In this work, we report 1064 nm laser emission in Nd:YVO4 channel waveguides fabricated by carbon implantation. Typical threshold pump powers (∼808 nm) were ≥45 mW. Maximum conversion
efficiency was 11.5% (29.6% slope efficiency), and up to 9 mW of signal was delivered. Sample lengths of 4 mm were sufficient
to completely absorb the pump power. The special spectral characteristics of this material such as broad absorption band and
superior cross sections compared to the YAG crystal makes it suitable for developing compact sources to be integrated in optoelectronic

We present a comparative analysis on the growth, the spectroscopic features, and the cw laser action of room-temperature Yb(5%):LiYF4 (YLF) and Yb(10%):KYF4 (KYF) crystals. Optical slope efficiencies of 33% and 52% have been demonstrated for Yb:YLF and Yb:KYF crystals, respectively.
A remarkable wide wavelength tunability from 1.01 to 1.07 μm has been obtained for both laser crystals. 相似文献

The absorption spectra, fluorescence spectrum and fluorescence decay curve of Nd3+ ions in CaNb2O6 crystal were measured at room temperature. The peak absorption cross section was calculated to be 6.202×10−20 cm2 with a broad FWHM of 7 nm at 808 nm for E//a light polarization. The spectroscopic parameters of Nd3+ ions in CaNb2O6 crystal have been investigated based on Judd-Ofelt theory. The parameters of the line strengths Ω

The structure transformation occurring in fullerene film under bombardment by 50 keV C60+ cluster ions is reported. The Raman spectra of the irradiated C60 films reveal a new peak rising at 1458 cm−1 with an increase in the ion fluence. This feature of the Raman spectra suggests linear polymerization of solid C60 induced by the cluster ion impacts. The aligned C60 polymeric chains composing about 5–10 fullerene molecules have been distinguished on the film surface after the high-fluence
irradiation using atomic force microscopy (AFM). The surface profiling analysis of the irradiated films has revealed pronounced
sputtering during the treatment. The obtained results indicate that the C60 polymerization occurs in a deep layer situated more than 40 nm below the film surface. The deep location of the C60 polymeric phase indirectly confirms the dominant role of shock waves in the detected C60 phase transformation. 相似文献

This paper reports on the spectroscopy properties, absorption and luminescence, of Cr3+ ions in singly doped, ZnO-codoped, and Zn in-diffused LiNbO3:Cr crystals. In addition to the broad absorption, inter-ionic transitions ascribed to Cr3+ ions located in Li+ and Nb5+ sites; [Cr]Li and [Cr]Nb centres two absorption bands at higher energy are reported and ascribed to the charge transfer transitions of the Cr3+ ions of the two defect centres.
The charge transfer transitions are used as optical probe to study the role of the Zn ions in the Zn in-diffused LiNbO3:Cr samples. It has been observed that the Zn-in-diffused processes created [Cr]Nb centres in the diffusion zone. The location of the diffused Zn2+ ions is considered to be in Li+ site, displacing the Cr3+ ions from the Li+ sites, [Cr]Li, to the Nb5+ positions, [Cr]Nb. 相似文献

A novel europium complex Eu(TTA)3(CPPO)2 (1) (TTA=thenoyltrifluoroacetone, CPPO=9-[4-(diphenyl-phosphinoyl)-phenyl]-9H-carbazole) based on the phosphine oxide ligand
with bipolar structure was used to fabricate double-layer devices. The strong hole injection and transport ability of 1 was proved. The luminance of 414 cd m−2 was achieved with the device configuration ITO/Eu(TTA)3(CPPO)2(40 nm)/BCP (30 nm)/Mg:Ag (BCP = 2, 9-dimethyl-4, 7-diphenyl-1, 10-phenanthroline), which is favorable among double-layer
organic light emitting devices based on small molecular Eu3+ complexes. The maximum current efficiency of 2.44 cd A−1 and external quantum efficiency of 1.55% demonstrate the potential application of 1 as a promising candidate for high-efficiency, simple-structure and pure red-emitting devices. 相似文献

Electron beam induced deposition was performed using a Pt(PF3)4 precursor gas. Self-standing nanowires were produced on the edge of a molybdenum film, followed by two post-deposition processes;
electron beam irradiation at room temperature and heating at about 400 K in vacuum. The as-deposited nanowires were composed
of an amorphous phase, of which the dominant composition was platinum but containing a small amount of phosphorus impurity.
After irradiating with a 300 keV electron beam, the amorphous nanowires were transformed to crystalline ones. By heating,
the as-deposited nanowires became single-crystal platinum with a large grain size and the phosphorus content disappeared. 相似文献

