We study a Lotka-Volterra type competition system with bistable nonlinearity in which the habitat is divided into discrete niches. We show that there exist non-monotone stationary solutions when the migration coefficients are sufficiently small. Also, we prove that the propagation failure phenomenon occurs. Finally, we focus on the traveling wave with nonzero wave speed. By investigating the asymptotic behavior of tails of wave profiles, we show that nonzero speed wave profiles are monotone. Moreover, the nonzero wave speed is unique in the sense that the wave cannot propagate with two different nonzero wave speeds.  相似文献

This work investigates the existence of monotonic traveling wave and standing wave solutions of RTD-based cellular neural networks in the one-dimensional integer lattice . For nonzero wave speed c, applying the monotone iteration method with the aid of real roots of the corresponding characteristic function of the profile equation, we can partition the parameter space (γ,δ)-plane into four regions such that all the admissible monotonic traveling wave solutions connecting two neighboring equilibria can be classified completely. For the case of c=0, a discrete version of the monotone iteration scheme is established for proving the existence of monotonic standing wave solutions. Furthermore, if γ or δ is zero then the profile equation for the standing waves can be viewed as an one-dimensional iteration map and we then prove the multiplicity results of monotonic standing waves by using the techniques of dynamical systems for maps. Some numerical results of the monotone iteration scheme for traveling wave solutions are also presented.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with traveling waves of reaction-diffusion systems. The definition of coupled quasi-upper and quasi-lower solutions is introduced for systems with mixed quasimonotone functions, and the definition of ordered quasi-upper and quasi-lower solutions is also given for systems with quasimonotone nondecreasing functions. By the monotone iteration method, it is shown that if the system has a pair of coupled quasi-upper and quasi-lower solutions, then there exists at least a traveling wave solution. Moreover, if the system has a pair of ordered quasi-upper and quasi-lower solutions, then there exists at least a traveling wavefront. As an application we consider the delayed system of a mutualistic model.  相似文献

This paper deals with front propagation for discrete periodic monostable equations. We show that there is a minimal wave speed such that a pulsating traveling front solution exists if and only if the wave speed is above this minimal speed. Moreover, in comparing with the continuous case, we prove the convergence of discretized minimal wave speeds to the continuous minimal wave speed.  相似文献

We study traveling front solutions for a two-component system on a one-dimensional lattice. This system arises in the study of the competition between two species with diffusion (or migration), if we divide the habitat into discrete regions or niches. We consider the case when the nonlinear source terms are of Lotka–Volterra type and of monostable case. We first show that there is a positive constant (the minimal wave speed) such that a traveling front exists if and only if its speed is above this minimal wave speed. Then we show that any wave profile is strictly monotone. Moreover, under some conditions, we show that the wave profile is unique (up to translations) for a given wave speed. Finally, we characterize the minimal wave speed by the parameters in the system.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the monotonicity and uniqueness of traveling waves for a reaction-diffusion model with quiescent stage. We first obtain the exponential decay rate of wave profiles, and then we show that any profile is strictly monotone by using the strong comparison principle. Furthermore, we prove the uniqueness (up to translation) of all traveling waves including even the waves with minimal speed.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence of camel-like traveling wave solutions of cellular neural networks distributed in the one-dimensional integer lattice . The dynamics of each given cell depends on itself and its nearest m left neighbor cells with instantaneous feedback. The profile equation of the infinite system of ordinary differential equations can be written as a functional differential equation in delayed type. Under appropriate assumptions, we can directly figure out the solution formula with many parameters. When the wave speed is negative and close to zero, we prove the existence of camel-like traveling waves for certain parameters. In addition, we also provide some numerical results for more general output functions and find out oscillating traveling waves numerically.  相似文献

We study the existence of traveling wave fronts for a reaction-diffusion equation with spatio-temporal delays and small parameters. The equation reduces to a generalized Fisher equation if small parameters are zero. We present two results. In the first one, we deal with the equation with very general kernels and show the persistence of Fisher wave fronts for all sufficiently small parameters. In the second one, we deal with some particular kernels, with which the nonlocal equation can be reduced to a system of singularly perturbed ODEs, and we are then able to apply the geometric singular perturbation theory and phase plane arguments to this system to show the existence of the minimal wave speed, the existence of a continuum of wave fronts, and the global uniqueness of the physical wave front with each wave speed.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the spatial dynamics of a nonlocal and time-delayed reaction-diffusion system, which is motivated by an age-structured population model with distributed maturation delay. The spreading speed c*, the existence of traveling waves with the wave speed c?c*, and the nonexistence of traveling waves with c<c* are obtained. It turns out that the spreading speed coincides with the minimal wave speed for monotone traveling waves.  相似文献

