The — complexes of metal tetraphenylporphinates with benzene, toluene, and xylenes were characterized by means of thermogravimetry. The ability of metalloporphyrins to form — complexes with certain -donor molecules depends largely on the -acceptor capacity of the macroheterocycle, and on the peculiarities of the metal—porphyrin coordinative linkage. The cis-influence observed in chlorine NQR data of X, Y affecting the Pt-Cl bonds in compounds of type trans-[PtCl2XY] is interpreted. -bonding differences in Pt-Cl bonds are suggested to account for the trends in NQR frequencies. Summary. Exciton coupling of the 190nm * transition is an important factor in the CD spectrum of peptides and proteins. The CD spectrum of the -helix is dominated by the exciton effect. The spectrum is sensitive to the direction of the * transition dipole moment, especially for short helices. Exciton theory is much less successful in accounting for the CD spectrum of the poly(proline)II (PPII) conformation, an important conformer in collagen and in unordered peptides. Mixing of the * transition with high-energy transitions in the peptide backbone and in side chains must be considered to explain the strong negative CD band near 200nm of PPII.  相似文献

We present a type of coronafusene termed cyclofusene, in which each hexacycle shares exactly two nonadjacent edges with other hexacycles. Cyclofusene has exactly four configurations of bonds such that each bond belongs to the inner or outer boundary. In each of these configurations, the outer boundary has six more bonds than the inner boundary. The number of shared bonds in any mixed configuration is even. Let m be the number of shared bonds in a mixed configuration for a cyclofusene with exactly k linear chains. Then m k. Conclusions A study was made of the reaction of CpRe(CO)2·THF with acetylenes of type Ph3MCCPh, where M=Si, Ge, Sn. The charge-transfer (CT) spectra of the -complexes formed by a number of -acceptors with several indenophanes as well as indene as a model compound have been measured in methylene chloride at 20 °C. Association constants and transition energies of these complexes as well as ionization potentials of the -donors have been determined. The data obtained indicate the existence of transannular electronic interactions in the indenophane nucleus. Furthermore, the pseudo-para- andmeta[2.2]indenophane isomers (3 and4) show a large difference in their -base strength. A good linear relationship has been observed between the association constants and max of the long wavelength CT bands for the -complexes of these -donors with both tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) and 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanobenzoquinone (DDQ). All CT complexes studied have a 1:1 stoichiometry.
Charge-transfer-Komplexe aus Indenophanen und -Akzeptoren
Zusammenfassung Die Charge-transfer-Spektren (CT-Spektren) von -Komplexen aus Indenophanen bzw. der Modellverbindung Inden und verschiedenen -Akzeptoren wurden in Methylenchlorid bei 20 °C bestimmt. Die Assoziationskonstanten und Übergangsenergien dieser Komplexe sowie die Ionisationspotentiale der -Donatoren wurden ermittelt. Die Daten sprechen für das Vorliegen transannularer elektronischer Wechselwirkungen im Indenophan-System. Die isomeren pseudo-para- und -meta[2.2]indenophane3 und4 unterscheiden sich in ihrer -Basizität deutlich. Es besteht eine gute lineare Korrelation zwischen den Assoziationskonstanten und max der langwelligen CT-Banden der verschiedenen -Donatoren mit Tetracyanoethylen (TCNE) und 2,3-Dichlor-5,6-dicyano-p-benzochinon (DDQ). Alle untersuchten CT-Komplexe besitzen 1:1-Stöchiometrie.

A general topological -electron Hamiltonian is defined as an appropriate function of the adjacency matrix. It is shown that any electronic property of a planar benzenoid hydrocarbon, including its all-electron wavefunction, is entirely determined by the topological -electron Hamiltonian describing the hydrocarbon. However, using electronic wavefunctions (calculated at the HF/6-31G** level) of several such hydrocarbons as examples, it is demonstrated that it is impossible to construct topological Hamiltonians with eigenvectors related by simple universal algebraic formulae to the corresponding occupied Hartree-Fock orbitals of symmetry. This observation casts doubt on the usefulness of the Hückel -electron orbitals in understanding the electronic structures of benzenoid systems.Dedicated to Professor Frank Harary on the occasion of his 70th birthday.  相似文献

Electron transitions in divinyl chalcogenides (CH2=CHXCH=CH2, where X is S, Se, or Te) have been analyzed using UV absorption spectra of dialkyl and alkyl vinyl chalcogenides. The following relations for the orbital energies are found: * < * < * < * for Te and * < * < * < * for S and Se. For chalcophenes, a correlation between the energy of the excited state (E *) of specific symmetry, the ionization potential (I) and the electron affinity (EA) is obtained:E *=const+(I+EA)/2. The electron affinity of divinyl chalcogenides is estimated. Researches on the electronic structure and the characteristics of various tautomer forms of Purine
The electronic characteristics (energy, charge , geometry, dipole moment, transition energy) of the four tautomeric forms of the purine and of the phenyl-8 N(1)H and N(3)H purines have been determined by the improved LCAO method. The form 9 is considered as the most stable at the isolated state. A new interpretation of the absorption bands is proposed.

