Several series of alkylated phenols were detected for the first time in the extractable bitumens of organic matter-rich sediments from the N?rdlinger Ries (southern Germany). Most abundant and significant constituents comprise those with n-octadecyl, n-eicosanyl, phytanyl, and iso-pentadecyl and anteiso-pentadecyl substituents. The structures of these compounds are suggested from mass spectrometric and retention time data and coinjection with synthetic standards. Diagenetic alteration of phenolic algal lipids is suggested as a possible way to the formation of these compounds in the N?rdlinger Ries sediments. Copyright ? 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

It is demonstrated that the well-known answer for the multiple-scattering series (MSS) for a light particle interacting to a pair of static nucleons, calculated in the Fixed Centers Approximation (FCA), works well for a wide region of the two-body complex scattering length a. However, this approach is not applicable in a narrow region surrounding the real positive a half-axis, where the MSS does not converge. In this paper neutron diffraction experiments were performed for Fe-substituted Mn12 in order to determine the sites of Fe atoms. The results of structure refinements for the sample with our accessed highest Fe content showed that all Fe atoms occupied Mn(3) sites in the Mn12 skeleton. The x-ray absorption fine structure experiments as well as multiple scattering simulations gave the same result. Thus we concluded that Fe atoms only occupied Mn(3) sites. This conclusion also means that Fe-substituted Mn12 series only includes the four single-molecule magnets of [Mn12-xFexO12(CH3COO)16(H2O)4]·2CH3COOH·4H2O (x = 1, 2, 3, and 4), denoted by Mn11Fe1, Mn10Fe2, MngFe3, and Mn8Fe4, respectively. 相似文献

Timely detection of dynamical complexity changes in natural and man-made systems has deep scientific and practical meanings. We introduce a complexity measure for time series: the base-scale entropy. The definition directly applies to arbitrary real-word data. We illustrate our method on a practical speech signal and in a theoretical chaotic system. The results show that the simple and easily calculated measure of base-scale entropy can be effectively used to detect qualitative and quantitative dynamical changes. 相似文献

Arrays of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) filled with iron oxide have been fabricated by a one-step route based on the pyrolysis of ferrocene under a well-chosen synthesis condition. The MWCNT arrays were observed with a scanning electron microscope, with which an energy dispersive x-ray spectrum (EDXS) was also acquired, and they are analysed by x-ray diffraction. Furthermore, individual MWCNTs were studied by using selected area electron diffraction (SAED) and the EDXS in a transmission electron microscopy observation. All the observation and analysis confirmed that the MWCNTs were filled with iron oxide. Field emission from these arrays of iron oxide-filled MWCNTs was measured and the turn-on field was determined to range from 0.83-1.01 V/μm, appearing to be much lower than those of arrays of pure MWCNTs and arrays of nitrogen-doped MWCNTs fabricated in similar ways. The possible reasons of the observed low-field emission are discussed. 相似文献

One of the first events taking place when a crystal of a metalloprotein is exposed to X‐ray radiation is photoreduction of the metal centres. The oxidation state of a metal cannot always be determined from routine X‐ray diffraction experiments alone, but it may have a crucial impact on the metal's environment and on the analysis of the structural data when considering the functional mechanism of a metalloenzyme. Here, UV–Vis microspectrophotometry is used to test the efficacy of selected scavengers in reducing the undesirable photoreduction of the iron and copper centres in myoglobin and azurin, respectively, and X‐ray crystallography to assess their capacity of mitigating global and specific radiation damage effects. UV–Vis absorption spectra of native crystals, as well as those soaked in 18 different radioprotectants, show dramatic metal reduction occurring in the first 60 s of irradiation with an X‐ray beam from a third‐generation synchrotron source. Among the tested radioprotectants only potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) seems to be capable of partially mitigating the rate of metal photoreduction at the concentrations used, but not to a sufficient extent that would allow a complete data set to be recorded from a fully oxidized crystal. On the other hand, analysis of the X‐ray crystallographic data confirms ascorbate as an efficient protecting agent against radiation damage, other than metal centre reduction, and suggests further testing of HEPES and 2,3‐dichloro‐1,4‐naphtoquinone as potential scavengers. 相似文献

A possible explanation of the “knee” in the cosmic ray spectrum by the change in hadron-hadron interactions at the corresponding energy is discussed. It is shown that, at c.m. energies above 5 TeV, the total proton-proton cross sections obtained from cosmic ray experiments exceed the asymptotic fit made over the collider data. Such a rise of the cross sections favors the hypothesis about new chromodynamically charged degrees of freedom, the threshold of their creation being about \(\sqrt {^\mathcal{S} knee} \approx 2.3 TeV\). We analyze the wide-angle X-ray scattering from oriented spider silk fibers in terms of a quantitative scattering model, including
both structural and statistical parameters of the β -sheet crystallites of spider silk in the amorphous matrix. The model
is based on kinematic scattering theory and allows for rather general correlations of the positional and orientational degrees
of freedom, including the crystallite’s size, composition and dimension of the unit cell. The model is evaluated numerically
and compared to experimental scattering intensities allowing us to extract the geometric and statistical parameters. We show
explicitly that for the experimentally found mosaicity (width of the orientational distribution) inter-crystallite effects

We obtain a chain of quantum kinetic reaction-diffusion-type equations for “adsorbate-substrate” system taking into account the coupling of a light particle with a metallic surface, the adsorbate surface diffusion by the tunnelling mechanism and the occurrence of bimolecular chemical reactions. We calculate the temperature dependence of the kinetic kernels related to the diffusion coefficients and the reaction rates. It is shown that one can alter the temperature dependence of the reaction rates by changing the “adsorbate-substrate” coupling. It is also shown that the mean field terms contribute to the activation energies of the reaction rates, while their contribution to the activation energies of the diffusion coefficients vanishes. 相似文献

We applied zircon fission-track analysis to outcrop and borehole samples to study the Mesozoic cooling history of the Bachu Uplift, the Central Uplift of the Tarim Basin. Zircon fission-track (ZFT) ages of 182 Ma – 249 Ma are younger than the sample depositional ages indicating substantial post burial thermal annealing and can effectively reveal cooling events in the Bachu Uplift. The strong correlation between single grain ZFT age and U content indicates that most of the zircon grains represent ages that have been partially annealed and so the age is not directly indicative of the time of cooling. The youngest ZFT age populations with modal peak ages of 151 ± 8 Ma (Well HT1 samples), 126 ± 6 Ma (Well T1 samples) and 192 ± 10 Ma (Xiaohaizi Reservoir profile samples) from the decomposition of the ZFT single-grain ages represent the onset of cooling events in the Bachu Uplift, which were related to the collisions of the Qiangtang Terrane and Lhasa Block with the southern margin of the Eurasia continent, respectively. This study provides new insights into the tectonic and sedimentary evolution of the Tarim Basin and even Central Asia by constraining the higher temperature (c. 250–180 °C) part of the basin thermal history. 相似文献
