In this study, calix[4]arene derivatives (1114) bearing a single nucleobase (adenine, thymine, cytosine or guanine) were synthesised via click chemistry. The complexation ability of the synthesised derivatives with alkali metal ions was measured using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, and their molecular assembly in CDCl3 was determined using 1H NMR. Calix[4]arene derivatives (1114) formed 1:1 complexes with all alkali metal ions and the rank order for the complexation selectivity was Rb+ > Cs+ > K+ ? Na+ > Li+. The attachment of nucleobase at the upper rim of calix[4]arene had little effect on its complexation selectivity for alkali metal ions. Thymine-, adenine- and guanine-calix[4]arenes formed self-assembled structures in CDCl3 via base–base interactions. In addition, adenine-calix[4]arene (11) bound to thymine-calix[4]arene (12) to form a discrete species via Hoogsteen hydrogen bonding.  相似文献

In this study, 5,11,17,23-tetrakis[(N-ethylpiperazine)methyl]-25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene (3) and 5,11,17,23-tetrakis[(4-carboethoxy-N-piperidino) methyl]-25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene (4) were synthesized in one step according to the Mannich reaction by the treatment of calix[4]arene with a secondary amine (N-ethylpiperazine, ethyl-4-piperidincarboxylate) and formaldehyde. The calix[4]arene derivatives (3, 4) were characterized by a combination of FTIR, 1H NMR and elemental analyses. The synthesized compounds were used in an esterification reaction as the phase transfer catalyst. The catalytic efficiency of the calix[4]arenes 3 and 4 was evaluated by carrying out the ester-forming reaction of alkali metal carboxylates (sodium butyrate or sodium caprylate) with p-nitrobenzyl bromide. It was observed that the ester-forming reaction of alkali metal carboxylates with p-nitrobenzyl bromide, using calix[4]arene-based catalyst 3 as a phase-transfer catalyst in dichloromethan, provided the best yields.  相似文献

Several new nitrogen-containingcalixarene derivatives have been synthesized andtheir ion-binding properties investigated byUV spectroscopy and solventextraction. These derivatives include5,11,17,23-tetra-t-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetrakis(piperidinocarbonylmethoxy)calix[4]arene (5),5,11,17,23,29,35,41,47-octa-t-butyl-49,50,51,52,53,54,55,56-octa(piperidinocarbonylmethoxy)calix[8]arene (6) and5,11,17,23,29,35,41,47-octa-t-butyl-49,50,51,52,53,54,55,56-octa(N,N-diethyl-car-bamoyl-methoxy)calix[8]arene(7). The UV spectra of and 7revealed they had an ability to transform tight lead picrate ionpairs into separated ones by complexationwith Pb2+ in tetrahydrofuran.Both derivatives give 1 : 1 complexes with Pb2+. Extraction studies showed that these derivativescould efficiently extract Pb2+ (as picrate salts) from the aqueous phase into chloroform. Theextractability of these derivatives were also compared with that ofthe oxygen-containing ester derivative calix[8]arene 2 and the other two nitrogen-containingcompounds 8 and 9.  相似文献

通过对杯[4]芳烃以及杯[6]芳烃上缘进行烯丙基化和硅氢加成2步衍生化反应得到硅氢化杯[4]芳烃以及硅氢化杯[6]芳烃,再将这2种硅氢化杯芳烃衍生物分别接枝到超细SiO2上。在不同的pH值条件下,就2种杯芳烃接枝超细SiO2衍生物对水合Cu2+及Ag+的萃取性能进行了研究。结果表明,与对叔丁基杯芳烃相比较,杯芳烃接枝超细SiO2衍生物对Cu2+和Ag+的萃取率都有所提高,其中杯[4]芳烃接枝超细SiO2对Ag+的最高萃取率达到98.78%,杯[6]芳烃接枝超细SiO2对Cu2+的最高萃取率达到67.74%。  相似文献

