The phase boundary of the binary liquid system CS2+CH3NO2 is studied over nearly six decades in reduced temperature 3×10−6<ε=(T CT)/T C<2×10−1 and over the composition range 8-98 mole % of CS2. The critical parameters areT C=335.132K andx C=57.34 mole % of CS2. A single critical exponentβ=0.315±0.004 fits the observations over the entire range with no indication ofβ increasing to the classical value of 1/2 far away fromT C. The diameter of the coexistence curve shows a rectilinear behaviour only far away fromT C. NearT C, the deviation ΔX from the rectilinear law seems to fit a curve of the form ΔX=fε7/8 exp (− h), the derivative of which has a singularity like that of specific heat. An ambiguity in the analysis of the data in terms of mole fractions and volume fractions is pointed out. It is also suggested that the curvature of the diameter may be much weaker in a liquid-gas system and hence might have escaped detection.  相似文献

It is shown that BR b1(1 P)→e + e )≃3.3· 10−7 and BR c1(1 P)→e + e )≃10−8. This gives realistic possibilities for searching for the production of χ b1(1 P) and ξ c1(1 P) states in e + e collisions, even on the present-day colliders, to say nothing of b and c-τ factories. X-ray and resistivity measurements on YBa2Cu3O7−δ (1-2-3) samples show that for the same but low oxygen concentration,δ⋍0·55, no superconducting transition down to 4·2 K is observed for the tetragonal phase samples while the orthorhombic phase shows aT c ∼ 31 K. The effect of oxygen concentration onT c is isolated.T c=91±1 K has, however, been observed continuously for the normal oxygen annealed samples,δ⋍0·07. The experimental results suggest strongly the necessity of the 1-2-3 compound to be in the orthorhombic phase for the superconducting mechanism to be operative.  相似文献

A scan of the superconductor-nonsuperconductor transformation in single crystals of YBa2Cu3O6+x (x≈0.37) is done in two alternative ways, namely, by applying a magnetic field and by reducing the hole concentration through oxygen rearrangement. The in-plane normal-state resistivity ρab obtained in the two cases is quite similar; its temperature dependence can be fitted by a logarithmic law in a temperature range of almost two decades. However, an alternative representation of the temperature dependence of σab=1/ ρ ab by a power law, typical for a 3D material near a metal-insulator transition, is also plausible. The vertical conductivity σc=1/ρc followed a power law, and neither σc(T), nor ρc(T) could be fitted by log T. It follows from the ρc measurements that the transformation at T=0 is split into two transitions: superconductor-normal-metal and normal-metal-insulator. The real part R s and the imaginary part X s of the surface impedance Z s=R s+ iX s of Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8−δ and YBa2Cu3O6.95 single crystals have been measured with high precision at frequency ω/2π=9.4 GHz in the temperature range 0<T<140 K. In the Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8−δ crystal a linear temperature dependence R s(T) has been found for T⩽50 K, and the magnetic field penetration depth λ(4.2 K)=X s(4.2 K)/ω μ 0≈3760 Å has been measured. Along with well known features of the function Z s(T) in high-quality YBa2Cu3O6.95 single crystals, such as the linearity of λ(T) and R s(T) for T<T c/3 and a maximum of R s(T) at TT c/2, the linearity range of λ(T) extends to T≃50 K, and this curve has a plateau in the range 60<T<85 K. The curve of R s(T) in both the superconducting and normal states of YBa2Cu3O6.95 is well described by a two-fluid model with the electron-phonon mechanism of quasiparticle relaxation. Results are presented of an investigation of the magnetic properties of dilute frustrated ferrimagnetic spinels Li0.5Fe2.5−x GaxO4 (x=0.8–1.2), which characterize the main parameters of the ferrimagnetic state and provide evidence of local violation of collinear spin ordering and frustrations. In particular, measurements were made of the concentration dependences of the magnetic moment n 0(x) and the Curie point T c (x), the magnetization isotherms σ T (H) at T=4.2 K and H⩽10 kOe, and also the low-and high-field magnetization polytherms σ H (T). It was established that for x⩾0.8 in fields exceeding the technical saturation field H s ∼2 kOe, the temperature dependences of the high-field magnetization σ H (T) between 4.2 and 230 K cannot be described by the Bloch T 3/2 law whereas this law is satisfied for undiluted Li spinel (x=0). Over the entire temperature range (4.2–230 K) the experimental curves σ H (T) may be approximated by σ H (T)=σ 0(1−AT 3/2BT 5/2) for x=0.8–1.0 and σ H (T)=σ 0[1−CT 3/2exp(μ(H−H 0)/k B T)] for x=1.1, 1.2, where μH 0∼15 K is the internal field produced by competition between exchange interactions and frustrations. A magnetic phase transition in carbon-doped (0.1 and 0.7 at. %) Fe70Ni30 Invar alloys was investigated by the method of depolarization of a transmitted neutron beam and by small-angle scattering of polarized neutrons. It is shown that for both alloys, two characteristic length scales of magnetic correlations coexist above T c. Small-angle scattering by critical correlations with radius R c is described well by the Ornstein-Zernike (OZ) expression. The longer-scale (second) correlations, whose size can be estimated from depolarization data, are not described by the OZ expression, and hypothetically can be modeled by a squared OZ expression, which in coordinate space corresponds to the relation 〈M(r)M(0)〉∝exp(−r/R d), where R d is the correlation length of the second scale. The temperature dependence of the correlation radius R c was obtained: R c ∝ ((TT c)/Tc)ν , where ν≈2/3 is the critical exponent for ferromagnets, over a wide temperature range up to T c exp , at which the correlation radius becomes constant and equals its maximum value R c(T c)=R c max . The maximum correlation radius established (R c max =140 Å and 230 Å for the first and second alloys, respectively) characterizes the length-scale of the fluctuation for which the appearance of critical correlations first results in the formation of a ferromagnetic phase, and the phenomenon itself exhibits a “disruption” of the second-order phase transition at T=T c exp , as a result of which a first-order transition arises. Temperature hysteresis was also detected in the measured polarization of the transmitted beam and intensity of small-angle neutron scattering in the alloy above T c, confirming the character of this magnetic transition as a first-order transition close to a second-order transition. The ionic and electronic conductivities of Ag2Tl6I10 single crystals have been studied as a function of crystallographic orientation and temperature from 20 to 135°C. EMF as well as AC and DC techniques have been employed. The highly anisotropic material is predominantly an Ag+-ion conductor parallel toc-direction, with the Ag+ ions moving through linear channels that are not interconnected. The conductivity σc =1.6×10−7Ω−1cm−1 at 25°C, with an activation enthalpy for σc of 0.38 eV. The conduction perpendicular toc-direction has been found to be predominantly electronic with a value of σc =3×10−9Ω−1cm−1 at 25°C and an activation enthalpy for σc of 0.64 eV. This is the first observation of one-dimensional Ag+ conduction and this type of orientation-dependent change from ionic to electronic conduction. The four-dimensional Ising model is simulated on the Creutz cellular automaton using finite-size lattices with linear dimension 4≤L≤8. The exponents in the finite-size scaling relations for the order parameter and the magnetic susceptibility at the finite-lattice critical temperature are computed to be β=0.49(7), β=0.49(5), β=0.50(1) and γ=1.04(4), γ=1.03(4), γ=1.02(4) for 7, 14, and 21 independent simulations, respectively. As the number of independent simulations increases, the obtained results are consistent with the renormalization group predictions of β=0.5 and γ=1. The values for the critical temperature of the infinite lattice T c (∞)=6.6788(65), T c (∞)=6.6798(69), T c (∞)=6.6802(70) are obtained from the straight-line fit of the magnetic susceptibility maxima using 4≤L≤8 for 7, 14, and 21 independent simulations, respectively. As the number of independent simulations increases, the obtained results are in very good agreement with the series expansion results of T c (∞)=6.6817(15), T c (∞)=6.6802(2), the dynamic Monte Carlo result of T c (∞)=6.6803(1), the cluster Monte Carlo result of T c (∞)=6.680(1) and the Monte Carlo using Metropolis and Wolff-cluster algorithm result of T c (∞)=6.6802632±5×10−5.  相似文献

