The controlled formation of lanthanide(III) dinuclear μ-hydroxo-bridged [Ln(2)L(2)(μ-OH)(2)X(2)](n+) complexes (where X = H(2)O, NO(3)(-), or Cl(-)) of the enantiopure chiral macrocycle L is reported. The (1)H and (13)C NMR resonances of these complexes have been assigned on the basis of COSY, NOESY, TOCSY, and HMQC spectra. The observed NOE connectivities confirm that the dimeric solid-state structure is retained in solution. The enantiomeric nature of the obtained chiral complexes and binding of hydroxide anions are reflected in their CD spectra. The formation of the dimeric complexes is accompanied by a complete enantiomeric self-recognition of the chiral macrocyclic units. The reaction of NaOH with a mixture of two different mononuclear lanthanide(III) complexes, [Ln(1)L](3+) and [Ln(2)L](3+), results in formation of the heterodinuclear [Ln(1)Ln(2)L(2)(μ-OH)(2)X(2)](n+) complexes as well as the corresponding homodinuclear complexes. The formation of the heterodinuclear complex is directly confirmed by the NOESY spectra of [EuLuL(2)(μ-OH)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](4+), which reveal close contacts between the macrocyclic unit containing the Eu(III) ion and the macrocyclic unit containing the Lu(III) ion. While the relative amounts of homo- and heterodinuclear complexes are statistical for the two lanthanide(III) ions of similar radii, a clear preference for the formation of heterodinuclear species is observed when the two mononuclear complexes contain lanthanide(III) ions of markedly different sizes, e.g., La(III) and Yb(III). The formation of heterodinuclear complexes is accompanied by the self-sorting of the chiral macrocyclic units based on their chirality. The reactions of NaOH with a pair of homochiral or racemic mononuclear complexes, [Ln(1)L(RRRR)](3+)/[Ln(2)L(RRRR)](3+), [Ln(1)L(SSSS)](3+)/[Ln(2)L(SSSS)](3+), or [Ln(1)L(rac)](3+)/[Ln(2)L(rac)](3+), results in mixtures of homochiral, homodinuclear and homochiral, heterodinuclear complexes. On the contrary, no heterochiral, heterodinuclear complexes [Ln(1)L(RRRR)Ln(2)L(SSSS)(μ-OH)(2)X(2)](n+) are formed in the reactions of two different mononuclear complexes of opposite chirality.  相似文献

The bis(beta-diketone) ligands 1,3-bis(3-phenyl-3-oxopropanoyl)benzene, H(2)L(1) and 1,3-bis(3-phenyl-3-oxopropanoyl) 5-ethoxy-benzene, H(2)L(2), have been prepared for the examination of dinuclear lanthanide complex formation and investigation of their properties as sensitizers for lanthanide luminescence. The ligands bear two conjugated diketonate binding sites linked by a 1,3-phenylene spacer. The ligands bind to lanthanide(III) or yttrium(III) ions to form neutral homodimetallic triple stranded complexes [M(2)L(1)(3)] where M = Eu, Nd, Sm, Y, Gd and [M(2)L(2)(3)], where M = Eu, Nd or anionic quadruple-stranded dinuclear lanthanide units, [Eu(2)L(1)(4)](2-). The crystal structure of the free ligand H(2)L(1) has been determined and shows a twisted arrangement of the two binding sites around the 1,3-phenylene spacer. The dinuclear complexes have been isolated and fully characterized. Detailed NMR investigations of the complexes confirm the formation of a single complex species, with high symmetry; the complexes show clear proton patterns with chemical shifts of a wide range due to the lanthanide paramagnetism. Addition of Pirkle's reagent to solutions of the complexes leads to splitting of the peaks, confirming the chiral nature of the complexes. Electrospray and MALDI mass spectrometry have been used to identify complex formulation and characteristic isotope patterns for the different lanthanide complexes have been obtained. The complexes have high molar absorption coefficients (around 13 x 10(4) M(-1)cm(-1)) and display strong visible (red or pink) or NIR luminescence upon irradiation at the ligand band around 350 nm, depending on the choice of the lanthanide. Emission quantum yield experiments have been performed and the luminescence signals of the dinuclear complexes have been found to be up to 11 times more intense than the luminescence signals of the mononuclear analogues. The emission quantum yields and the luminescence lifetimes are determined to be 5% and 220 micros for [Eu(2)L(1)(3)], 0.16% and 13 micros for [Sm(2)L(1)(3)], and 0.6% and 1.5 micros for [Nd(2)L(1)(3)]. The energy level of the ligand triplet state was determined from the 77 K spectrum of [Gd(2)L(1)(3)]. The bis-diketonate ligand is shown to be an efficient sensitizer, particularly for Sm and Nd. Photophysical studies of the europium complexes at room temperature and 77 K show the presence of a thermally activated deactivation pathway, which we attribute to ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT). Quenching of the luminescence from this level seems to be operational for the Eu(III) complex but not for complexes of Sm(III) and Nd(III), which exhibit long lifetimes. The quadruple-stranded europium complex has been isolated and characterized as the piperidinium salt of [Eu(2)L(1)(4)](2-). Compared with the triple-stranded Eu(III) complex in the solid state, the quadruple-stranded complex displays a more intense emission signal with a distinct emission pattern indicating the higher symmetry of the quadruple-stranded complex.  相似文献

