We give lower bounds for the volume, the surface area, and the other quermass-integrals of centro-symmetric convex universal covers in n-dimensional Euclidean spaces. The estimates are sharp in the case n = 2. The given bounds are also bounds for the quermassintegrals of convex translation covers.  相似文献

A variant of Robinson-Ursescu Theorem is given in normed spaces. Several error bound theorems for convex inclusions are proved and in particular a positive answer to Li and Singer's conjecture is given under weaker assumption than the assumption required in their conjecture. Perturbation error bounds are also studied. As applications, we study error bounds for convex inequality systems.  相似文献

This paper presents some generalizations of S. N. Bernstein's exponential bounds on probabilities of large deviations to the vector case. Inequalities for probabilities of large deviations of sums of independent random vectors are derived under a Cramér's type restriction on the rate of growth of absolute moments of the summands. Estimates are obtained for random vectors with values in Banach space, Sharper bounds hold in the case of finite-dimensional Euclidean or separable Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

The concept of t-designs in compact symmetric spaces of rank 1 is a generalization of the theory of classical t-designs. In this paper we obtain new lower bounds on the cardinality of designs in projective compact symmetric spaces of rank 1. With one exception our bounds are the first improvements of the classical bounds by more than one. We use the linear programming technique and follow the approach we have proposed for spherical codes and designs. Some examples are shown and compared with the classical bounds.  相似文献

Upper and lower bounds for the Seshadri constants of canonical bundles of compact hyperbolic spaces are given in terms of metric invariants. The convergence of new second-order iterative methods are analyzed in Banach spaces by introducing a system of recurrence relations. A system of a priori error bounds for that method is also provided. The methods are defined by using a constant bilinear operator A , instead of the second Fréchet derivative appearing in the defining formula of the Chebyshev method. In Alexandrov spaces of curvature bounded either above (CBA) or below (CBB), we obtain extrinsic curvature bounds on subspaces associated with semiconcave functions. These subspaces play the role in singular geometry of submanifolds in Riemannian geometry, and arise naturally in many different places. For CBA spaces, we obtain new intrinsic curvature bounds on subspaces. For CBB spaces whose boundary is extrinsically curved, we strengthen Perelman’s concavity theorem for distance from the boundary, deriving corollaries on sharp diameter bounds, contractibility, and rigidity.  相似文献

In previous papers we have developed proof-theoretic techniques for extracting effective uniform bounds from large classes of ineffective existence proofs in functional analysis. Here `uniform' means independence from parameters in compact spaces. A recent case study in fixed point theory systematically yielded uniformity even w.r.t. parameters in metrically bounded (but noncompact) subsets which had been known before only in special cases. In the present paper we prove general logical metatheorems which cover these applications to fixed point theory as special cases but are not restricted to this area at all. Our theorems guarantee under general logical conditions such strong uniform versions of non-uniform existence statements. Moreover, they provide algorithms for actually extracting effective uniform bounds and transforming the original proof into one for the stronger uniformity result. Our metatheorems deal with general classes of spaces like metric spaces, hyperbolic spaces, CAT(0)-spaces, normed linear spaces, uniformly convex spaces, as well as inner product spaces.

We show that for integral operators of general form the norm bounds in Lorentz spaces imply certain norm bounds for the maximal function. As a consequence, the a.e. convergence for the integral operators on Lorentz spaces follows from the appropriate norm estimates.

We prove explicit lower bounds for the capacity of annular domains of minimal submanifolds P m in ambient Riemannian spaces N n with sectional curvatures bounded from above. We characterize the situations in which the lower bounds for the capacity are actually attained. Furthermore we apply these bounds to prove that Brownian motion defined on a complete minimal submanifold is transient when the ambient space is a negatively curved Hadamard-Cartan manifold. The proof stems directly from the capacity bounds and also covers the case of minimal submanifolds of dimension m > 2 in Euclidean spaces.  相似文献

Grochenig and Balan, Casazza, Heil, and Landau introduced the concepts of localization. The concepts were used to Gabor frames, wavelet frames and sampling theorem in recent years. Here they are applied to the frame of exponential windows with the conclusion that the frame of exponential windows is a Banach frame for a kind of Banach spaces, and the conclusion is also obtained about the relationship between frame bounds, frame density, measure and density of indexing set.  相似文献

In this paper, some new generalized L-KKM type theorems with finitely open values and with finitely closed values are established without any convexity structure in topological spaces. As applications, some new matching theorem, fixed point theorem and existence the orem of equilibrium problem with lower and upper bounds are also given under some suitable conditions.
