Abstract

A comparative study of the chromatographic behaviour of anions, iodide, sulphide, phosphate, arsenate, arsenite, vanadate, chroraate, dichromate, thiosulphate, thiocyanate, ferricyanide and ferrocyanide on papers impregnated with hydrated bismuth oxide and untreated Whatman no, 1 papers has been made by employing identical aqueous, non-aqueous and mixed solvent systems. Sharp and compact spots were obtained with impregnated papers whereas the opposite applied to plain papers. Various analytically important binary and ternary separations are reported.  相似文献

Abstract

Papers impregnated with zinc silicate have been used for the chromatographic studies of amines taken in the form of their hydrochlorides. Rf values of various amines have been determined and compared with its behaviour on plain papers. Quantitative separations of dimethylamine from methylamine, α-naphthylamine, o-toluidine and o-nitroaniline; o-phenylenediamine from m-phenylenediamine; diphenylamine from piperidine have also been achieved on columns loaded with zinc silicate exchanger.  相似文献

Abstract

The modified optical density method of Moore and Stein has been used for the estimation of amino acids present in biological samples. the mixture of amino acids were chromatographad on bismuth oxide impregnated papers, the identified spots were cut out and eluted, the optical densities were measured at 570 nm. Abstract

A new adsorbent iron(III) diethanol amine has been utilized for the chromatographic separations of phenols. RF values of 31 phenols in ethanol and ammonia solution of four different concentrations have been studied. On the basis of difference in RF values various analytically important qualitative separations of phenols on impregnated papers and quantitative separations on columns of iron(III) diethanolamine have been achieved.  相似文献

Abstract

The effect of surfactants on the chromatographic behaviour of 16 phenols of different nature have been observed on Whatman No 2 paper strips impregnated with hydrated cerium oxide. the movement of phenolic spots was observed in various mobile phase solvents with or without 4m ML?1 8m ML?1 and 12m ML?1 sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS). It is observed that the use of micellar mobile phase systems, which improve the selectivity and compactness of the spots, offered significant advantages over traditional solvents. On the basis of appreciable differences in the af values of phenols a variety of bioanalytically important binary and ternary separations were achieved without using separate detecting reagents, as most of the phenols appear as coloured spots with cerium oxide papers.  相似文献

Abstract

Reversed phase thin layer chromatography of metal ions have been performed on s-butylamine and t-butylamine impregnated silica gel thin layers in formic acid and sodium formate systems. Separation potential of impregnated silica gel thin layers was explored. Impregnated silica gel layers were found to be more selective (strongly sorbing) than unimpregnated silica gel chromo-toplates. Several important binary and ternary separations were achieved on impregnated thin layers.  相似文献

The chromatographic saparation of Thorium, Titanium, Zirconium and eight rare earths has been attempted on DBBP, HDEHP and HDEHP-TOPO impregnated cellulose plates using the solvent system MaOH-6N HNO3?Acatyl acetone (20:15:5). The chromatographic behaviour of 40 phenols on silica gel G plates impregnated with ethylenediamine, diethylenetriamine, triethylenetetramine and hexamine has been studied and its correlation with the equilibrium constants of the adducts formed by the interaction of phenols with ethylenediamine as an impregnant has been attempted. A suitable separation scheme for these phenols on silica gel G plates impregnated with ethylenediamine and hexamine has been worked out.  相似文献

Abstract

Zirconium (IV) phosphoantimonate impregnated papers have been used to study the electrochromatographic behaviour of 29 metal ions in buffers of weak organic acids with their corresponding ammonium salts as background electrolytes at fixed voltage and time intervals. As a result of these investigations, the variation in the average mobility of metal ions with the ionisation constants of the organic acids used in buffers and other parameters such as atomic numbers and charge on the metal ions has been studied. On the basis of the differential mobilites of the metal ions, which depends on the ion exchange properties of Zr(IV) phosphoantimonate and the nature of the complexes formed with the electrolytes, some binary, ternary and quarternary separation have been achieved. Besides microgram separations (25 μg-100 μg) of Pt(TV) from Pt group and other metal ions have also been achieved.  相似文献

Summary The chromatographic behaviour of 49 metal ions has been studied on papers impregnated with Sn(IV) and Ti(IV) antimonates in aqueous HNO3 and mixed solvent systems containing dimethyl sulphoxide. Numerous separations have been achieved and the Alberti equation, for Sn(IV) and Ti(IV) antimonate papers, in the modified form: –nloga K+=RM + constant (a K+=activity of K+), has been verified. The effect of the concentration of impregnating reagents on these papers has been determined and compared with other papers. The effect of pH on Rf, Ri, log Rf and RM values of metal ions has also been examined in aqueous systems.  相似文献

Ammonium molybdate and Copper sulphate were found as good impregnants for improving the separation of some closely related thirty synthetic dyes on silica gal ‘G’ layers using the solvent system BuOH-AcOH-H2O (25:5:10). Summary Papers impregnated with Cu(II) sorbed on zinc silicate have been used to study the ligand exchange chromatographic behavior of amines. RF values of 16 amines have been studied in 6 different systems. The concept of using paper chromatography on papers impregnated with liquid anion or cation exchangers is extended to the separation of trace elements through filtration on filter papers loaded with suitable extractant. The uptake of uranium, thorium and lanthanum from HCl and HNO3 media of different molarities by a filter paper treated with tri-octyl amine (TOA) is investigated. The effect of the different parameters on the uptake of the studied elements is experimented. A simple and fast radiochemical procedure is developed for the separation of La, Th and U from each other.  相似文献

Abstract

New sorbent phases have been developed by impregnating silica gel G with different inorganic salts for the analysis of metal ions by thin layer chroma to graphy in carboxylic acids media. Thin layers prepared from silica gel G impregnated with ammonium chloride or barium nitrate show the unusual selectivity towards metal ions in comparison to the thin layers prepared from plain silica gel G or silica gel impregnated with silver nitrate or aluminium nitrate. Zusammenfassung Eine radiometrische Ringofenmethode zur Bestimmung der Sorptionskapazität von Zellstoffkapillarträgern wird empfohlen. Gewonnene Werte für 25 Arten von Kapillarträgern verschiedener Hersteller werden mitgeteilt und mit Literaturwerten verglichen. Der Sorption liegen, aufgrund der Versuchsergebnisse, hauptsächlich Ionenaustauschprozesse zugrunde. Kennzahlen der statistischen Auswertung des Verfahrens sind angegeben.
Contributions to ring oven methodology. XVI. A procedure for determining the sorption capacity of filter and chromatography papers
Summary A radiometric ring oven method for determination of sorption capacity of cellulose capillary papers is recommended. The values obtained for 25 kinds of capillary papers from various manufacturers are given and compared with the literature values. The experimental results indicate that sorption is mainly based on ion exchange processes. Index figures for the statistical evaluation of the procedure are given.