Three new dinuclear lanthanide(III) complexes {Eu(hfac)(3)(H(2)O)}(2)(μ-HPhMq)(2) (2) and {Ln(hfac)(3)(H(2)O)}(2)(μ-HMe(2)NC(6)H(4)Mq)(2) (Ln = Eu, 3; Nd, 4) with 8-hydroxylquinoline derivatives in μ-phenol mode were synthesized and characterized, where hfac(-) = hexafluoroacetylacetonate, HPhMq = 2-methyl-5-phenylquinolin-8-ol, and HMe(2)C(6)H(4)Mq = 5-(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)-2-methylquinolin-8-ol. Compared with that (400 nm) for {Eu(hfac)(3)}(2)(μ-HMq)(2) (1, HMq = 2-methy-8-hydroxylquinoline), the excitation wavelength for sensitized lanthanide luminescence is extended to ca. 420 nm for 2, and 500 nm for 4 by introducing a phenyl or 4-(dimethylamino)phenyl to 8-hydroxylquinoline. These dinuclear lanthanide(III) complexes exhibit distinctly fluoride-induced lanthanide(III) emission enhancement in both intensity and lifetime due to replacing coordination water molecules or formation of strong O-H···F hydrogen bonds with coordinated H(2)O and μ-phenol, thus suppressing significantly the non-radiative O-H oscillators.  相似文献

The ligands tris[3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazol-1-yl]hydroborate (L1, potentially hexadentate) and bis[3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazol-1-yl]dihydroborate (L2, potentially tetradentate) have been used to prepare ternary lanthanide complexes in which the remaining ligands are dibenzoylmethane anions (dbm). [Eu(L1)(dbm)2] is eight-coordinate, with L1 acting only as a tetradentate chelate (with one potentially bidentate arm pendant) and two bidentate dbm ligands. [Nd(L1)(dbm)2] was also prepared but on recrystallization some of it rearranged to [Nd(L1)2][Nd(dbm)4], which contains a twelve-coordinate [Nd(L1)2]+ cation (two interleaved hexadentate podand ligands) and the eight-coordinate anion [Nd(dbm)4]- which, uniquely amongst eight-coordinate complexes having four diketonate ligands, has a square prismatic structure with near-perfect O8 cubic coordination. Formation of this sterically unfavourable geometry is assumed to arise from favourable packing with the pseudo-spherical cation. The isostructural series of complexes [Ln(L2)(dbm)2](Ln = Pr, Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Er, Yb) was also prepared and all members structurally characterised; again the metal ions are eight-coordinate, from one tetradentate ligand L2 and two bidentate dbm ligands. Photophysical studies on the complexes with Ln = Pr, Nd, Er, and Yb were carried out; all show the near-IR luminescence characteristic of these metal ions, with longer lifetimes in CD3OD than in CH3OH. For [Yb(L2)(dbm)2], two species with different luminescence lifetimes were observed in CH3OH solution, corresponding to species with zero or one coordinated solvent molecules, in slow exchange on the luminescence timescale. For [Nd(L2)(dbm)2] a single average solvation number of 0.7 was observed in MeOH. For [Pr(L2)(dbm)2] a range of emission lines in the visible and NIR regions was detected; time-resolved measurements show a particularly high susceptibility to quenching by solvent CH and OH oscillators.  相似文献

