Single crystals of the quaternary compound Ba8Cu3In4N5 were prepared by heating Ba, Cu, and In in a Na flux at 1023 K under 7 MPa of N2, and by slow cooling from this temperature. The crystal structure was analyzed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in an orthorhombic cell (space group Immm (No. 71), Z=2) with a=4.0781(6), b=12.588(2), and c=19.804(3) Å at 298 K. The structural formula is expressed as Ba8[CuN2]2 [CuN]In4. Nitridocuprates of one-dimensional chains 1[CuN2/2] and isolated units 0[CuN2], and one-dimensional indium clusters 1[In2In4/2] are contained in the structure. A split-site model applied for the arrangement of 1[CuN2/2] chains suggested that there is a short-bond, long-bond alternation of the Cu-N bondings. The electrical resistivity of Ba8Cu3In4N5 was 3.44 mΩ·cm at 298 K. A metallic temperature dependence of the resistivity was observed down to 10 K.  相似文献

Strontium borophosphate phosphate (Sr6BP5O20, SrBP), activated by divalent europium ions is a bluish-green phosphor emitting in a broad band with the emission peak near 480 nm. In this paper, we report the crystal structure of SrBP determined from an analysis of the X-ray diffraction pattern of a prismatic single crystal (size 60 μm×50 μm×40 μm). This crystal was chosen from undoped phosphor powder samples prepared for this purpose by solid-state reaction. SrBP is observed to crystallize in a body-centered tetragonal lattice with the lattice parameters and , the associated space group being (space group 120). Using the structural data from this study, we have also calculated its electronic structure using the augmented spherical wave method and the local density approximation (LDA). We show the ordering of the electronic states by the density of states (DOS) and the partial DOS plots. The LDA gives a direct optical band gap at the Γ point of about 5 eV. The significance of the crystal structure and associated electronic structure is discussed with respect to maintenance of this phosphor in Hg-discharge lamps.  相似文献

Sr4AlNbO8 was synthesized at 1500 °C in air. The crystal structure was initially determined from powder X-ray diffraction data, and later refined with combined X-ray and neutron diffraction data (P21/c; a=7.17592(2) Å, b=5.80261(2) Å, c=19.7408(1) Å; β=97.5470(1)°, V=814.869(3) Å3, Z=4, Rp/Rwp=10.04%/13.18% for X-ray data, 4.40%/5.67% for neutron data, and 7.71%/10.74% in total with χ2 of 3.76, 23 °C). The crystal structure is a new structure type and may be described as a three-dimensional polyhedral network resulting from the corner-sharing of NbO6 and Sr1O6 octahedra and AlO4 tetrahedra. Also, the other strontium atoms (Sr2, Sr3, and Sr4) occupy the larger cavities surrounded by oxygen atoms to form nine, eight, and 11 coordination, respectively. Considering that Sr, Al, and Nb atoms are crystallographically distinct in terms of interatomic distances and polyhedral coordination, Sr4AlNbO8 can be regarded as a stoichiometric compound.  相似文献

Reported are the synthesis and the structural characterization of four new polar intermetallic phases, which exist only with mixed alkaline-earth and rare-earth metal cations in narrow homogeneity ranges. (Sr1-xCax)5In3Ge6 and (Eu1-xYbx)5In3Ge6 (x≈0.7) crystallize in the orthorhombic space group Pnma with two formula units per unit cell (own structure type, Pearson symbol oP56). The lattice parameters are as follows: a=13.109(3)-13.266(3) Å, b=4.4089(9)-4.4703(12) Å, and c=23.316(5)-23.557(6) Å. (Sr1-xCax)3In2Ge4 and (Sr1-xYbx)3In2Ge4 (x≈0.4-0.5) adopt another novel monoclinic structure-type (space group C2/m, Z=4, Pearson symbol mS36) with lattice parameters in the range a=19.978(2)-20.202(2) Å, b=4.5287(5)-4.5664(5) Å, c=10.3295(12)-10.3447(10) Å, and β=98.214(2)-98.470(2)°, depending on the metal cations and their ratio. The polyanionic sub-structures in both cases are based on chains of InGe4 corner-shared tetrahedra. The A5In3Ge6 structure (A=Sr/Ca or Sr/Yb) also features Ge4 tetramers, and isolated In atoms in nearly square-planar environment, while the A3In2Ge4 structure (A=Sr/Ca or Eu/Yb) contains zig-zag chains of In and Ge strings with intricate topology of cis- and trans-bonds. The experimental results have been complemented by tight-binding linear muffin-tin orbital (LMTO) band structure calculations.  相似文献

