Suppose that M is a simplicial model category and that F is a contravariant simplicial functor defined on M which takes values in pointed simplicial sets. This note displays conditions on the simplicial model category M and the functor F such that F is representable up to weak equivalence. The conditions on F are homotopy coherent versions of the classical conditions for Brown representability, while M should have the fundamental properties of the stable model structure for presheaves of spectra on a Grothendieck site.  相似文献

A finitary monosorted algebraic theory is called locally representable (or representable) in a category with finite products if every its initial segment is the domain of a full faithful finite-products-preserving functor into (or if itself is the domain of such a functor). The question of when local representability implies representability is discussed, and theories for which local representability always implies representability are fully characterized. Extending the notion of von Neumann regular elements in a ring R, a homomorphism f:AM between R-modules is said to be regular if there exists some g:M → A such that fgf = f. In this paper we report about the use of this term in module theory.   相似文献

We show that the Hilbert functor of points on an arbitrary separated algebraic stack is an algebraic space. We also show the algebraicity of the Hilbert stack of points on an algebraic stack and the algebraicity of the Weil restriction of an algebraic stack along a finite flat morphism. For the latter two results, no separation assumptions are necessary.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We define “regular” for maps in a Hom group. This notion specializes to the well-known notions of (Von Neumann) regular in rings and modules. A map f ∈ Hom R (A,M) is regular if and only if Ker(f) ? A and Im(f) ? M. There exists a unique maximal regular End(M)-End(A)-submodule in Hom R (A,M). We study regularity in Hom R (A 1 ⊕ A 2, M 1 ⊕ M 2). The existence of a regular function Hom R (A,M) implies the existence of projective summands of Hom R (A,M) End R (A) and of End R ( M ) Hom R (A,M). We consider regularity in endomorphism rings, and generalize a theorem of Ware-Zelmanowitz. We examine connections between the maximum regular bimodule and other substructures of Hom, mention two generalizations of regularity, and raise some questions.  相似文献

In an earlier paper we introduced the concept of Shalika germs for certain Kloosterman integrals. We compute explicitly the germs in the case of the group .

We continue the study of the quandle of homomorphisms into a medial quandle begun in [1]. We show that it suffices to consider only medial source quandles, and therefore the structure theorem of [10] provides a characterization of the Hom quandle. In the particular case when the target is 2-reductive this characterization takes on a simple form that makes it easy to count and determine the structure of the Hom quandle.  相似文献

In this series of papers we study subspaces of de Branges spaces of entire functions which are generated by majorization on subsets D of the closed upper half-plane. The present, first, part is addressed to the question which subspaces of a given de Branges space can be represented by means of majorization. Results depend on the set D where majorization is permitted. Significantly different situations are encountered when D is close to the real axis or accumulates to i∞.  相似文献

Let denote a -adic local field of residual characteristic . This article gives formulas, valid on the regular elliptic set, for the irreducible supercuspidal characters of which correspond to characters of a ramified Cartan subgroup. In the case in which does not contain cube roots of unity, i.e., the case in which ramified cubic extensions of degree over cannot be Galois, base change results concerning ``simple types" due to Bushnell and Henniart (1996) are used in the proofs.

The notion of ×-homotopy from [Anton Dochtermann, Hom complexes and homotopy theory in the category of graphs, European J. Combin., in press] is investigated in the context of the category of pointed graphs. The main result is a long exact sequence that relates the higher homotopy groups of the space Hom(G,H) with the homotopy groups of Hom(G,HI). Here Hom(G,H) is a space which parameterizes pointed graph maps from G to H (a pointed version of the usual Hom complex), and HI is the graph of based paths in H. As a corollary it is shown that πi(Hom(G,H))≅×[G,ΩiH], where ΩH is the graph of based closed paths in H and ×[G,K] is the set of ×-homotopy classes of pointed graph maps from G to K. This is similar in spirit to the results of [Eric Babson, Hélène Barcelo, Mark de Longueville, Reinhard Laubenbacher, Homotopy theory of graphs, J. Algebraic Combin. 24 (1) (2006) 31-44], where the authors seek a space whose homotopy groups encode a similarly defined homotopy theory for graphs. The categorical connections to those constructions are discussed.  相似文献

On flatness properties of cyclic S-posets   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
In this paper, we discuss flatness properties of cyclic S-posets. As applications, some partially ordered monoids are characterized and some results on S-acts can be also obtained. Research supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No.10626012).  相似文献

Relative notions of flatness are introduced as a mean to gauge the extent of the flatness of any given module. Every module is thus endowed with a flatness domain and, for every ring, the collection of flatness domains of all of its modules is a lattice with respect to class inclusion. This lattice, the flatness profile of the ring, allows us, in particular, to focus on modules which have a smallest flatness domain (namely, one consisting of all regular modules.) We establish that such modules exist over arbitrary rings and we call them Rugged Modules. Rings all of whose (cyclic) modules are rugged are shown to be precisely the von Neumann regular rings. We consider rings without a flatness middle class (i.e., rings for which modules must be either flat or rugged.) We obtain that, over a right Noetherian ring every left module is rugged or flat if and only if every right module is poor or injective if and only if R = S×T, where S is semisimple Artinian and T is either Morita equivalent to a right PCI-domain, or T is right Artinian whose Jacobson radical properly contains no nonzero ideals. Character modules serve to bridge results about flatness and injectivity profiles; in particular, connections between rugged and poor modules are explored. If R is a ring whose regular left modules are semisimple, then a right module M is rugged if and only if its character left module M+ is poor. Rugged Abelian groups are fully characterized and shown to coincide precisely with injectively poor and projectively poor Abelian groups. Also, in order to get a feel for the class of rugged modules over an arbitrary ring, we consider the homological ubiquity of rugged modules in the category of all modules in terms of the feasibility of rugged precovers and covers for arbitrary modules.  相似文献

We study the derived functors of Hom that are computed by using flat resolutions of Hom. These are denoted n. We compare these with the usual Extn's and show that 1⊂ Ext1and indicate (using MacLane's terminology) why the class of associated short exact sequences is a proper class. When the ring is a Dedekind domain we classify the N such that n(–, N) = 0 and show that unlike the situation for other classically defined right derived functors of Hom, Hom is not balanced relative to the two classes of modules that make 1 vanish.  相似文献

Global dimension and left derived functors of Hom   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
It is well known that the right global dimension of a ring R is usually computed by the right derived functors of Hom and the left projective resolutions of right R-modules. In this paper, for a left coherent and right perfect ring R, we characterize the right global dimension of R, from another point of view, using the left derived functors of Hom and the right projective resolutions of right R-modules. It is shown that rD(R)≤n (n≥2) if and only if the gl right Proj-dim MR≤n - 2 if and only if Extn-1(N, M) = 0 for all right R-modules N and M if and only if every (n - 2)th Proj-cosyzygy of a right R-module has a projective envelope with the unique mapping property. It is also proved that rD(R)≤n (n≥1) if and only if every (n-1)th Proj-cosyzygy of a right R-module has an epic projective envelope if and only if every nth Vroj-cosyzygy of a right R-module is projective. As corollaries, the right hereditary rings and the rings R with rD(R)≤2 are characterized.  相似文献