Five new 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-derived compounds, sodium 3-(4,7-dimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononan-1-yl)propionate (Na[LMe2R']) as well as the enantiopure derivatives (S)-1-(2-methylbutyl)-4,7-dimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (S-LMe2R'), SS-trans-2,5,8-trimethyl-2,5,8-triazabicyclo[7.4.01,9]tridecane (SS-LBMe3), (S)-1-(2-hydroxypropyl)-4,7-dimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (S-LMe2R), and (R)-1-(2-hydroxypropyl)-4,7-dimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (R-LMe2R), have been synthesized. Reaction of manganese dichloride with the chiral macrocycles S-LMe2R and R-LMe2R in aqueous ethanol gives, upon oxidation with hydrogen peroxide, the brown dinuclear Mn(III)-Mn(IV) complexes which are enantiomers, [Mn2(S-LMe2R)2(mu-O)2]3+ (S,S-1) and [Mn2(R-LMe2R)2(mu-O)2]3+ (R,R-1). The single-crystal X-ray structure analyses of [S,S-1][PF6]3.0.5(CH3)2CO and [R,R-1][PF6]3.0.5(CH3)2CO show both enantiomers to contain Mn(III) and Mn(IV) centers, each of which being coordinated to three nitrogen atoms of a triazacyclononane ligand and each of which being bridged by two oxo and by two chiral hydroxypropyl pendent arms of the macrocycle. The enantiomeric complexes S,S-1 and R,R-1 were found to catalyze the oxidation of olefins, alkanes, and alcohols with hydrogen peroxide. In the epoxidation of indene the enantiomeric excess values attain 13%. The bond selectivities of the oxidation of linear and branched alkanes suggest the crucial step in this process to be the attack of a sterically hindered high-valent manganese-oxo species on the C-H bond.  相似文献

A new bis-β-diketone, 3,3'-bis(4,4,4-trifluoro-1,3-dioxobutyl)biphenyl (BTB), has been designed and prepared for the synthesis of a series of dinuclear lanthanide complexes [Ln(2)(BTB)(3)(C(2)H(5)OH)(2)(H(2)O)(2)] [Ln = Eu (1), Gd (2)], [Ln(2)(BTB)(3)(DME)(2)] [Ln = Nd (3), Yb (4); DME = ethylene glycol dimethyl ether] and [Eu(2)(BTB)(3)(L)(2)] [L = 2,2-bipydine (5); 1,10-phenanthroline (6); 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (7)]. Complexes 1-7 have been characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and their photophysical properties are investigated. X-ray crystallographical analysis reveals that complexes 1, 3 and 4 adopt triple-stranded dinuclear structures which are formed by three bis-bidentate ligands with two lanthanide ions. The complexes 1 and 3-7 display strong visible red or NIR luminescence upon irradiation at ligand band around 372 nm, depending on the choice of the lanthanide. The solid-state photoluminescence quantum yields and the lifetimes of Eu(3+) complexes are determined and described.  相似文献

To tune the lanthanide luminescence in related molecular structures, we synthesized and characterized a series of lanthanide complexes with imidazole-based ligands: two tripodal ligands, tris{[2-{(1-methylimidazol-2-yl)methylidene}amino]ethyl}amine (Me(3)L), and tris{[2-{(imidazol-4-yl)methylidene}amino]ethyl}amine (H(3)L), and the dipodal ligand bis{[2-{(imidazol-4-yl)methylidene}amino]ethyl}amine (H(2)L). The general formulas are [Ln(Me(3)L)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(3)·3H(2)O (Ln = 3+ lanthanide ion: Sm (1), Eu (2), Gd (3), Tb (4), and Dy (5)), [Ln(H(3)L)(NO(3))](NO(3))(2)·MeOH (Ln(3+) = Sm (6), Eu (7), Gd (8), Tb (9), and Dy (10)), and [Ln(H(2)L)(NO(3))(2)(MeOH)](NO(3))·MeOH (Ln(3+) = Sm (11), Eu (12), Gd (13), Tb (14), and Dy (15)). Each lanthanide ion is 9-coordinate in the complexes with the Me(3)L and H(3)L ligands and 10-coordinate in the complexes with the H(2)L ligand, in which counter anion and solvent molecules are also coordinated. The complexes show a screw arrangement of ligands around the lanthanide ions, and their enantiomorphs form racemate crystals. Luminescence studies have been carried out on the solid and solution-state samples. The triplet energy levels of Me(3)L, H(3)L, and H(2)L are 21?000, 22?700, and 23?000 cm(-1), respectively, which were determined from the phosphorescence spectra of their Gd(3+) complexes. The Me(3)L ligand is an effective sensitizer for Sm(3+) and Eu(3+) ions. Efficient luminescence of Sm(3+), Eu(3+), Tb(3+), and Dy(3+) ions was observed in complexes with the H(3)L and H(2)L ligands. Ligand modification by changing imidazole groups alters their triplet energy, and results in different sensitizing ability towards lanthanide ions.  相似文献

