Alternating adsorption of poly(acrylic acid) and a polyethylenimine-Pd(II) complex on alumina and subsequent reduction of Pd(II) by NaBH4 yield catalytic Pd nanoparticles embedded in multilayer polyelectrolyte films. The polyelectrolytes limit aggregation of the particles and impart catalytic selectivity in the hydrogenation of alpha-substituted unsaturated alcohols by restricting access to catalytic sites. Hydrogenation of allyl alcohol by encapsulated Pd(0) nanoparticles can occur as much as 24-fold faster than hydrogenation of 3-methyl-1-penten-3-ol. Additionally, the nanoparticle/polyelectrolyte system suppresses unwanted substrate isomerization, when compared to a commercial palladium catalyst. Selective diffusion through poly(acrylic acid)/polyethlyenimine membranes suggests that hydrogenation selectivities are due to different rates of diffusion to nanoparticle catalysts. First-order kinetics are also consistent with a diffusion-limited mechanism. Further exploitation of the versatility of polyelectrolyte films should increase selectivity in hydrogenation as well as other reactions.  相似文献

A polymer-anchored Pd(II) complex has been prepared and characterized using scanning electron microscopy, elemental analysis, atomic absorption spectroscopy and FTIR. The catalyst shows excellent catalytic activity in the liquid-phase hydrogenation of substituted nitrobenzenes at normal pressure of hydrogen gas at 25 °C in DMF medium. We have also studied the liquid-phase hydrogenation of other organic substrates such as alkenes, alkynes, aromatic aldehydes, etc. The influences of various parameters such as amount of catalyst, concentration of substrate, temperature and solvent have been studied. The catalyst can be used five times without much loss in activity.  相似文献

poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone)-(PVP) and polyvinyl alcohol-(PVA) protected nanoscopic noble metal colloidal catalysts were immobilized to prepare the corresponding heterogeneous catalysts by forming polymer hydrogen bond complexes of polyacrylic acid (PAA) with PVP or PVA. A PVP–PAA–Pd catalyst was found to be very active and selective for the partial hydrogenation of cyclopentadiene to cyclopentene.  相似文献

Pd-catalyzed allylic C-H trifluoroacetoxylation of substituted alkenes was performed using PhI(OCOCF(3))(2) as the oxidant and acyloxy source. Trifluoroacetoxylation of monosubstituted cyclopentenes and cyclohexenes proceeds with excellent regio- and diastereoselectivity. Studies with one of the possible (η(3)-allyl)Pd(II) intermediates suggest that the reaction proceeds via stereoselective formation of Pd(IV) intermediates and subsequent stereo- and regioselective reductive elimination of the product.  相似文献

This paper describes the synthesis, characterization and applications of palladium (Pd) nanoparticles supported on siliceous mesocellular foam (MCF). Pd nanoparticles of 2-3 nm and 4-6 nm were used in reactions involving molecular hydrogen (such as hydrogenation of double bonds and reductive amination), transfer hydrogenation of ketones and epoxides, and coupling reactions (such as Heck and Suzuki reactions). They successfully catalyzed all these reactions with excellent yield and selectivity. This heterogeneous catalyst was easily recovered by filtration, and recycled several times without any significant loss in activity and selectivity. The palladium leaching in the reactions was determined to be much less than the FDA-approved limit of 5 ppm. Furthermore, the catalyst can be stored and handled under normal atmospheric conditions. This immobilized catalyst allows for ease of recovery/reuse and minimization of waste generation, which are of great interest in the development of green chemical processes.  相似文献

This work presents a highly active and reusable heterogeneous film catalytic assembly for hydrogenation reduction of aromatic nitro compounds. The multilayer structures of PEI-(K2PdCl4-P1)n-film(PEI = polyethylenmine, P1 = 3-amino-3-(4-pyridinyl)-propionitrile) bound to quartz slides were fabricated by layer-by-layer(LbL) self-assembly method. Various characterization techniques including X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), inductively coupled plasma OES spectrometer(ICP), UV-vis spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy(AFM) were employed to reveal the growth process of the resulting LbL multilayers in detail. Subsequent in situ reduction by H2 produced Pd nanoparticles embedded in such films were used as catalyst for the hydrogenation of nitroarenes. The catalytic performance test shows that the thin film catalyst can be applied to the hydrogenation reaction of various substituted nitroaromatics, and exhibits good catalytic activity and good catalyst stability. It is worth mentioning that our catalytic films can be easily removed from the reaction system in any time during the reaction, and the catalytic activity could be fully recovered when reused directly in another catalytic cycle for five times.  相似文献

