Summary Sulfated zirconia effectively catalyzes the reaction of carbonyl compounds with 1,2-ethanedithiol or thiophenol to afford the corresponding dithioacetals as useful organosulfur synthons. Isolation of pure products in high yields by simple filtration and evaporation is an important feature of this method.

Zusammenfassung ZrO₂/SO _2– ⁴ katalysiert die Reaktion von Carbonylverbindungen mit 1,2-Ethandiol oder Thiophenol zu den als Organoschwefelsynthonen wertvollen entrsprechenden Dithioacetalen. Ein wichtiges Merkmal der Methode ist die einfache Isolierung der Produkte in guten Ausbeuten durch Filtration und Entfernung des Lösungsmittels.

On the structure of guanylhydrazones derived from aromatic aldehydes

Summary The synthesis of some novel guanylhydrazones derived from aromatic aldehydes (benzylideneaminoguanidines) is described. Structural assignments of these compounds as well as of some already known congeners, particularly with respect to the configuration of the HC=N double bond, were achieved using¹H- and¹³C-NMR data as well as homonuclear NOE difference spectroscopy.

Zusammenfassung Die Synthese einiger neuer Guanylhydrazone abgeleitet von aromatischen Aldehyden (Benzylidenaminoguanidine) wird beschrieben. Summary The Cu(II) and Zn(II) chelates of 1,2,3,7,9-pentamethyldipyrrin and 1,2,3,7,9-pentamethyl-8-sulfodipyrrin are studied. When metal acetates are used for the formation of the metal complexes, dipyrrinate metal acetates could be detected as precursors of thebis-dipyrrinates.

Zusammenfassung Die Cu(II)- und Zn(II)-Chelate von 1,2,3,7,9-Pentamethyldipyrrin und 1,2,3,7,9-Pentadimethyl-8-sulfodipyrrin wurden untersucht. Bei Einsatz von Metalldiacetaten für die Komplexbildung wurden Dipyrrinmetallacetate als Vorläufer derbis-Dipyrrinate nachgewiesen.

Zusammenfassung Bilandione können auf einfache Art aus den entsprechenden alkylsubstituierten Bilin- order Biladien-ac-dionen durch Reduktion mit Natriumdithionit hergestellt werden. Summary Several substituted crowned phenoselenazin-16-one derivatives were prepared by condensation of substituted zinc 2-amino-benzeneselenolates with 1,4-quinone of benzo[15]crown-5 or its dibromide in alcoholic solution. The dehalogenation of the bromoselenazinones was also investigated.

Summary 16H-2,5,8,11,14-Pentaoxacyclopentadecano[2,3-a]phenoxazin-16-one, its 17-bromo analogue and 16-hydroxy-2,5,8,11,14-pentaoxacyclopentadecanophenoxazine were prepared by the reaction of 1,4-quinone of benzo[15]crown-5 or its dibromide with 2-aminophenol. Dehalogenation of the bromophenoxazinone was also investigated.

Summary One pyridinologous linear tripyrrole and two pyridinologous linear tetrapyrroles were prepared, and their structural aspects derived from spectroscopic measurements and force field calculations. Physical adsorption of gases on energetically heterogeneous solids II. Theoretical extension of a generalizedLangmuir equation and its application for analysing adsorption data

The generalizedLangmuir equation proposed in part I is extended to monolayer adsorption with lateral interactions and to multilayer adsorption on heterogeneous surfaces with random distribution of adsorption sites. New differential functions, useful for interpreting the adsorption data, are introduced to study the mathematical and physical properties of this equation. These functions are applied to study three gas adsorption systems available from the literature.

Zusammenfassung Die generalisierteLangmuir-Gleichung, die in der 1. Mitt. beschrieben wurde, wird für die einlagige Adsorption mit lateralen Wechselwirkungen und für die viellagige Adsorption auf heterogenen Oberflächen mit einer Zufallsverteilung von Adsorptionsplätzen erweitert. Es werden neue Differentialfunktionen zur Untersuchung der mathematischen und physikalischen Eigenschaften dieser Gleichung eingeführt, die sich als fruchtbringend zur Interpretation von Adsorptionsdaten erweisen. Diese Funktionen werden zur Untersuchung von drei Gasadsorptionssystemen aus der Literatur herangezogen.

Summary Prompted by the remarkable pharmacological activity shown by the corresponding carboxylic acids and other analogues, a series of 2-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine-3-acetic acids has been prepared. A multi-step method similar to a synthetic procedure used to obtain Zolpidem, an imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine with hypnotic properties has been developed.

Untersuchungen an heterocyclischen Verbindungen, 35. Mitt. Synthese von 2-Phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-3-acetaten

Zusammenfassung Angeregt durch die bemerkenswerte pharmakologische Aktivität der entsprechenden Carbonsäuren, wurde eine Reihe von 2-Phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-3-acetaten synthetisiert. Zu diesem Zweck wurde eine mehrstufige Methode analog zu jener zur Herstellung von Zolpidem, einem Imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin mit hypnotischen Eigenschaften, entwickelt.

     

A novel reaction of 11,11,12,12-tetracyanoanthraquinodimethane: The formation of 10-dicyanomethylene-anthrone hydrazone

Summary A novel reaction of 11,11,12,12-tetracyanoanthraquinodimethane — its transformation into 10-dicyanomethylene-anthrone hydrazone by reaction with hydrazine — is reported. This hydrazone seems to be a convenient starting material in the synthesis of anthracene derivatives and compounds incorporating anthracenic fragments, but is itself as a conjugated donor acceptor system a material with interesting physical properties.

Zusammenfassung Eine neue Reaktion von 11,11,12,12-Tetracyanoanthrachinodimethan — seine Umsetzung zum 10-Dicyanomethylen-anthronhydrazon durch Reaktion mit Hydrazin — wird beschrieben. Dieses Hydrazon könnte als Ausgangsmaterial für die Synthese von Anthracenderivaten dienen, zeigt aber auch selbst als konjugiertes Donor-Akzeptorsystem interessante physikalische Eigenschaften.
