The problem of the virtual mass of a sphere, moving in an ideal incompressible fluid when there are other identical spherical particles of arbitrary mass present is considered. A solution is constructed for the velocity potential of the fluid in the form of the superposition of perturbation fields, introduced into the flow by each of the particles. The perturbation fields are obtained in the form of functional series, the coefficients of which are mutually consistent by a defined system of equations. An explicit expression is obtained for the hydrodynamic force acting on the sphere in the form of a function of the coordinates of all the particles. A simple analytical dependence of the mean value of the force and the virtual mass of the sphere on the particle-to-fluid density ratio in a first approximation of the volume fraction of the dispersed phase is obtained for a statistically uniform distribution of the dispersed particles in the suspension, using the procedure of averaging over their different possible configurations in space.  相似文献

For linear singularly perturbed boundary value problems, we come up with a method that reduces solving a differential problem to a discrete (difference) problem. Difference equations, which are an exact analog of differential equations, are constructed by the factorization method. Coefficients of difference equations are calculated by solving Cauchy problems for first-order differential equations. In this case nonlinear Ricatti equations with a small parameter are solved by asymptotic methods, and solving linear equations reduces to computing quadratures. A solution for quasilinear singularly perturbed equations is obtained by means of an implicit relaxation method. A solution to a linearized problem is calculated by analogy with a linear problem at each iterative step. The method is tested against solutions to the known Lagerstrom-Cole problem.  相似文献

A Tikhonov finite-dimensional approximation is applied to a Fredholm integral equation of the first kind. This allows using a variational regularization method with a regularization parameter from the residual principle and reducing the problem to a system of linear algebraic equations. The accuracy of the approximate solution is estimated with allowance for the error of the finitedimensional approximation of the problem. The use of this approach is illustrated by solving an inverse boundary value problem for the heat conduction equation.  相似文献

A method for solving a boundary-value problem on an infinite interval is considered for a linear system of second-order ordinary differential equations with a small parameter at the highest derivatives and a point source. The question is addressed of reduction of this problem to a finite interval. A mesh, condensing in the boundary layer, is used for numerical solution of a system of singularly perturbed equations on a finite interval.  相似文献

In this paper an inverse method for solving elastostatic problems with incomplete boundary conditions is presented. In general, inverse problems are ill-posed boundary value problems whose stability and uniqueness of solution and sensitivity-based formulations require additional constraints. In the development we use the Betti-reciprocal theorem to represent the boundary traction field in terms of the boundary and field displacements in an integral form. Initially, we assume the unknown boundary conditions and deformations required to solve the problem. In this way we equate the work done by the exact solution (unknown) to the work done by an assumed solution. Discretizing the resulting equations and using an iterative procedure each step in the solution process becomes the solution to a well-posed problem. Thus, with sufficient perturbations the correct boundary conditions are reconstructed.  相似文献

In the Stokes approximation at small Reynolds and Peclet numbers, we obtain a solution to the boundary-value problem of flow around of particles of spherical shape for stationary system of equations of a viscous non-isothermal fluid comprising a linearized by speed Navier–Stokes equation system and the equation of heat transfer given an exponential-power law of dependence of viscosity of fluid on temperature.  相似文献

A nonlinear loaded differential equation with a parameter on a finite interval is studied. The interval is partitioned by the load points, at which the values of the solution to the equation are set as additional parameters. A nonlinear boundary value problem for the considered equation is reduced to a nonlinear multipoint boundary value problem for the system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations with parameters. For fixed parameters, we obtain the Cauchy problems for ordinary differential equations on the subintervals. Substituting the values of the solutions to these problems into the boundary condition and continuity conditions at the partition points, we compose a system of nonlinear algebraic equations in parameters. A method of solving the boundary value problem with a parameter is proposed. The method is based on finding the solution to the system of nonlinear algebraic equations composed.  相似文献

We consider a bisingular initial value problem for a system of ordinary differential equations with a single small parameter, the asymptotics of whose solution can be constructed in the form of power-logarithmic series on several boundary layers and an external layer. To use the method of matching asymptotic expansions, we prove theorems that permit one to make the passage between two adjacent layers and obtain a uniform estimate of the approximation to the solution by a composite asymptotic expansion.  相似文献