This is the second part of a series of study on the stability of traveling wavefronts of reaction-diffusion equations with time delays. In this paper we will consider a nonlocal time-delayed reaction-diffusion equation. When the initial perturbation around the traveling wave decays exponentially as x→−∞ (but the initial perturbation can be arbitrarily large in other locations), we prove the asymptotic stability of all traveling waves for the reaction-diffusion equation, including even the slower waves whose speed are close to the critical speed. This essentially improves the previous stability results by Mei and So [M. Mei, J.W.-H. So, Stability of strong traveling waves for a nonlocal time-delayed reaction-diffusion equation, Proc. Roy. Soc. Edinburgh Sect. A 138 (2008) 551-568] for the speed with a small initial perturbation. The approach we use here is the weighted energy method, but the weight function is more tricky to construct due to the property of the critical wavefront, and the difficulty arising from the nonlocal nonlinearity is also overcome. Finally, by using the Crank-Nicholson scheme, we present some numerical results which confirm our theoretical study.  相似文献

In a plane media with almost periodic vertical striations, we study a curvature flow and construct two kinds of traveling waves, one having a straight line like profile and the other having a V shaped profile. For each of the first-kind traveling waves, its profile is the graph of a function whose derivative is almost periodic. For each of the second-kind traveling waves, its profile is like a pulsating cone, whose two tails approach asymptotically the profiles of the first-kind traveling waves. Also we consider a homogenization problem and provide an explicit formula for the homogenized traveling speed.  相似文献

We study the existence, uniqueness, global asymptotic stability and propagation failure of traveling wave fronts in a lattice delayed differential equation with global interaction for a single species population with two age classes and a fixed maturation period living in a spatially unbounded environment. In the bistable case, under realistic assumptions on the birth function, we prove that the equation admits a strictly monotone increasing traveling wave front. Moreover, if the wave speed does not vanish, then the wave front is unique (up to a translation) and globally asymptotic stable with phase shift. Of particular interest is the phenomenon of “propagation failure” or “pinning” (that is, wave speed c = 0), we also give some criteria for pinning in this paper.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a very general non-local lattice differential equation with delay. We obtain the existence of the asymptotic speed of propagation, the existence and uniqueness of the traveling wavefront and the minimal speed of the traveling wavefront for the system. We also confirm that the asymptotic speed of propagation and the minimal speed of the traveling wavefront coincide.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the traveling wave solutions of a delayed diffusive SIR epidemic model with nonlinear incidence rate and constant external supplies. We find that the existence of traveling wave solutions is determined by the basic reproduction number of the corresponding spatial‐homogenous delay differential system and the minimal wave speed. The existence is proved by applying Schauder's fixed point theorem and Lyapunov functional method. The non‐existence of traveling waves is obtained by two‐sided Laplace transform. This paper is concerned with the existence and non-existence of traveling wave solutions of reaction-diffusion-advection equation with boundary conditions of mixed type in unbounded cylinder. By constructing new supper-sub solutions and applying monotone iteration method, we obtain existence of traveling wave solutions with wave velocity bigger than the “minimal speed”. For wave velocity smaller than the “minimal speed”, we find that traveling waves of exponential decay do not exist. Finally, we apply our results to KPP type nonlinearity.  相似文献

We study the existence, uniqueness, and asymptotic stability of time periodic traveling wave solutions to a periodic diffusive Lotka–Volterra competition system. Under certain conditions, we prove that there exists a maximal wave speed c? such that for each wave speed c?c?, there is a time periodic traveling wave connecting two semi-trivial periodic solutions of the corresponding kinetic system. It is shown that such a traveling wave is unique modulo translation and is monotone with respect to its co-moving frame coordinate. We also show that the traveling wave solutions with wave speed c<c? are asymptotically stable in certain sense. In addition, we establish the nonexistence of time periodic traveling waves for nonzero speed c>c?.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the propagation dynamics for a class of integrodifference competition models in a periodic habitat. An interesting feature of such a system is that multiple spreading speeds can be observed, which biologically means different species may have different spreading speeds. We show that the model system admits a single spreading speed, and it coincides with the minimal wave speed of the spatially periodic traveling waves. A set of sufficient conditions for linear determinacy of the spreading speed is also given.  相似文献

This paper deals with entire solutions and the interaction of traveling wave fronts of bistable reaction-advection-diffusion equation with infinite cylinders. Assume that the equation admits three equilibria: two stable equilibria 0 and 1, and an unstable equilibrium θ. It is well known that there are different wave fronts connecting any two of those three equilibria. By considering a combination of any two of those different traveling wave fronts and constructing appropriate subsolutions and supersolutions, we establish three different types of entire solutions. Finally, we analyze a model for shear flows in cylinders to illustrate our main results.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence of traveling wave solutions for a class of delayed non-local reaction-diffusion equations without quasi-monotonicity. The approach is based on the construction of two associated auxiliary reaction-diffusion equations with quasi-monotonicity and a profile set in a suitable Banach space by using the traveling wavefronts of the auxiliary equations. Under monostable assumption, by using the Schauder's fixed point theorem, we then show that there exists a constant c>0 such that for each c>c, the equation under consideration admits a traveling wavefront solution with speed c, which is not necessary to be monotonic.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the existence of the traveling waves of the equations describing a diffusive susceptible-exposed-infected-recovered(SEIR) model. The existence of traveling waves depends on the basic reproduction rate and the minimal wave speed. We obtain a more precise estimation of the minimal wave speed of the epidemic model, which is of great practical value in the control of serious epidemics. The approach in this paper is to use the Schauder fixed point theorem and the Laplace transform. We also give some numerical results on the minimal wave speed.  相似文献
