Abstract

Dark colored chelates of p-dimethylaminoanil of 3-benzoyl-methylglyoxal bidentate ligand with Sb(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), ZrO(II), Y(III), La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III) Sm(III), Gd(III) and Dy(III) have been chromatographed on starch bound silica gel thin layers. New correlations of I.R. with Rf (resolving solvent) have been used to ascertain the colored spots.

Among various mixtures resolved qualitatively a few typical ones have been alanysed quantitatively. Errors in determinations and maximum separation limits have also been deduced.  相似文献

The present work reports on stoichiometry, apparent stability constants of biologically relevant complexes of nickel(II), cobalt(III) with hydrazones derived from pyridoxal 5′-phosphate and hydrazides of 2-,3-,4-pyridinecarboxylic acids at pH 7.4, T?=?25.0?°C, I?=?0.25 determined using UV-Vis spectroscopy. The thermodynamic constants of some complexes formation (NiL, NiL2, NiL2H) were estimated. Cobalt(II) ion was found to be oxidized to cobalt(III). Co(II) and Co(III) form low-spin state complexes. Hydrazones binding ability (pL0.5) in the medium mimicking biological ones towards Ni(II) and Co(III) was estimated.  相似文献

Abstract

On mixing organic solutions of [Et2PS2]M/n and [Prop2PS2]M/n [M=Pd(II), Pt(II), Rh(III), lr(III), Cr(III)] an equilibrium is obtained containing statistical amounts of the corresponding mixed ligand complexes as can be shown by 31P{1H}-NMR, HPLC and FD-MS. With Pt(II)- and Pd(II)-chelates the kinetics of ligand exchange was determined by HPLC. Mixed complexes ML2L′ and MLL′2 were isolated from the equilibrium solutions in case of the more inert Cr(III)-, Rh(III)- and lr(III)-chelates by preparative HPLC. Pd(II), Pt(II) and Rh(III) can be determined quickly and simultaneously in aqueous solutions at nanogramm level by complexation with Et2PS2? in a modified sample loop followed by reversed phase HPLC.  相似文献

The nature and composition of complexes formed by the reaction of Fe(III), Cr(III), Zn(II), and Co(II) with potassium pentacyanonitrosyl manganate K3 [Mn(CN)5NO] has been investigated by radiometric method. The metals form 1∶1 complexes with K3 [Mn(CN)5NO], the optimum pH for maximum precipitation being 3.6 for Fe(III), 7.3 for Cr(III), 5.4 for Zn(II), and 8.3 for Co(II). The solubility of the complexes as computed from activity at maximum precipitation point follows the order: chromium complex > iron complex > cobalt complex > zinc complex. The radiometric titration curves also show the formation of colloidal precipitates with dilute Zn(II) solutions.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of binary Cu(II)- (1), Co(II)- (2), Ni(II)- (3), Mn(II)- (4), Cr(III)- (5), Fe(III)- (6), La(III)- (7), UO2(VI)- (8) complexes with sparfloxacin (HL1) and ternary Cu(II)- (9), Co(II)- (10), Ni(II)- (11), Mn(II)- (12), Cr(III)- (13), Fe(III)- (14), La(III)- (15), UO2(VI)- (16) complexes with sparfloxacin (HL1) and dl-alanine (H2L2) complexes are reported using elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR, UV–Vis, thermal analysis and 1H-NMR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of all the complexes in DMF solution correspond to non-electrolytic nature. All complexes were of the high-spin type and found to have six-coordinate octahedral geometry except the Cu(II) complexes which were four coordinate, square planar and U- and La-atoms in the uranyl and lanthanide have a pentagonal bipyramidal coordination sphere. The antimicrobial activity of these complexes has been screened against two Gram-positive and two Gram-negative bacteria. Antifungal activity against two different fungi has been evaluated and compared with reference drug sparfloxacin. All the binary and ternary complexes showed remarkable potential antimicrobial activity higher than the recommended standard agents. Ni(II)- and Mn(II) complexes exhibited higher potency as compared to the parent drug against Gram-negative bacteria.  相似文献

