Higher-loop integrability in gauge theory

The dilatation operator measures scaling dimensions of local operator in a conformal field theory. Algebraic methods of constructing the dilatation operator in four-dimensional N=4 gauge theory are reviewed. These led to the discovery of novel integrable spin chain models in the planar limit. Making use of Bethe ansätze a superficial discrepancy in the AdS/CFT correspondence was found, we discuss this issue and give a possible resolution. To cite this article: N. Beisert, C. R. L'opérateur de dilatation mesure les dimensions d'échelles des opérateurs locaux des théories conformes des champs. Nous passons en revue les méthodes algébriques de construction de l'opérateur de dilatation pour la théorie de jauge N=4 en quatre dimensions. Ceci nous a conduit à découvrir, dans la limite planaire, de nouveaux modèles intégrables de chaînes de spin. En utilisant l'ansätze de Bethe une incompatibilité avec la correspondance AdS/CFT fut découverte, nous discutons ce problème et une résolution possible. Pour citer cet article : N. Beisert, C. R. Semiclassical relativistic strings in and long scalar operators in SYM theory

We review recent progress in quantitative checking of AdS/CFT duality in the sector of ‘semiclassical’ string states dual to ‘long’ scalar N=4 super Yang–Mills operators. In particular, we describe the effective action approach, in which the same sigma model type action describing coherent states is shown to emerge from the AdS₅×S⁵ string action and from an integrable spin chain Hamiltonian representing the SYM dilatation operator. Nous passons en revue les progrès récents sur les vérifications quantitatives de la dualité AdS/CFT dans le régime où les états « semiclassiques » de cordes sont du aux « longs » opérateurs scalaires de la théorie de super Yang–Mills N=4. En particulier, nous décrivons l'approche effective, dans laquelle le modèle sigma décrivant les états cohérents est montré émerger de l'action de la corde sur AdS₅×S⁵ et de l'Hamiltonien d'une chaîne de spin intégrable représentant l'opérateur de dilatation en SYM. Logarithmic corrections to entropy and AdS/CFT

We calculate the correction to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy formula for five-dimensional AdS-Schwarzschild black holes due to thermodynamic fluctuations. The result is then compared with the boundary gauge theory entropy corrections via AdS/CFT correspondence.     

The Hopf superalgebra of AdS/CFT

We describe the unconventional infinite-dimensional Hopf superalgebra related to the integrable S-matrix of the AdS/CFT correspondence, and discuss its typical and atypical representations.     

[Review] An Introduction to AdS/CFT Correspondence forPhenomenologists

We give a brief introduction to the AdS/CFT correspondence and its application to QCD physics, especially its application in the study of quark-gluon-plasma(QGP) formed in the relativistic heavy ion collision (RHIC). This review is based on the talksgiven in several schools and programs for the phenomenologists working on nuclear physicsand particle physics.     

Holographic dynamics of unstable branes in AdS

The gauge theory dual to the decay of an unstable D-particle in AdS is analysed in terms of coherent states. We discuss in detail how to count the number of particles in the decay product. We find, in agreement with the analysis in flat space, that the emission amplitude is suppressed as the mass of the radiated particles increases. To cite this article: M. Zamaklar, K. Peeters, C. R. La théorie de jauge duale à la désintégration de D-particules instables dans AdS est analysée en termes d'état cohérents. Nous discutons en détails le comptage du nombre de particule dans le produit de désintégration. Parton energy loss in strongly coupled AdS/CFT

This is a brief review of the theory and phenomenology of parton energy loss in strongly coupled field theories with a gravity dual and its comparison with parton energy loss in QCD at weak coupling.

In this paper, we study the static dielectric function and interaction potential in strong coupling limit with AdS/CFT correspondence. The dielectric function is depressed compared with that in weak coupling. The interaction potential then presents a weaker screening characteristics in strong coupling, which indicates a smaller Debye mass compared with weak coupling.

We apply an AdS/CFT-inspired color-dipole model which contains only three free parameters to describe the HERA data for the inclusive structure function F 2 at small Bjorken-x and virtuality.We found that the saturation scale in our AdS/CFT-based parameterization varies in the range of 1 ÷ 3 GeV becoming independent of energy/Bjorken-x at very small x.This leads to the prediction of x-independence of the structure functions at very small x.With the fitted parameters in our model,the predictions for F 2,longitudinal structure function,charm structure function and total photo-production cross-sections in the kinematic regions of future experiments can be given.     

Parton saturation at strong coupling from AdS/CFT

I describe the parton picture at strong coupling emerging from the gauge/gravity duality, with emphasis on the universality of the phenomenon of parton saturation. I discuss several consequences of this picture for the phenomenology of a strongly coupled quark–gluon plasma, which are potentially relevant for heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC.

Charm structure functions and gluon shadowing effects with the AdS/CFT model

By means of the UGD function extracted from an AdS/CFT inspired saturation model, the charm and bottom structure functions are studied in fixed-order perturbation theory. It is shown that the theoretical results are in good agreement with the recent HERA data. Then, this UGD function is also used to investigate net-kaon rapidity distribution in Au+Au collisions at RHIC energies and the theoretical results fit well to the BRAHMS data. In the end of this paper, we give the predicted results for nuclear charm structure function at very small x where the popular shadowing parameterizations are invalid.     

Short and Long SU(2, 2/4) Multiplets in the AdS/CFT Correspondence

We analyze short and long multiplets which appear in the OPE expansion of chiral primary operators in N=4 Super Yang–Mills theory. Among them, higher spin long and new short multiplets appear having the interpretation in the AdS/CFT correspondence of string states and supergravity multiparticle states, respectively. We also analyze the decomposition of long multiplets under N=1 supersymmetry as a possible tool exploring other supersymmetric deformations of IIB string on AdS₅×S₅.     

Note on the massive Rarita-Schwinger field in the AdS/CFT correspondence

We consider a massive Rarita-Schwinger field on the Anti-de Sitter space and solve the corresponding equations of motion. We show that appropriate boundary terms calculated on-shell give two-point correlation functions for spin-3/2 fields of the conformal field theory on the boundary. The relation between Rarita-Schwinger field masses and conformal dimensions of corresponding operators is established.     

Holographic p-Wave Superconductors in Quintessence AdS Black Hole Spacetime

We construct a holographic p-wave superconductor model in the background of quintessence AdS black hole with an SU(2)Yang–Mills gauge field and then probe the efects of quintessence on the holographic p-wave superconductor.We investigate the relation between the critical temperature and the state parameter of quintessence,and present the numerical results for electric conductivity.It is shown that the condensation of the vector field becomes harder as the absolute value of the state parameter increases.Unlike the scalar condensate in the s-wave model,the condensation of the vector field in p-wave model can occur in the total value range of the state parameter wq of quintessence.These results could help us know more about holographic superconductor and dark energy.