Superhydrophobic films mainly based on poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) polyelectrolyte multilayer have been deposited onto cleaned glass substrate by a layer-by-layer dip coating method. 3 bilayers of the PAH and PAA was directly coated onto the substrate as an underlying layer for subsequent coating. Desired surface roughness on the polyelectrolyte bilayers was created by etching the bilayers in hydrochloric acid solution so as to create the open pore having suitable size at the surface. Then, nanoparticles such as SiO2 and TiO2 of various sizes were deposited onto the etched polyelectrolyte bilayers. Finally, the surfaces were further modified with semifluorinated silane followed by cross-linking at 180 °C for 2 h to obtain desirable surface morphological features. The effect of etching time and addition of nanoparticles on surface morphology was investigated using an atomic force microscope (AFM). Wetting ability of the prepared film was determined by measuring water droplet contact angle using a goniometer. Adhesion between the superhydrophobic films and the substrate was evaluated by using a standard tape test method (D3359). The adhesion was improved by reducing the organic content in the films.  相似文献

Hydrogenation reactions of alkenes (cyclohexene, ethyl acrylate, styrene and 1,5-cyclooctadiene) and aromatic compounds (o-, m- and p-xylene) were carried out in order to examine the activity of palladium-loaded surface-oxidized diamond (Pd/O-Dia) catalyst in liquid-phase hydrogenation. The catalytic performance was compared to commercial palladium-loaded activated carbon (Pd/C) catalyst. The catalyst activities were evaluated by conversions of reactants and H2 uptake rates in the early stage of the reaction. In all the hydrogenation reactions of alkenes and aromatic compounds, the activity of Pd/O-Dia was almost the same as or slightly higher than that of Pd/C. Dispersion of Pd metal was measured by a CO-pulsed adsorption technique and TEM observations of the catalysts. Pd dispersions were on the same order of magnitude according to the CO-pulsed adsorption technique, although the Pd/C catalyst had a higher surface area (718 m2/g) than that of Pd/O-Dia (23 m2/g). The Pd particle sizes on O-Dia measured by TEM observation were slightly smaller than those on the activated carbon. Such highly dispersed Pd particles on O-Dia would contribute to higher activity for the hydrogenation reaction of alkenes and aromatic compounds.  相似文献

High nuclearity platinum carbonyl cluster anions (Chini's clusters) have been used as precursors to prepare a platinum nanocatalyst. The ionic polyelectrolyte poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) has been used as the support material for anchoring [Pt30(CO)60]2− via ion-pairing and subsequent stabilization of the nanoparticles. The polymer-supported material has been studied by spectroscopy (NIR, 13C NMR, and IR) and TEM before and after its use as a water soluble hydrogenation catalyst. The nanocatalyst is found to be effective for the chemoselective hydrogenation of olefinic, aldehydic and ketonic double bonds. For most of the substrates isolation of the product and reuse of the catalyst are extremely easy due to the automatic phase separation of the products from the catalyst. The spectral features of the fresh catalyst show retention of the carbonyl ligands and molecular identity of the parent cluster, but after use the carbonyl ligands appear to be lost. TEM of the supported material before and after use as a catalyst shows the presence of platinum nanoparticles with majority (≥70%) of the particles in the range of 2–6 nm. Smaller particles are dominant in the used catalyst and this observation is rationalized on the basis of the known reactivity of Chini's clusters with dihydrogen.  相似文献

High molecular weight polybenzimidazoles, poly[(N-phenyl)benzimidazoles], polynaphthoylenebenzimidazoles and poly(naphthoylene-s-triazoles) were obtained using well-known polycyclodehydration processes as well as new reactions for their preparation -reductive polyheterocyclization and “activated” poly-cyclocondensation. Treatment of polymers obtained with PdCl2 led to the formation of Pd-containing polyheteroarylenes complexes. PdII bound to the polymers was reduced to Pd° by treatment with hydrogen or NaBH4. Pd-polyheteroarylenes complexes obtained may be used as catalysts for the hydrogenation of alkenes and alkynes, for the selective hydrogenation of the triple bonds of unsaturated hydrocarbons in the presence of double bonds etc. Of especially great interest is the utilization of Pd-polybenzimidazole as catalyst for carbonylation of nitrobenzene and different halogen-substitited nitrobenzenes in the presence of alcohols leading to the formation of carbamates.  相似文献