A tridentate ONN donor ligand, 5-methyl-3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)pyrazole; H2L, was synthesized by reaction of 2-(3-ketobutanoyl)phenol with hydrazine hydrate. The ligand was characterized by IR, 1H NMR and mass spectra. 1H NMR spectra indicated the presence of the phenolic OH group and the imine NH group of the heterocyclic moiety. Different types of mononuclear metal complexes of the following formulae [(HL)2M][sdot]xH2O (M=VO, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and Cd), [(HL)2M(H2O)2] (M=Mn and UO2) and [(HL)LFe(H2O)2] were obtained. The Fe(III) complex, [(HL)LFe(H2O)2] undergoes solvatochromism. Elemental analyses, IR, electronic and ESR spectra as well as thermal, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements were used to elucidate the structures of the newly prepared metal complexes. A square-pyramidal geometry is suggested for the VO(IV) complex, square-planar for the Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, octahedral for the Fe(III) and Mn(II) complexes and tetrahedral for the Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes, while the UO2(VI) complex is eight-coordinate. Transmetallation of the UO2(VI) ion in its mononuclear complex by Fe(III), Ni(II) or Cu(II) ions occurred and mononuclear Fe(III), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were obtained. IR spectra of the products did not have the characteristic UO2 absorption band and the electronic spectra showed absorption bands similar to those obtained for the corresponding mononuclear complexes. Also, transmetallation of the Ni(II) ion in its mononuclear complex by Fe(III) has occurred. The antifungal activity of the ligand and the mononuclear complexes were investigated.  相似文献

Heteronuclear complexes containing oxorhenium(V), with Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and UO2(VI) ions were prepared by the reaction of the complex ligands [ReO(HL1)(PPh3)(OH2)Cl]Cl (a) and/or [ReO(H2L2)(PPh3)(OH2)Cl]Cl (b), where H2L1?=?1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)butane-1,3-dione-3-(5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine-3-ylhydrazone) and H3L2?=?1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)butane-1,3-dione-3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylhydrazone), with transition and actinide salts. Heterodinuclear complexes of ReO(V) with Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) were obtained using a 1?:?1 mole ratio of the complex ligand and the metal salt. Heterotrinuclear complexes were obtained containing ReO(V) with UO2(VI) and Cu(II) using 2?:?1 mole ratios of the complex ligand and the metal salts. The complex ligands a and b coordinate with the heterometal ion via a nitrogen of the heterocyclic ring and the nitrogen atom of the C=N7 group. All transition metal cations in the heteronuclear complexes have octahedral configurations, while UO2(VI)?complexes have distorted dodecahedral geometry. The structures of the complexes were elucidated by IR, ESR, electronic and 1H NMR spectra, magnetic moments, conductance and TG-DSC measurements. The antifungal activities of the complex ligands and their heteronuclear complexes towards Alternaria alternata and Aspergillus niger showed comparable behavior with some well-known antibiotics.  相似文献

Abstract

New metal complexes of Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Mn(II), Fe(III), Ru(III), UO2(II), and VO(II) with the Schiff base, 2-(5-((2-chlorophenyl)diazenyl)-2-hydroxy- benzylidene) hydrazine-carbothioamide (H2L) have been prepared and characterized by elemental and thermal analyses, FT-IR, UV–Vis, mass spectra, 1H-NMR, and ESR as well as conductivity and magnetic moments measurements. The IR spectra showed that the ligand acts as neutral tridentate, neutral bidentate or monobasic tridentate ligand. The geometries of metal complexes were either octahedral or square pyramidal. The ESR spectra of the solid copper(II) complexes indicated an axial symmetry type of a d(x2-y2) ground state with considerably ionic or covalent environment. The effect of the presence of an azo group on the biological activity of the ligand was investigated. The ligand and its complexes are biologically inactive due to the presence of azo group.

Abstract

The present work describes a novel method for cadmium preconcentration and separation with microcrystalline phenolphthalein. Phenolphthalein as an extractant modified by crystal violet was originally applied to cadmium extraction from aqueous solution. Cadmium(II) as CdI3 ? and CdI4 2? can associate with the cationic crystal violet (CV+) forming water‐insoluble ion‐association complexes (CdI3 ?) · (CV+) and (CdI4 2?) · (CV+)2, which are quantitatively adsorbed on microcrystalline phenolphthalein over the pH range from 1.0 to 6.0. All experimental parameters necessary for successful preconcentration and separation have been investigated and optimized. The study shows that common metal ions, such as Zn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Cr(III) and Al(III), cannot interfere with cadmium extraction in this microcrystalline system by controlling acidity. The extraction can be accomplished in 15 min. The interaction between CdI3 ?and CdI4 2? and CV+ plays an important role in the extraction process. The reported method was successfully applied to the preconcentration and separation of cadmium in synthetic samples and real samples with satisfactory results. The results proved that it is an efficient and attractive technique for cadmium preconcentration and separation at trace level.  相似文献