A new ligand, (E)-N'-[1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene]isonicotinohydrazide (HL), was prepared by condensation of 2-acetylpyridine and isonicotinohydrazide in ethanol. Its two lanthanide(III) complexes, [Nd(III)(L)(2)(NO(3))(CH(3)OH)(2)]·CH(3)CH(2)OH (1), and [Pr(III)(L)(2)(NO(3))(CH(3)OH)(2)]·CH(3)CH(2)OH (2), have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of element analyses, molar conductivities and IR spectra. The structure of complex 2 has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction. In addition, the DNA-binding properties of the two complexes have been investigated by electronic absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroic (CD) spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. The experimental results suggest that the two complexes bind to DNA via a groove binding mode, and the binding affinity of complex 2 is higher than that of complex 1. Furthermore, the antioxidant activities (superoxide and hydroxyl radical) of the ligand and its metal complexes were determined by spectrophotometry methods in vitro. These complexes were found to possess potent antioxidant activity and be superior to standard antioxidant like mannitol.  相似文献

A family of six dinuclear lanthanide complexes have been obtained via in situ hydrothermal synthesis with lanthanide ions as catalyst. These six complexes are formulated as [Ln(2)(3-Htzba)(2)(3-tzba)(2)(H(2)O)(8)]·4H(2)O [Ln = Gd, 1; Dy, 2; Eu, 3; Tb, 4; Sm, 5; Er, 6; 3-H(2)tzba = 3-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)benzoic acid]. The magnetic investigations show that complex 2 behaves as a single-molecule magnet (SMM) with a quantum relaxation time of ~10(-2) s.  相似文献

Biomimetic hydrolysis of DNA or RNA is of increasing importance in biotechnology and medicine. The ability to cleave nucleic acids efficiently, in a non-degradative manner, and with high levels of selectivity for site or structure will be required by many applications for the manipulation of genes, the design of structural probes and the development of novel therapeutics1. The pinene-bipyridine carboxylic derivatives (+)- and (-)-HL, designed to form configurationally stable lanthanide complexes, proved their effectiveness as chiral building blocks for the synthesis of lanthanide-containing superstructures. Indeed a self-assembly process takes place with complete diastereoselectivity between the enantiomerically pure ligand L(-) and Ln(III) ions (La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er), thus leading to the quantitative formation of a trinuclear supramolecular architecture with the general formula [Ln(3)(L)(6)(mu(3)-OH)(H(2)O)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (abbreviated as tris(Ln[L](2))). This class of C(3)-symmetrical compounds was structurally characterized in the solid state and solution. Electrospray (ES) mass spectrometric and (1)H NMR spectroscopic analyses indicated that the trinuclear species are maintained in solution (CH(2)Cl(2)) and are stable in the investigated concentration range (10(-2)-10(-6) m). The photophysical properties of the ligand HL and its tris(Ln[L](2)) complexes were studied at room temperature and 77 K, thus demonstrating that the metal-centered luminescence is well sensitized both for the visible and near-IR emitters. The chiroptical properties of tris(Ln[L](2)) complexes were investigated by means of circular dichroism (CD) and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). A high CD activity is displayed in the region of pi-pi* transitions of bipyridine. CPL spectra of tris(Eu[(+)-L](2)) and tris(Tb[(+)-L](2)) present large dissymmetry factors g(em) for the sensitive transitions of Eu(III) ((5)D(0)-->(7)F(1), g(em)=-0.088) and Tb(III) ((5)D(4)-->(7)F(5), g(em)=-0.0806). The self-recognition capabilities of the system were tested in the presence of artificial enantiomeric mixtures of the ligand. (1)H NMR spectra identical to those of the enantiomerically pure complexes and investigations by CD spectroscopic analysis reveal an almost complete chiral self-recognition in the self-assembly process, thus leading to mixtures of homochiral trinuclear structures.  相似文献

