A classically chaotic system consisting of a Paul trapped ion and a sequences of standing laser pulses is treated quantum-mechanically. Under the circumstance of time-dependence, we derive the transition probability from the ion‘s motional state n to n‘, and find, in the first-order approximation, the classically chaotic character disappears.Theoretical analysis and numerical calculations show that by regulating the phase parameter Ф we can control thetransition probability. When Ф reaches some specific values, the transition from the state n to n‘ is forbidden and, for some laser periods, resonance occurs, which leads to the corresponding transitions between different motional states.The time-evolution of an initial motional state |ψz) just over one period is also studied in detail. 相似文献

The role of quantum statistics in the decay dynamics of a multi-particle state, which is suddenly released from a confining potential, is investigated. For an initially confined double particle state, the exact dynamics is presented for both bosons and fermions. The time-evolution of the probability to measure two-particle is evaluated and some counterintuitive features are discussed. For instance, it is shown that although there is a higher chance of finding the two bosons (as oppose to fermions, and even distinguishable particles) at the initial trap region, there is a higher chance (higher than fermions) of finding them on two opposite sides of the trap as if the repulsion between bosons is higher than the repulsion between fermions. The results are demonstrated by numerical simulations and are calculated analytically in the short-time approximation. Furthermore, experimental validation is suggested. 相似文献

This work is devoted to the study of the scaling, and the consequent power-law behavior, of the correlation function in a mutation-replication model known as the expansion-modification system. The latter is a biology inspired random substitution model for the genome evolution, which is defined on a binary alphabet and depends on a parameter interpreted as a mutation probability. We prove that the time-evolution of this system is such that any initial measure converges towards a unique stationary one exhibiting decay of correlations not slower than a power-law. We then prove, for a significant range of mutation probabilities, that the decay of correlations indeed follows a power-law with scaling exponent smoothly depending on the mutation probability. Finally we put forward an argument which allows us to give a closed expression for the corresponding scaling exponent for all the values of the mutation probability. Such a scaling exponent turns out to be a piecewise smooth function of the parameter. 相似文献

The Rosen-Zener model for association of atoms in a Bose-Einstein condensate is studied. Using a nonlinear Volterra integral equation, we obtain an analytic formula for final probability of the transition to the molecular state for weak interaction limit. Considering the strong coupling limit of high field intensities, we show that the system reveals two different time-evolution pictures depending on the detuning of the frequency of the associating field. For both limit cases we derive highly accurate formulas for the molecular state probability valid for the whole range of variation of time. Using these formulas, we show that at large detuning regime the molecule formation process occurs almost non-oscillatory in time and a Rosen-Zener pulse is not able to associate more than one third of atoms at any time point. The system returns to its initial all-atomic state at the end of the process and the maximal transition probability 1/6 is achieved when the field intensity reaches its peak. In contrast, at small detuning the evolution of the system displays large-amplitude oscillations between atomic and molecular populations. We find that the shape of the oscillations in the first approximation is defined by the field detuning only. Finally, a hidden singularity of the Rosen-Zener model due to the specific time-variation of the field amplitude at the beginning of the interaction is indicated. It is this singularity that stands for many of the qualitative and quantitative properties of the model. The singularity may be viewed as an effective resonance-touching. 相似文献

The dynamics of open quantum systems is formulated in terms of a probability distribution on the underlying Hilbert space. Defining the time-evolution of this probability distribution by means of a Liouvillemaster equation the time-dependent wave function of the system becomes a stochastic Markov process in the sense of classical probability theory. It is shown that the equation of motion for the two-point correlation function of the random wave function yields the quantum master equation for the statistical operator. Stochastic simulations of the Liouville-master equation are performed for a simple example from quantum optics and are shown to be in perfect agreement with the analytical solution of the corresponding equation for the statistical operator. 相似文献

Exploiting the thermo entangled state approach, we successfully solve the master equation for describing the single-mode cavity driven by an oscillating external field in the heat reservoir and then get the analytical time-evolution rule for the density operator in the infinitive Kraus operator-sum representation. It is worth noting that the Kraus operator M l, m is proved to be a trace-preserving quantum operation. As an application, the time-evolution for an initial coherent state ρ |β〉 = |β〉〈β| in such an environment is investigated, which shows that the initial coherent state decays to a new mixed state as a result of thermal noise, however the coherence can still be reserved for amplitude damping. 相似文献

We study the dynamics of entanglement in a two-qubit system interacting with a squeezed thermal bath via a dissipative system-reservoir interaction with the system and reservoir assumed to be in a separable initial state. The resulting entanglement is studied by making use of concurrence as well as a recently introduced measure of mixed state entanglement via a probability density function which gives a statistical and geometrical characterization of entanglement by exploring the entanglement content in the various subspaces spanning the two-qubit Hilbert space. We derive the equations governing the protocols minimizing the heat released by a continuous-time Markov jump process on a one-dimensional countable state space during a transition between assigned initial and final probability distributions in a finite time horizon. In particular, we identify the hypotheses on the transition rates under which the optimal control strategy and the probability distribution of the Markov jump problem obey a system of differential equations of Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman-type. As the state-space mesh tends to zero, these equations converge to those satisfied by the diffusion process minimizing the heat released in the Langevin formulation of the same problem. We also show that in full analogy with the continuum case, heat minimization is equivalent to entropy production minimization. Thus, our results may be interpreted as a refined version of the second law of thermodynamics. 相似文献

In investigations of the emergence of classicality from quantum theory, a useful step is the construction of quantum operators corresponding to the classical notion that the system resides in a region of phase space. The simplest such constructions are approximate projection operators. Here, we show how to construct exact projection operators which are localized on regions of phase. We elucidate the properties of such operators and explore their time evolution. For the harmonic oscillator we find sets of phase space localized histories which are exactly decoherent for any initial state and have probability 1 for classical evolution. 相似文献

We use linear entropy of an exact quantum state to study the entanglement between internal electronic states and external motional states for a two-level atom held in an amplitude-modulated and tilted optical lattice.Starting from an unentangled initial state associated with the regular 'island' of classical phase space,it is demonstrated that the quantum resonance leads to entanglement generation,the chaotic parameter region results in the increase of the generation speed,and the symmetries of the initial probability distribution determine the final degree of entanglement.The entangled initial states are associated with the classical 'chaotic sea',which do not affect the final entanglement degree for the same initial symmetry.The results may be useful in engineering quantum dynamics for quantum information processing. 相似文献