An alkali-metal indium phosphate crystal, K3In3P4O16, has been synthesized by a high-temperature solution reaction and exhibits a new structure in the family of the alkali-metal indium phosphates system. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows the structure to be monoclinic with space group P21/n, and the following cell parameters: a=9.7003(18), b=9.8065(18), c=15.855(3) Å, β=90.346(3)°, V=1508.2(5) Å3, Z=4, R=0.0254. It possesses three-dimensional anionic frameworks with tunnels occupied by K+ cations running along the a-axis. The emission and absorption spectra of the compound have been investigated. Additionally, the calculations of energy band structure, density of states, dielectric constants and refractive indexes have been performed with the density functional theory method. Also, the two-photon absorption spectrum is simulated by two-band model. The obtained results tend to support the experimental data.  相似文献

The single crystals of caesium magnesium titanium (IV) tri-oxo-tetrakis-diphosphate bis-monophosphate, Cs3.70Mg0.60Ti2.78(TiO)3(P2O7)4(PO4)2, crystallize in sp. gr. P-1 (No. 2) with cell parameters a=6.3245(4), b=9.5470(4), c=15.1892(9) Å, α=72.760(4), β=85.689(5), γ=73.717(4), z=1. The titled compound possesses a three-dimensional tunnel structure built by the corner-sharing of distorted [TiO6] octahedra, [Ti2O11] bioctahedra, [PO4] monophosphate and [P2O7] pyrophosphate groups. The Cs+ cations are located in the tunnels. The partial substitution of Ti positions with Mg atoms is observed. The negative charge of the framework is balanced by Cs cations and Mg atoms leading to pronounced concurrency and orientation disorder in the [P2O7] groups, which coordinate both.  相似文献

The rare earth-platinum-indides Nd6Pt13In22, Sm6Pt12.30In22.70, and Gd6Pt12.48In22.52 were synthesized from the elements by arc-melting of the components. Single crystals were grown using special annealing sequences. The three indides were investigated by X-ray powder and single crystal diffraction: Tb6Pt12In23 type, C2/m, Z=2, a=2811.9(6), b=441.60(9), , β=112.10(3)°, wR2=0.0629, 3645 F2 values, 126 variables for Nd6Pt13In22, a=2821.9(6), b=443.06(9), , β=112.39(3)°, wR2=0.0543, 3679 F2 values, 127 variables for Sm6Pt12.30In22.70, and a=2818.5(6), b=439.90(9), , β=112.29(3)°, wR2=0.0778, 3938 F2 values, 127 variables for Gd6Pt12.48In22.52. Most platinum atoms in these structures have a distorted trigonal prismatic coordination by rare earth metal and indium atoms. Together, the platinum and indium atoms build up a complex three-dimensional [Pt12+xIn23−x] polyanionic network in which the rare earth metal atoms fill distorted pentagonal and hexagonal channels. The 2c Wyckoff site in these structures plays a peculiar role. This site is occupied by indium in the prototype Tb6Pt12In23, while platinum atoms fill the 2c site in Nd6Pt13In22, leading to a linear Pt3 chain with Pt-Pt distances of 275 pm. The crystals with samarium and gadolinium as rare earth metal component show mixed Pt/In occupancies.  相似文献

A new cesium uranyl niobate, Cs9[(UO2)8O4(NbO5)(Nb2O8)2] or Cs9U8Nb5O41 has been synthesized by high-temperature solid-state reaction, using a mixture of U3O8, Cs2CO3 and Nb2O5. Single crystals were obtained by incongruent melting of a starting mixture with metallic ratio=Cs/U/Nb=1/1/1. The crystal structure of the title compound was determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction data, and solved in the monoclinic system with the following crystallographic data: a=16.729(2) Å, b=14.933(2) Å, c=20.155(2) Å β=110.59(1)°, P21/c space group and Z=4. The crystal structure was refined to agreement factors R1=0.049 and wR2=0.089, calculated for 4660 unique observed reflections with I?2σ(I), collected on a BRUKER AXS diffractometer with MoKα radiation and a CCD detector. In this structure the UO7 uranyl pentagonal bipyramids are connected by sharing edges and corners to form a uranyl layer corresponding to a new anion-sheet topology, and creating triangular, rectangular and square vacant sites. The two last sites are occupied by Nb2O8 entities and NbO5 square pyramids, respectively, to form infinite uranyl niobate sheets stacking along the [010] direction. The Nb2O8 entities result from two edge-shared NbO5 square pyramids. The Cs+ cations are localized between layers and ensured the cohesion of the structure. The cesium cation mobility between the uranyl niobate sheets was studied by electrical measurements. The conductivity obeys the Arrhenius law in all the studied temperature domains. The observed low conductivity values with high activation energy may be explained by the strong connection of the Cs+ cations to the infinite uranyl niobate layers and by the high density of these cations in the interlayer space without vacant site.Infrared spectroscopy investigated at room temperature in the frequency range 400-4000 cm−1, showed some characteristic bands of uranyl ion and niobium polyhedra.  相似文献

