Presently, online analysis in potassium fertilizers industry is performed by Natural Radioactivity Analyzers. Laser Distance Spectrometry (LDS) has tested, by laboratory scale, the possibility of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) technique implementation for online fertilizers production control. The main advantage of the system comparing to the existing technique is the principal possibility to analyze all relevant elements, such as K, Na, Mg, and not only K40 isotope as done in natural radiation analytical systems. Good correlations between online LIBS results with chemical analysis data of K, Na and Mg impurities of samples from Russia, Belarus and Israel demonstrate that LIBS system is a perspective tool for online control of those elements in field conditions.  相似文献

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is a form of optical emission spectroscopy that can be used for the rapid analysis of geological materials in the field under ambient environmental conditions. We describe here the innovative use of handheld LIBS for the in situ analysis of rock varnish. This thinly laminated and compositionally complex veneer forms slowly over time on rock surfaces in dryland regions and is particularly abundant across the Mojave Desert climatic region of east-central California (USA). Following the depth profiling examination of a varnished clast from colluvial gravel in Death Valley in the laboratory, our in situ analysis of rock varnish and visually similar coatings on rock surfaces was undertaken in the Owens and Deep Spring valleys in two contexts, element detection/identification and microchemical mapping. Emission peaks were recognized in the LIBS spectra for the nine elements most abundant in rock varnish—Mn, Fe, Si, Al, Na, Mg, K, Ca and Ba, as well as for H, Li, C, O, Ti, V, Sr and Rb. Focused follow-up laboratory and field studies will help understand rock varnish formation and its utility for weathering and chronological studies.  相似文献

Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) was applied for the elemental analysis of Arabian crude oil residue samples. The spectra due to trace elements such as Ca, Fe, Mg, Cu, Zn, Na, Ni, K and Mo were recorded using this technique. The dependence of time delay and laser beam energy on the elemental spectra was also investigated. Prior to quantitative analysis, the LIBS system was calibrated using standard samples containing these trace elements. The results achieved through this method were compared with conventional technique like inductively coupled plasma.  相似文献

The methods of neutron activation analysis (NAA) and atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) have been employed to determine the concentration levels of 18 trace elements in filter-collected airborne aerosols over an urban area in Nigeria. The highest concentrations measured in the samples were for Cl, Na, Al, Pb, Ca and Zn. The aerosol particles were found to contain higher concentrations of soil-derived trace elements, such as Al, Ti, K and Na than those derived from combustion and industrial activities such as As, Cd, Mn, Zn, Pb, Ni and Sb. The average precision of measurements varied between +/- 5.2% and 13% for most elements. Possible sources of the elements are also discussed.  相似文献

Chemical composition of PM10 was studied during the period of 2014–2015 in the city of São Carlos, Brazil (‘Dos Voluntários’ Square). PM10 samples were directly analysed by wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence – WD-XRF (Al, Ca, Ce, Cl, Fe, K, Mg, P, S, Si, Ti, V, and Zn), and by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy – LIBS (Ba, Ca, Fe, K, Mg, Na, Si and Ti) both for qualitative purposes. For quantitative analysis of Al, Ba, Ca, Fe, K, Na, S, and Zn, the analytes were extracted from samples of PM10 collected, in filters of glass fibre, with an extractive acid solution (HNO3 and HCl) and determined by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry – ICP OES. Spatial variations of elemental concentrations (ng m3) were significantly higher in winter Al (19.0), Ba (13.6), Ca (20.0), Na (27.0), S (37.1), and Zn (9.5), autumn showed the highest concentration of Na (26.4), spring showed the highest concentration of Fe (11.6), K (13.1) and also S (25.3) and summer did not show a high concentration in the comparison between the seasons at the site. Using principal component analysis (PCA), as a data interpretation tool, with the data obtained by the WD-XRF and LIBS it was not possible to obtain a good correlation, but with the data of ICP OES, it was possible to verify correlations between identified and determinate elements, with samples collected in the autumn, winter, spring and summer seasons in the city of São Carlos. These associated analytical techniques were excellent tools in environmental monitoring, through the analysis of PM10 samples, presenting reliable and efficiency strategy, and based on the PCA and the EF equation was possible to draw the profile of the possible origins of these elements in the city.  相似文献