Reaction of the ligand 2,2′-diphenyl-4,4′-bithiazole (DPBTZ) with Hg(SCN)2, Tl(NO3)3, CuCl, and PdCl2 gives complexes with stoichiometry [Hg(DPBTZ)(SCN)2], [Tl(DPBTZ)(NO3)3], [Cu(DPBTZ)(H2O)Cl], and [Pd(DPBTZ)Cl2]. The new complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and infrared spectroscopy. The crystal structure of [Hg(DPBTZ)(SCN)2] determined by X-ray crystallography. The Hg atom in the title monomeric complex, (2,2′-diphenyl-4,4′-bithiazole)mercury(II)bisthiocyanate, [Hg(C18H12N2S2)(SCN)2], is four-coordinate having an irregular tetrahedral geometry composed of two S atoms of thiocyanate ions [Hg-S 2.4025(15) and 2.4073(15) Å] and two N atoms of 2,2′-diphenyl-4,4′-bithiazole ligand [Hg-N 2.411(4) and 2.459(4) Å]. The bond angle S(3)-Hg(1)-S(4) of 147.46(5)° has the greatest derivation from ideal tetrahedral geometry. Intermolecular interaction between Hg(1) and two S atoms of two neighboring molecules, 3.9318(15) and 3.9640(18) Å, make the Hg(1) distort from a tetrahedron to a disordered octahedron. The attempts for preparation complexes of Tl(I), Pb(II), Bi(III), Cd(II) ions with 2,2′-diphenyl-4,4′-bithiazole ligand were not successful and also the attempts for preparation complexes of 4,4′,5,5′-tetraphenyl-2,2′-bithizole ligand with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Co(III), Mn(II), Mn(III), Fe(II), Fe(III), Cr(III), Zn(II), Tl(III), Pb(II), Hg(II), Cu(I), Pd(II) were not successful. This point can be regarded as the initial electron withdrawing of phenyl rings and also their spatial steric effects.  相似文献

A new Schiff base, H2L, was prepared by condensation of 4,6-diacetylresorcinol with o-phenylenediamine in molar ratio 1?:?1. The ligand reacted with copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II), iron(III), zinc(II), oxovanadium(IV), and dioxouranium(VI) ions in the absence and presence of LiOH to yield mononuclear and homobinuclear complexes. The mononuclear dioxouranium(VI) complex [(HL)-(UO2)(OAc)(H2O)]·5H2O was used to synthesize heterobinuclear complexes. The ligand and its metal complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H-, and 13C-NMR, electronic, ESR and mass spectra, conductivity, and magnetic susceptibility measurements as well as thermal analysis. In the absence of LiOH, mononuclear complexes (1, 4, and 9) were obtained; in the presence of LiOH, binuclear complexes (3, 5, 7, and 10) as well as mononuclear complexes (2, 6, and 8) were obtained. In the mononuclear complexes, the coordinating sites are the phenolic oxygen, azomethine nitrogen, and amino nitrogen. In addition to these coordinating sites, the free carbonyl and phenolic OH are involved in coordination in binuclear complexes. The metal complexes exhibited octahedral, tetrahedral, and square planar geometries while the uranium is seven-coordinate. The antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of the ligand and its complexes were investigated. The ligand and the metal complexes showed antitumor activity against Ehrlich Acites Carcinoma.  相似文献

A new azohydrazone, 2-hydroxy-N′-2-hydroxy-5-(phenyldiazenyl)benzohydrazide (H3L) and its copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II), manganese(II), zinc(II), cadmium(II), mercury(II), vanadyl(II), uranyl(II), iron(III), and ruthenium(III) complexes have been prepared and characterized by elemental and thermal analyses as well as spectroscopic techniques (1H-NMR, IR, UV-Vis, ESR), magnetic, and conductivity measurements. Spectral data showed a neutral bidentate, monobasic bidentate, monobasic tridentate, and dibasic tridentate bonding to metal ions via the carbonyl oxygen in ketonic or enolic form, azomethine nitrogen, and/or deprotonated phenolic hydroxyl oxygen. ESR spectra of solid vanadyl(II) complex (2), copper(II) complexes (3–5), and (7) and manganese(II) complex (10) at room temperature show isotropic spectra, while copper(II) complex (6) shows axial symmetry with covalent character. Biological results show that the ligand is biologically inactive but the complexes exhibit mild effect on Gram positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis), some octahedral complexes exhibit moderate effect on Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli), and VO(II), Cd(II), UO(II), and Hg(II) complexes show higher effect on Fungus (Aspergillus niger). When compared to previous results, metal complexes of this hydrazone have a mild effect on microorganisms due to the presence of the azo group.  相似文献

