For any Lie groupoid with a twisting, we define an analytic index morphism using the Connes tangent groupoid. This morphism agrees with the one of the Lie groupoid when the twisting is trivial. We discuss a longitudinal index theorem, geometric cycles, push-forward maps and Baum–Connes assembly maps for foliations with a twisting on the space of leaves.  相似文献

We define the “localized index” of longitudinal elliptic operators on Lie groupoids associated with Lie algebroid cohomology classes. We derive a topological expression for these numbers using the algebraic index theorem for Poisson manifolds on the dual of the Lie algebroid. Underlying the definition and computation of the localized index, is an action of the Hopf algebroid of jets around the unit space, and the characteristic map it induces on Lie algebroid cohomology. This map can be globalized to differentiable groupoid cohomology, giving a definition of the “global index”, that can be computed by localization. This correspondence between the “global” and “localized” index is given by the van Est map for Lie groupoids.  相似文献

The notion of n-transitivity can be carried over from groups of diffeomorphisms on a manifold M to groups of bisections of a Lie groupoid over M. The main theorem states that the n-transitivity is fulfilled for all n ∈ N by an arbitrary group of Cr-bisections of a Lie groupoid Γ of class Cr, where 1 ≤ rω, under mild conditions. For instance, the group of all bisections of any Lie groupoid and the group of all Lagrangian bisections of any symplectic groupoid are n-transitive in the sense of this theorem. In particular, if Γ is source connected for any arrow γ ∈ Γ, there is a bisection passing through γ.  相似文献

For a Lie groupoid G with a twisting σ (a PU(H)-principal bundle over G), we use the (geometric) deformation quantization techniques supplied by Connes tangent groupoids to define an analytic index morphism in twisted K-theory. In the case the twisting is trivial we recover the analytic index morphism of the groupoid. For a smooth foliated manifold with twistings on the holonomy groupoid we prove the twisted analog of the Connes–Skandalis longitudinal index theorem. When the foliation is given by fibers of a fibration, our index coincides with the one recently introduced by Mathai, Melrose, and Singer. We construct the pushforward map in twisted K-theory associated to any smooth (generalized) map f:WM/F and a twisting σ on the holonomy groupoid M/F, next we use the longitudinal index theorem to prove the functoriality of this construction. We generalize in this way the wrong way functoriality results of Connes and Skandalis when the twisting is trivial and of Carey and Wang for manifolds.  相似文献

The purpose of this Note is to show that global geometry requires Lie groupoid theory. In this way we show that holonomy groupoid of a regular foliation leads to a satisfactory solution of many global existence problems. Three examples are given: Palais'theorem on local group actions, a characteristics method and links between Lie groupoid and algebroid morphisms. Complete proofs will be given elsewere.  相似文献

The root systems appearing in the theory of Lie superalgebras and Nichols algebras admit a large symmetry extending properly the one coming from the Weyl group. Based on this observation we set up a general framework in which the symmetry object is a groupoid. We prove that in our context the groupoid is generated by simple reflections and Coxeter relations. In a broad sense this answers a question of Serganova. Our weak version of the exchange condition allows us to prove Matsumoto’s theorem. Therefore the word problem is solved for the groupoid.  相似文献

We apply the bar construction to the nerve of a double Lie groupoid to obtain a local Lie 2-groupoid. As an application, we recover Haefliger’s fundamental groupoid from the fundamental double groupoid of a Lie groupoid. In the case of a symplectic double groupoid, we study the induced closed 2-form on the associated local Lie 2-groupoid, which leads us to propose a definition of a symplectic 2-groupoid.  相似文献

In this paper we prove rigidity theorems for Poisson Lie group actions on Poisson manifolds. In particular, we prove that close infinitesimal momentum maps associated to Poisson Lie group actions are equivalent using a normal form theorem for SCI spaces. When the Poisson structure of the acted manifold is integrable, this yields rigidity also for lifted actions to the symplectic groupoid.  相似文献

Motivated by a search for Lie group structures on groups of Poisson diffeomorphisms, we investigate linearizability of Poisson structures of Poisson groupoids around the unit section. After extending the Lagrangian neighbourhood theorem to the setting of cosymplectic Lie algebroids, we establish that dual integrations of triangular bialgebroids are always linearizable. Additionally, we show that the (non-dual) integration of a triangular Lie bialgebroid is linearizable whenever the r-matrix is of so-called cosymplectic type. The proof relies on the integration of a triangular Lie bialgebroid to a symplectic LA-groupoid, and in the process we define interesting new examples of double Lie algebroids and LA-groupoids. We also show that the product Poisson groupoid can only be linearizable when the Poisson structure on the unit space is regular.  相似文献