Two new flexible exo-bidentate ligands were designed and synthesized, incorporating different backbone chain lengths bearing two salicylamide arms, namely 2,2'-(2,2'-oxybis(ethane-2,1-diyl)bis(oxy))bis(N-benzylbenzamide) (L(I)) and 2,2'-(2,2'-(ethane-1,2-diylbis(oxy))bis(ethane-2,1-diyl))bis(oxy)bis(N-benzylbenzamide) (L(II)). These two structurally related ligands are used as building blocks for constructing diverse lanthanide polymers with luminescent properties. Among two series of lanthanide nitrate complexes which have been characterized by elemental analysis, TGA analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, and IR spectroscopy, ten new coordination polymers have been determined using X-ray diffraction analysis. All the coordination polymers exhibit the same metal-to-ligand molar ratio of 2?:?3. L(I), as a bridging ligand, reacts with lanthanide nitrates forming two different types of 2D coordination complexes: herringbone framework {[Ln(2)(NO(3))(6)(L(I))(3)·mC(4)H(8)O(2)](∞) (Ln = La (1), and Pr (2), m = 1, 2)} as type I,; and honeycomb framework {[Ln(2)(NO(3))(6)(L(I))(3)·nCH(3)OH](∞) (Ln = Nd (3), Eu (4), Tb (5), and Er (6), n = 0 or 3)} as type II, which change according to the decrease in radius of the lanthanide. For L(II), two distinct structure types of 1D ladder-like coordination complexes were formed with decreasing lanthanide radii: [Ln(2)(NO(3))(6)(L(II))(3)·2C(4)H(8)O(2)](∞) (Ln = La (7), Pr (8), Nd (9)) as type III, [Ln(2)(NO(3))(6)(L(I))(3)·mC(4)H(8)O(2)·nCH(3)OH](∞) (Ln = Eu (10), Tb (11), and Er (12), m, n = 2 or 0) as type IV. The progressive structural variation from the 2D supramolecular framework to 1D ladder-like frameworks is attributed to the varying chain length of the backbone group in the flexible ligands. The photophysical properties of trivalent Sm, Eu, Tb, and Dy complexes at room temperature were also investigated in detail.  相似文献

Metathesis of lanthanide tris di-tert-butyl beta-diketonates ([Ln(thd)3] Ln=Pr, Nd, Eu, Tb) with one or two equivalents of group 1 salts of the sulfur bridged binaphtholate dianion [1,1'-S(2-OC10H4But(2)-3,6)2]2-, [M2L], M=K, Li affords luminescent mono- and bis-ligand substituted complexes ML[LnL(thd)2].L; M=K, Ln=Pr , Nd , Eu and Tb (L=thf, diethyl ether or toluene) and M(thf)2[LnL2(thd)]; M=Li, Ln=Pr , Nd , Eu , Tb . The potassium salt [K2L] affords mono-L substituted complexes most cleanly, while the lithium salt [Li2L] yields the bis-L substituted complexes most cleanly. The L ligands function as antenna for the sensitised lanthanide-centred emission in Eu3+ and Tb3+ complexes. The X-ray single-crystal structures of mono- and bis-L lanthanide complexes of Nd3+ are presented.  相似文献

A new ligand, 1-cyclohexyl-3-tosylurea (H(2)L), was prepared by condensation ethyl N-(3-tossulfonyl) carbamate and cyclohexanamine. Its two lanthanide(III) complexes, Ln(H(2)L)(3) . 3NO(3) [Ln=Nd (1), and Eu (2)], have been synthesized and characterized on the base of element analyses, ESI-MS, molar conductivities, IR spectra and thermogravimetry/differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). In addition, the DNA-binding properties of the ligand and its complexes have been investigated by electronic absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroic (CD) spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. The experiment results suggest that the ligand and its two complexes bind to DNA via a groove binding mode, and the binding affinity of the complex 2 is higher than that of the complex 1 and the ligand. Furthermore, the antioxidant activity (superoxide and hydroxyl radical) of the ligand and its metal complexes was determined by using spectrophotometer methods in vitro. These complexes were found to possess potent antioxidant activity and be better than standard antioxidants like vitamin C and mannitol. In particular, complex 2 displayed excellent activity on the superoxide and hydroxyl radical.  相似文献