We have successfully synthesized a high-purity polycrystalline sample of tetragonal Li7La3Zr2O12. Single crystals have been also grown by a flux method. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis verifies that tetragonal Li7La3Zr2O12 has the garnet-related type structure with a space group of I41/acd (no. 142). The lattice constants are a=13.134(4) Å and c=12.663(8) Å. The garnet-type framework structure is composed of two types of dodecahedral LaO8 and octahedral ZrO6. Li atoms occupy three crystallographic sites in the interstices of this framework structure, where Li(1), Li(2), and Li(3) atoms are located at the tetrahedral 8a site and the distorted octahedral 16f and 32g sites, respectively. The structure is also investigated by the Rietveld method with X-ray and neutron powder diffraction data. These diffraction patterns are identified as the tetragonal Li7La3Zr2O12 structure determined from the single-crystal data. The present tetragonal Li7La3Zr2O12 sample exhibits a bulk Li-ion conductivity of σb=1.63×10−6 S cm−1 and grain-boundary Li-ion conductivity of σgb=5.59×10−7 S cm−1 at 300 K. The activation energy is estimated to be Ea=0.54 eV in the temperature range of 300–560 K.  相似文献

Single crystals of NaCoO2 have been successfully synthesized for the first time by a flux method at 1323 K. A single-crystal X-ray diffraction study confirmed the trigonal space group and the lattice parameters , . The crystal structure has been refined to the conventional values R=1.9% and wR=2.1% for 309 independent observed reflections. The electron density distribution of NaCoO2 has been studied by the maximum entropy method (MEM) using single-crystal X-ray diffraction data obtained at 298 K. From the results of the MEM analysis, the strong covalent bonding was clearly observed between Co and O atoms, while no bonding was observed around Na atoms. We also calculated the electron density of NaCoO2 by first principles calculations. The electron density obtained experimentally is in good agreement with the theoretical one.  相似文献

Na3Cu2O4 and Na8Cu5O10 were prepared via the azide/nitrate route from stoichiometric mixtures of the precursors CuO, NaN3 and NaNO3. Single crystals have been grown by subsequent annealing of the as prepared powders at 500 °C for 2000 h in silver crucibles, which were sealed in glass ampoules under dried Ar. According to the X-ray analysis of the crystal structures (Na3Cu2O4: P21/n, Z=4, a=5.7046(2), b=11.0591(4), c=8.0261(3) Å, β=108.389(1)°, 2516 independent reflections, R1(all)=0.0813, wR2 (all)=0.1223; Na8Cu5O10: Cm, Z=2, a=8.228(1), b=13.929(2), , β=111.718(2)°, 2949 independent reflections, R1(all)=0.0349, wR2 (all)=0.0850), the main feature of both crystal structures are CuO2 chains built up from planar, edge-sharing CuO4 squares. From the analysis of the Cu-O bond lengths, the valence states of either +2 or +3 can be unambiguously assigned to each copper atom. In Na3Cu2O4 these ions alternate in the chains, in Na8Cu5O10 the periodically repeated part consists of five atoms according to CuII-CuII-CuIII-CuII-CuIII. The magnetic susceptibilities show the dominance of antiferromagnetic interactions. At high temperatures the compounds exhibit Curie-Weiss behaviour (Na3Cu2O4: , , Na8Cu5O10: , , magnetic moments per divalent copper ion). Antiferromagmetic ordering is observed to occur in these compounds below 13 K (Na3Cu2O4) and 24 K (Na8Cu5O10).  相似文献

Single crystals of the strontium phosphate orthoborate metaborate, Sr10[(PO4)5.5(BO4)0.5](BO2), were grown from the melt and investigated by X-ray diffraction (space group , No. 147; a=9.7973(8) Å, c=7.3056(8) Å, V=607.29(10) Å3, Z=1). The crystal structure is closely related to apatite and contains linear metaborate groups, [BO2] (point group D∞h, B-O=1.284(11) Å) taking positions within the channels running along the three-fold inversion axis. Strontium sites are found to be fully occupied while [PO4]3− tetrahedra are partially replaced by [BO4]5− groups.  相似文献