N-m-tolyl phthalimide, C15NO2H11 crystallizes in the space group Cc with unit cell dimensions,a=8·54(1),b=19·89(2),c = 7·59(1)A, β=114·53(1)° andZ=4.V=1173(2)A3,D m =1·35(1),D c = 1·344 mg.m−3,M r =237 λCoKa=1·7903A. The structure was solved byMULTAN and refined to an R-factor of 0·116 for 632 counter reflections. The molecules are held together by van der Waal’s forces. The spin-spin relaxation rate 63 T 2 −1 of 63Cu nuclei in CuO2 layers is measured in the normal and superconducting states of the compound YBa2Cu3O6.9 (T c onset =94 K) subjected to radiation-induced disordering by a fast-neutron flux Φ to T c onset =68 K (Φ=7×1018 cm−2) and T c onset <4 K (Φ=12×1018 cm−2). It is found that as the structural disorder increases, the contribution of the indirect spin-spin interaction 63 T 2G −1 , which is related to the value of the spin susceptibility at the boundary of the Brillouin zone of the copper planes χs(q={π/a; π/a}), decreases slightly at the transition to the superconducting state for the initial sample and remains unchanged for the weakly disordered sample. This behavior of the short-wavelength contribution to the spin susceptibility attests to the stability of the x 2y 2 symmetry of the energy gap against structural disorder, in accordance with proposed theoretical models of Cooper pairing for high-T c cuprates. The total cross sections for positron impact on hydrocarbons have been calculated using the additivity rule in which the total cross section for a molecule is the sum of the total cross section for the constituent atoms. The energy range considered is from a few eV to several thousand eV. The total cross sections for positron impact on an atom are calculated by employing a complex spherical potential which comprises of a static, polarization and an absorption potential. We have good agreement with the experimental results for hydrocarbons for positron energy ⩾100 eV. Our results also agree with the available calculations for CH4 and C2H2 which employed full molecular wavefunctions beyond 100 eV. Our absorption cross sections also agree with molecular wave-function calculations for C2H2 and CH4 beyond 100 eV. We have shown the Bethe plots fore +−C ande +−H scattering systems and Bethe parameters have been extracted. We have fitted the cross section for positron impact on hydrocarbons in the formσ t(C n H m )=naE b+mcE d in the energy range 300–5000 eV wherea=195.0543,b=0.7986,c=371.1757 andd=1.1379 withE in eV andσ t in 10−16 cm2.  相似文献

