Rapid, inexpensive, and efficient sample-preparation by dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) then gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC–FID) have been used for extraction and analysis of BTEX compounds (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes) in water samples. In this extraction method, a mixture of 25.0 μL carbon disulfide (extraction solvent) and 1.00 mL acetonitrile (disperser solvent) is rapidly injected, by means of a syringe, into a 5.00-mL water sample in a conical test tube. A cloudy solution is formed by dispersion of fine droplets of carbon disulfide in the sample solution. During subsequent centrifugation (5,000 rpm for 2.0 min) the fine droplets of carbon disulfide settle at the bottom of the tube. The effect of several conditions (type and volume of disperser solvent, type of extraction solvent, extraction time, etc.) on the performance of the sample-preparation step was carefully evaluated. Under the optimum conditions the enrichment factors and extraction recoveries were high, and ranged from 122–311 to 24.5–66.7%, respectively. A good linear range (0.2–100 μg L−1, i.e., three orders of magnitude; r 2 = 0.9991–0.9999) and good limits of detection (0.1–0.2 μg L−1) were obtained for most of the analytes. Relative standard deviations (RSD, %) for analysis of 5.0 μg L−1 BTEX compounds in water were in the range 0.9–6.4% (n = 5). Relative recovery from well and wastewater at spiked levels of 5.0 μg L−1 was 89–101% and 76–98%, respectively. Finally, the method was successfully used for preconcentration and analysis of BTEX compounds in different real water samples.

Sucralose (1,6-dichloro-1,6-dideoxy-β-d-fructofuranosyl-4-chloro-4-deoxy-α-d-galactopyranoside) is a high-intensity non-nutritive sweetener derived from sucrose. Determination of sucralose in food is important to ensure consistent product quality. The authors have developed a new method for determination of sucralose. The sucralose was converted into its trimethylsilyl (TMS) ether and qualitative and quantitative analysis were achieved by GC–MS and GC–FID, respectively, using myo-inositol ester as the internal standard. A good linear relationship between response and amount of sucralose TMS ether was obtained in the range 0.005–0.06 mg mL?1 (r = 0.9994). The detection limit was 0.25 ng.  相似文献

A simple method, direct-immersion sampling by solid-phase microextraction and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (DI-SPME–GC–MS), has been developed for determination of organochlorine pesticides (OCP) in plant infusions. The optimum conditions for SPME with a 100-m PDMS-coated fiber were established by using a central composite design. The extraction time and sample temperature established were 60 min and 50 °C, respectively. The method was validated and used to determine hexachlorobenzene, lindane, 4,4-DDE, aldrin, dieldrin, endrin, heptachlor, heptachlor epoxide, and 4,4-DDT in infusions of Mikania laevigata and Maytenus ilicifolia. Limits for quantitation for the OCP were between 0.2 and 2.0 ng g–1 except for lindane, for which the LOQ was higher (12 ng g–1), because of its low affinity for the PDMS fiber. Recovery was in the range 90 to 108% and the intra-assay precision was below 17%. Transfer of the OCP from the plant to the infusion was in the range 0.34 to 3.4% and was correlated with the solubility of each compound in water.  相似文献

A new, simple, and fully validated gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) method was presented for quantitative analysis of milnacipran (MNP) in human plasma. MNP was efficiently derivatized with N-methyl-N-trimethylsilyltrifluoroacetamide (MSTFA) before analysis. The role of catalyst, temperature, time, solvent on the trimethylsilylation reaction were evaluated. The proposed method was fully validated by assessment of the following parameters: limits of detection and quantitation, precision, accuracy, linearity, specificity, stability, extraction recovery and robustness/ruggedness. The limit of quantitation (LOQ) was 30 ng mL?1. The calibration curve was linear (r 2 > 0.9988) in the range 30–500 ng mL?1. The method was found specific, precise, accurate, selective and reliable according to validation data. This developed method was successfully applied to determine the steady state concentration of MNP in patients.  相似文献

This article describes a gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) method for the determination of flurbiprofen in pharmaceutical preparations. The method is based on the derivatization of flurbiprofen with N-methyl-N-(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (MSTFA). For GC–MS, electron ionization mode (EI = 70 eV) and selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode were used for quantitative analysis (m/z 180 for flurbiprofen). Calibration curve was linear between the concentration range of 0.25–5.0 μg/mL. Intra- and inter-day precision values for flurbiprofen were less than 3.64, and accuracy (relative error) was better than 2.67%. The mean recovery of flurbiprofen was 99.4% for pharmaceutical preparations. The limits of detection and quantification of flurbiprofen were 0.05 and 0.15 μg/mL, respectively. No interference was found from tablet excipients at the selected assay conditions. Also, the method was applied for the quality control of five commercial flurbiprofen dosage forms to quantify the drug and to check the formulation content uniformity.  相似文献