Single crystals of iron(II) pyroborate, Fe2B2O5, were prepared at 1000–1050 °C under an argon atmosphere. The crystals were transparent, yellowish in color and needle-like or columnar. The crystal structure of Fe2B2O5 was analyzed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Refined triclinic unit cell parameters were a=3.2388(2), b=6.1684(5), c=9.3866(8) Å, α=104.613(3)°, β=90.799(2)° and γ=91.731(2)°. The final reliability factors of refinement were R1=0.020 and wR2=0.059 [I > 2σ(I)]. Transmittance over 50% in the visible light region from 500 to 750 nm was observed for a single crystal of Fe2B2O5 with a thickness of about 0.3 mm. The light absorption edge estimated from a diffuse reflectance spectrum was at around 350 nm (3.6 eV). Magnetic susceptibility was measured for single crystals at 4–300 K. Fe2B2O5 showed antiferromagnetic behavior below the Néel temperature, TN≈70 K, and the Weiss temperature was TW=36 K. The effective magnetic moment of Fe was 5.3μB.  相似文献

Single crystals of Sr3B2SiO8 were obtained by solid-state reaction of stoichiometric mixture at 1200 °C. The crystal structure of the compound has been solved by direct methods and refined to R1=0.064 (wR=0.133). It is orthorhombic, Pnma, a=12.361(4), b=3.927(1), c=5.419(1) Å, V=263.05(11) Å3. The structure contains zigzag pseudo-chains running along the b axis and built up from corner sharing (Si,B)−O polyhedra. Boron and silicon are statistically distributed over one site with their coordination strongly disordered. Sr atoms are located between the chains providing three-dimensional linkage of the structure. The formation of Sr3B2SiO8 has been studied using annealing series in air at 900-1200 °C. According powder XRD, the probe contains pure Sr3B2SiO8 over 1100 °C. The compound is not stable below 900 °C. In the pseudobinary Sr2B2O5-Sr3B2SiO8 system a new series of solid solutions Sr3−xB2Si1−xO8−3x (x=0-0.9) have been crystallized from melt. The thermal behavior of Sr3B2SiO8 was investigated using powder high-temperature X-ray diffraction (HTXRD) in the temperature range 20-900 °C. The anisotropic character of thermal expansion has been observed: αa= −1.3, αb=23.5, αc=13.9, and αV=36.1×10−6 °C−1 (25 °C); αa= −1.3, αb=23.2, αc=5.2, and αV=27.1×10−6 °C−1 (650 °C). Maximal thermal expansion of the structure along of the chain direction [0 1 0] is caused by the partial straightening of chain zigzag. Hinge mechanism of thermal expansion is discussed.  相似文献

The high-temperature polymorphs of two photocatalytic materials, BiNbO4 and BiTaO4 were synthesized by the ceramic method. The crystal structures of these materials were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. BiNbO4 and BiTaO4 crystallize into the triclinic system P1¯ (No. 2), with a=5.5376(4) Å, b=7.6184(3) Å, c=7.9324(36) Å, α=102.565(3)°, β=90.143(2)°, γ=92.788 (4)°, V=326.21 (5) Å3, Z=4 and a=5.931 (1) Å, b=7.672 (2) Å, c=7.786 (2) Å, α=102.94 (3)°, β=90.04 (3)° γ=93.53 (3)°, V=344.59 (1) Å3 and Z=4, respectively. The structures along the c-axis, consist of layers of [Bi2O2] units separated by puckered sheets of (Nb/Ta)O6 octahedra. Photocatalytic studies on the degradation of dyes indicate selectivity of BiNbO4 towards aromatics containing quinonic and azo functional groups.  相似文献