Two new complexes, [Ni(en)2(mtt)2] (1) and [Co(en)2(mtt)2](mtt) (2) (Hmtt = 5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol and en = ethylenediamine), have been synthesized and characterized by various physicochemical techniques. Complexes 1 and 2 crystallize in monoclinic and orthorhombic system with space groups P 21/n and P 21 21 21, respectively. The molecular structures of 1 and 2 show that the metal ions are six-coordinate bonded through four equatorial nitrogens of two en and two axial nitrogens of mtt ligands. The crystal structures of the complexes reveal that mtt is present in thione form and bound to the metal ion through the thiadiazole nitrogen. The crystal structures of the complexes are stabilized by various intermolecular hydrogen bonding providing supramolecular architecture. Complex 2 is also stabilized by weak π···π interactions occurring between two thiadiazole rings. The bioefficacies of the ligand and complexes have been examined against the growth of bacteria to evaluate their antimicrobial potential. The biological results suggest that 2 is more active than the ligand and 1 against the tested bacteria. The geometries of the ligand and the complexes have been optimized by the DFT method and the results are compared with the X-ray diffraction data. The Co(III) complex exhibits an irreversible Co(III)/Co(II) process while the Ni(II) complex displays quasi-reversible Ni(II)/Ni(III) redox processes with large peak separation as compared to that expected for a one electron process which is thought to be coupled with some chemical reaction.  相似文献

Abstract

A spectrometric study of the reaction between Pd(II), Fe(III) and Pt(IV) ions, and Mandelazo I was carried out. The optimum conditions favouring the formation of the complexes are extensively investigated. The stoichiometry of the complexes formed in solution (1:2, 1:1, 1:1), their apparent stability constants (5.45 × 109, 2.39 × 106, 4.12 × 105) and the ranges for obedience to beer's law (0.2 – 6.4, 0.25 – 7.0, 1.5 – 42.0 μg/mL) are reported for Pd(II), Fe(III) and Pt(IV), respectively. The effect of some metal ions including Cu(II), Zn(II), Mn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Be(II), Al(III), Th(IV) and U(VI), on the maximum absorbance of the formed complexes was also investigated.  相似文献

Three new mononuclear Cu(II) and Co(III) complexes [Cu(L)Cl]ClO4 (1), [Cu(L)Cl(SCN)] (2), and [Co(L)(N3)3] (3), where L is a reduced Schiff-base ligand bi(2-fluorobenzylaminoethyl)amine, were synthesized and characterized. X-ray crystallographical analysis reveals that the Cu(II) atom adopts a square-planar environment in complex 1, while the geometry in 2 can be described as distorted square-pyramidal. The Co(III) atom in 3 is in a distorted octahedral geometry. Three complexes were investigated for their inhibitory activities in vitro against jack bean urease. The Cu(II) complexes 1 and 2 were found to have excellent inhibitory activities. The Co(III) complex 3 was also shown to have activity comparable to that of acetohydroxamic acid.  相似文献

Abstract

A thin layer partition chromatographic method has been developed for separation of Fe(III), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), Pb(II) and Mn(II) on thin layers of silica gel-G as an adsorbent. The Rf values were determined using 0.01–0.2 aqueous solution of sodium thioglycolate as a mobile phase. The dependence of Rf values on the migration time, pH and concentration of mobile phase has been studied. The optimum conditions for possible 3-component separation have been determined. Metal ions have been separated, detected, eluted and quantitatively determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The present method was applied to the separation and determination of zinc in forensic samples.  相似文献

A new vic-dioxime 6,7-bis(hydroxyimino)-9,10-diethylidine-5,8,9,10,11,18-hexahydro-5,8,11,18-tetraazadibenzo[a,e]cyclotetradecane-6,7,12,17-tetraone (H2L) and its hydrogen-bridged tetra- and six-coordinate complexes with Ni(II), Co(II), and Co(III) have been synthesized. The six-coordinate complexes of H2L have pyridine and chloride as axial ligands. Hydrogen-bridge complexes were converted to their BF2-bridged analogues by reaction with boron trifluoride etherate. Structures of the H2L and its complexes were proposed from elemental analysis, 1H and 13C NMR, IR and mass spectra.  相似文献

A series of Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), La(III), Ru(III), Hf(IV), Zr(IV) and U(VI) complexes of phenylamino acetoacetylacetone hydrazone have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV–Vis, magnetic moments, conductances, thermal analyses (DTA and TGA) and ESR measurements. The IR data show that the ligand is neutral bidentate, monobasic bidentate, monobasic tridentate or dibasic tridentate towards the metal ion. Molar conductances in DMF indicate that the complexes are non-electrolytes. The ESR spectra of solid [(L)(HL)Cu2(NO3)(H2O)]·1/2H2O (10) and [(H2L)Cu(Cl)2(H2O)2] (11) show axial spectra with g >?g >?2.0023 indicating d(x²???y²) ground state with significant covalent bond character. However, [(HL)2Mn2(Cl)2(H2O)4·H2O (13) shows an isotropic spectrum, indicating manganese(II) to be octahedral. Antibacterial and antifungal tests of the ligand and some of its metal complexes revealed that the complexes are more potent bactericides and fungicides than the ligand.  相似文献
