Clear evidence is presented for the production of an Ω1− resonance of mass 2253±13 MeV/c2 and width 81±38 MeV/c2 in Kp interactions at 11 GeV/c. The state is observed in the Ξ (1530)K̄ decay mode, and the corresponding inclusive cross section is estimated to be 630±180 nb. Comparisons are made with theoretical predictions and with similar states observed inhyperon beam induced data.  相似文献

The results of a partial wave analysis of the low mass KK̄π system produced in the reactions Kp→K0sK±π±Λ at 11 GeV/c using the LASS spectrometer are presented. Evidence is given for two ss̄ axial-vector meson states: one with quantum numbers JPC = 1++, mass ∼ 1530 MeV/c2, and width ∼ 100 MeV/c2, and the other with quantum numbers JPC=1+−, mass ∼ 1380 MeV/c2, and width ∼ 80 MeV/c2. These states are good candidates to be the mostly strangeonium members of the ground state 1++ and 1+− nonets predicted by the quark model.  相似文献

The differential cross section for K±p elastic scattering has been measured in the very low t region (0.003 < t < 0.2 GeV2) in a wire chamber spectrometer experiment at 10.4 and 14 GeV/c. The interference effect observed between the Coulomb and the nuclear interaction has been used to determine α, the ratio of real to imaginary part of the forward scattering amplitude. At 10.4 GeV/c we measure α(K+p) = ?0.21 ± 0.06 and α(K?p = 0.08 ± 0.04, and at 14 GeV/c, α(K+p) = ? 0.13 ± 0.03 and α(K?p) = 0.000 ± 0.04 in agreeement with the predictions of dispersion theory calculation.  相似文献

The invariant cross-section slope of the pp→π+π?+X process as a function of pT is found to have a break near 1 GeV/c. Fitting the cross section by a sum of two exponents gives the values of powers (12.3±0.9)(GeV/c)?1 and (8.7±0.6)(GeV/c)?1. The experimental points at pT?1 GeV/c are significantly higher than predictions based on hard scattering models such as QCD and CIM.  相似文献

In a re-analysis of large-angle π±p elastic scattering cross-sections at 5 GeV/c the data were divided in two momentum bins separated by approximately 80 MeV/c. For π±p the differential cross-sections are found to fluctuate considerably between the two momentum bins, whereas for π?p no fluctuations are observed. The result is interpreted as possible evidence for Ericson fluctuations.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for π?p and pp elastic scattering have been measured at incident momenta ranging from 30 to 345 GeV and in the t range 0.002 (GeV/c)2 ? |t| ? 0.04 (GeV/c)2. From the analysis of the data, the ratio ? (t = 0) of the real to the imaginary parts of the forward scattering amplitude was determined together with the logarithmic slope b of the diffraction cone.The results on the real parts confirm the validity of the forward dispersion relations at high energies. Using the dispersion relations, it was shown that the experimental data on ?π?p(t = 0) require a continuous rise of the total πp cross sections, at least up to the energy of 2000 GeV, thus revealing a close similarity in high-energy behaviour of πp and pp interactions.The results on the slope parameters from this experiment together with the analysis of the available world data demonstrate that the existing experimental data are consistent with the hypothesis of a universal shrinkage of the hadronic diffraction cone at high energies. The value of the asymptotic shrinkage parameter αp was found to be independent of the kind of the incident hadron and of the momentum transfer in the t range |t| ? 0.2 (GeV/c)2 : 2αp = ± 3 (GeV/c)?2.  相似文献

The mass spectra of theω π 0 system, produced inπ ? p charge-exchange reactions at 38 GeV/c and 100 GeV/c, show a new neutral state with a mass of 2200±20 MeV and a width of 260±50 MeV. Likeρ 3(1690), this meson,X(2200), is produced through one-pion-exchange.X(2200)J PC is likely 1??. It might be a 23 D 1 radial-orbital excitation ofρ 0. Its production cross section falls with energy quadratically, in agreement with one-pion-exchange. The cross sections forb 1(1235) andρ 3(1690) production have also been measured; their energy dependences have been determined.  相似文献

In a search for resonances coupled to the p? system, we have studied π?p interactions at 16 GeV/c giving a forward antiproton, using the Omega spectrometer at CERN. In the final states involving a p, p and π? we observe a 5.6 (6.3) standard deviation enhancement in the p? mass spectrum at (2.95 ± 0.01) GeV with a width consistent with the resolution (σ = 15 MeV). The production cross section × branching ratio is estimated to be of the order 1 μb. The data are consistent with a resonance decaying partly via intermediate pp final states.  相似文献

Along with ?? 0 and ?? mesons, a resonance structure in the invariant mass spectrum of two photons atM ??? = 360 ± 7 ± 9 MeV is observed in dC interactions at momentum 2.75 GeV/c per nucleon. This resonance structure is not observed in pC collisions at the beam momentum 5.5 GeV/c. The result obtained in the reaction dC is confirmed by the second experiment carried out on the deuteron beam at momentum 3.83 GeV/c per nucleon with a copper target. A narrow meson which decays into ηη is observed in 38 GeV/c πp collisions at large momentum transfer. The experiment has been performed at the Serpukhov accelerator with the GAMS-2000 spectrometer. The mass of this new meson is (1755 ± 8) MeV, its width is less than 50 MeV. Its spin-parity is JPC=0++ or less probably 2++.  相似文献

