An arbitrarily curved three-dimensional anisotropic thin interphase between two anisotropic solids is considered. The purpose of this study is to model this interphase as a surface between its two neighbouring media by means of appropriately devised interface conditions on it. The analysis is carried out in the setting of unsteady heat conduction and dynamic elasticity, and makes use of the simple idea of a Taylor expansion of the relevant fields in thin regions. It consists of a generalization of a previous study by Bövik [1994. On the modelling of thin interface layers in elastic and acoustic scattering problems. Q. J. Mech. Appl. Math. 47, 17-42] which was confined to the isotropic setting. The remarkable feature of the presently derived anisotropic interface model is that formally it has a more compact form than that of Bövik's isotropic version. This is achieved by a judicious choice of surface differential operators which have been used in the derivation, and makes possible to show that several previously known classical interface models are recovered as special cases of the one obtained in this study, once suitable assumptions are made on the magnitude of the conductivity and elasticity tensors of the interphase.

A fiber-reinforced periodic piezoelectric composite, where the constituents exhibit transverse isotropic properties, is considered. The fiber cross-section is circular and the periodicity is the same in two orthogonal directions. Imperfect mechanic contact conditions at the interphase between the matrix and fibers are represented in parametric form. In order to analyze the influence of the imperfect interface effect over the behavior of the composite, the effective axial piezoelectric moduli are obtained by means of the Asymptotic Homogenization Method. Some numerical examples are given.  相似文献

Based on the standard spaces of the physical presentation, both the quasi-static mechanical approximation and the quasi-static electromagnetic approximation of piezoelectric solids are studied here. The complete set of uncoupled elastic wave and electromagnetic wave equations are deduced. The results show that the number and propagation speed of elastic waves and electromagnetic waves in anisotropic piezoelectric solids are determined by both the subspaces of electromagnetically anisotropic media and ones of mechanically anisotropic media. Based on these laws, we discuss the propagation behaviour of elastic waves and electromagnetic waves in the piezoelectric material of class 6 mm.  相似文献

A technique for stability analysis of anisotropic cylindrical shells is developed. It permits us to examine the cases of reinforcement where the elastic axes of layers do not coincide with the coordinate axes of the shell. The solution is obtained using the mixed equations of the Donnell-Mushtari-Vlasov theory of shells. The deflection and force functions are approximated by trigonometric series. Single-layer and multilayer cylindrical shells with fiber orientation of two types are analyzed for stability. It is revealed that when layers are few, failure to incorporate the direction of fibers in layers into the design model results in highly inaccurate values of critical loads __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 42, No. 3, pp. 80–88, March 2006.  相似文献

An analytical framework based on the homogenization method has been developed to predict the effective electromechanical properties of periodic, particulate and porous, piezoelectric composites with anisotropic constituents. Expressions are provided for the effective moduli tensors of n-phase composites based on the respective strain and electric field concentration tensors. By taking into account the shape and distribution of the inclusion and by invoking a simple numerical procedure, solutions for the electromechanical properties of a general anisotropic inclusion in an anisotropic matrix are obtained. While analytical forms are provided for predicting the electroelastic moduli of composites with spherical and cylindrical inclusions, numerical evaluation of integrals over the composite microstructure is required in order to obtain the corresponding expressions for a general ellipsoidal particle in a piezoelectric matrix. The electroelastic moduli of piezoelectric composites predicted by the analytical model developed in the present study demonstrate excellent agreement with results obtained from three-dimensional finite-element models for several piezoelectric systems that exhibit varying degrees of elastic anisotropy.  相似文献

We obtain a limit model for a thin curved anisotropic interphase adherent to two elastic media. Our method is based on asymptotic expansions and energy minimization procedures. The model of perfect interface is obtained at the first order, while an imperfect interface model is obtained at the next order. The conditions of imperfect contact, given in a parallel orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system, involve the interphase material properties, the first order displacement and traction vectors, and their derivatives. An example of implementation of the imperfect interface condition is given for a composite sphere assemblage.  相似文献

