Sur la synthèse d'acides thiazolotriazolylacétiques

During the synthesis of thiazolotriazolylacetic acids, the condensation of ethyl 4-chloro-3-oxobutyrate with triazolinethiones was studied. The use of an alkaline reagent (triethylamine) leads only to S-alkylation and not to the expected cyclized product. The cyclization of the intermediate β-ketoester is observed only by use of acidic reagents (phosphorous oxychloride, hydrogen chloride).     

Sur la synthèse de chloro-3 indolinones a partir de β-nitrostyrènes diversement substitués

When treated with acetyl chloride and ferric chloride in methylene chloride, at 0°, monosubstituted β-nitrostyrene derivatives such as 2,3 or 4-methyl, -chloro or -fluoro and 3-nitro-β-nitrostyrenes cyclize into the new corresponding 3-chloro-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one. Reaction with other metal chlorides such as aluminum chloride and titanium tetrachloride does not lead to these heterocyclic derivatives but only produces N-acetyl-N-hydroxy-α-chlorobenzeneacetamides and/or N-(acetyloxy)-α-chlorobenzeneethanimidoyl chlorides.

Some furochromenes substituted at the 2-position by an electron-attracting group were obtained starting from ortho-hydroxyformyl derivatives of 2,2-dimethyl-2H-chromene following various processes which are indicated. These new furochromenes are pharmacochemical analogues of some natural pyranocoumarins, and as such they are potential photosensitizers.     

Sur la synthèse du pollinastanol à partir du cycloartanol

The partial synthesis of pollinastanol (14) from cycloartanol (3) is reported. The transformation proceeds through the methylenic intermediate 12; the ring enlargement with cyanogen azide affords pollinastanone (13) further reduced to 14, The 4-keto isomer of pollinastanone (17) as well as a series of 5-β isomeric compounds are also described.

2-Alkylamino-3-cyano-2H-chromenehsa ve been obtained by the reaction of β-cyanoenamines with some salicylic aldehydes in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid.

A new synthesis of 6, 12-dihydro-indeno [1,2-b] fluorene (trans-fluorenacene) in 9 steps starting from fluorene (overall yield 24,5%) is recorded. By partial oxidation of the hydrocarbon its 6-oxo derivative is also obtained.

Reaction between phenylvinylketone and salicylaldehyde under basic conditions gave a mixture of 3-benzoyl-4-chromanol and 3-benzoyl-2H-chromene. Their structures were determined on the basis of analytical and spectroscopic data.

Study of infrared and Raman spectra of benzothiazolines and 2H-chromenes, constitutive parts of benzothiazolinic spiropyrans. Synthetic aspect. We have synthesized some benzothiazolines and some substituted 2 H-chromenes as models of the two halves of benzothiazolinic spiropyrans with the aim of interpretation of infrared and Raman spectra of spiropyranic structure. While doing that, we have been able to improve the synthesis method of chromenes obtained from coumarins and we have prepared new nitro-chromenes. By studying IR. and Raman spectra of the two halves of spiropyranic molecule, we could propose a rather good attribution of fondamental modes of vibration. This attribution will used as base for the interpretation of IR. and Raman spectra of a series a benzothiazolinic spiropyrans.

Triphenyl and tributyltin hydrides have been found to add to the terminal double bond of unsaturated ethyl malonates to give organotin substituted ethyl malonates. Attempted cyclisation of the latter into barbituric compounds failed.

It has been established that the direct condensation between aromatic and aliphatic thioesters and the variously generated anion of amino-chloropyridines represents the best method for the synthesis of thiazolo-pyridines.
