In this paper, we introduce the notion ofspectral distribution which is a generalization of the spectral measure. This notion is closely related to distribution semigroups and generalized scalar operators. The associated operator (called themomentum of the spectral distribution) has a functional calculus defined for infinitely differentiable functions on the real line. Our main result says thatA generating a smooth distribution group of orderk is equivalent to having ak-times integrated group that are O(¦ k ) oriA being the momentum of a spectral distribution of degreek. We obtain the standard version of Stone's theorem as a special case of this result. The standard properties of a functional calculus together with spectral mapping theorem are derived. Finally, we show how the degree of a spectral distribution is related to the degree of the nilpotent operators which separate its momentum from its scalar part.  相似文献

The various essential spectra of a linear operator have been surveyed byB. Gramsch andD. Lay [4]. In this paper we characterize the essential spectra and the related quantities nullity, defect, ascent and descent of bounded spectral operators. It is shown that a number of these spectra coincide in the case of a spectral or a scalar type operator. Some results known for normal operators in Hilbert space are extended to spectral operators in Banach space.  相似文献

If p is in (1,∞)?{2}, and , i.e., if M is an Lp(γ)uniform spectral multiplier of in our terminology, and M is continuous on , then M extends to a bounded holomorphic function on the sector . Furthermore, if p=1 a spectral multiplier M, continuous on , satisfies the condition if and only if M extends to a bounded holomorphic function on the right half-plane, and its boundary value M(i·) on the imaginary axis is the Euclidean Fourier transform of a finite Borel measure on the real line. We prove similar results for uniform spectral multipliers of second order elliptic differential operators in divergence form on belonging to a wide class, which contains . We construct conjugate operators for the real part of a completely non-unitary isometry and we give applications to the spectral and scattering theory of a class of operators on (complete) Fock spaces, natural generalizations of the Schrödinger operators on trees. We consider C*-algebras generated by such Hamiltonians with certain types of anisotropy at infinity, we compute their quotient with respect to the ideal of compact operators, and give formulas for the essential spectrum of these Hamiltonians.  相似文献

It is proved that if A,B∈(?-H)∪(p-H), then, for all complex λ, , the ascent of (dAB-λ)?1, and dAB satisfies the range-kernel orthogonality inequality ‖X‖?‖X-(dAB-λ)Y‖ for all X∈(dAB-λ)-1(0) and YB(H). Furthermore, isolated points of σ(dAB) are simple poles of the resolvent of dAB. Using Scott Brown's techniques, J. Eschmeier and B. Prunaru showed that if T is the restriction of a decomposable (or S-decomposable) operator B to an invariant subspace such that (T) is dominating in C/S for some closed set S, then T has an invariant subspace. In the present paper we prove various invariant subspace theorems by weakening the decomposability condition on B and strengthening the thickness condition on (T).The research is supported by a grant from the Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IRAN).  相似文献

It is shown that for every positive order continuous Riesz operatorT, defined on an order complete complex Banach latticeE which is separated by its Köthe dual, there exists a Frobenius decomposition ofE into a countable number of disjoint principalT-bands and a band on whichT is quasi-nilpotent. A basis for the generalized eigenspace ofT pertaining to its maximal eigenvalue is constructed and the positivity properties of its elements are studied. The distinguished eigenvalues ofT are characterized and it is also shown that the theory ofT-bands is symmetric with respect to the duality which exists betweenE and its Köthe dual. In this paper, we consider the symmetric q-Dirac operator. We describe dissipative, accumulative, self-adjoint and the other extensions of such operators with general boundary conditions. We construct a self-adjoint dilation of dissipative operator. Hence, we determine the scattering matrix of dilation.
