Taking a typical local and industry-orientated applied chemistry major as an example with focusing on the major changes in the form and content of the petrochemical industry, the way to reform the core curriculum system and teaching contents is presented. Based on the changing tendency of refinement of the petrochemical industry, a complete curriculum system with distinctive industry characteristics is set up according to the principles of the emerging engineering education (3E) with several reasonable suggestions. A new model for the construction of a 3E major in chemistry-related majors is suggested. It is a good reference for the construction of curriculum systems for other local and industry-orientated colleges who want to make 3E reform. 相似文献

This "emerging engineering education (3E)" project "Upgrade and Practice of Chemistry-related Majors of Local and/or Specialized University Responding to the Industry Changes" was supported by the Ministry of Education. To aim at the issue of how to upgrade the chemistry-related majors of a local and/or specialized university responding to industry changes, an investigation on local regional economy and industry changes was carried out, the capability requirements of 3E for talents were analyzed, and the training objectives, graduation requirements as well as the new teaching models were also studied for the major to meet the future requirements. In the context of building innovative and higher educational powerful country, the theory research and practice of emerging engineering education (3E) are carried out in China. Depending on the first-class disciplines of chemistry, chemical engineering and materials, the curriculum system of fine chemicals 3E major is constructed in ECUST: thick foundation of scientific chemistry; strong integration of multidisciplinary modules such as biomedical, molecular engineering, functional molecular engineering, engineering foundation and chemical engineering; emphatical innovational curriculum.