The synthesis and size-selective catalytic activity of Pd nanoparticles encapsulated within dendrimers functionalized with different-sized end groups is described. We designed and synthesized a series of fourth-generation poly(amidoamine) dendrimers having various extents of steric crowding on their periphery. This was accomplished by reacting the terminal amine groups of these dendrimers with epoxyalkanes substituted with different-sized alkyl groups. The modified dendrimers were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry. Nearly monodisperse (1.7 +/- 0.2 nm) Pd nanoparticles were encapsulated within the interior of these dendrimers, and the resulting composite catalysts were used for the hydrogenation of three alpha-allylic alcohols having different sizes. The results showed a clear correlation between the extent of steric crowding on the dendrimer surface and the turnover frequencies (TOFs) for the substrates: more steric crowding on the dendrimer surface led to lower TOFs.  相似文献

5-Aryl substituted chiral hydantoin derivatives were synthesized via asymmetric hydrogenation of prochiral exocyclic alkenes using a Pd/BINAP catalyst. Moderate to good enantioselectivity were obtained (21–90% ee). A chiral Brönsted acid additive was found to be a key factor to obtain high enantioselectivity.  相似文献

A new approach of employing metal particles in micelles for the hydrogenation of organic molecules in the presence of fluorinated surfactant and water in supercritical carbon dioxide has very recently been introduced. This is allegedly to deliver many advantages for carrying out catalysis including the use of supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) as a greener solvent. Following this preliminary account, the present work aims to provide direct visual evidence on the formation of metal microemulsions and to investigate whether metal located in the soft micellar assemblies could affect reaction selectivity. Synthesis of Pd nanoparticles in perfluorohydrocarboxylate anionic micelles in scCO2 is therefore carried out in a stainless steel batch reactor at 40 degrees C and in a 150 bar CO2/H2 mixture. Homogeneous dispersion of the microemulsion containing Pd nanoparticles in scCO2 is observed through a sapphire window reactor at W0 ratios (molar water-to-surfactant ratios) ranging from 2 to 30. It is also evidenced that the use of micelle assemblies as new metal catalyst nanocarriers could indeed exert a great influence on product selectivity. The hydrogenation of a citral molecule that contains three reducible groups (aldehyde, double bonds at the 2,3-position and the 6,7-position) is studied. An unusually high selectivity toward citronellal (a high regioselectivity toward the reduction of the 2,3-unsaturation) is observed in supercritical carbon dioxide. On the other hand, when the catalysis is carried out in the conventional liquid or vapor phase over the same reaction time, total hydrogenation of the two double bonds is achieved. It is thought that the high kinetic reluctance for double bond hydrogenation of the citral molecule at the hydrophobic end (the 6,7-position) is due to the unique micelle environment that is in close proximity to the metal surface in supercritical carbon dioxide that guides a head-on attack of the molecule toward the core metal particle.  相似文献

Layer-by-layer (LBL) polyelectrolyte films were constructed from poly(L-glutamic acid) (PGA) and poly(L-aspartic acid) (PAA) as polyanions, and from poly(L-lysine) (PLL) as the polycation. The terminating layer of the films was always PLL. According to attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared measurements, the PGA/PLL and PAA/PLL films, despite their chemical similarity, had largely different secondary structures. Extended beta-sheets dominated the PGA/PLL films, while alpha-helices and intramolecular beta-sheets dominated the PAA/PLL films. The secondary structure of the polyelectrolyte film affected the adsorption of human serum albumin (HSA) as well. HSA preserved its native secondary structure on the PGA/PLL film, but it became largely deformed on PAA/PLL films. Both PGA and PAA were able to extrude to a certain extent the other polyanion from the films, but the structural consequences were different. Adding PAA to a (PGA/PLL)5-PGA film resulted in a simple exchange and incorporation: PGA/PLL and PAA/PLL complexes coexisted with their unaltered secondary structures in the mixed film. The incorporation of PGA into a (PAA/PLL)5-PAA film was up to 50% and caused additional beta-structure increase in the secondary structure of the film. The proportions of the two polyanions were roughly the same on the surfaces and in the interiors of the films, indicating practically free diffusion for both polyanions. The abundance of PAA/PLL and PGA/PLL domains on the film surfaces was monitored by the analysis of the amide I region of the infrared spectrum of a reporter molecule, HSA, adsorbed onto the three-component polyelectrolyte films.  相似文献

