Solid complexes of five derivatives of thio-Schiff bases with La(III) and Ce(III) ions were prepared and characterized by elemental and thermogravimetric analyses. The suggested general formula of the solid complexes is [ML2(H2O)X]·2H2O, whereM=trivalent lanthanide ion,L=Schiff base andX=Cl? or ClO 4 ? . Information about the water of hydration, the coordinated water molecules, the coordination chemistry and the thermal stability of these complexes was obtained and is discussed. Additionally, a general scheme of thermal decomposition of the lanthanide-Schiff base complexes is proposed.  相似文献

Three ligands, 2-(3-(carboxymethyl)-1,10-phenanthroline-[5,6-d]imidazole-1-yl)acetate (CPIA), 2-(benzo[d][1,3]dioxol-4-yl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline (BIP), and 2-(9H-carbazol-3-yl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline (CIP), and their complexes, [Co(phen)2(CPIA)]3+ (1) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), [Co(phen)2(BIP)]3+ (2), and [Co(phen)2(CIP)]3+ (3), have been synthesized and characterized. Binding of the three complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) has been investigated by spectroscopic methods, cyclic voltammetry, and viscosity measurements. The three complexes bind to DNA through an intercalative mode, and the size and shape of the intercalative ligands have significant effects on the binding affinity of complexes to CT-DNA.  相似文献

Nano structure metal complexes of Eu (III) and La (III) with two different nitrogen donor tridentate ligands: N-(2-Aminoethyl)-1,3-propanediamine “AEPD = L1” and 1-(2-Aminoethyl)piperazine “AEPz = L2” , were prepared. All synthesized compounds were identified and confirmed by elemental analyses, molar conductivity and spectral analyses (UV–Visible, IR and mass). Conductance measurement indicates that all the complexes are non-electrolytic in nature and the complexes were isolated in 1:1 molar ratio (metal: ligand). Thermal decomposition profiles were consistent with the proposed formulations. The ligands behave as a tridentate ligand through three nitrogen centers of donation. The nano-size was investigated by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The geometric structure properties were analyzed using density functional theory (DFT) for ligands and their Lanthanum (III) complexes. The complexes were screened against some bacteria strains, hepatocellular cell line and diphenylhydrazine free radical. The molecular docking active sites interactions were evaluated.  相似文献

Some new Schiff bases derivates from 2-furaldehyde and phenylenediamines (L1-3) and their complexes with lanthanum (La), samarium (Sm), gadolinium (Gd) and erbium (Er) have been synthesized. These complexes with general formula [Ln(L1-3)2(NO3)2]NO3·nH2O (Ln = La, Sm, Gd, Er) were characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis, FT-IR and fluorescence spectroscopy, molar conductivity and thermal analysis. The metallic ions were found to be eight coordinated. The emission spectra of these complexes indicate the typical luminescence characteristics of the Sm(III), La(III), Er(III) and Gd(III) ions.  相似文献

5-Chloro-2-methoxybenzoates of La(III), Gd(III) and Lu(III) were synthesized as penta-, mono- and tetrahydrates with a metal to ligand ratio of 1:3 and with white colour typical of La(III), Gd(III) and Lu(III) ions. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and FIR spectra, thermogravimetric and diffractometric studies. The carboxylate group appears to be a symmetrical, bidentate, chelating ligand. The complexes are polycrystalline compounds. Their thermal stabilities were studied in air and inert atmospheres. When heated they dehydrate to form anhydrous salts which next in air are decomposed through oxychlorides to the oxides of the respective metals while in inert atmosphere to the mixture of oxides, oxychlorides of lanthanides and carbon. The most thermally stable in air, nitrogen and argon atmospheres is 5-chloro-2-methoxybenzoate of Gd(III). A Schiff-base ligand derived from 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-formyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one (PMFP) and isoniazid was prepared and its La(III) complex was characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction. The La(III) is nine-coordinate in a space group P21/n. DNA-binding was investigated by UV-Vis, fluorescence titration, ethidium bromide displacement experiments, and viscosity measurements, which indicated that the ligand and La(III) complex strongly binds to calf thymus DNA presumably via groove binding and intercalation. The intrinsic binding constants of the ligand and La(III) complex were 0.86?×?105 and 2.46?×?105?mol?L?1, respectively. Antioxidant data from hydroxyl radical scavenging experiments in vitro suggest that the La(III) complex possesses higher scavenging ratio than the free ligand, metallic salt, and some standard antioxidants like mannitol.  相似文献

Two novel ligands containing two pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid conjugative units, 4-(2-(2,6-dicarbox-ypyridin-4-yl)vinyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (L(1)) and 4-(4-(2-(2,6-dicarboxypyridin-4-yl)vinyl)styryl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (L(2)) and their complexes with Tb(III) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and NMR. The ligand synthetic route was optimized and the yield of ligands reached over 78% as a result of the Wittig-Horner reaction used. The fluorescent intensities of these complexes with corresponding complexes with single pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid unit was compared. The result has shown that the ligands with two pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid units are the excellent sensitizers to lanthanide fluorescence. Also, we investigated the fluorescence properties of these complexes in different solution and in different pH value. Due to their excellent green-emmiter, they would be a potential candidate material for applications in organic light-emitting devices and medical diagnosis.  相似文献

Summary The stoichiometric stability constants for La(III) and Y(III)L-serine complexes were determined by potentiometric methods at different ionic strengths adjusted with NaClO4 and at different temperatures. The overall changes in free energy (G o), enthalpy (H o), and entropy (S o) during the protonation ofL-serine and that accompanying the complex formation with the metal ions have been evaluated.