Phase analytical investigations in the system magnesium-iridium-indium revealed the magnesium-rich intermetallics Ir3.30(1)Mg17.96(4)In0.74(4) and Ir3Mg17.1(1)In1.9(1). The samples were prepared from the elements via induction melting in glassy carbon crucibles in a water-cooled sample chamber and subsequent annealing. Both intermetallics were investigated by X-ray powder and single-crystal diffraction: C2/c, Z=4, a=979.1(1), b=2197.4(2), , β=105.79(1)°, wR2=0.0434, 3076 F2 values, 108 variables for Ir3.30(1)Mg17.96(4)In0.74(4), and a=983.39(8), b=2211.4(2), , β=105.757(6)°, wR2=0.0487, 3893 F2 values, and 115 variables for Ir3Mg17.1(1)In1.9(1). Both compounds show solid solutions. In Ir3.30(1)Mg17.96(4)In0.74(4), the indium site shows an occupancy by 69.9(4)% In+30.1(4)% Ir, and one magnesium site has a small mixed occupancy with indium, while nine atomic sites in Ir3Mg17.1(1)In1.9(1) show Mg/In mixing with indium occupancies between 1.2(3)% and 14.8(3)%. The relatively complex crystal structure is of a new type. It can be explained by a packing of coordination number 10 and 12 polyhedra around the iridium atoms. The crystal chemical peculiarities and chemical bonding in both intermetallics is briefly discussed.  相似文献

The rare earth-nickel-indides Tm2Ni1.896(4)In, Tm2.22(2)Ni1.81(1)In0.78(2), Tm4.83(3)Ni2In1.17(3), and Er5Ni2In were synthesized from the elements by arc-melting and subsequent annealing for the latter three compounds. Three indides were investigated by X-ray powder and single crystal diffraction: Mo2FeB2 type, P4/mbm, Z=2, a=731.08(4), c=358.80(3) pm, wR2=0.0201, 178 F2 values, 13 variables for Tm2Ni1.896(4)In, a=734.37(7), c=358.6(1) pm, wR2=0.0539, 262 F2 values, 14 variables for Tm2.22(2)Ni1.81(1)In0.78(2), and Mo5SiB2 type, I4/mcm, a=751.0(2), c=1317.1(3) pm, wR2=0.0751, 317 F2 values, 17 variables for Tm4.83(3)Ni2In1.17(3). X-ray powder data for Er5Ni2In revealed a=754.6(2) and c=1323.3(5) pm. The Mo2FeB2 type structures of Tm2Ni1.896(4)In and Tm2.22(2)Ni1.81(1)In0.78(2) are intergrowths of slightly distorted CsCl and AlB2 related slabs, however, with different crystal chemical features. The nickel sites within the AlB2 slabs are not fully occupied in both indides. Additionally In/Tm mixing is possible at the center of the CsCl slab, as is evident from the structure refinement of Tm2.22(2)Ni1.81(1)In0.78(2). The Mo5SiB2 type structures of Tm4.83(3)Ni2In1.17(3) and Er5Ni2In can be considered as an intergrowth of distorted CuAl2 and U3Si2 related slabs in an ABAB′ stacking sequence along the c-axis. Again, one thulium site shows Tm/In mixing. The U3Si2 related slab has great structural similarities with the Mo2FeB2 type structure of Tm2Ni1.896(4)In and Tm2.22(2)Ni1.81(1)In0.78(2). The crystal chemical peculiarities and chemical bonding in these intermetallics are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Strontium europium aluminum silicon nitride, Sr0.99Eu0.01AlSiN3, was synthesized by heating a mixture of binary nitrides at 2173 K and a N2 gas pressure of 190 MPa. Single crystals of Sr0.99Eu0.01AlSiN3 approximately 30 μm were obtained. The structure was confirmed to be an isotypic structure of CaAlSiN3 in the orthorhombic space group Cmc21, analyzed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The lattice parameters are a=9.843(3), b=5.7603(16), c=5.177(2) Å, cell volume=293.53(17) Å3. It shows an orange-red photoluminescence by 5d→4f transition of Eu2+ at around 610 nm under excitation ranging from ultraviolet to 525 nm. The photoluminescence intensity, temperature characteristics, and oxidative stability were comparable or superior to those of CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ phosphor.  相似文献

Two new ternary bismuth chalcogenides, Bi3In4S10 and Bi14.7In11.3S38, were synthesized from the reactions of binary sulfides via a two-step flux technique. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses indicate that Bi3In4S10 crystallizes in the non-centrosymmetric space group Pm and Bi14.7In11.3S38 crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group P21/m. Both compounds adopt three-dimensional frameworks. A distinct structural feature in the two structures is the presence of chains of Bi atoms with alternating short Bi-Bi bonds of around 3.1 Å and longer distances of around 4.6 Å. The optical band gaps of 1.42(2) eV for Bi3In4S10 and 1.45(2) eV for Bi14.7In11.3S38 were deduced from the diffuse reflectance spectra.  相似文献
