions are obtained;finally,weaccurately prove that considering the boundary effect the meridian surface displacementu=0 is an exact solution.In this paper we give the singular perturbation solution of thedeflection differential equations.Finally we check the equilibrium condition and prove theinner forces solved by perturbation method and the outer load are fully equilibrated.Itshows that perturbation solution is accurate.On the other hand,it shows again that thedeflection differential equation is an exact equation.The features of the new differential equations are as follows:1.The accuracies of the new differentia  相似文献

This paper establishes spatial estimates in a prismatic (semi-infinite) cylinder occupied by an anisotropic homogeneous linear elastic material, whose elasticity tensor is strongly elliptic. The cylinder is maintained in equilibrium under zero body force, zero displacement on the lateral boundary and pointwise specified displacement over the base. The other plane end is subject to zero displacement (when the cylinder is finite, say). The limiting case of a semi-infinite cylinder is also considered and zero displacement on the remote end (at large distance) is not assumed in this case. A first approach is developed by considering two mean-square cross-sectional measures of the displacement vector whose spatial evolution with respect to the axial variable is studied by means of a technique based on a second-order differential inequality. Conditions on the elastic constants are derived that show the cross-sectional measures exhibit alternative behaviour and in particular for the semi-infinite cylinder that there is either at least exponential growth or at most exponential decay. A second approach considers cross-sectional integrals involving the displacement and its gradient and furnishes information upon the spatial evolution, without restricting the range of strongly elliptic elastic constants. Such models are principally based upon a first-order differential inequality as well as on one of second order. The general results are explicitly presented for transversely isotropic materials and graphically illustrated for a cortical bone.  相似文献

Many physical experiments have shown that the domain switching in a ferroelectric material is a complicated evolution process of the domain wall with the variation of stress and electric field. According to this mechanism, the volume fraction of the domain switching is introduced in the constitutive law of ferroelectric ceramic and used to study the nonlinear constitutive behavior of ferroelectric body in this paper. The principle of stationary total energy is put forward in which the basic unknown quantities are the displacement u i , electric displacement D i and volume fraction ρ I of the domain switching for the variant I. Mechanical field equation and a new domain switching criterion are obtained from the principle of stationary total energy. The domain switching criterion proposed in this paper is an expansion and development of the energy criterion. On the basis of the domain switching criterion, a set of linear algebraic equations for the volume fraction ρ I of domain switching is obtained, in which the coefficients of the linear algebraic equations only contain the unknown strain and electric fields. Then a single domain mechanical model is proposed in this paper. The poled ferroelectric specimen is considered as a transversely isotropic single domain. By using the partial experimental results, the hardening relation between the driving force of domain switching and the volume fraction of domain switching can be calibrated. Then the electromechanical response can be calculated on the basis of the calibrated hardening relation. The results involve the electric butterfly shaped curves of axial strain versus axial electric field, the hysteresis loops of electric displacement versus electric filed and the evolution process of the domain switching in the ferroelectric specimens under uniaxial coupled stress and electric field loading. 对于较厚复合材料弯曲问题,已有锯齿型厚板理论最大误差超过35%。为了合理地分析较厚复合材料弯曲问题,发展了准确高效的锯齿型厚板理论。此理论位移变量个数独立于层合板层数,其面内位移不含有横向位移一阶导数,构造有限元时仅需C0插值函数,故称此理论为C0型锯齿厚板理论。基于发展的锯齿理论,构造了六节点三角形单元并推导了复合材料层合/夹层板弯曲问题有限元列式。为验证C0型锯齿厚板理论性能,分析了复合材料层合/夹层厚板弯曲问题,并与已有C1型锯齿理论对比。结果表明,本文的C0型锯齿厚板理论最大误差15%,比已有锯齿型厚板理论准确高效。  相似文献

This paper introduces a new two-degree-of-freedom (dof) parallel manipulator producing two translations in the vertical plane. One drawback of existing robots built to realize these dof is their lack of transversal stiffness, another one being their limited ability to provide very high acceleration. Indeed, these architectures cannot be lightweight and stiff at the same time. The proposed parallel architecture is a spatial mechanism which guarantees a good transversal stiffness. It is composed by two actuated kinematic chains, and two passive chains built in the transversal plane. The key feature of this robot comes from the two passive chains which are coupled to create a kinematic constraint: the platform stays in one plane. A stiffness analysis shows that the robot can be lighter and stiffer than a classical 2-dof mechanism. A prototype of this robot is presented and preliminary tests show that accelerations above 400 ms−1 can be achieved while keeping a low tracking error.  相似文献

On the basis of the medical and mechanical analysis and explanations in this paper the visco-elastic simply supported beam model is proposed to treat the displacement wave of the blood vessels. The relationships between the displacement wave and blood vessel elasticity as well as the viscous dissipation of the blood and blood vessel are obtained. The corresponding relations of such kinds of pulses in the traditional Chinese medicine as smooth pulse, surface pulse and deep pulse to the displacement waves of blood vessels are also found. This paper presents the results of an investigation into the mechanism of sinkage of running gear on sand. The results indicate that the main reasons for the sinkage on sand are its special mechanical properties as well as the spatial strength characteristics of the sand near the surface of the ground. Sinkage on sand is greatly influenced by the mode of interaction. The “flow confining” action of the running gear could change the flow of sand. If the lateral and upward components of displacement are decreased, the bearing capacity of the sand is increased.  相似文献

The quasistatic evolution of the mechanical state of a piezoelectric body with damage is numerically studied in this paper. Both damage and piezoelectric effects are included into the model. The variational formulation leads to a coupled system composed of two linear variational equations for the displacement field and the electric potential, and a nonlinear parabolic variational equation for the damage field. The existence of a unique weak solution is stated. Then, a fully discrete scheme is introduced by using a finite element method to approximate the spatial variable and an Euler scheme to discretize the time derivatives. Error estimates are derived on the approximate solutions, from which the linear convergence of the algorithm is deduced under suitable regularity conditions. Based on the Ref. [9], the displacement and stress distributions in a spherically isotropic cone subjected to concentrated loads at apex are studied. The displacement and stresses are given explicily for the cone in compression torsion and bending cases, respectively, based on the situation of the concentrated forces and moments.