The synthesis and properties of upperrim Schiff base calix[4]arenes are described in thisarticle. Tetrakis-p-bromomethylcalix[4]arene(1) reacts with hexamethylenetetramine to givetetrakis-p-formylcalix[4]arene (2) in highyield. Then upper rim Schiff base calix[4]arenes 3 can be easily synthesized by 2 reacting withappropriate alkylamines. The reaction of 4′-hydroxy-4-methyl azobenzene (1) and 1,6-dibromohexane afforded 6-bromo-1-((4-((4-met hylphenyl)azo)phenyl)oxy)hexane (2), which further reacted with p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene to give the calix[4]arene derivative (3) whose lower rim had been modified by the azobenzene photochromic group. The structure of 3 was characterized by 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). The fluorescence intensity of compound 3 was two to four times higher than that of compounds 1 and 2 as the azobenzene group concentration in the range of 1.6 × 10−5 to 8.0 × 10−4 mol/L, indicating that the fluorescence quantum yield of the azobenzene group had been improved through being attached to the calix[4]arene skeleton. The liquid crystalline behavior of compound 3 was studied by polarized microscopy (POM) and differential scan calorimeter (DSC). Compound 3 exhibited the enchased texture of a smectic liquid crystal from 209.4°C to 219.5°C on heating, while 2 exhibited a liquid crystalline phase from 87.4 to 83.2°C on cooling. It was found that the calix[4]arene skeleton was a good platform for conformation immobilization of azobenzene photochromic group and the formation of liquid crystalline. Five bisbridged calix[6]crowns have been investigated as Cs+ ionophore in PVC membrane electrodes. As ionophores, three 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐4‐ethers( I–III ), 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐5‐ether( IV ), and 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐6‐ether( V ) have been evaluated. The membranes all give good Nernstian response in the concentration range from 1×10?7 to 1×10?1 M of cesium ion. The best detection limits (?log aequation/tex2gif-inf-1.gif=7.08–7.36) are obtained for electrode membranes containing 1,3‐bisbridged cofacial‐calix[6]crown‐4‐ethers( I‐III ), and the values are the lowest compared with those reported previously. The highest selectivity coefficients [ 3.74(Cs/K), 2.63(Cs/Rb)] are obtained for the membrane of 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐4‐ether( II ), and these values are also the highest compared with previous reports for Cs+‐ISEs. The highest selectivity towards cesium ion is attributed to the geometrically cofacial positions of two crown‐ethers in calix[6]crowns in order to provide the complex of cesium ion and eight oxygens of cofacial crowns.  相似文献

In order to obtain insights into relationships between the calix[4]arene structure and the ion selectivity in the electrode system, 20 ionophoric calix[4]arenes were synthesized and their ion selectivity (with Na+ as a standard) estimated. Among these ionophoric calix[4]arenes, 25,26,27,28-tetrakis[(ethoxycarbonyl)methoxy]-p-t-octylcalix[4]arene afforded the highest logK NA,M pot value (–3.1) in the presence of 2-fluorophenyl-2-nitrophenylether (10) as the best of 13 plasticizers. This is the first example in which the Na+/K+ selectivity exceeds a factor of 103 in the electrode system based on the neutral carrier. The high Na+ selectivity is attributed to modification of the upper rim which ostensibly has no relation with the component of the cavity. This paper demonstrates the potential relationships between the unique structure of the calix[4]arene-based ligands and selectivity performance for the design of ion-selective electrodes.  相似文献

In this study, we report the highly sensitive extraction-fluorometric detection system of Na+ using flow injection analysis with a tetraester derivative of fluorescent calix[4]arene. In liquid-liquid extraction experiments, the fluorescent intensity of calix[4]arene derivative 1 bearing a p-nitrophenol moiety was highly dependent on pH and the Na+ concentration in the aqueous phase. On the other hand, such phenomenon was not observed in the case of calix[4]arene derivative 2, which is almost the same structure as 1 except for a p-nitrophenol moiety. These results show that the proton dissociation of the p-nitrophenol moiety decisively affects the fluorescence intensity of 1. Owing to these fluorescence responsiveness, a calibration graph of the Na+ concentration could be successfully prepared using flow injection analysis with good linearity at the tens of nanomolar level. The tetraester scaffold of calix[4]arene was essential to the detection of Na+ in such a very low concentration range.  相似文献

Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses of calix[4]arene-bis-crown-6 (1) and calix[4]arene-bis-benzocrown-61,2-dichloroethane (2) are reported. Thesestructures offer an opportunity to study the conformation of calix[4]arene-bis-crown-6 molecules in the absence of solvent, and when very weakly solvated. These structures exhibit different conformations of the crown ring, and limited flexibility of the calix[4]arene,but do not show solvent or crown inclusion in the calix[4]arene cavity. Comparisons to similar structures are made, and the implications for cesium binding are discussed.  相似文献

Novel macrocyclic compounds, hexahydroxy[1.0.1.0.1.0]- (2b) and octahydroxy[1.0.1.0.1.0.1.0]metacyclophane (2c) have been prepared in 50–70% yield by base-catalyzed condensation of 5,5-di-tert-butyl-2,2-dihydroxybiphenyl (1) with formaldehyde in refluxing xylene. An attempted alkylation of the flexible macrocycles2b and2c with ethyl bromoacetate in the presence of Cs2CO3 under acetonitrile reflux gave only one pure stereoisomer3 and4, respectively, while other possible isomers were not observed. The structural characterization of these products is also discussed. The two-phase solvent extraction data indicated that hexaethyl ester3 and octaethyl ester4 show strong metal affinity, comparable with that of the corresponding calix[n]arenes, and a high K+ selectivity was observed for octaethyl ester4.1H-NMR titration of hexaethyl ester3 and octaethyl ester4 with KSCN clearly demonstrate that a 11 complex is formed which is stable on the NMR time scale.This paper is dedicated to the commemorative issue on the 50th anniversary of calixarenes.  相似文献

The tetra-isopropyl ethers of calix[4]arene and p-t-butylcalix[4]arene have been isolated in the cone conformation, and structurally characterised as chloroform solvates. Thermogravimetric analysis demonstrated that the parent isopropylcalix[4]arene solvate is significantly more stable than the p-t-butylcalix[4]arene analogue, retaining the solvent up to a temperature of 125°C. It was found that the calix[4]arene ether sublimes at atmospheric pressure, and solvent-free crystals appropriate for structure determination were produced at reduced pressure. The p-t-butylcalix[4]arene ether was also isolated without solvent in the lattice, but in this case the calixarene was crystallised from acetone, as sublimation did not produce crystals of sufficient quality.  相似文献

An unsymmetrical calix[4]-bis-crown ether having both conventional crown-6 and dibenzocrown-6 rings in a fixed 1,3-alternate conformation was synthesized with good yield by the reaction of a monocyclic calix[4]crown-6 with dibenzodimesylate in the presence of cesium carbonate. The cesium ion selectivity among alkali metal ions increased compared to symmetrical calix[4]-bis-crown-6. The solid state structureof the ligand-cesium complex illustrates a 1:2 complex ratio. On the contrary, insolution, e.g., extraction equilibrium and 1H NMR experiment gave a 1:1 complex ratio. From the result of the chemical shift change upon metal ion complex, the cesium ion seems to prefer the dibenzocrown loop to the conventional crown-6 ring.  相似文献

Complexones of a new class, viz., carboxy-functionalized calix[4]pyrrogallols, were synthesized. The per-O-(carboxymethyl)calix[4]pyrogallols obtained were established to exist in the (rel, cis, trans, trans)-configuration by 2D NMR spectroscopic data. According to the pH-potentiometric data, the interaction of these compounds with alkaline metal ions (Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+) and lanthanide ions (La3+, Gd3+, Lu3+) in a water—DMSO system produces 1 : 1 complexes. The specific features of complexation of per-O-(carboxymethyl)calix[4]pyrogallols, as compared to their acyclic analogs, with alkaline metal and lanthanide ions are due to the cooperative effect of donor groups preorganized on the calixarene matrix.  相似文献

Abstract

A series of novel calix[4]‐dixanthates‐crowns were designed and synthesized by the “1 + 1 condensation” of reacting calix[4]‐1,3‐dixanthate salts derivative (4) with polyethylene glycol ditosylates in 40–60% yields. It was found that the new calixcrowns showed outstanding complexation abilities towards soft cations. Calix[4]‐dixanthate‐crown‐4 (5b) exhibited high complexation selectivity towards Ni2+.  相似文献