In aqueous medium without any other additives, palladium (Pd) nanoparticles with water‐soluble polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as stabilizer were synthesized for the catalytic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the nitrobenzene conversion and the selectivity for aniline were 99.3 % and 100 %, respectively. Comprehensive characterization methods, including TEM, UV/Vis, confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), XRD and XPS allowed a better understanding of the role of PVA aggregates and the properties of Pd nanoparticles. The nitrobenzene conversion exceeded 80 % even after 6 cycles without any treatment of the catalyst. A mechanism about the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene catalyzed by Pd/PVA system was proposed. The Pd/PVA catalyst also exhibited excellent activity and selectivity, particularly to ortho‐fluoronitrobenzene and ortho‐nitrotoluene. This research can provide a reference for the environmentally friendly catalysis for hydrogenation of nitrobenzene and other substituted nitrobenzene compounds.  相似文献

The carbon–carbon double bond of unsaturated carbonyl compounds was readily reduced by using a phosphetane oxide catalyst in the presence of a simple organosilane as the terminal reductant and water as the hydrogen source. Quantitative hydrogenation was observed when 1.0 mol % of a methyl‐substituted phosphetane oxide was employed as the catalyst. The procedure is highly selective towards activated double bonds, tolerating a variety of functional groups that are usually prone to reduction. In total, 25 alkenes and two alkynes were hydrogenated to the corresponding alkanes in excellent yields of up to 99 %. Notably, less active poly(methylhydrosiloxane) could also be utilized as the terminal reductant. Mechanistic investigations revealed the phosphane as the catalyst resting state and a protonation/deprotonation sequence as the crucial step in the catalytic cycle.  相似文献

Polymer/Au nanoparticle multilayer ultrathin films are fabricated via hydrogen-bonding interaction by a layer-by-layer technique. The Au nanoparticles surface-modified with pyridine groups of poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PVP) are prepared in dimethyl formamide (DMF). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) image shows that uniform nanoparticles are dispersed in the PVP chains. Poly(3-thiophene acetic acid) (PTAA) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) are utilized to form hydrogen bonds with PVP, respectively. Considering the pH-sensitive dissociation behavior of PTAA and PAA, we investigate the release behavior of the Au-containing multilayers at different pH values in this work. UV-vis spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM) are employed to monitor the buildup and the release of the multilayers. The results indicate that in the films assembled with gold nanoparticles, the polymers are difficult to be removed from the substrate. The interaction between the gold particles and the neighboring PVP chains is responsible for the phenomenon. Gold particles act as physical cross-link points in the multilayers. Due to the additional interaction caused by the gold nanoparticles in the films except the hydrogen-bonding interaction between PTAA (or PAA) and PVP, the stability of the Au-containing multilayer film is ensured even though the changes in pH values may result in the break of the hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of poly(acrylic acid-ran-vinylbenzyl acrylate) (PAArVBA), a photo-cross-linkable weak polyelectrolyte, and its incorporation into polyelectrolyte multilayer (PEM) films. PEM films assembled from PAArVBA and poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) are found to exhibit similar thickness trends with assembly pH as those previously reported for poly(acrylic acid) (PAA)/PAH multilayers. Swelling properties of the as-built and photo-cross-linked films are studied by in situ ellipsometry. Two-dimensional masking techniques are used to pattern regions of high and low swelling, as confirmed by atomic force microscopy (AFM), and to provide spatial control over the low-pH-induced microporosity transition exhibited by PAH/PAA PEMs. Films containing alternating blocks of PAH/PAArVBA bilayers and PAH/PAA bilayers were assembled, laterally photopatterned, and exposed to low-pH solution to generate nanoporosity leading to patterned Bragg reflectors, thereby demonstrating three-dimensional control over film structure in these weak PEM assemblies.  相似文献

The utilization of carbon dioxide as a carbon source has long been a challenge in modern organic chemistry due to its low reactivity, yet high abundance. Herein we demonstrate the highly efficient hydrogenation of carbon dioxide into formic acid in the presence of an NHC-amidate Pd(II) complex. Excellent turnover number was observed when the catalyst was used under heterolytic conditions. This catalytic system provides a new and efficient carbon dioxide hydrogenation method.  相似文献
