InCl3-assisted one-pot synthesis of 1-aminocarbazoles

A novel InCl₃-mediated one-pot reaction leading to 1-aminocarbazoles is reported. Starting from easily available 2-acetyl-1H-indole, the reaction involves the alkylation of C-3 with a prop-2-yn-1-ol followed by a domino aminobenzannulation reaction in the presence of a secondary amine. The indium salt is most likely involved as catalyst in all three steps of the one-pot reaction. Starting from 2-acetyl-1H-indole and a series of prop-2-yn-1-ols and secondary amines a small library of products has been obtained.     

Microwave-assisted efficient, one-pot, three-component synthesis of 3,5-disubstituted 1,2,4-oxadiazoles under solvent-free conditions

A novel synthesis of 1,2,4-oxadiazoles is described from a one-pot, three-component reaction between nitriles, hydroxylamine, and aldehydes under microwave irradiation and solvent-free conditions in excellent yields.     

Iodine-catalyzed three-component one-pot synthesis of naphthopyranopyrimidines under solvent-free conditions

Iodine is found to be a highly efficient catalyst for the three-component coupling (3CC) of aldehydes, β-naphthol, and 1,3-dimethylbarbituric acid under solvent-free conditions to afford the corresponding 8,10-dimethyl-12-aryl-12H-naphtho[1′,2′5,6]pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine-9,11-diones in good yields with high selectivity. The use of readily available iodine makes this method very simple, convenient, and cost-effective.     

KCl-KBO2-K2CO3, K2MoO4-KBO2-K2CO3, and K2WO4-KBO2-K2CO3 ternary systems

phase diagrams of KCl-KBO₂-K₂CO₃, K₂MoO₄-KBO₂-K₂CO₃, and K₂WO₄-KBO₂-K₂CO₃ ternary systems were studied by a calculation-experimental method and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The coordinates of ternary eutectics were determined to be E ₁: 622°C, 8.5 mol % KBO₂, 56.5 mol % KCl, and 35 mol % K₂CO₃; E ₂: 710°C, 23 mol % KBO₂, 43 mol % K₂CO₃, and 34 mol % K₂MoO₄; E ₃: 710°C, 23 mol % KBO₂, 43 mol % K₂CO₃, and 34 mol % K₂WO₄. The specific heats of melting of the eutectics were determined.

ZnCl₂-catalyzed one-pot multicomponent synthesis of 2-amino-3,5-dicarbonitrile-6-thio-pyridines under microwave heating and conventional heating is described.     

Facile synthesis of indoles by K2CO3 catalyzed cyclization reaction of 2-ethynylanilines in water

The cyclization reaction of 2-ethynyl-N-sulfonylanilides proceeded efficiently in water with the presence of a catalytic amount of K₂CO₃ under transition metal-free condition to give indoles in high yields. The recovery and reusability of the present catalytic system were investigated.     

Zinc perchlorate catalyzed one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidinones under solvent-free conditions

Abstract

In this paper, we report zinc perchlorate hexahydrate [Zn(ClO₄)₂?6H₂O] as a highly effective catalyst for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones under solvent-free conditions. These improved reaction conditions allow the preparation of a wide variety of substituted dihydropyrimidinones in high yields and purity under mild reaction conditions. Compared with the classical Biginelli reaction, this method has the advantage of excellent yields and short reaction time in solvent-free conditions.     

Self-sorting under solvent-free conditions: one-pot synthesis of a hetero[3]rotaxane

The one-pot synthesis of a hetero[3]rotaxane, assembled from five different molecular components under solvent-free conditions, through "self-sorting" of the bead and stopper units during the threading and stoppering processes, is reported.     

Microwave-assisted methylation of phenols with tetramethylammonium chloride in the presence of K2CO3 or Cs2CO3

We have evaluated the potential of using tetramethylammonium chloride (Me₄NCl) as an alternative methylating agent for phenols under microwave-assisted conditions. Its chemical behavior was tested in a reaction with 2-naphthol in the presence of various bases and solvents. The method was then applied in 1,2-dimethoxyethane or toluene under heterogeneous conditions for the O-methylation of a series of phenolic compounds. We found that many simple phenols can be methylated in the presence of K₂CO₃, whereas some other less-reactive phenols require the presence of the more reactive Cs₂CO₃.

A facile and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols via the one-pot multi-component condensation of 2-naphthol with aromatic aldehydes and acetamide or thioacetamide in the presence of melamine-Br3 under solvent-free conditions. There are several advantages to this reaction, including high yields, short reaction time, and high catalytic efficiency.     

Strontium chloride-catalyzed one-pot synthesis of 4(3H)- quinazolinones under solvent-free conditions

Synthesis of potassium tungstate in the K2CO3-KNO3-WO3 system

The interaction of the components in the potassium carbonate-potassium nitrate-tungsten(VI) oxide system was studied. The reaction of WO₃ with a potassium carbonate-potassium nitrate mixture was found to occur at a higher rate than the reaction with pure potassium carbonate at the same temperature. Straightforward and highly efficient catalyst-free one-pot synthesis of dithiocarbamates under solvent-free conditions

[Structure: see text] A highly efficient and simple synthesis of dithiocarbamates is possible based on the one-pot reaction of amines, CS2, and alkyl halides without using a catalyst under solvent-free conditions. The mild reaction conditions, high yields, and broad scope of the reaction illustrate the good synthetic utility of this method. The reaction is a highly atom-economic process for production of S-alkyl thiocarbamates and successfully can be used in high quantities in the pharmaceutical or agrochemical industries.     

Facile one-pot synthesis of 2-arylbenzothiazoles catalyzed by H3PO4/TiO2-ZrO2 (1/1) under solvent-free conditions

A highly efficient and simple protocol for the preparation of 2-arylbenzothiazoles through condensation of 2-aminothiophenol and different aldehydes in the presence of H₃PO₄/TiO₂-ZrO₂(1/1)-cetyl pyridinium bromide (CPB) is described. The reaction proceeded under mild and solvent-free conditions to afford 2-arylbenzothiazole derivatives. In this method, the title compounds were obtained in good to excellent yields and short reaction times. The structures of synthesized products were identified by infrared, ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, and mass spectroscopy.

Synthesis of 3-aminoisoxazolmethylnaphthols via one-pot three-component reaction under solvent-free conditions

A one-pot three-component condensation reaction of 3-amino-5-methylisoxazole, aryl aldehyde and 2-naphthol to afford the corresponding 3-amino isoxazolmethylnaphthols in good to excellent yields. The remarkable features of this new procedure are high conversions, clean reaction condition, short reaction time, nonhazardous and environmentally friendly reaction condition, inexpensive and easily commercially availability of the catalyst and simple work-up procedures.     

Phase formation in the K2CO3-Sb2O3-WO3 system on heating

Specific features of phase formation in the K₂CO₃-Sb₂O₃-WO₃ system were studied. It was found that roasting at 1123 K gives rise to phases of variable composition K _x Sb _x W_{2 − x} O₆ (1.0 ≤ x ≤ 1.375) having a pyrochlore-type structure. A model of ion population of a regular system of points of this structure was proposed: antimony and tungsten ions randomly occupy 16c- positions; oxygen anions, 48f- positions; and potassium ions, 8b positions or 8b and 16d positions.
