A lower triangular matrix with nonzero principal diagonal entries is called a triangle. In this paper we obtain the sufficient conditions for ∑a_nλ_n to be summable ∣A∣_k whenever ∑a_n is summable ∣T∣_k for a triangle T.

In this paper we have proved a theorem for infinite triangular matrix using new techniques.     

On absolute summability factors of infinite series

In this paper using δ-quasi-monotone sequences a theorem on summability factors of infinite series, which generalizes a theorem of Bor [4] on summability factors of infinite series, is proved. Also, in the special case this theorem includes a result of Mazhar [8] on |C, 1|_k summability factors.     

Extension on absolute summability factors of infinite series

Extension and improvement has been made on a recent result proved by Mazhar [S.M. Mazhar, Absolute summability factors of infinite series, Kyungpook Math. J. 39 (1999) 67-73] concerning absolute summability factors of infinite series.

On application of matrix summability to Fourier series

Bor has recently obtained a main theorem dealing with absolute weighted mean summability of Fourier series. In this paper, we generalized that theorem for summability method. Also, some new and known results are obtained dealing with some basic summability methods.     

Multipliers for the absolute euler summability of fourier series

In this paper, the author has investigated necessary and sufficient conditions for the absolute Euler summability of the Fourier series with miltipliers. These conditions are weaker than those obtained earlier by some workers. It is further shown that the multipliers are best possible in certain sense.     

Matrix summability and uniform convergence of series

Some classical results about uniform convergence of unconditionally convergent series are generalized to weakly unconditionally Cauchy series by means of the matrix summability method for regular matrices.

Map Preserving Local Properties of a Digital Image

In order to study digital topological properties of a k-surface in Z ⁿ , we generalize the topological number in Bertrand (Pattern Recogn. Lett. 15:1003–1011, 1994). Furthermore, we show that a local (k ₀,k ₁)-isomorphism preserves some digital-topological properties, such as a generalized topological number and a simple k ₀-point, and prove that a local (k ₀,k ₁)-isomorphism takes a simple k ₀-surface in into a simple k ₁-surface in .      

On the rate of pointwise strong summability of orthogonal expansions

There is introduced a modificated local modulus of continuity as a measure of pointwise strong summability of expansion with respect to polynomial-like orthonormal system. The approximation versions and generalizations of the some special cases of the known results of K. Tandori [6], [7] and G. Freud [4] are obtained.     

Strong Cesàro summability of double Fourier integrals

We prove the following theorem. Assume f ∈ L ^∞(R ²) with bounded support. If f is continuous at some point (x ₁,x ₂) ∈ R ², then the double Fourier integral of f is strongly q-Cesàro summable at (x ₁,x ₂) to the function value f(x ₁,x ₂) for every 0 < q < ∞. Furthermore, if f is continuous on some open subset of R ², then the strong q-Cesàro summability of the double Fourier integral of f is locally uniform on . Compound Poisson Approximation for Multiple Runs in a Markov Chain

We consider a sequence X ₁, ..., X _n of r.v.'s generated by a stationary Markov chain with state space A = {0, 1, ..., r}, r 1. We study the overlapping appearances of runs of k _i consecutive i's, for all i = 1, ..., r, in the sequence X ₁,..., X _n. We prove that the number of overlapping appearances of the above multiple runs can be approximated by a Compound Poisson r.v. with compounding distribution a mixture of geometric distributions. As an application of the previous result, we introduce a specific Multiple-failure mode reliability system with Markov dependent components, and provide lower and upper bounds for the reliability of the system.