A Legendre pseudospectral method is proposed for solving approximately an inverse problem of determining an unknown control parameter p(t) which is the coefficient of the solution u(x, y, z, t) in a diffusion equation in a three‐dimensional region. The diffusion equation is to be solved subject to suitably prescribed initial‐boundary conditions. The presence of the unknown coefficient p(t) requires an extra condition. This extra condition considered as the integral overspecification over the spacial domain. For discretizing the problem, after homogenization of the boundary conditions, we apply the Legendre pseudospectral method in a matrix based manner. As a results a system of nonlinear differential algebraic equations is generated. Then by using suitable transformation, the problem will be converted to a homogeneous time varying system of linear ordinary differential equations. Also a pseudospectral method for efficient solving of the resulted system of ordinary differential equations is proposed. The solution of this system gives the approximation to values of u and p. The matrix based structure of the present method makes it easy to implement. We determine the boundary of a two-dimensional region using the solution of the external initial boundary-value problem for the nonhomogeneous heat equation. The initial values for the boundary determination include the right-hand side of the equation and the solution of the initial boundary-value problem given for finitely many points outside the region. The inverse problem is reduced to solving a system of two integral equations nonlinear in the function defining the sought boundary. An iterative procedure is proposed for numerical solution of the problem involving linearization of integral equations. The efficiency of the proposed procedure is investigated by a computer experiment.  相似文献

An exact solution of the free-convection equations is constructed in the Oberbeck–Boussinesq approximation, describing the flow of a viscous heat-conducting fluid in a vertical cylinder of large radius when heated by radiation. The initial problem is reduced to an operator equation with an extremely non-linear operator, satisfying Schauder's theorem in C[0,1]. An iteration procedure is proposed for determining the independent parameter, that occurs in the solution, which enables three different values to be obtained and, correspondingly, three classes of solution of the initial problem. The linear stability of all the solutions obtained is investigated and it is shown that, for chosen values of the problem parameters, the most dangerous one is the plane wave mode and two instability mechanisms are present. The flow structure and the type of instability depend considerably on the values of the free parameter.  相似文献

The problem of stable plane capillary-gravitational waves of finite amplitude on the surface of a perfect incompressible fluid stream of finite depth is considered. It is assumed that the waves are induced by pressure periodically distributed along the free surface, and that these, unlike induced waves, do not vanish when the pressure becomes constant, are transformed into free waves. Such waves are called composite; they exist similarly to free waves, for particular values of velocity of the stream.The problem, which is rigorously stated, reduces to solving a system of four nonlinear equations for two functions and two constants. One of the equations is integral and the remaining are transcendental. Pressure on the surface is defined by an infinite trigonometric series whose coefficients are proportional to integral powers of some dimensionless small parameter; these powers are by two units greater than the numbers of coefficients.The theorem of existence and uniqueness of solution is established, and the method of its proof is indicated. The derivation of solution in any approximation is presented in the form of series in powers of the indicated small parameter. Computation of the first three approximations is carried out to the end, and an approximate equation of the wave profile is presented.Composite capillary-gravitational waves in the case of fluid of infinite depth were considered by the author in [1].  相似文献

In this paper a meshless approximation of electromagnetic (EM) field functions and relative differential operators based on particle formulation is proposed. The idea is to obtain numerical solutions for EM problems by passing up the mesh generation usually required to compute derivatives, and by employing a set of particles arbitrarily placed in the problem domain. The meshless Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics method has been reformulated for solving the time domain Maxwell's curl equations. The consistency of the discretized model is investigated and improvements in the approximation are obtained by modifying the numerical process. Corrective algorithms preserving meshless consistency are presented and successfully used. Test problems, dealing with even and uneven particles distribution, are simulated to validate the proposed methodology, also by introducing a comparison with analytical solution.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for two nonlinear differential equations with a small parameter multiplying the derivative in one of the equations. The right-hand side of this equation has a zero of high order at the origin with respect to one of the unknown functions. We construct and justify a uniform asymptotic approximation to the solution with accuracy of any power of the small parameter. The Zakharov–Shabat inverse spectral problem is constructed for a potential with support on the half-line and with a boundary value at the origin. This prescribed value is shown to produce a Jost solution with an essential singularity at large values of the spectral parameter; this requires particular attention when solving the related Hilbert boundary value problem. The method is then used to illustrate the sine-Gordon equation (in the light cone) and is discussed using a singular limit of the stimulated Raman scattering equations.  相似文献

In this series of three papers we study singularly perturbed (SP) boundary value problems for equations of elliptic and parabolic type. For small values of the perturbation parameter parabolic boundary and interior layers appear in these problems. If classical discretisation methods are used, the solution of the finite difference scheme and the approximation of the diffusive flux do not converge uniformly with respect to this parameter. Using the method of special, adapted grids, we can construct difference schemes that allow approximation of the solution and the normalised diffusive flux uniformly with respect to the small parameter. We also consider singularly perturbed boundary value problems for convection-diffusion equations. Also for these problems we construct special finite difference schemes, the solution of which converges $ε$-uniformly. We study what problems appear, when classical schemes are used for the approximation of the spatial derivatives. We compare the results with those obtained by the adapted approach. Results of numerical experiments are discussed. In the three papers we first give an introduction on the general problem, and then we consider respectively (i) Problems for SP parabolic equations, for which the solution and the normalised diffusive fluxes are required; (ii) Problems for SP elliptic equations with boundary conditions of Dirichlet, Neumann and Robin type; (iii) Problems for SP parabolic equation with discontinuous boundary conditions.  相似文献