An elastic analysis of an internal central crack with bridging fibers parallel to the free surface in an infinite orthotropic anisotropic elastic plane was performed. A dynamic model of bridging fiber pull-out of composite materials was presented. Resultingly the fiber failure is governed by maximum tensile stress, the fiber breaks and hence the crack extension should occur in self-similar fashion. By the methods of complex functions, the problem studied can be transformed into the dynamic model to the Reimann-Hilbert mixed boundary value problem, and a straightforward and easy analytical solution is presented. Analytical study on the crack propagation subjected to a ladder load and an instantaneous pulse loading is obtained respectively for orthotropic anisotropic body. By utilizing the solution, the concrete solutions of this model are attained by ways of superposition.  相似文献

In this paper,we consider the dynamic response of a pre-stressed sandwich plate-strip with a piezoelectric core and elastic layers under the action of a time-harmonic force resting on a rigid foundation. The investigation is carried out within the framework of the piecewise homogeneous body model by utilizing the exact equations of motion and relations of the linear theory of electro-elasticity.It is assumed that there is a shear-spring-type imperfect contact between the layers, but a complete contact between the plate-strip and the rigid foundation.A mathematical model of the problem is constructed, and the governing equations of motion are solved by employing the finite element method(FEM).Numerical results illustrating the influence of a change in the value of the shear-spring parameter on the dynamic response of the plate-strip are then presented.  相似文献

Surface-bonded piezoelectric actuators can be used to generate elastic waves for monitoring damages of composite materials. This paper provides an analytical and numerical study to simulate wave propagation in an anisotropic medium induced by surface-bonded piezocermic actuators under high-frequency electric loads. Based on a one-dimensional actuator model, the dynamic load transfer between a piezoceramic actuator and an anisotropic elastic medium under in-plane mechanical and electrical loading is obtained. The wave propagation induced by the surface-bonded actuator is also studied in detail by using Fourier transform technique and solving the resulting integral equations in terms of the interfacial shear stress. Typical examples are provided to show effects of the geometry, the material combination, the loading frequency and the material anisotropy of the composite upon the load transfer and the resulting wave propagation.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to study a problem of reflection and refraction of quasi-longitudinal waves under initial stresses at an interface of two anisotropic piezoelectric media with different properties. One of the two media is aluminum nitride, which is considered the down piezoelectric medium and the above medium is chosen as PZT-5H ceramics. The two piezoelectric media welded are assumed to be anisotropic of a type of a transversely isotropic crystals (hexagonal crystal structure, class 6 mm). The equations of motion and constitutive relations for the piezoelectric media have been written. Suitable boundary conditions are used to obtain the reflection and refraction coefficients. For an incidence of quasi-longitudinal plane waves, four independent-type amplitude ratios of elastic displacement components for plane waves, called quasi-longitudinal (qP) and quasi-shear vertical (qSV) waves, are shown to exist. Also, it is observed that there exist four dependent amplitude ratios of electric potential, which are proportional to the previous four types. Finally, it is found that the coefficients of reflection and refraction are functions of angle of incidence, elastic constants, piezoelectric potential parameters and the initial stresses. Numerical computations and the results obtained are depicted graphically. In the end, a particular case has been reduced from the present study. This investigation is considered important because the initial stresses in such practical problems are inevitable and may result in frequency shift, a change in the velocity of surface waves and controlling the selectivity of a filter compensation of the devices.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of a crack embedded in a half-plane piezoelectric solid with traction-induction free boundary is analyzed. A system of singular integral equations is formulated for the materials with general anisotropic piezoelectric properties and for the crack with arbitrary orientation. The kernel functions developed are in complex form for general anisotropic piezoelectric materials and are then specialized to the case of transversely isotropic piezoelectric materials which are in real form. The obtained coupled mechanical and electric real kernel functions may be reduced to those kernel functions for purely elastic problems when the electric effects disappear. The system of singular integral equations is solved numerically and the coupling effects of the mechanical and electric phenomena are presented by the generalized stress intensity factors for transversely isotropic piezoelectric materials.  相似文献