Effect of incorporation of Sb in place of Bi in the bismuth cuprate superconductors has been examined. The nominal compositions studied are MCa1·5Sr1·5Cu2O8+δ and MCa2Sr2Cu3O10+δ, whereM=Bi2−x Sb x or Bi1·5−x Sb x Pb0·5. Different preparative routes such as the ceramic method, the matrix route as well as the melt route were employed to prepare the materials. No indication of either Sb entering the lattice or enhancement ofT c is noted from resistivity, magnetic susceptibility and microwave absorption measurements. The temperature dependence of the hyperfine field of substitutional111Cd in antiferromagnetic CoO has been measured by means of the perturbed angular correlation technique. The Larmor frequency ωL is found to obey a power law ωL(t0 t β) up tot max=0.4 wheret=1−T/T N is the reduced temperature withT N=291.2(3) K and β=0.393 (5) the critical exponent. The results are discussed and compared with PAC experiments on111Cd in NiO and Ni and with results obtained by other methods.  相似文献

An analysis is made of the relation between accurate formulas for the coefficients of turbulent diffusion D T and the alpha effect α T for a magnetic field in the Lagrange and Euler representations. It is shown that the quadratic term with respect to α T in the diffusion coefficient derived by Moffatt and Kraichnan is incorrect and should be dropped. First, a numerical solution of the nonlinear equation (DIA equation) for the Green function is presented, describing the transport of a magnetic field for the case of incompressible, uniform, isotropic, steady-state turbulence possessing helicity. These solutions are used to calculate the steady-state coefficients D T and α T for various values of the parameters ξ 0=u 0 σ 0/R 0, a=H 0/u 0 2 p 0, σ 0/σ 1, and R 0/R 1, where u 0, σ 0, and R 0 are the characteristic velocity, lifetime, and scale of the turbulent pulsations, and H 0, σ 1, and R 1 are similar values describing the helicity of the medium h(1,2)=〈u(1)· (∇×u(2))〉, and the parameter α characterizes the degree of helicity. The DIA values of D T and α T and the self-consistent values of these quantities calculated using the Green tensor in the diffusion approximation are in qualitative agreement. It is shown that the coefficient of turbulent diffusion is always positive for all the types of turbulence studied. Two sharp line-like bands calledN andR lines on the red side, a close doublet (B lines) on the violet side and two broad bands are observed for natural ruby. At liquid air temperature the splitting ofR line was found and also three sharp-bands calledR, R′ andB lines are identified with spin-forbidden transitions of2 E,2 T 1 and2 T 2. The two broad bands calledU band andY band are assigned accordingly to the spin-allowed transitions4 T 2 and4 T 1 respectively. The observed bands of natural ruby have been attributed to Cr3+ ion in an octahedral environment with trigonal distortion. The crystal field parameters which gave a good fit to the observed band positions areB=732 cm−1,C=4.25B,Dq=1830 cm−1,V=−1996 cm−1 andλ=34 cm−1.  相似文献

On the basis of current theoretical views on the critical phenomena in isotropic Heisenberg ferromagnets the power temperature behavior Λ=c(τ)λ0τ-w has been derived for the muon spin relaxation rate Λ as π-T c −1 (T-T c ) → 0+. It is shown that the crossover from an exchange critical regime to a dipolar one is accompanied not only with the change in the critical exponentw in the above law, but also with the reduction of the coefficientc(π). A comparison with the temperature behaviour of the inverse nuclear relaxation timet R −1 measured in the PAC experiment is carried out.  相似文献

An experimental study is reported of the effect of an electric field E⩽120 MV/m and of temperature T on the critical current I c and I-V characteristics of yttrium-based high-T c superconducting ceramics. The materials studied were copper-deficient ceramics, YBa2Cu3−x Oy (D samples), and YBa2Cu3−x Oy/Agx ceramics [S samples with silver present in amounts equal to the copper deficiency (0⩽x⩽0.4)]. It has been established that in D samples at 77 K, the electric field increases I c and reduces substantially R for I>I c, whereas in S samples no field effect is observed. Measurements of the I c(T) dependence near the critical temperature showed that they can be described for all samples by a relation of the type I c =const(1−T/T c )α, where α≈1 for the D samples, and α≈2 for the S samples. The results obtained suggest that the electric-field effect correlates with the existence in the ceramic of SIS-type weak links at grain boundaries. Fiz. Tverd.