In this work, laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) analysis of the soil samples collected from Aceh, a place in Indonesia worst affected by 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, was conducted. In the LIBS experimental system, a high energy pulsed laser beam was focused on the tsunami affected soil samples and the atomic emission lines, originating from the laser induced plasma were recorded using locally developed laser induced breakdown spectrometer. Our results show that the concentrations of many elements especially terrestrial markers, namely titanium, iron, and carbonate marker such as magnesium, are higher in the tsunami-affected samples than that in the unaffected samples collected from the same neighborhood. The quantification of Ti, Fe and Mg were carried out using Ti II 334.94, Fe I 438.35, and Mg I 277.98 nm atomic transition lines respectively by drawing the calibration curve by preparing the samples of known concentrations in unaffected soil matrix. In order to ensure accurate quantification, the local thermal equilibrium of the laser-induced plasma was verified using Mc Writher criterion, for which the plasma temperature was estimated using linearized Boltzmann plot for six iron atomic transition lines and the electron number density in the plasma was estimated using Stark broadened Fe I 540.4 nm atomic lines. The estimated temperature and electron number density of the laser induced plasma are 9642 K and 3.5 × 1016 cm?3 respectively. The concentrations of Ti, Fe and Mg in tsunami unaffected soil are 0.09, 3.2 and 0.02 w/w% and in tsunami affected soil are 0.14, 7.9 and 0.048 w/w% respectively. These values are in good agreement with XRF data. The elemental ratios extracted from LIBS signal intensity revealed that LIBS emission intensity ratios of several elements, such as Si/Ti, Al/Ti and Sr/Ba are potential candidates as the distinctive geochemical signature for identification the soil impacted and unimpacted by the 2004 Indian Ocean giant tsunami. The advantage of using LIBS for the elemental analysis is that the sample can be analyzed in its pristine form without any need cumbersome sample preparation method, which has the risk of bringing in external additives through chemicals used for the sample preparation. Using instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA), graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS), flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) and combustion elemental analysis, green coffees of the Arabica species produced in crop year 1987/88 in Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panamá and Papua New Guinea were analysed for the elements Ba, Br, C, Ca, Co, Cr, Cu, Cs, Fe, H, K, La, Mg, Mn, N, Na, Rb, Sc, Sr and Zn. In accordance with the concentrations determined, the elements could be ranked into five groups: Sc (sub-ppb level); Br, Co, Cr, Cs and La (ppb level); Ba, Cu, Fe, Mn, Na, Rb, Sr and Zn (ppm level); Ca and Mg (%o level); and C, H, K and N (% level). On the basis of the results obtained, an attempt was made to establish the origin of the green coffee via its elemental composition. Among the investigated elements, manganese was found to be best suited as an indicator for this purpose. However, the elements C, Co, Cs, Na and Rb proved to be of interest too.  相似文献

Mineral elements contained in commercially available milk powders, including seven infant formulae and one adult milk, were analyzed with inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). The purpose of this work was, through a direct comparison of the analytical results, to provide an assessment of the performance of LIBS, and especially of the procedure of calibration-free LIBS (CF-LIBS), to deal with organic compounds such as milk powders. In our experiments, the matrix effect was clearly observed affecting the analytical results each time laser ablation was employed for sampling. Such effect was in addition directly observed by determining the physical parameters of the plasmas induced on the different samples. The CF-LIBS procedure was implemented to deduce the concentrations of Mg and K with Ca as the internal reference element. Quantitative analytical results with CF-LIBS were validated with ICP-AES measurements and nominal concentrations specified for commercial milks. The obtained good results with the CF-LIBS procedure demonstrate its capacity to take into account the difference in physical parameters of the plasma in the calculation of the concentrations of mineral elements, which allows a significant reduction of the matrix effect related to laser ablation. We finally discuss the way to optimize the implementation of the CF-LIBS procedure for the analysis of mineral elements in organic materials.  相似文献

在自行设计的沉降炉内研究了燕麦秸秆燃烧灰中矿物质分布及沉积行为。采用X射线衍射(XRD)、扫描电镜能谱(SEM/EDS)及电子探针X射线显微(EPMA)对850℃下不同燃烧时间的沉积物进行分析,并结合化学热力学平衡计算,结果表明,燕麦秸秆燃烧的沉积物形成是碱金属挥发黏结作用使大小不同的燃料球团形成,内部伴随着氧化反应从而形成表面孔洞。钾长石是沉积物形成中起黏结和支撑作用的"骨架"的主要组成部分,在燕麦秸秆燃烧初始沉积中有重要作用。K、Al的分布密集而广泛,Na在一定程度上会促进K的活性,表面的部分碱金属逐渐挥发至气相,Fe、Ca、Mg等的相关化合物不断填充沉积物孔隙使其致密、硬化,最终各元素较均匀地分配。  相似文献