Dynamic analysis of a two-layered elasto-piezoelectric composite hollow sphere under spherically symmetric deformation is developed. An unknown function of time is first introduced in terms of the charge equation of electrostatics and then the governing equations of piezoelectric layer, in which the unknown function of time is involved, are derived. By the method of superposition, the dynamic solution for elastic and piezoelectric layers is divided into quasi-static and dynamic parts. The quasi-static part is treated independently by the state space method and the dynamic part is obtained by the separation of variables method. By virtue of the obtained quasi-static and dynamic parts, a Volterra integral equation of the second kind with respect to the unknown function of time is derived by using the electric boundary conditions for piezoelectric layer. Interpolation method is employed to solve the integral equation efficiently. The transient responses for elastic and electric fields are finally determined. Numerical results are presented and discussed.  相似文献

The problem of dynamic interaction of wave phase fronts with anisotropic elastic media interfaces is considered. A technique based on joint use of the ray theory, locally plane approach and theory of stereomechanical impact is elaborated. It is employed for the investigation of discontinuous waves propagation in anisotropic tectonic structures. The cases of interaction of quasi-longitudinal and quasi-shear discontinuous waves with the interfaces separating different anisotropic elastic media are treated. The issues are considered which are associated with the wave front surfaces bifurcations, generation of their singularities and caustics, as well as with stress concentration and formation of zones where the stresses tend to infinity.  相似文献

Based on the shear spring model, the propagation of Love wave in two-layered piezoelectric/elastic composite plates under the influence of interfacial defect is investigated. The piezoelectric layer is electrically shorted at both top and bottom surfaces. The wave form solutions of the piezoelectric and elastic layers are obtained, and the dispersion equation is derived by subjecting the boundary conditions and the continuity conditions to the obtained wave form solutions. Numerical results are performed for PZT4/aluminum composite plate. The phase velocities and the mode shapes of mechanical displacement and electric potential are illustrated graphically. The results show that both the interfacial defect and the thickness ratio between the piezoelectric and elastic layers have significant effect on the propagation characteristics of Love wave. One important feature is observed that the interfacial defect always decreases the phase velocities.  相似文献

Based on finite Hankle transforms, this paper presents a theoretical method for analyzing the dynamic focusing effect of piezoelectric fibers subjected to the thermal shock of a transitory temperature change produced by a sudden electric current pulse. From analytical expressions and example calculations for two kinds of piezoelectric fibers, PZT-4 and BaTiO3, it is found that the dynamic focusing effect is dependent on the material property of the piezoelectric fibers so that the maximum dynamic stress amplitude of the two kinds of piezoelectric fiber occur at different radial points. The mechanism of the dynamic focusing effect in piezoelectric fibers is relevant to the evaluation of the dynamic strength and electric signal of the piezoelectric fiber. The results carried out may be used as a reference to solve other transient coupled electrothermoelasticity problems in piezoelectric structures.  相似文献

Steady-state anisotropic thermoelasticity equations are used to obtain the stress intensity factors for a cracked layer sandwiched between two different anisotropic elastic solids. The anisotropy is assumed to arise from discrete fibers whose orientation could alter with reference to the crack edges. A generalized plane deformation prevails in the dissimilar media domain with a line of discontinuity disturbing a uniform heat flow. The flexibility/stiffness matrix approach is used such that the crack problem reduces to solving two sets of singular integral equations. Numerical values of the crack tip stress-intensity factors are obtained for various crack size, crack location, crack surface insulation, fiber volume fraction and orientation angles. The results are displayed graphically.  相似文献

In some piezoelectric semiconductors and ceramic materials, dislocations can be electrically active and could be even highly charged. However, the impact of dislocation charges on the strain and electric fields in piezoelectric and layered structures has not been presently understood. Thus, in this paper, we develop, for the first time, a charged three-dimensional dislocation loop model in an anisotropic piezoelectric bimaterial space to study the physical and mechanical characteristics which are essential to the design of novel layered structures. We first develop the analytical model based on which a line-integral solution can be derived for the coupled elastic and electric fields induced by an arbitrarily shaped and charged three-dimensional dislocation loop. As numerical examples, we apply our solutions to the typical piezoelectric AlGaN/GaN bimaterial to analyze the fields induced by charged square and elliptic dislocation loops. Our numerical results show that, except for the induced elastic (mechanical) displacement, charges along the dislocation loop could substantially perturb other induced fields. In other words, charges on the dislocation loop could significantly affect the traditional dislocation-induced stress/strain, electric displacement, and polarization fields in piezoelectric bimaterials.  相似文献