Reactions of tripodal ligand 1,3,5-tris(imidazole-1-ylmethyl)-2,4,6-trimethylbenzene (L) with lanthanide metal salts and triethyl orthoformate led to the formation of six bowl-like dinuclear compounds [Ln2(L)(HL)(NO3)6(HCOO)].3CH3OH (Ln = Gd 1, Tb 2, Dy 3, Er 4, Yb 5, and Eu 6). The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that six complexes are isomorphous and isostructural and that the dinuclear molecules are further connected by hydrogen bonds and pi-pi interactions, resulting in 3D channel-like structures. The luminescence properties have been studied, and the results showed that the Tb(III) (2) and Eu(III) (6) complexes exhibited sensitized luminescence in the visible region and their luminescence lifetimes in powder and DMSO-d6 solution are in the range of milliseconds. The Yb(III) complex (5) emits typical near-infrared luminescence in DMSO-d6 solution. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements of 1-6 showed that complex 1 (Gd) is nearly a paramagnet and complexes 2 (Tb), 3 (Dy), and 4 (Er) show the ferromagnetic coupling between magnetic centers, whereas the depopulation of the Stark levels in complexes 5 (Yb) and 6 (Eu) leads to a continuous decrease in (chi M)T when the sample is cooled from 300 to 1.8 K.  相似文献

Several new pyrazolato-3,5-dicarboxylato (pzdc) bridged dinuclear chromate(III) complexes containing linear tetradentate O-N-N-O type ligands were synthesized and structurally characterized. Among them, the X-ray structure of the eddp complex Na[Cr2(eddp)(mu-pzdc)].6H2O (eddp = ethylenediamine-N,N'-dipropionate) was determined to have a (sym-cis)-(unsym-cis) geometrical configuration with intramolecular three-center hydrogen bonds, entrapping the unfavored sym-cis configuration for the Cr(eddp) moiety as well as the favored unsym-cis one. As a pair of positional disorders, there were also found to be two conformational isomers with respect to the absolute configurations of the coordinated asymmetric nitrogen atom at the G (in-plane) ring for the unsym-cis moiety. Moreover, chiral pzdc-bridged dinuclear complexes with another type of O-N-N-O ligand, 1,2-cyclohexanediamine-N,N'-diacetate (cdda), were successfully synthesized, isolated, and characterized by column chromatographic behavior, elemental analysis, and chiroptical spectra. There were two diastereomers for Na[(R,R-cdda)Cr(mu-pzdc)Cr(S,S-cdda)] and only one isomer for Na[(R,R-cdda)Cr(mu-pzdc)Cr(R,S-cdda)] and Na[(R,R-cdda)Cr(mu-pzdc)Cr(edda)] (R,R- or S,S- and R,S-cdda = R,R-trans- or S,S-trans- and R,S-cis-1,2-cyclohexanediamine-N,N'-diacetate, and edda = ethylenediamine-N,N'-diacetate). From their circular dichroism (CD) spectra, these complexes could exhibit the delta-delta absolute configuration with ((sym-cis-R,R-cdda)-(unsym-cis-edda or S,S- or R,S-cdda)) geometrical configuration, indicating the abnormal eq-eq (N-Ceq) configuration for the R,R-cdda. The comparison among the CD spectra of the ((cdda)-(cdda)) complexes revealed that two diastereomers of the ((R,R-cdda)-(S,S-cdda)) complex correspond to the conformational isomers resulting from the difference in geometrical orientations of the secondary amine protons on two coordinated asymmetric nitrogen atoms with the opposite absolute configuration in the unsym-cis-S,S-cdda moiety. In a series of the pzdc-bridged Cr(III) complexes the anomalous conformations in two different geometrical configurations could be entrapped probably owing to stereognostic coordination through the intramolecular N-H...O hydrogen bond interaction.  相似文献

