We consider Gibbs measures on the configuration space \(S^{{\mathbb {Z}}^d}\), where mostly \(d\ge 2\) and S is a finite set. We start by a short review on concentration inequalities for Gibbs measures. In the Dobrushin uniqueness regime, we have a Gaussian concentration bound, whereas in the Ising model (and related models) at sufficiently low temperature, we control all moments and have a stretched-exponential concentration bound. We then give several applications of these inequalities whereby we obtain various new results. Amongst these applications, we get bounds on the speed of convergence of the empirical measure in the sense of Kantorovich distance, fluctuation bounds in the Shannon–McMillan–Breiman theorem, fluctuation bounds for the first occurrence of a pattern, as well as almost-sure central limit theorems.  相似文献

Can one detect a phase transition from a single, large sample of a Gibbs measure? What information does one get on the other Gibbs distributions with the same potential? We approach these questions via Erd?s-Rényi laws. In particular we prove almost-sure limit theorems for sets of empirical distributions of sub-samples of the given one: for suitable sub-samples size this set converges to the set of stationary Gibbs measures. Moreover we formulate Erd?s-Rényi laws for general families of random variables with suitable large deviation principles.  相似文献

In this note we prove a correlation inequality for local variables of a Gibbs field based on the connectivity in a random cluster representation of the non overlap configuration distribution of two independent copies of the field. As a consequence, we show that absence of a particular type of percolation (of Machta–Newman–Stein blue bonds) implies uniqueness of Gibbs distribution in EA Spin Glasses. In dimension two this could constitute a step towards a proof that the critical temperature is zero.  相似文献

The Dobrushin comparison theorem is a powerful tool to bound the difference between the marginals of high-dimensional probability distributions in terms of their local specifications. Originally introduced to prove uniqueness and decay of correlations of Gibbs measures, it has been widely used in statistical mechanics as well as in the analysis of algorithms on random fields and interacting Markov chains. However, the classical comparison theorem requires validity of the Dobrushin uniqueness criterion, essentially restricting its applicability in most models to a small subset of the natural parameter space. In this paper we develop generalized Dobrushin comparison theorems in terms of influences between blocks of sites, in the spirit of Dobrushin–Shlosman and Weitz, that substantially extend the range of applicability of the classical comparison theorem. Our proofs are based on the analysis of an associated family of Markov chains. We develop in detail an application of our main results to the analysis of sequential Monte Carlo algorithms for filtering in high dimension.  相似文献

We consider independent percolation, Ising and Potts models, and the contact process, on infinite, locally finite, connected graphs. It is shown that on graphs with edge-isoperimetric Cheeger constant sufficiently large, in terms of the degrees of the vertices of the graph, each of the models exhibits more than one critical point, separating qualitatively distinct regimes. For unimodular transitive graphs of this type, the critical behaviour in independent percolation, the Ising model and the contact process are shown to be mean-field type. For Potts models on unimodular transitive graphs, we prove the monotonicity in the temperature of the property that the free Gibbs measure is extremal in the set of automorphism invariant Gibbs measures, and show that the corresponding critical temperature is positive if and only if the threshold for uniqueness of the infinite cluster in independent bond percolation on the graph is less than 1. We establish conditions which imply the finite-island property for independent percolation at large densities, and use those to show that for a large class of graphs the q-state Potts model has a low temperature regime in which the free Gibbs measure decomposes as the uniform mixture of the q ordered phases. In the case of non-amenable transitive planar graphs with one end, we show that the q-state Potts model has a critical point separating a regime of high temperatures in which the free Gibbs measure is extremal in the set of automorphism-invariant Gibbs measures from a regime of low temperatures in which the free Gibbs measure decomposes as the uniform mixture of the q ordered phases. We provide a formal definition and study the basic properties of partially ordered random fields (PORF). These systems were proposed to model textures in image processing and to represent independence relations between random variables in statistics (in the latter case they are known as Bayesian networks). Our random fields are a generalization of probabilistic cellular automata (PCA) and their theory has features intermediate between that of discrete-time processes and the theory of statistical mechanical lattice fields. Its proper definition is based on the notion of partially ordered specification (POS), in close analogy to the theory of Gibbs measures. This paper contains two types of results. First, we present the basic elements of the general theory of PORFs: basic geometrical issues, definition in terms of conditional probability kernels, extremal decomposition, extremality and triviality, reconstruction starting from single-site kernels, relations between POM and Gibbs fields. Second, we prove three uniqueness criteria that correspond to the criteria known as uniform boundedness, Dobrushin uniqueness and disagreement percolation in the theory of Gibbs measures.  相似文献

We consider lattice spin systems with short-range but random and unbounded interactions. We give an elementary proof of uniqueness of Gibbs measures at high temperature or strong magnetic fields, and of the exponential decay of the corresponding quenched correlation functions. The analysis is based on the study of disagreement percolation (as initiated by van den Berg and Maes).Partially supported by EC grant CHRX-CT93-0411.  相似文献

We establish bounds for the measure of deviation sets associated to continuous observables with respect to not necessarily invariant weak Gibbs measures. Under some mild assumptions, we obtain upper and lower bounds for the measure of deviation sets of some non-uniformly expanding maps, including quadratic maps and robust multidimensional non-uniformly expanding local diffeomorphisms. For that purpose, a measure theoretical weak form of specification is introduced and proved to hold for the robust classes of multidimensional non-uniformly expanding local diffeomorphisms and Viana maps.  相似文献

