Let A be a bounded linear operator and P a bounded linear projection on a Banach space X. We show that the operator semigroup \({(e^{t(A-kP)})_{t \ge 0}}\) converges to a semigroup on a subspace of X as \({k \to \infty}\) and we compute the limit semigroup.  相似文献

The aim of the paper is to present some results concerning pseudodifference operators on ?N, which are a discrete analog of standard pseudodifferential operators on ?N. We study the Fredholm property of pseudodifference operators acting in weighted l p spaces on ?N and the Phragmen-Lindelöf principle for solutions of pseudodifference equations and give applications of these results to discrete Schrö dinger operators on ?N.  相似文献

A meromorphic analogue to the corona problem is formulated and studied and its solutions are characterized as being left-invertible in a space of meromorphic functions. The Fredholmness of Toeplitz operators with symbol G∈(L(R))2×2 is shown to be equivalent to that of a Toeplitz operator with scalar symbol , provided that the Riemann-Hilbert problem admits a solution such that the meromorphic corona problems with data are solvable. The Fredholm properties are characterized in terms of and the corresponding meromorphic left-inverses. Partial index estimates for the symbols and Fredholmness criteria are established for several classes of Toeplitz operators.  相似文献

We consider Toeplitz operators with symbols that are almost periodic matrix functions of several variables. It is shown that under certain conditions on the group generated by the Fourier support of the symbol, a Toeplitz operator is Fredholm if and only if it is invertible.

This paper mainly concerns Beurling type quotient modules of H2(D2) over the bidisk. By establishing a theorem of function theory over the bidisk, it is shown that a Beurling type quotient module is essentially normal if and only if the corresponding inner function is a rational inner function having degree at most (1,1). Furthermore, we apply this result to the study of boundary representations of Toeplitz algebras over quotient modules. It is proved that the identity representation of C(Sz,Sw) is a boundary representation of B(Sz,Sw) in all nontrivial cases. This extends a result of Arveson to Toeplitz algebras on Beurling type quotient modules over the bidisk (cf. [W. Arveson, Subalgebras of C-algebras, Acta Math. 123 (1969) 141-224; W. Arveson, Subalgebras of C-algebras II, Acta Math. 128 (1972) 271-308]). The paper also establishes K-homology defined by Beurling type quotient modules over the bidisk.  相似文献

In this paper, we identify the vector valued Hardy space with the Hardy space over the bidisk and construct a universal model for thecontractive analytic functions. We will also study some elementary properties of the submodules and show, in some cases, how the operator theoretical properties are related to the module theoretical properties. This paper is a continuation of a project of developing a systematic operator theory inH 2(D 2). A large part of it is devoted to a study ofevaluation operator which is a very useful tool in the theory. A number of elementary properties of the evaluation operator are exhibited, and these properties are used to derive results in other topics such as interpretation of characteristic opertor function inH 2(D 2), spectral equivalence, compactness, compressions of shift operators, etc., Even though some results reflect the two variable nature ofH 2(D 2), the goal of this paper is to manifest a close tie between the operator theory inH 2(D 2) and classical single operator theory.
