Temperature dependence of the quadrupole interaction of67Ge and67Zn ins-p metals

The temperature dependence of the electric quadrupole interaction was measured on the 9/2⁺ isomeric state of⁶⁷Ge in metallic Zn, Cd, In, and Sn and on the 9/2⁺ isomeric state of⁶⁷Zn in Cd metal. For all investigated systems, the temperature dependence reproduces very well aT ^1.5-relation. The analysis shows that the strength of the temperature dependence in the pure metals is correlated to 1/(M _D ² ) ( _D =Debye-temperature). This favours lattice vibrations as the main component of the temperature dependence of the electric field gradient. The strength of the temperature dependence measured on an impurity atom generally differs from the value of the pure host. Possible explanations for this effect are discussed.     

Magnetic moment measurements in67Ga

The ratio of the g-factors of the 5/2^–, 0.359 MeV and 15/2⁺, 3.578 MeV levels in⁶⁷Ga has been found to be (1±0.32)(0.40±0.09) by means of the recoil-into-gas (helium) integral perturbed angular correlation technique. The studied states were populated by the reaction⁵⁷Fe(¹²C,pn)⁶⁷Ga at E_C=40 MeV.

A new class of leptons, with its own quantum number carried by the supersymmetry generator, includes a Goldstone-neutrino, a photon-neutrinos, gluon-neutrinos and heavy leptons. The Goldstone-and-photon-neutrinos can be produced in low-energy processes, but only in pairs. Ordinary leptons and quarks are associated with heavy scalar bosons under supersymmetry. The latter decay quickly into the corresponding leptons or quarks, emitting a Goldstone or a photon-neutrino. Some of the phenomenological implications are discussed.     

67Zn Mössbauer spectroscopy

Investigations on⁶⁷Zn Mössbauer spectroscopy are reviewed In the theoretical part, mainly phenomena to be observed due to the long nuclear lifetime of the Mössbauer state are discussed. Such phenomena include e. g. transient effects due to the phase modulation, the exceptionally large relative contribution of the second order Doppler shift and the narrowest line width observable today. Finally, a historical review of the⁶⁷Zn Mössbauer measurements is presented. Results of the experimental investigations of various research groups are given in chronological order.