In this paper, we undertake the study of the Tannaka duality construction for the ordinary representations of a proper Lie groupoid on vector bundles. We show that for each proper Lie groupoid G, the canonical homomorphism of G into the reconstructed groupoid T(G) is surjective, although — contrary to what happens in the case of groups — it may fail to be an isomorphism. We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions in order that G may be isomorphic to T(G) and, more generally, in order that T(G) may be a Lie groupoid. We show that if T(G) is a Lie groupoid, the canonical homomorphism GT(G) is a submersion and the two groupoids have isomorphic categories of representations.  相似文献

The classical Serre-Swan’s theorem defines an equivalence between the category of vector bundles and the category of finitely generated projective modules over the algebra of continuous functions on some compact Hausdorff topological space. We extend these results to obtain a correspondence between the category of representations of an étale Lie groupoid and the category of modules over its Hopf algebroid that are of finite type and of constant rank. Both of these constructions are functorially defined on the Morita category of étale Lie groupoids and we show that the given correspondence represents a natural equivalence between them.  相似文献

Previous work (Pradines, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris 263 (1966) 907; Aof and Brown, Topology Appl. 47 (1992) 97) has given a setting for a holonomy Lie groupoid of a locally Lie groupoid. Here we develop analogous 2-dimensional notions starting from a locally Lie crossed module of groupoids. This involves replacing the Ehresmann notion of a local smooth coadmissible section of a groupoid by a local smooth coadmissible homotopy (or free derivation) for the crossed module case. The development also has to use corresponding notions for certain types of double groupoids. This leads to a holonomy Lie groupoid rather than double groupoid, but one which involves the 2-dimensional information.  相似文献

We prove an index theorem for foliated manifolds. We do so by constructing a push forward map in cohomology for a k-oriented map from an arbitrary manifold to the space of leaves of an oriented foliation, and by constructing a Chern–Connes character from the k-theory of the compactly supported smooth functions on the holonomy groupoid of the foliation to the Haefliger cohomology of the foliation. Combining these with the Connes–Skandalis topological index map and the classical Chern character gives a commutative diagram from which the index theorem follows immediately.  相似文献

We observe that any connected proper Lie groupoid whose orbits have codimension at most two admits a globally effective representation, i.e. one whose kernel consists only of ineffective arrows, on a smooth vector bundle. As an application, we deduce that any such groupoid can up to Morita equivalence be presented as an extension, by some bundle of compact Lie groups, of some action groupoid G?X with G compact.  相似文献

We give a new construction of the holonomy groupoid of a regular foliation in terms of a partial connection on a diffeological principal bundle of germs of transverse parametrisations, which may be viewed as a systematisation of Winkelnkemper’s original construction using ideas from gauge theory. We extend these ideas to construct a novel holonomy groupoid for any foliated bundle, which we prove sits at the top of a hierarchy of diffeological jet holonomy groupoids associated with the foliated bundle. This shows that while the Winkelnkemper holonomy groupoid is the smallest Lie groupoid that integrates a foliation, it is far from the smallest diffeological groupoid that does so.

The equivariant fundamental groupoid of a G-space X is a category which generalizes the fundamental groupoid of a space to the equivariant setting. In this paper, we prove a van Kampen theorem for these categories: the equivariant fundamental groupoid of X can be obtained as a pushout of the categories associated to two open G-subsets covering X. This is proved by interpreting the equivariant fundamental groupoid as a Grothendieck semidirect product construction, and combining general properties of this construction with the ordinary (non-equivariant) van Kampen theorem. We then illustrate applications of this theorem by showing that the equivariant fundamental groupoid of a G-CW complex only depends on the 2-skeleton and also by using the theorem to compute an example.  相似文献

We discuss natural transformations in the context of Lie groupoids, and their infinitesimal counterpart. Our main result is an integration procedure that provides smooth natural transformations between Lie groupoid morphisms.  相似文献

Using the concept of a twisted trace density on a cyclic groupoid, a trace is constructed on a formal deformation quantization of a symplectic orbifold. An algebraic index theorem for orbifolds follows as a consequence of a local Riemann-Roch theorem for such densities. In the case of a reduced orbifold, this proves a conjecture by Fedosov, Schulze, and Tarkhanov. Finally, it is shown how the Kawasaki index theorem for elliptic operators on orbifolds follows from this algebraic index theorem.  相似文献

We study a few basic properties of Banach–Lie groupoids and algebroids, adapting some classical results on finite dimensional Lie groupoids. As an illustration of the general theory, we show that the notion of locally transitive Banach–Lie groupoid sheds fresh light on earlier research on some infinite-dimensional manifolds associated with Banach algebras.  相似文献