Soil bacteria are sensitive to ecological change and can be assessed to gauge anthropogenic influences and ecosystem health. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the focus on new technologies that can be applied to the evaluation of soil quality. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is a promising technique that has been used for the investigation and characterization of explosives, solids, liquids, gases, biological and environmental samples. In this study, bacteria from un-mined and a chronosequence of reclaimed bauxite soils were isolated on Luria–Bertani agar media. Polymerase chain reaction amplification of the bacterial 16S rDNA, sequencing, and phylogenetic analysis were applied to each isolated soil bacteria from the sample sites resulting in the identification and classification of the organisms. Femtosecond LIBS performed on the isolated bacteria showed atomic and ionic emission lines in the spectrum containing inorganic elements such as sodium (Na), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), zinc (Zn), and calcium (Ca). Principal component analysis and partial least squares regression analysis were performed on the acquired bacterial spectra demonstrating that LIBS has the potential to differentiate and discriminate among bacteria in the un-mined and reclaimed chronosequence of bauxite soils.  相似文献

运用热力学平衡计算方法(F*A*C*T)对O2/CO2循环燃烧方式下矿物元素的蒸发特性进行了研究,并采用高温热天平进行了实验验证。结果表明,各矿物元素蒸发的主要形态分别是Na(K)Cl(g), FeO(g)和SiO(g),反应气氛和温度对矿物元素蒸发形态和蒸发率有明显影响。O2/CO2循环燃烧方式下矿物元素的蒸发率均小于常规空气燃烧,尤其是还原性气氛中,当温度为2400 K时,常规空气燃烧矿物总蒸发率为9.65%,而O2/CO2循环燃烧方式矿物元素总蒸发率仅为4.46%。实验值比计算值略高,但主要趋势相同。  相似文献

Parchment from different sources has been analyzed by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) for determination of Ca, Na, K, Mg, Fe, Cu, and Mn. The LIBS results were compared with results from inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy (ICP) and good correlation was obtained. Rapid distinction between modern and historical samples was achieved by discriminant analysis of the LIBS data. Animal type recognition was also possible on the basis of Mg/Cu emission peak ratio and Mg depth profiling.  相似文献

Two-dimensional mapping of the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) signal of chemical species information in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and electrolytic oxy-hydrogen (EOH) flames was performed with in situ flame diagnostics. Base LIBS signals averaged from measurements at wavelengths of 320 nm to 350 nm describe the density information of a flame. The CN LIBS signal provides the concentration of fuel, while the H/O signal represents the fuel/air equivalence ratio. Here, we demonstrate the meaningful use of two-dimensional LIBS mappings to provide key combustion information, such as density, fuel concentration, and fuel/air equivalence ratio.  相似文献

Femtosecond laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) was used to identify the spatial resolution limitations and assess the minimal detectable mass restrictions in laser-ablation based chemical analysis. The atomic emission of sodium (Na) and potassium (K) dopants in transparent dielectric Mica matrices was studied, to find that both these elements could be detected from 450 nm diameter ablation craters, full-width-at-half-maximum (FWHM). Under optimal conditions, mass as low as 220 ag was measured, demonstrating the feasibility of using laser-ablation based chemical analysis to achieve high spatial resolution elemental analysis in real-time and at atmospheric pressure conditions.  相似文献

因高温、辐射等极端环境限制,核领域亟需具备在线快速检测特性的分析仪器。基于小型风冷脉冲激光器与小型光纤光谱仪实现了远程激光诱导击穿光谱技术(LIBS)装置的小型化,对该便携式远程LIBS系统的定量分析性能进行了研究,实现了5 m外样品的元素遥测。在单脉冲激光能量100 mJ,脉冲延时1.0 μs的分析条件下,实现了白水晶、陶瓷及铝合金样品中Mn、Si、Al、Na、Ba、Ca及Cr元素的激发,验证了LIBS技术对材料组分和物料成分的远程探测能力,对铝合金样品的定量分析结果显示,该远程遥测系统对铝合金样品定量测量结果的最大相对平均偏差为12%,具备执行核领域快速分析场景下的半定量检测能力。  相似文献

The key to understanding the sulfur history on Mars is to identify and determine sulfate and sulfide compositions and then to draw from them geologic clues about their environments of formation. To lay a foundation for use of remote LIBS to sulfur analysis in planetary exploration, we have undertaken a focused study of sulfur LIBS in geological samples in a simulated Mars atmosphere, with experimental parameters replicating the ChemCam LIBS instrument. A suite of twelve samples was selected, including rocks rich in minerals representative of sulfates and sulfides that might be encountered on Mars. Univariate analysis of sulfur emission lines did not provide quantitative information. Partial least squares (PLS) analysis was successful at modeling sulfur concentrations for a subset of samples with similar matrices. Sulfide minerals were identified on the basis of other siderophile or chalcophile peaks, such as those arising from Zn and Cu. Because the S lines are very weak compared to those of other elements, optimal PLS results were obtained by restricting the wavelength range to channels close to the most intense sulfur lines ~ 540-570 nm. Principal components analysis was attempted on the dataset, but did not differentiate the samples into meaningful groups because the sulfur lines are not strong enough. However, areas of the relatively weak S, H, and O peaks may be used to correctly classify all samples. Based on these outcomes, a flowchart that outlines a possible decision tree for identification and quantification of sulfur in remote LIBS analysis was constructed. Results suggest that LIBS data acquired under Mars conditions can meet the science requirements for the ChemCam instrument.  相似文献