The self-assembly of dinuclear triple helical lanthanide ion complexes (helicates), in aqueous solution, is investigated utilizing laser-induced, lanthanide luminescence spectroscopy. A series of dinuclear lanthanide (III) helicates (Ln(III)) based on 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (dipicolinic acid, dpa) coordinating units was synthesized by linking two dpa moieties using the organic diamines (1R,2R)-diaminocyclohexane (chxn-R,R) and 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane (dpm). Luminescence excitation spectroscopy of the Eu3+ 7F0-->5D0 transition shows the apparent cooperative formation of neutral triple helical complexes in aqueous solution, with a [Eu2L3] stoichiometry. Eu3+ excitation peak wavelengths and excited-state lifetimes correspond to those of the [Eu(dpa)3]3- model complex. CD studies of the Nd(III) helicate Nd2(dpa-chxn-R,R)3 reveal optical activity of the f-f transitions, indicating that the chiral linking group induces a stable chirality at the metal ion center. Molecular mechanics calculations using CHARMm suggest that the delta delta configuration at the Nd3+ ion centers is induced by the chxn-R,R linker. Stability constants were determined for both ligands with Eu3+, yielding identical results: log K = 31.6 +/- 0.2 (K in units of M-4). Metal-metal distances calculated from Eu3+-->Nd3+ energy-transfer experiments show that the complexes have metal-metal distances close to those calculated by molecular modeling. The fine structure in the Tb3+ emission bands is consistent with the approximate D3 symmetry as anticipated for helicates.  相似文献

A convenient and one-pot synthetic method of lanthanide thiolate compounds was developed. An excess of metallic samarium, europium, and ytterbium directly reacted with diaryl disulfides in THF to give selectively Ln(II) thiolate complexes, [Ln(SAr)(&mgr;-SAr)(thf)(3)](2) (1, Ln = Sm; 2, Ln = Eu; Ar = 2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl), Yb(SAr)(2)(py)(4) (3, py = pyridine), and [{Ln(hmpa)(3)}(2)(&mgr;-SPh)(3)][SPh] (6, Ln = Sm; 7, Ln = Eu; 8, Ln = Yb; hmpa = hexamethylphosphoric triamide). Reaction of metallic lanthanides with 3 equiv of disulfides afforded Ln(III) thiolate complexes, Ln(SAr)(3)(py)(n)()(thf)(3)(-)(n)() (9a, Ln = Sm, n = 3; 9b, Ln = Sm, n = 2; 10, Ln = Yb, n = 3) and Ln(SPh)(3)(hmpa)(3) (11, Ln = Sm; 12, Ln = Eu; 13, Ln = Yb). Thus, Ln(II) and Ln(III) thiolate complexes were prepared from the same source by controlling the stoichiometry of the reactants. X-ray analysis of 8 revealed that 8 has the first ionic structure composed of triply bridged dinuclear cation and benezenethiolate anion [8, orthorhombic, space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with a = 21.057(9), b = 25.963(7), c = 16.442(8) ?, V = 8988(5) ?(3), Z = 4, R = 0.040, R(w) = 0.039 for 5848 reflections with I > 3sigma(I) and 865 parameters]. The monomeric structures of 11 and 13 were revealed by X-ray crystallographic studies [11, triclinic, space group P&onemacr; with a = 14.719(3), b = 17.989(2), c = 11.344(2) ?, alpha = 97.91(1), beta = 110.30(2), gamma = 78.40(1) degrees, V = 2751.9(9) ?(3), Z = 2, R = 0.045, R(w) = 0.041 for 7111 reflections with I > 3sigma(I) and 536 parameters; 13, triclinic, space group P&onemacr; with a = 14.565(2), b = 17.961(2), c = 11.302(1) ?, alpha = 97.72(1), beta = 110.49(1), gamma = 78.37(1) degrees, V = 2706.0(7) ?(3), Z = 2, R = 0.031, R(w) = 0.035 for 9837 reflections with I > 3sigma(I) and 536 parameters]. A comparison with the reported mononuclear and dinuclear lanthanide thiolate complexes has been made to indicate that the Ln-S bonds weakened by the coordination of HMPA to lanthanide metals have ionic character.  相似文献