Results are presented of a bubble chamber experiment on K?p elastic scattering at 14.3 GeV/c, in four-momentum transfer range 0.04 < |t| < 2.74 GeV2 using an initial set of 40 000 events. The total elastic cross section is (2.96 ± 0.10) mb. The results are compared with K+p elastic scattering data at 13.8 GeV/c, and the effective Regge trajectory is calculated using K?p data from 5 to 100 GeV/c.  相似文献

The invariant mass spectrum of neutral meson states from π?p interactions at 40 GeV/c incident momentum has been investigated in a high statistics experiment performed at the 70 GeV IHEP accelerator. To detect the high energy photons coming from the produced neutral states, a hodoscope spectrometer with a computer on-line was used. A clear structure on the mass spectrum of dipions produced in the reaction π?p→π°π°n is observed at 2 GeV. The decay angular distributions show in this mass region the variation with mass typical of a state with a spin J = 4. The mass of the observed meson is found to be M = (2020±30)MeV and the estimate of the full width is (180±60) MeV.  相似文献

A partial-wave analysis of the ω ωπ0-system produced in the π- p→ωπ0 n reaction at 38 GeV/c beam momentum has been performed. A new 5?- meson state,ρ 5(22350), with a massM=2330±35 MeV and a width Γ=400±100 MeV, is observed. The analysis also confirms the 1?- ρ(2150) meson, a radial-orbital excitation of the ρ(770), observed earlier by the GAMS Collaboration.  相似文献

We calculate the momentum-dependent potentials for K+ and K mesons in a dispersion approach at nuclear density ϱ0 using the information from the vacuum K+N and KN scattering amplitudes, however, leaving out the resonance contributions for the in-medium analysis. Whereas the K+ potential is found to be repulsive (≈ + 25 MeV) and to show only a moderate momentum dependence, the K self-energy at normal nuclear matter density turns out to be ≈ − 140 ± 25 MeV at zero momentum roughly in line with K atomic data, however, decreases rapidly in magnitude for higher momenta. The antikaon production in p + A reactions is calculated within a coupled channel transport approach and compared to the data at KEK including different assumptions for the antikaon potentials. Furthermore, detailed predictions are made for p+12C and p+207Pb reactions at 2.5 GeV in order to determine the momentum-dependent antikaon potential experimentally.  相似文献

Inclusive π0 and η production at large transverse momentum were studied in both p̄p and pp interactions at √s = 24.3 GeV. The experiment was performed using an internal molecular hydrogen gas jet target in the CERN SPS collider. No significant differences between production in p̄p and pp were observed in the transverse momentum range 2.5 < PT < 5.1 GeV/c.  相似文献

The differential cross sections for π+p elastic scattering at0.6, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, GeV/c for π-p at 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 GeV/c, for K-p at 1.2, 1.8, 2.6 GeV/c and for K-p at 0.9, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.6 GeV/c have been measured with an overall accuracy ofthe order of 1 to 2% in an electronics experiment over the angular region corresponding to momentum transfer t between 0.0005 and 0.10 GeV2. Making use of the interference effects between the Coulomb and the nuclear interaction, we have determined the magnitude and sign of the real part of the scattering amplitude near t = 0. The K±p real parts have been used in a dispersion relation to derive the value of the KNΛ coupling constant.  相似文献

Direct photons have been studied in pp̄ interactions at √s = 24.3 GeV and in the transverse momentum (pT) range 3–7 GeV/c(0.25 < xT < 0.58). We have measured 618 K+p → π+KS0p events at 12.7 GeV/c incident lab momentum, mass range 790 ? mπ+Ks0 ? 990 MeV and t range 0.01 ? ?t ? 0.60 (GeV/c)2. The π+KS0 mass spectrum is dominated by the K1+ (892) resonance and a Breit-Wigner fit yields a mass m = 893.5 ± 1.1 MeV and a width Γ = 33.2 ± 4.1 MeV which is much narrower than measured hitherto. The t distribution of K1+ (892) events shows a dip in the forward direction and an exponential fall off thereafter, consistent with dominance of helicity flip amplitudes. The spin density matrix is almost saturated by ρ11 and ρ1?1 which are very close to their maximum allowed value of 12 throughout the measured t range except in the very forward direction where ρ00 and Re ρ10 deviate from zero. Natural parity exchanges, therefore, dominate with unnatural parity exchanges being restricted to a small region in the forward direction. A Regge pole analysis of the differential cross sections of the present measurement in conjunction with previously measured total cross sections supports the f-coupled-pomeron hypothesis.  相似文献

The pronounced dip-bump structure with a sharp minimum at |t| = 1.5 (GeV/c)2, recently observed in elastic pp scattering at PL = 50 GeV/c at the CERN SPS, is explained by the quark multiple scattering model with a realistic wavefunction for the proton and the antiproton. It is predicted that a second dip will appear around |t| = 7 (GeV/c)2 at PL = 50 GeV/ c and at higher energies.  相似文献