以不同特性煤浆的炉内燃烧固体残留物为研究对象,对取自炉内不同部位及沉积于硅碳棒和灰污探针上的典型燃烧灰的化学成分、矿物组成、元素分布及微观结构等进行分析研究。结果表明,水煤浆灰样中含Al、Fe、Ca的化合物和矿物的质量分数高于黑液浆,Na、K、S、Cl的情况与此相反。Fe的富集是造成水煤浆沾污结渣的根本原因。Na和Fe是引起黑液浆沾污结渣的主要矿物元素,Na的作用比Fe更大。黑液浆灰样中含有大量的霞石和硫酸钠等低熔融温度富钠化合物,Na是引起沾污结渣的根源。微观分析结果与实际燃烧状况是一致的,黑液浆结渣特性强于水煤浆,并且二者的灰沉积机理是不同的。  相似文献

Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) coupled with a laser ablation time of flight mass spectrometer (LA-TOF-MS) has been developed for discrimination/analysis of the precious gold alloys cartage. Five gold alloys of Karats 18K, 19K, 20K, 22K and 24K having certified composition of gold as 75, 79, 85, 93 and 99.99% were tested and their precise elemental compositions were determined using the laser produced plasma technique. The plasma was generated by focusing beam of a Nd:YAG laser on the target in air and its time integrated emission spectra were registered in the range 250–870 nm. The calibration free LIBS technique (CF-LIBS) was used for the quantitative determination of the constituent elements present in different Karats of gold. Elemental compositions of these gold alloys were also determined using a Laser Ablation time of flight mass spectrometer (LA-TOF-MS). The LIBS limit of detection was calculated from the calibration curves for copper, silver and gold. Results of CF-LIBS and LA-TOF-MS are in excellent agreement with the certified values. It is demonstrated that LIBS coupled with LA-TOF-MS is an efficient technique that can be used to analyze any precious alloys in a fraction of a second.  相似文献

The chemical composition of aerosols emitted during coal combustion was studied as a function of particle size down to 0.01 m. The aerosol collections were carried out in a 81 MW capacity boiler that burned Venezuelan coal in a circulating fluidized bed combustion chamber. The samples were analyzed with upstream of the electrostatic precipitator using a Berner low-pressure impactor, which was quipped with a cyclone pre-cutter to avoid overloading of the first impaction stages. The samples were analyzed by INAA for up to about 40 elements. The elemental concentrations in the particulate matter for each impaction stage were plotted as a function of stage number (particle size). For the elements Na, Al, K, Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Ga, La and Sm, the concentration variation was limited to a factor of 2 to 4, and the concentrations of these elements were lower for the initial and final impactor stages than for the intermediate particle sizes. The variations were also limited to a factor of 2–4 for Mn, Fe, As, Sb and Th, butall these elements showed increasing concentrations with decreasing particle size. Still other elements, such as Ni, Cr, Co, Za, W, Mo and the halogens, were highly enriched (up to 20–100 fold) in the fine particles when compared with the coarse particles.  相似文献

The laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is an applied physical technique that has shown in recent years its great potential for rapid qualitative analysis of materials. Thanks to the possibility to implement a portable instrument that perform LIBS analysis, this technique is revealed to be particularly useful for in situ analysis in the field of cultural heritages. The purpose of this work is to evaluate the potentiality of LIBS technique in the field of cultural heritages, with respect to the chemical characterization of complex matrix as calcareous and refractory materials for further quantitative analyses on cultural heritages. X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyses were used as reference. Calibration curves of certified materials used as standards were obtained by XRF analyses. The LIBS measurements were performed with a new mobile instrument called Modì (Mobile Double pulse Instrument for LIBS Analysis). The XRF analyses were performed with a portable instrument ArtTAX. LIBS and XRF measurement were performed on both reference materials and samples (bricks and mortars) sampled in the ancient Greek–Roman Theatre of Taormina. Although LIBS measurements performed on reference materials have shown non linear response to concentrations, and so we were not able to obtain quantitative results, an integrated study of XRF and LIBS signals permitted us to distinguish among chemical features and degradation state of measured building materials.  相似文献