Zusammenfassung Die elektronischen Charakteristiken (Energie, Ladung , Geometrie, Dipolmoment, Übergangsenergie) der vier Tautomerformen des Purins und der Phenyl-8 N(1)H und N(3)H Purine sind durch die verbesserte LCAO-Methode bestimmt worden. Die Form 9 ist, zum isolierten Stand, als am meisten beständig zu betrachten. Eine neue Erklärung der Absorptionsbänder ist vorgeschlagen.

Configuration interaction (CI) studies of ground, n *, * * electronically excited states are reported for pyridine N-oxide. The transition energy to the lowest * excited 1 B 2 state is calculated at 4.35 eV, compared to the experimental spectrum range of 3.67–4.0 eV. This state lies below the lowest n * excited 1 A 2 state calculated at 4.81 eV above the ground state. The only experimentally reported triplet state at 2.92 eV above the ground state is predicted to be the 3 A 1 (*) state. The calculated energy lies at 3.27 eV. Numerous other high-lying singlet states as well as the triplet states have also been calculated. The intramolecular charge transfer character of the ground and the excited states have been studied in terms of the calculated dipole moment and other physical properties.  相似文献

LogK, H, andTS values for interactions of (R) and (S) enantiomers of -(1-naphthyl)ethylammonium perchlorate (NapEt), -phenylethylammonium perchlorate (PhEt), and the hydrogen perchlorate salt of 2-amino-2-phenylethanol (PhEtOH) with a series of chiral and achiral pyridino-18-crown-6 type ligands and 18-crown-6 (18C6) were determined from calorimetric titration data valid in methanol and in a 1: 1 (v/v) methanol-1,2-dichloroethane (MeOH-1,2-DCE) mixture at 25.0°C. In the MeOH-1,2-DCE solvent mixture, the chiral macrocyclic ligands exhibit excellent recognition for enantiomers of the three organic ammonium cations as shown by large differences in logK values ( logK) which range from 0.4 to 0.6 (2.5- to 4.0-fold difference in binding constants). The logK values in the solvent mixture MeOH-1,2-DCE are increased by 0.1–0.5 logK units over those in absolute methanol, indicating a favorable effect of 1,2-dichloroethane on enantiomeric recognition. In 1,2-dichloroethane, however, the interactions are too strong (logK>6) to observe the degree of recognition by a direct calorimetric method. Complexation of organic ammonium cations by these macrocyclic ligands is driven by favorable enthalpy changes. The entropy changes ure unfavorable in all cases. The thermodynamic origin of enantiomeric recognition for NapEt in 1:1 (v/v) MeOH-1,2-DCE is enthalpic, but those for PhEt and PhEtOH are entropic. Effects of the ligand structure and flexibility and of the organic cation structure on recognition and complex stability are discussed on the basis of the thermodynamic quantities. Different thermodynamic behaviors of achiral 5 and 18C6 from those of chiral macrocyclic ligands indicate a difference between chiral and achiral macrocycle interactions with the chiral organic ammonium cations. The different thermodynamic behavior of NapEt enantiomers compared to those of PhEt and PhEtOH enantiomers supports the idea that the solution complex conformation of NapEt is different from those of PhEt and PhEtOH. - interaction is absent for the PhEt and PhEtOH complexes with diesterpyridino-18-crown-6 ligands in solution. Therefore, the higher degree of enantiomeric recognition for NapEt than for either PhEt or PhEtOH by these chiral macrocyclic ligands is a result of the presence of - interaction in the NapEt system.  相似文献

CNDO calculations have been used to obtain the one-centre core integrals for protonated azines required in calculating the * absorption spectra of such molecules using the PPP method. Calculated spectra for both the parent and the protonated molecules are obtained in satisfactory agreement with experiment. The changes in the -framework of the molecules on protonation are also discussed in terms of the CNDO results.
Zusammenfassung CNDO-Rechnungen wurden benutzt, um die Einzentren-Rumpf-Integrale für protonierte Azine zu erhalten, die bei der Berechnung der * -Absorptionsspektren mit Hilfe der PPP-Methode benötigt werden.Die berechneten Spektren für die Ausgangsmoleküle und die protonierten Moleküle sind in zufriedenstellender Übereinstimmung mit dem Experiment. Die Veränderungen im -Rumpf der Moleküle bei der Protonierung werden ebenfalls mit Hilfe der CNDO-Resultate diskutiert.

Résumé Des CNDO ont tét utilisés pour obtenir les intégrales de coeur monocentriques des azines protonées nécessaires au calcul de leur spectre d'absorption * par la méthode PPP. Les spectres calculés pour les molécules protonées ou non sont en accord satisfaisant avec l'expérience. Les modifications subies lors de la protonation par le squelette sont discutées en fonction des résultats des calculs CNDO.

