Abstract

The analytical potential of thorium phosphate as an ion exchanger has been explored by thin layer chromatographic (TLC) technique. Binder-free thin layers of thorium phos -phate have been explored for several important binary and ternary separations. Abstract

The utility of hydrous zirconium oxide for the separation of metal ions has been explored. The Kd-values from different concentrations of chloride ions(pH-2) have been determined. On the basis of the sorption data Pd (II) and Tl (III) have been quantitatively separated from a number of metal ions. Abstract

The analytical applications of hydrated stannic oxide as an ion-exchanger have been investigated by thin-layer chromatographic (TLC) technique. Binder-free thin-layers of hydrated stannic oxide are useful for some binary separations. Quantitative separation of Cr(VI) and Mo(VI) from some binary mixtures have been achieved. The method is applied to separate microgram-quantities of Cr(VI) quantitatively from several ores and alloys in ammonia buffer (pH 10) system.  相似文献

Abstract

Zirconium (IV) phosphoantimonate impregnated papers have been used to study the electrochromatographic behaviour of 29 metal ions in buffers of weak organic acids with their corresponding ammonium salts as background electrolytes at fixed voltage and time intervals. As a result of these investigations, the variation in the average mobility of metal ions with the ionisation constants of the organic acids used in buffers and other parameters such as atomic numbers and charge on the metal ions has been studied. On the basis of the differential mobilites of the metal ions, which depends on the ion exchange properties of Zr(IV) phosphoantimonate and the nature of the complexes formed with the electrolytes, some binary, ternary and quarternary separation have been achieved. Besides microgram separations (25 μg-100 μg) of Pt(TV) from Pt group and other metal ions have also been achieved.  相似文献

Abstract

p-Diethylaminoanil of phenylglyoxal a bidentate ligand was used for complexation with Hg(II), UO2(II), Au(III), Pt(IV) Mg(II), Bi(III), Sb(III) and Be(II) ions. The chelates were characterized by their analysis, molar conductance and infrared spectra. T.L.C. detection, separation and determination of these complexes on starch bound silica gel layers was studied Long persisting dark coloure of the complexes rendered the spots self descernible and no locating agent was required. A maximum four complexes could be resolved and identified. Errors in determinations and maximum separation limits were also deduced.  相似文献

Abstract

Suitable methods have been worked out for the separation and determination of various groups of similar metal ions in mixtures, employing a combination of thin-layer chromatography and ring colorimetry. Solvent mixtures employed were: n-butanol + 12N HCl + dioxan (5:1:4); n-butanol + 6N HCl + dioxan (5:1:4); hexanol + dioxan + acetic acid + water (160:10:2:40); methanol + water (9:1 and 7:3). The following mixtures of cations were separated by TLC and the separated constituents were subsequently determined by ring colorimetry: Fe(III)- Co(II)- Cu(II)- Pb(II)- Ni(II); Pt(IV)- Co(II)- Cu(II)- Pd(II)- Ni(II); Ag(I)- Ni(II)- Co(II)- Fe(III); Cu(II)- Ni(II)- Bi(III); Cu(II)- Bi(III)- Hg(II).  相似文献

The amphoteric acid-base behavior of hydrous zirconium oxide (HZO) was investigated by titrating HZO with 0.05M HNO3 and NaOH at constant ionic strength. The sorption of strontium from 0.05M NaNO3 solution was measured as a function of pH. Abrupt increase in sorption was observed at the equilibrium pH of 9. The experimental titration and strontium sorption data on HZO were evaluated using the constant capacitance model (CCM) and diffuse double layer model (DLM). Various model parameters of Surface Complexation Models (SCM) were estimated, numerically, by non-linear regression. Modeling the sorption and speciation of Sr2+ on HZO indicated that the hydrolysis of Sr2+ to lower charged SrOH+ is the pre-requisite for the abrupt sorption behavior at pH 9.  相似文献

A quantitative TLC separation of metal ions using cerium (IV) antimonate as the solid phase are described. Using an acetonitrile- HNO3 solvent Pb2+ can be separated quantitatively (2–10 μg) from several other ions. Abstract

A thin layer partition chromatographic method has been developed for separation of Fe(III), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), Pb(II) and Mn(II) on thin layers of silica gel-G as an adsorbent. The Rf values were determined using 0.01–0.2 aqueous solution of sodium thioglycolate as a mobile phase. The dependence of Rf values on the migration time, pH and concentration of mobile phase has been studied. The optimum conditions for possible 3-component separation have been determined. Metal ions have been separated, detected, eluted and quantitatively determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The present method was applied to the separation and determination of zinc in forensic samples.  相似文献

Silica gel impregnated with poly(ethylene glycol) of different molecular mass (400, 1000, 1540, 4000, and 5500) was investigated for salting-out thin-layer chromatography of 15 mixed aminocarboxylato Co(III) complexes using eight ammonium sulphate solutions as mobile phases. Regularities established earlier for non-impregnated adsorbents are also valid in this work. Poly(ethylene glycol) of high molecular mass increases the hydrophobicity of the adsorbent. Positive linear dependence of RM values and of salting-out efficiency on average poly(ethylene glycol) molecular mass was usually observed. In contrast with non-impregnated silica gel, separation was achieved between complexes with the smallest hydrocarbon groups.  相似文献

Dark colored chelates of p-dimethylaminoanil of 3-benzoyl-methylglyoxal bidentate ligand with Sb(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), ZrO(II), Y(III), La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III) Sm(III), Gd(III) and Dy(III) have been chromatographed on starch bound silica gel thin layers. New correlations of I.R. with Rf (resolving solvent) have been used to ascertain the colored spots.

Among various mixtures resolved qualitatively a few typical ones have been alanysed quantitatively. Errors in determinations and maximum separation limits have also been deduced.  相似文献

A new adsorbent, modified mesoporous lanthanum(III) silicate, has been prepared with various molar ratios of Si/La (10, 20, 40, 80) and cethyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as structure directing agent. XRD, nitrogen sorption, SEM, IR, thermogravimetry and sorption of radionuclides and toxic metal ions have been studied. The results show that adsorption amount of some element such as Pb(II) and Th(IV) has been increased significantly by incorporation of lanthanum ions in the framework of adsorbent. Separation of Co(II)‐Th(IV), Co(II)‐U(VI) and Mo(VI)‐U(VI) has been developed on columns of this adsorbent.  相似文献