Zusammenfassung Die stöchiometrischen Komplexbildungskonstanten für La(III)- und Y(III)-L-Serin-Komplexe wurden mittels potentiometrischer Methoden bei verschiedenen Ionenstärken (mit NaClO4 adjustiert) und bei verschiedenen Temperaturen bestimmt. Die Änderungen in der freien Energie (G o), Enthalpie (H o) und Entropie (S o) während der Protonierung und der Komplexbildung mit den Metallionen wurden ermittelt.

The reactions of Ga(acac)3 with salicylaldoxime (saoH2) and methyl-salicylaldoxime (Me-saoH2) in dichloromethane/hexane afforded the complexes [Ga(acac)(saoH)2] (1) and [Ga(acac)3][Ga(acac)(MesaoH)2] (2), respectively, in high yields. The crystal structures of 1 and 2 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Both complexes are mononuclear with the Ga(III) atoms being in octahedral environments surrounded by two bidentate chelate R-saoH and one bidentate chelate acac ligands. A [Ga(acac)3] moiety has co-crystallized along with the methylsalicylaldoximato complex. Characteristic IR as well as NMR data are discussed in terms of the nature of bonding in the structures of the two complexes. 1H and 13C NMR data in CDCl3 indicate that the salicylaldoximato complexes isomerize in solution.  相似文献

Eight chromium(III) complexes of tetradentate Schiff bases have been prepared in situ by condensing of a substituted salicylaldehyde compound with ethylenediamine. These were characterized by elemental analysis, m.p., IR, molar conductivity, magnetic moment measurements, and electronic spectra. The free ligands were also characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectra. The 13C NMR spectra are discussed in terms of possible substituent effects. The IR and electronic spectra of the free ligand and the complexes are compared and discussed. The electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectra of four free ligands and their complexes were measured. The deconvolution of the visible spectra of the complexes, C2v symmetry, in DMSO yields three peaks at ca. 15 600–17 600, 18 400–20 400 and 20 000–23 100, and are assigned to the three d–d transitions, 4B1g → 4Eg(4T2g); 4B1g → 4B2g(4T2g); 4B1g → 4Eg(4T1g), respectively. The complexes showed magnetic moment in the range of 3.5–4.2 BM which corresponds to three unpaired electrons.  相似文献

Self-assembly of CuSO4, para-methyl-2-phenyl acetate and 1,10-phenanthroline afforded good-quality crystalline complex in quantitative yield. The complex was characterized by FTIR and UV-visible spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and powder and single-crystal XRD studies. Its structure was found to possess axially elongated octahedral symmetry with CuO4N2 chromophore. Its purity was assessed by powder XRD spectrum. Absorption study yielded a broad band corresponding to 2Eg2T2 g transition. Electrochemical solution study indicated diffusion-controlled irreversible electron transfer process corresponding to Cu(II)/Cu(I) redox couple with diffusion coefficient = 7.89(±0.1)×10?9 cm2s?1. Results of spectroscopic techniques support each other. Complex exhibited excellent DNA-binding ability through UV-visible spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry yielding Kb values 1.399 × 104 M?1 and 5.81 × 103 M?1, respectively. The complex exhibited significant activity against bacterial strains Escherichia coli, Micrococcus luteus and Staphylococcus aureus and good activity against Bacillus subtilis. These preliminary studies impart good biological relevance on the synthesized complex.  相似文献

The preparation, for the first time, of the deprotonated complexes of oxamic acid with La(III), Gd(III), Tb(III), Er(III), Tm(III) and Lu(III) is reported. Analytical results, conductometric measurements, magnetic moments and spectral data (IR and diffuse reflectance spectra) are discussed in terms of possible structural types. Two complexes of the type [Co(en)2IP]3+ (IP = imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]-phenanthroline) and [Co(en)2PIP]3+ (PIP = 2-phenylimidazo[4,5-f][1,10]-phenanthroline) have been synthesized and characterized by UV–VIS, IR and1H NMR spectral methods. Absorption spectroscopy, emission spectroscopy, viscosity measurements and DNA melting techniques have been used to investigate the binding of these two complexes with calf thymus DNA and photocleavage studies have been used to investigate the binding of these complexes with plasmid DNA. The spectroscopic studies together with viscosity measurements and DNA melting studies support that complexes 1 and 2 bind to CT DNA(=calf thymus DNA) by an intercalation mode via IP or PIP into the base pairs of DNA. Complex 2 binds more avidly to CT DNA than 1, which is consistent with the extended planar ring π system of PIP. Noticeably, the two complexes have been found to be efficient photosensitisers for strand scissions in plasmid DNA.  相似文献

Complexes of Co(III) with 2-hydroxyacetophenone-thiosemicarbazone, 2-hydroxy-3-methylacetophenonethiosemicarbazone and 2-hydroxy-4-methyl-acetophenonethiosemicarbazone, and the addition complexes of 2-hydroxy-acetophenone thiosemicarbazone with ammonia, pyridine, aniline,o-toluidine,m-toluidine andp-toluidine have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of their conductivities, electronic and infrared spectral data. Two ruthenium(III) complexes containing ethylenediaminetetraacetate(edta), viz. [{Ru(Hedta)}2L]·xH2O L = 4,4′-bipyridine(bpy) (1) and 4,4′-azopyridine(Azpy) (2), have been synthesized by the reaction between K[Ru(Hedta)Cl]·1.5H2O and the corresponding N-heterocycles. Complex 1 was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The products were characterized by IR, UV–vis, cyclic voltammetry, and magnetic techniques. Their DNA-binding activities were investigated using electronic absorption spectroscopic methods and ?uorescence quenching; the experimental results show that these two ruthenium complexes may bind to CT-DNA through intercalation modes.  相似文献