A novel and simple method for determination of 15 organic nitrogen-containing pesticides in vegetables using matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) coupled with gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (GC–MS–MS) has been developed. The efficiencies of different sorbents (florisil, silicone, neutral alumina) for the MSPD were compared. Mean recoveries of the method using neutral alumina varied from 73.26 to 111.83% with relative standard deviations of 0.79–15.33% in the concentration range of 0.01, 0.02 and 0.05 mg kg?1. The limits of detection were typically in the 0.0007–0.0320 mg kg?1 range, which were 10–100 times lower than the maximum residue levels established by the European Union. This method was applied to residue detection in vegetables, in which organic nitrogen-containing compounds were detected at low concentrations.  相似文献

Isotope-dilution analysis in combination with GC-ICP-MS detection has been applied to the determination of butyltin species in environmental samples. Different spikes containing the isotopically labeled butyltin species have been synthesized in the laboratory after optimization of the reaction conditions. The isotopic compositions of the tin species in the different spike solutions were determined by GC-ICP-MS after derivatization by aqueous ethylation with sodium tetraethylborate. Reverse isotope-dilution analysis was used for quantitation of the spike solutions by means of natural MBT, DBT, and TBT standards. The mixed spikes were used for simultaneous analysis of MBT, DBT and TBT in the certified reference materials, PACS-2, CRM 462, and CRM 646, with satisfactory results. The excellent agreement of the different speciation results obtained by use of the different spikes is a good indicator of the precision, accuracy, and reliability which can be achieved by using isotope-dilution analysis for trace metal speciation.Application of a double spike containing (119)Sn-enriched MBT (79.7 At%), (118)Sn-enriched DBT (86.7 At%), and (119)Sn-enriched TBT (83.1 At%) also enabled evaluation of the conditions resulting in quantitative extraction of the species from the solid matrix, in combination with possible alterations depending on the different extraction procedures used (mechanical shaking, ultrasounds, and microwaves). Mathematical equations used for this purpose computed the correct species concentrations directly and, additionally, the decomposition factors (from TBT to DBT and from DBT to MBT) after precise measurement of the (119)Sn/(120)Sn and (118)Sn/(120)Sn ratios for all butyltin species by GC-ICP-MS.  相似文献

A method was developed to simultaneously detect six resorcylic acid lactones in feed by GC–MS. Samples were extracted with methanol followed by a two step liquid–liquid extraction and an HLB SPE clean-up. The samples were derivatized with BSTFA + TMCS (99/1; v/v) and determined by GC–MS. For all analytes, the ranges of recoveries were 81.2–98.2%, with RSDs of 3.2–15.2%, and the LODs were 0.2–0.6 μg kg−1.

This paper presents the development, optimization and validation of a methodology to determine nine key steroid hormones (viz. pregnenolone, progesterone, dehydroepiandrosterone, androstenedione, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, estrone, 17α-estradiol and 17β-estradiol) expressed in the steroidogenesis in biological fluids. The analytical method allows for the determination of steroid hormones in blood plasma and serum down to 0.08–0.16 ng/mL for estrogens, 0.20–0.36 ng/mL for androgens and 0.36–0.43 ng/mL for progestagens. These limits of detection were obtainable using a two-step solid-phase clean-up for fractionation and elimination of interfering lipids (fatty acids, phospholipids, glycerides and sterols) from the steroid hormones. The accuracy of the method was 50–112% in the range 0.10 to 2.00 ng/mL.  相似文献

Water contamination due to the wide variety of pesticides used in agriculture practices is a global environmental pollution problem. Analytical methods with low quantification limits are necessary. The application of a new extraction technique, solvent drop microextraction (SDME), followed by gas chromatography with a nitrogen-phosphorus detector, was assessed for determining carbamates and organophosphorus pesticides in natural water. Experimental parameters which control the performance of SDME such as selection of microextraction solvent, optimization of organic drop volume, effects of sample stirring, salt addition, and, finally, sorption time profiles were studied. Once SDME was optimized, analytical parameters such as linearity (r 2>0.99), precision (<13%), and detection limits (0.2 to 5 μg/L), plus matrix effects were evaluated (no matrix effects were found). SDME is a dynamic technique able to extract pesticides from water in 14 min; the use of organic solvents and water samples for SDME is negligible compared to other extraction techniques.  相似文献

