长周期光纤光栅是在光纤纤芯中沿轴向形成折射率周期性调制的带阻型光纤器件。与光纤布拉格光栅不同,它表现为前向传播的纤芯基模与同向传播的各阶次包层模式在特定波长的耦合。研究了纤芯基模、包层模式(HE1t/EH1t)及其有效折射率随波长的变化,研究了纤芯基模与包层模式(HE1t/EH1t)的耦合系数。研究表明,纤芯基模与一阶低次包层模式的有效折射率随波长增大而减小,纤芯基模与HE1t产生的耦合系数远大于与EH1t的耦合系数,并且包层模式次数较低时,耦合系数随次数的升高而增加。这与以前的研究结果有所不同。 相似文献

利用相位匹配条件,从理论和实验上研究了均匀LPFGs的谱结构特点.结果表明,导模和不同包层模耦合产生的光谱特性有很大差别.在模序较小时,谱宽较小;模序增加,谱宽也增加;在某一模序附近,谱宽达到最大;以后随模序增加,谱宽迅速减小.给出了LPFGs中透射谱的最大损耗率及3 dB带宽与包层模序、光栅周期、耦合系数和栅长的关系.这些关系对设计满足特定最大损耗率和带宽的带阻滤波器或增益均衡器提供一种理论参考.选用不同的包层模、耦合系数和栅长,可以设计出谱宽很大或很小的LPFGs. 相似文献

Irradiation effect on strain sensitivity coefficient of strain sensing fiber Bragg gratings 下载免费PDF全文
The effect of irradiation on the strain sensitivity coefficient of strain sensing fiber Bragg gratings(FBGs) has been investigated through experiments. FBGs were fabricated in single mode fibers with 3 mol% Ge-concentration in the core and with a H2-loading treatment. In experiments, the FBGs were subjected to γ-radiation exposures using a Co60 source at a dose-rate of 25 Gy/min up to a total dose of 10.5 kGy. The GeO defect in fiber absorbs photons to form a GeE’ defect; the interaction with H2 is a probable reason for the γ-radiation sensitivity of gratings written in hydrogen loaded fibres. The effect mechanism of radiation on the strain sensitivity coefficient is similar to that of radiation on the temperature sensitivity coefficient. Radiation affects the effective index neff, which results in the change of the thermo-optic coefficient and the strain-optic coefficient. Irradiation can change the strain sensitivity coefficient of FBGs by 1.48%–2.71%, as well as changing the Bragg wavelength shift(BWS) by 22 pm–25 pm under a total dose of 10.5 kGy. Our research demonstrates that the effect of irradiation on the strain sensitivity coefficient of FBG is small and that strain sensing FBGs can work well in the radiation environment. 相似文献

镀膜长周期光纤光栅(LPFG)工作于相位匹配转折点时纤芯模与高次包层模的耦合产生单个宽带损耗峰,其3 dB带宽取决于纤芯模和包层模之间的色散差、光栅长度以及中心波长.研究表明,薄膜折射率和厚度的变化将影响纤芯模与包层模之间的色散差,从而影响损耗峰的3 dB带宽,同时损耗峰中心波长亦随之移动.薄膜折射率为1.57,厚度为350 nm时,损耗峰带宽可达302 nm.减小光栅长度在保证中心波长损耗大于6 dB的前提下可使损耗峰3 dB带宽增大至334 nm.进一步研究表明,在均匀LPFG中偏离光栅中点的适当位置引入单个π相移可以使带宽增大至372 nm以上. 相似文献

We present novel filtering characteristics of film-coated long-period fiber gratings (LPFGs) operating at phase-matching turning point (PMTP). The 3 dB bandwidth of a single broadband dip depends greatly on the film refractive index and thickness. A π-phase-shift in the grating center produces two band-rejection peaks between which the separation reaches 375 nm. This separation increases with the number M (M > 1) of π-phase-shifts that divide the LPFG uniformly. The central loss is constant at zero for odd M, whereas decreases with M for even M. Increasing film thickness and refractive index result in blue shifts of the dual peaks and enlarge the separations, which exhibits excellent tunabilities. 相似文献

We report on sensitivity control of fiber optic sensors using microbend long-period fiber gratings. By tuning the phase difference between a pair of periodically aligned rod arrays that sandwiches a single-mode fiber, we can change the coupling strength of the core mode with radiating cladding modes, resulting in variable pressure sensitivity of the transmission power through the fiber. This technique enables control of the measurable range of pressure. When the phase difference is shifted from π toward 0, the measurable range is expanded from 1.7 to 3.3 N/cm and higher using a light-emitting diode as an input light source. 相似文献

建立了长周期光纤光栅傅里叶模式耦合理论.在分析同向模式耦合时,发现了同向耦合模式的振幅系数间存在傅里叶变换关系.推导了长周期光纤光栅的同向耦合谱和透射谱的通用表达式.该理论是用傅里叶变换分析得出长周期光纤光栅折射率微扰的空域谱,再对该空域谱进行模式同向耦合分析,从而得到长周期光纤光栅光谱特性的通用表达式.根据该理论模拟分析了长周期光纤光栅在不同长度和微扰幅值时的光谱特性,与传统耦合模理论进行了对比分析.结果表明,该长周期光纤光栅傅里叶模式耦合理论具有简单、精确和高效的特点,与实际长周期光纤光栅的透射谱特性一致.应用该理论可分析无过耦合的任意轴向折射率微扰分布的长周期光纤光栅光谱特性. 相似文献

光开关是未来全光通信和光计算机的关键器件.已经研究过的全光开关的种类很多,其中光纤光栅全光开关最容易与光纤系统匹配.文章首先陈述两种基于普通石英光纤的单光栅全光开关,即光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)全光开关和长周期光纤光栅(LPFG)全光开关,这两种低非线性的光开关要求千瓦量级的高开关功率,故不宜应用;然后重点介绍两种高非线性的光纤光栅全光开关,它们分别由单个高非线性FBG和用高非线性光纤连接的LPFG对构成.文章所介绍的非线性光纤材料是以掺稀土石英光纤为例.这两种高非线性的光纤光栅全光开关具有毫瓦量级的低开关功率,有可能获得实际应用. 相似文献