Factors that influence aggregation of lanthanide(III) (Ln(III)) ions to form polynuclear complexes were studied utilizing 1-aziridineethanol as a versatile source of macrocyclic and acyclic chelates. The facile ring-opening cyclo-oligomerization of 1-aziridineethanol leads to the formation of a series of polyaza cyclic oligomers (series A). In the presence of ethylenediamine, a competing N-alkylation reaction occurs to produce a new class of acyclic ligands (series B). The cyclo-oligomerization of four 1-aziridineethanol units is the most favorable process, leading to the formation of the 12-membered cyclen-type macrocycle, H(4)L(1) (1,4,7,10-tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraaza-cyclododecane). Ring-opening cyclo-oligomerization of 1-aziridineethanol in the presence of Ln(III) ions produces self-assembled mononuclear, tetranuclear, and pentanuclear compounds of H(4)L(1). In the presence of ethylenediamine, oligomerization of 1-aziridineethanol results in a dinuclear complex of an acyclic poly(amino-alkoxide) H(2)L(2). The coordinative unsaturation of (i) the alkoxy sites of [H(x)L(1)](x)(-)(4) (where x < 4) and (ii) Ln(III) ions in coordination numbers less than nine are critical factors in the formation of the polynuclear Ln(III) complexes. The identities of mononuclear, dinuclear, tetranuclear, and pentanuclear complexes herein discussed were established by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

Four bis-tetradentate N(4)-substituted-3,5-{bis[bis-N-(2-pyridinemethyl)]aminomethyl}-4H-1,2,4-triazole ligands, L(Tz1)-L(Tz4), differing only in the triazole N(4) substituent R (where R is amino, pyrrolyl, phenyl, or 4-tertbutylphenyl, respectively) have been synthesized, characterized, and reacted with M(II)(BF(4))(2)·6H(2)O (M(II) = Cu, Ni or Co) and Co(SCN)(2). Experiments using all 16 possible combinations of metal salt and L(TzR) were carried out: 14 pure complexes were obtained, 11 of which are dinuclear, while the other three are tetranuclear. The dinuclear complexes include two copper(II) complexes, [Cu(II)(2)(L(Tz2))(H(2)O)(4)](BF(4))(4) (2), [Cu(II)(2)(L(Tz4))(BF(4))(2)](BF(4))(2) (4); two nickel(II) complexes, [Ni(II)(2)(L(Tz1))(H(2)O)(3)(CH(3)CN)](BF(4))(4)·0.5(CH(3)CN) (5) and [Ni(II)(2)(L(Tz4))(H(2)O)(4)](BF(4))(4)·H(2)O (8); and seven cobalt(II) complexes, [Co(II)(2)(L(Tz1))(μ-BF(4))](BF(4))(3)·H(2)O (9), [Co(II)(2)(L(Tz2))(μ-BF(4))](BF(4))(3)·2H(2)O (10), [Co(II)(2)(L(Tz3))(H(2)O)(2)](BF(4))(4) (11), [Co(II)(2)(L(Tz4))(μ-BF(4))](BF(4))(3)·3H(2)O (12), [Co(II)(2)(L(Tz1))(SCN)(4)]·3H(2)O (13), [Co(II)(2)(L(Tz2))(SCN)(4)]·2H(2)O (14), and [Co(II)(2)(L(Tz3))(SCN)(4)]·H(2)O (15). The tetranuclear complexes are [Cu(II)(4)(L(Tz1))(2)(H(2)O)(2)(BF(4))(2)](BF(4))(6) (1), [Cu(II)(4)(L(Tz3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)(μ-F)(2)](BF(4))(6)·0.5H(2)O (3), and [Ni(II)(4)(L(Tz3))(2)(H(2)O)(4)(μ-F(2))](BF(4))(6)·6.5H(2)O (7). Single crystal X-ray structure determinations revealed different solvent content from that found by microanalysis of the bulk sample after drying under a vacuum and confirmed that 5', 8', 9', 11', 12', and 15' are dinuclear while 1' and 7' are tetranuclear. As expected, magnetic measurements showed that weak antiferromagnetic intracomplex interactions are present in 1, 2, 4, 7, and 8, stabilizing a singlet spin ground state. All seven of the dinuclear cobalt(II) complexes, 9-15, have similar magnetic behavior and remain in the [HS-HS] state between 300 and 1.8 K.  相似文献