In the present work we construct non-Gaussian self-similar random fields with hierarchical structure. The construction is based on non-Gaussian solutions of the main nonlinear equation of the hierarchical models theory. The existence of such solutions was proved originally by Sinai and the author and later by another method by Collet and Eckmann. Next we establish the uniqueness of a Gibbs state for the constructed self-similar field. Finally for a class of hierarchical models we prove the convergence of renormalization transformations of a random field at the critical point to the self-similar field.  相似文献

Gibbs states of an infinite system of interacting quantum particles are considered. Each particle moves on a compact Riemannian manifold and is attached to a vertex of a graph (one particle per vertex). Two kinds of graphs are studied: (a) a general graph with locally finite degree, (b) a graph with globally bounded degree. In case (a), the uniqueness of Gibbs states has been shown under the condition that the interaction potentials are uniformly bounded by a sufficiently small constant. In case (b), the interaction potentials are random. Here, under a certain condition imposed on the probability distribution of these potentials, the almost sure uniqueness of Gibbs states has been shown.  相似文献

We investigate one-dimensional continuum grandcanonical Gibbs states corresponding to finite range superstable many-body potentials. Absence of phase transitions in the sense of uniqueness of the tempered Gibbs state is proved for potentials without hard-core by first proving uniqueness of the Gibbs measures for related hard-core potentials and then taking an appropriate limit of those Gibbs measures.  相似文献

We show the equivalence of the Gibbs ensembles at the level of measures for one-dimensional Markov-Systems with arbitrary boundary conditions. That is, the limit of the microcanonical Gibbs ensemble is a Gibbs measure with an interaction depending on the microcanonical constraint. In fact the usual microcanonical condition is replaced by the sharper constraint that all type frequencies of neighboring spins (including the boundary spins) are fixed. When conditioning on a set of different frequencies of neighboring spins compatible with physical quantities like energy density we get the usual microcanonical ensemble. We show that the limit is a Gibbs measure for a nearest neighbor potential depending on the pair measure which maximizes the entropy on the given set of pair measures. For this we show the large deviation property of the pair empirical measure for arbitrary boundary conditions. We establish analogous results for finite range potentials.  相似文献

We consider a family of determinantal random point processes on the two-dimensional lattice and prove that members of our family can be interpreted as a kind of Gibbs ensembles of nonintersecting paths. Examples include probability measures on lozenge and domino tilings of the plane, some of which are non-translation-invariant. The correlation kernels of our processes can be viewed as extensions of the discrete sine kernel, and we show that the Gibbs property is a consequence of simple linear relations satisfied by these kernels. The processes depend on infinitely many parameters, which are closely related to parametrization of totally positive Toeplitz matrices.  相似文献

For a general class of lattice spin systems, we prove that an abstract Gaussian concentration bound implies positivity of the lower relative entropy density. As a consequence, we obtain uniqueness of translation-invariant Gibbs measures from the Gaussian concentration bound in this general setting. This extends earlier results with a different and very short proof.  相似文献

We prove for a general class of Gibbsian Random Field on that the set of tempered Gibbs states is compact. This class contains the Euclidean random fields. Moreover if the interaction is attractive, there is a unique minimal and maximal Gibbs state and +×± are unique translation invariant ant and have the global Markov property. We also prove that uniqueness of the tempered Gibbs state is equivalent to the magnetizationsm ±=±(q x ) being equal which is true if the pressure is differentiable.  相似文献

We study a class of dissipative nonlinear PDE's forced by a random force ηomega( t , x ), with the space variable x varying in a bounded domain. The class contains the 2D Navier–Stokes equations (under periodic or Dirichlet boundary conditions), and the forces we consider are those common in statistical hydrodynamics: they are random fields smooth in t and stationary, short-correlated in time t. In this paper, we confine ourselves to “kick forces” of the form
where the η k 's are smooth bounded identically distributed random fields. The equation in question defines a Markov chain in an appropriately chosen phase space (a subset of a function space) that contains the zero function and is invariant for the (random) flow of the equation. Concerning this Markov chain, we prove the following main result (see Theorem 2.2): The Markov chain has a unique invariant measure. To prove this theorem, we present a construction assigning, to any invariant measure, a Gibbs measure for a 1D system with compact phase space and apply a version of Ruelle–Perron–Frobenius uniqueness theorem to the corresponding Gibbs system. We also discuss ergodic properties of the invariant measure and corresponding properties of the original randomly forced PDE. Received: 24 January 2000 / Accepted: 17 February 2000  相似文献

We consider massless Gaussian fields with covariance related to the Green function of a long range random walk on Êd. These are viewed as Gibbs measures for a linear-quadratic interaction. We establish thermodynamic identities and prove a version of Gibbs' variational principle, showing that translation invariant Gibbs measures are characterized as minimizers of the relative entropy density. We then study the large deviations of the empirical field of a Gibbs measure. We show that a weak large deviation principle holds at the volume order, with rate given by the relative entropy density.  相似文献

We evaluate the scale at which the multifractal structure of some random Gibbs measures becomes discernible. The value of this scale is obtained through what we call the growth speed in Hölder singularity sets of a Borel measure. This growth speed yields new information on the multifractal behavior of the rescaled copies involved in the structure of statistically self-similar Gibbs measures. Our results are useful to understand the multifractal nature of various heterogeneous jump processes.  相似文献
