本文用扫描曝光法制作出8cm长取样线性chirped光纤光栅,并对其中三个主要的反射峰带宽范围内的时延特性进行测试。光栅三个反射峰内均有接近线性的时延曲线,且色散值基本相同。可见,一支样线性chirped光纤光栅可以用来补偿光通信系统中路波长信号的色散。 相似文献

We demonstrate that chromatic dispersion and group delay ripple limit the performance of all-optical regeneration based on self-phase modulation. The level of degradation depends in detail on the type of phase distortions introduced. The regenerator performance is measured using the optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) margin provided to the system for a given bit error ratio. The addition of chromatic dispersion and group delay ripple induces a significant reduction in this OSNR margin. 相似文献

光双二进制信号的谱宽是传统二进制信号的一半,采用双二进制传输比二进制传输色散限制的中继距离可增加一倍.本文对采用传统光接收机的光双二进制传输系统用MATLAB进行了通信仿真.结果表明:在完全消光条件下,10 Gb/s双二进制信号在常规单模光纤上传输可达160 km,40 Gb/s双二进制信号在非零色散光纤上为30 km,均比二进制增加了一倍;详细考察了消光比对传输的影响,只有消光比大于25 dB时,双二进制相对于二进制传输的优越性才呈现出来. 相似文献

In the paper, the effect of phase mismatch on two-pump fiber optical parametric amplifier is investigate based on analytic solutions of parametric gain. The phase mismatch is mainly induced by the fiber losses, the fourth-order dispersion and zero-dispersion wavelength fluctuations. The fiber losses reduce the pump powers resulting in a fall of the parametric gain, and make the phase mismatch vary with propagation distance leading to an obvious gain ripple. When the fiber losses are taken into account, the fourth-order dispersion produces a deeper ripple on the parametric gain and deteriorates the gain flatness. Zero-dispersion wavelength fluctuations result in variations of gain spectrum, and the long-scale fluctuations are more devastating than the short-scale ones. 相似文献

Chromatic dispersion compensation is an integral part of WDM transmission system design. Compensator properties such as insertion
loss, dispersion slope and effective mode area have a large impact on WDM system performance due to nonlinear optical propagation
effects. Dispersion compensator imperfections, such as multi-path interference, group delay ripple, insertion loss ripple
and limited per-channel compensation bandwidth, place additional limitations on the achievable transmission distance and capacity.
In this paper, a survey of key WDM transmission system experiments is undertaken to 1) review the development of chromatic
dispersion compensation technologies, 2) discuss the device characteristics that most impact system design for each technology,

We present an optimization process for the apodization strength factor of fiber Bragg grating dispersion compensators. It will be demonstrated that a proper choice of the apodization strength factor results in minimum deviation of the dispersion from the required level, maximum reflection bandwidth and minimum group delay ripple impact, thus leading to a reduction of the Q-factor penalty of the dispersion compensating system. We also discuss the influence of the fiber link length in the determination of the optimum apodization strength factor, taking into account that shorter links minimize the group delay ripple amplitude, whereas the longer ones maximize the bandwidth of interest. It is determined that a fiber link length of ~80 km can balance the requirements of group delay ripple impact and bandwidth. The results obtained through this analysis allow a faster modeling of the Bragg grating parameters in order to achieve an improved spectral performance, as well as a cost-effective fabrication process. 相似文献