Estragole, a volatile phenylpropanoid contained in a variety of edible herbs, has been demonstrated to be genotoxic and carcinogenic, and its addition as a flavoring substance to foodstuffs has been banned by the regulatory bodies of the European Union. Fast and accurate analytical methods for its determination in herbs are thus necessary to assess the dietary exposure of this substance in humans and, in particular, to sensitive groups. In the present study, headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) combined with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) was applied for determination of estragole in infusions from different widely used commercial herbal teas based on Foeniculum vulgare (fennel) seeds. The optimized HS-SPME extraction conditions involved the use of a polydimethylsiloxane fiber exposed to the herbal infusion for 20 min at 50°C followed by GC–MS analysis. The method was fully validated for linearity, sensitivity, accuracy, and precision and applied to real samples; the level of estragole in infusions of commercial fennel seed teas was found to be within 50–250 µ`?1.  相似文献

A new offline-pyrolysis rig has been designed to allow multifunctional experiments for preparative and analytical purposes. The system conditions can be set and monitored, e.g. temperature, its gradients and heat flux. Some special features include (1) high heating rates up to 120 °C/s with pyrolysis temperatures up to 850 °C at variable pyrolysis times and (2) the selection of different atmospheres during pyrolysis. A complete mass balance of products and reactants (gas, liquids and solids) by gravimetric methods and sequential chromatographic analyses was obtained. The pyrolytic behaviour and the decomposition products of lignin-related compounds were studied under different conditions: heating rates (from 2.6 °C/s up to 120 °C/s), pyrolysis temperatures at 500 °C and 800 °C in different atmospheres (N2, H2, and mixtures of N2 and acetylene). Kraft lignin, soda lignin, organosolv lignin, pyrolytic lignin from pine bio-oil, residues from biomass hydrolysis and fermentation were studied. The obtained pyrolysis products were classified into three general groups: coke, liquid phase and gas phase (volatile organic compounds (VOC) and permanent gases). The liquid fraction was analysed by GC–MS/FID. In addition, comprehensive two-dimensional GC was applied to further characterise the liquid fraction. VOCs were semi-quantified by a modified headspace technique using GC–MS/FID analysis. The micro-pyrolysis rig proved to be an efficient and useful device for complex pyrolysis applications.  相似文献

A method suitable for the determination of 3-nitrotyrosine, a well known marker of nitro-oxidative stress, in plasma by GC–ECD has been investigated. After deproteinisation, SPE and LC separation, 3-nitrotyrosine was derivatised by a single-step procedure to the corresponding N-heptafluorobutyryl heptafluorobutyl ester and analysed. The precision and reliability of the procedure were assured by using 4-nitrophenylalanine as internal standard and a diverter valve to protect the detector. The method was applied to the analysis of volunteers’ plasma samples.  相似文献

Much effort has been made to analyze the pesticides in foods or vegetables due to the interferences in the sample matrix. In this work, taking the determination of prometryn in leek samples as an example, a simple method is proposed for fast analysis of the components in real samples using GC–MS and chemometric resolution. The purification step in preparing the samples was simplified, and a short capillary column and fast temperature program were employed in GC–MS measurement. Although the measured signal is composed of overlapped peaks with the interferences and background, the signal of prometryn can be extracted by chemometric resolution. Six leek samples from different markets were analyzed within an elution time of 6 min. Compared with the results by the standard method, the results by the proposed method were found to be reliable.

A rapid and simple procedure for the determination of antioxidants and preservatives in cosmetics has been developed utilizing solid-phase microextraction combined with GC–MS. A silica fiber coated with polyacrylate provided the highest extraction efficiency. Detection limits in the range from 0.4 to 8.5 ng mL−1 were obtained. Linearity is over a wide range from 1 to 2,000 ng mL−1 with a relative standard deviation under 16%. Cosmetic from a local supermarket were analysed for antioxidants and preservatives to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The concentration of antioxidants and preservatives determined was 20–1,218 μg g−1 for methylparaben and 5–3,779 μg g−1 for propylparaben.  相似文献

A simple method to detect 4-methylimidazole in soft drinks is described. This method is based on headspace solid-phase micro-extraction and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (HS-SPME GC–MS). The HS-SPME parameters (selection of fiber, extraction temperature, heating time, and pH) were optimized and selected. Under the established condition, the detection and the quantification limit were 1.9 and 6.0 μg L?1 using 4 mL of the liquid sample, respectively. The relative standard deviation for five independent determinations at 100.0 and 500.0 μg L?1 was less than 8 %. The calibration curve was y = 0.6027x–0.0033 with a linearity of r 2 = 0.997. Using the proposed method, the levels of 4-MEI were detected in a range from 94.0 to 324.8 μg L?1. The comparison of liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) with the proposed method was performed and the agreement with LC–MS/MS for all samples was acceptable.  相似文献