The vertical electronic spectrum of methylenecyclopropene, the prototype of the nonalternant hydrocarbons known as fulvenes, has been studied using multiconfigurational second-order perturbation theory. The calculations comprise three valence states and the 3s, 3p, and 3d members of the Rydberg series converging to the first ionization limit. Vertical excitation energies to three valence states are found at 4.13, 6.12, and 6.82 eV. The second of them corresponds to an excitation from the highest occupied orbital to a * orbital, while the other two are * excitations. The third transition gives rise to the most intense feature in the electronic spectrum. The results are rationalized within the scheme of two interacting double bonds. Comparisons are made between this and the previous theoretical calculations of the electronic spectra of related systems and also between the available experimental data of methylenecyclopropene in solution.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Mit dem SCF–MO-Verfahren in der -Variationsmethode wurde die -Elektronenstruktur dertrans-1,2-Di-(pyridyl)äthylene untersucht. Die Spektren werden berechnet, wobei man Wechselwirkung dereinzeln angeregten Singulett-Konfigurationen berücksichtigt. Die berechneten Übergangsenergien sind in guter Übereinstimmung mit gemessenen Werten.

The -electron structure oftrans-1,2-Di-(pyridyl)-ethylenes was studied by the SCF–MO-method in the variable -approximation. The electronic spectra were calculated using the singly excited singlet configurations for the CI treatment. The calculated transition energies are in good agreement with the experimental data.

An improvement in the calculation of electron repulsion integrals in Pariser-Parr-Pople theory has been made, considering the following two characteristic features associated with electron interactions in molecules; Firstly, a given -electron moves in the sea of electron clouds consisted of -electrons and other -electrons, which forms a polarizable dielectric medium. Secondly, in alternant hydrocarbons, -electrons will be alternatively distributed to the upper and lower sides of molecular plane. The present idea is applied to SCF MO calculations of simple hydrocarbons. Calculated results for singlet and triplet transitions energies, and first ionization potentials are in good agreement with experimental data.
Zusammenfassung Bei der Berechnung der Elektronenwechselwirkungsintegrale im Rahmen der PPP-Theorie wird eine Verbesserung angegeben, die folgende Charakteristika betrifft: 1. Ein gegebenes -Elektron bewegt sich im Feld der übrigen - und -Elektronen, die ein polarisierbares elektrisches Medium bilden; 2. in alternierenden Kohlenwasserstoffen sind die -Elektronen abwechselnd auf der Ober- und Unterseite der Molekülebene verteilt. Diese Idee wird auf SCF MO Rechnungen von einfachen Kohlenwasserstoffen angewandt. Die Ergebnisse von Singulett- und Triplettübergangsenergien und Ionisierungspotentialen stimmen mit den experimentellen Daten gut überein.

Résumé On a amélioré le calcul des intégrales de répulsion électronique dans la théorie de Pariser-Parr-Pople en prenant en considération les deux aspects caractéristiques suivant de l'interaction électronique dans les molécules. Premièrement, un électron donné se déplace dans la mer des nuages électroniques des électrons et des autres électrons , qui forme un milieu diélectrique polarisable. Deuxièmement, dans les hydrocarbures alternants, les électrons seront alternativement distribués sur les cÔtés supérieurs et inférieurs du plan moléculaire. Cette idée est appliquée à des calculs SCF MO d'hydrocarbures simples. Les résultats des calculs pour les énergies de transition singulet et triplet et pour les premiers potentiels d'ionisation sont en bon accord avec les donées expérimentales.

The vertical valence ionization potentials of cyclopropane, ethylene oxide and ethylene imine are calculated by a many-body Green's function method. For C3H6 the ordering of the ionization potentials is 2e(), 1e(), 2a1(), 1a2(), 1e(). The assignment of the 2a1 and the 1a2 ionization potentials which has been controversial is thus clarified. The ordering is in agreement with the result obtained via Koopmans' theorem. For ethylene oxide and ethylene imine Koopmans' theorem fails in predicting the correct order of ionic states. For C2H4O the ordering of the ionization potentials is 2b 1(), 4a 1, 1a 2(), 2b 2,3a 1, 1b 1(), 1b 2, 2a 1 and for C2H5N 6a, 5a, 3a, 2a, 4a, 3a, 1a, 2a. The agreement of the computed ionization potentials with the experimental values is very satisfactory.  相似文献

The resonance donor effect of the , conjugation of R3M and R3MCH2 (M = Si, Ge, Sn; R is an alklyl group) substituents with the triple bond in compounds R3MC=CX and R3MCH2CCX (X = H, R) changes on passing from isolated molecules to their H-complexes. A partial + charge on the triple bond enhances , conjugation; a partial charge on the triple bond has practically no effect on the resonance properties of R3M substituents, whereas the , conjugation of R3MCH2 substituents diminishes owing to the effect of negative direct resonance interaction. The effect of , conjugation on the effective negative charges of the carbon atoms in the -CC- fragments was estimated quantitatively.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk.