Alkylation of p-tert-butylcalix[5]arene (1) with 2,2'-bis(5-tosyloxy-3-oxa-1-pentyloxy)-1,1'-binaphthalene ((±)-2) in the presence of CsF affords selectively racemic 1,3-bridged calix[5] [5]crown-6-triol 3, along with very small amounts of the (1,2)-bridged regioisomer 4. Compound 3 has been converted into tri-methoxy and tri--picolyloxy derivatives 5 and 6, respectively, by exhaustive alkylation with the appropriate electrophile and base. The direct separation of the enantiomers of racemates 3 and 6 was achieved by HPLC, using a chiral stationary phase (Chiralpak AD). Hosts 5 and 6 are able to selectively form 1 : 1 endo-cavity complexes with the linear RNH3 + ions.  相似文献

The article describes the synthesis and extraction properties of new (S)-(-)-1-phenylethylamine substituted p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene/calix[4]arene. These compounds have been synthesized via nucleophilic substitution reactions involving 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetra(2-hydroxyethoxy)calix[4]arene (4a), or 5,11,17,23-tetra-H-25,26,27,28-tetra(2-hydroxyethoxy)calix[4]arene (4b) with (S)-(-)-1-phenylethylamine in dry THF. The extraction properties of ligands 5a and 5b towards the some selected α-amino acid methylesters and chiral α-amines are also reported. It has been observed that receptor 5a was an excellent ionophore for α-amino acid methylesters/α-amines and good extractant than 5b. In the present study, two novel calix[4]arene receptors containing triphenylamine units in 1,3-alternate conformation have been synthesized and characterized in detail. First, the 25,27-dipropoxy-26,28-bis[(3-aminopropyl)oxy]-calix[4]arene 4 and 25,26,27,28-tetra[(3-aminopropyl)oxy]-calix[4]arene 7 were prepared by using convenient reagents. Then, these amino derivatives of calix[4]arene were converted to Schiff base derivatives appended to triphenylamine of calix[4]arene (5 and 8) using 4-formyltriphenylamine via condensation. The 1,3-alternate conformation of the synthesized calix[4]arenes was determined by 1H and 13C NMR analyses. Also, their structures have been characterized by using 1H and 13C NMR, infrared, and elemental analyses.

The synthesis of two 1,3‐bis(4‐ethynylbenzyloxy)calix[4]arenes, 5,11,17,23‐tetrakis(1,1‐dimethylethyl)‐25,27‐bis(4‐ethynylbenzyloxy)‐26,28‐dihydroxycalix[4]arene ( 1 ) and 25,27‐bis(4‐ethynylbenzyloxy)‐26,28‐dihydroxycalix[4]arene ( 2 ), was accomplished through Sonogashira coupling of appropriate calixarene derivatives. Methods for the polymerization of these bifunctional building blocks with Rh(I) as a catalyst, leading ultimately to conjugated polymers having calix[4]arene units incorporated into the main chain, were explored. Calixarenes 1 and 2 were efficiently polymerized with rhodium‐based initiators and afforded the conjugated polymers poly{5,11,17,23‐tetrakis(1,1‐dimethylethyl)‐25,27‐bis(4‐ethynylbenzyloxy)‐26,28‐dihydroxycalix[4]arene} ( poly 1 ) and poly{25,27‐bis(4‐ethynylbenzyloxy)‐26,28‐dihydroxycalix[4]arene}. Depending on the conditions, high conversions and good yields were obtained. The effects of adding cocatalysts (NHEt2 and/or PPh3) were studied in connection with the number‐average molecular weight and the molecular weight distribution of the resultant polymer ( poly 1 ) and tentatively correlated with the formation of low‐molecular‐weight materials. A catalytic system containing triphenylphosphine as the sole additive ([Rh(nbd)Cl]2; [Rh]/[PPh3] = 0.5) proved to be the best for the polymerization of ptert‐butylcalixarene compound 1 . Linear polymers having high number‐average molecular weights (up to 1.1 × 105 g mol?1) with low polydispersities were produced under these conditions. For debutylated homologue 2 , its polymerization was best carried out in the absence of any added cocatalyst. A cyclopolymerization route, comprising the intramolecular ring closing of the calix[4]arene pendant ethynyl groups followed by an intermolecular propagation step, is advanced to explain the results. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