Original results on investigation of the photorefractive effect in straight channels and integrated-optical circuits such
as a directional coupler, Y-splitter and Mach–Zehnder interferometer, exploiting titanium-indiffused and proton-exchanged
LiNbO3 waveguides, are presented. It has been found that the photorefractive damage is non-negligible for IR radiation with wavelengths
near 1.5 μm in all circuits studied. The new methods for accurate evaluation of small extents of photorefractive effect are

Spectrally selective splitters with metal-dielectric-metal (MDM) subwavelength waveguides are proposed in this paper. The
method is based on the Bragg grating structure with periodically modulated MDM waveguide width, which delivers a stop band
effect for the surface plasmon propagating in the waveguide. By adding appropriate Bragg grating structure in one or more
arms of the waveguide splitters, light in a certain frequency range can be readily guided into the desired directions, as
demonstrated numerically by the finite-difference time-domain method. Dependence and optimization of the geometrical parameters

Ferroelectric and dielectric properties of bilayered ferroelectric thin films, SrBi4Ti4O15 grown on Bi4Ti3O12, were investigated. The thin films were annealed at 700°C under oxygen atmosphere. The bilayered thin films were prepared
on a Pt(111)/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate by a chemical solution deposition method. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the bilayered thin
films were 645 and 0.09, respectively, at 100 kHz. The value of remnant polarization (2P
r) measured from the ferroelectric thin film capacitors was 60.5 μC/cm2 at electric field of 200 kV/cm. The remnant polarization was reduced by 22% of the initial value after 1010 switching cycles. The results showed that the ferroelectric and dielectric properties of the SrBi4Ti4O15 on Bi4Ti3O12 ferroelectric thin films were better than those of the SrBi4Ti4O15 grown on a Pt-coated Si substrate suggesting that the improved properties may be due to the different nucleation and growth
kinetics of SrBi4Ti4O15 on the c-axis-oriented Bi4Ti3O12 layer or on the Pt-coated Si substrate. 相似文献

Several weak absorption bands have been observed in the optical absorption spectra of pure and rare-earth-doped YAl3(BO3)4 single crystals in the 3350– 3650 cm−1 wave number region. Two of them, peaking at about 3377 cm−1 and 3580 cm−1 in the 8 K spectra, appear in most of the samples. They are tentatively attributed to the stretching mode of OH− ions incorporated in the crystal during the growth. An additional absorption band at about 5250 cm−1 at 8 K has also been detected in almost all samples. The temperature and polarization dependences of these bands, and their

Lithium terbium molybdate (LiTb(MoO4)2) single crystal was grown by the Czochralski method. The lattice parameters of the crystal were determined by X-ray diffraction
analysis. The absorption coefficient and the Faraday rotation spectrum (B=1.07 T) were investigated at wavelengths of 400–1500 nm at room temperature. Verdet constants of LiTb(MoO4)2 crystal at 532-, 633- and 1064-nm wavelengths were measured by the extinction method. The results show that LiTb(MoO4)2 crystal has a larger magneto-optical figure of merit than that of terbium gallium garnet at wavelengths of 600–1500 nm. 相似文献

Upconversion luminescence in triply ionized praseodymium-doped TeO2–Li2O glass using excitation at ∼590 nm into the 1D2 level from a dye laser pumped with the second harmonic of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser has been reported. The mechanism involved
in the upconversion emission observed at ∼480 nm indicates that the most important contribution is energy transfer among praseodymium
ions in pairs followed by the dipole–dipole interaction. The rate-equation model for the emission at ∼480 nm that provides
direct information to determine the energy-transfer rates containing the pair of states involved in the upconversion process

170Yb M?ssbauer spectroscopy, temperature dependent X-ray,
magnetisation and specific heat data are presented in the hexagonal
intermetallic YbAl3C3, in order to shed light on the isostructural
transition occurring near 80 K and
to investigate the electronic state of the Yb ion above and below the
transition. In the low temperature phase, we find that there occurs an atomic
rearrangement in the hexagonal unit cell, leading to a strong symmetry
lowering at the Yb site. We show that no magnetic ordering of the Yb3+
moments occurs down to 0.04 K, and we discuss this finding in terms of

We report on monitoring of nitric oxide (NO) traces in human breath via infrared cavity leak-out spectroscopy. Using a CO
sideband laser near 5 μm wavelength and an optical cavity with two high-reflectivity mirrors (R=99.98%), the minimum detectable absorption is 2×10−10 cm−1 Hz1/2. This allows for spectroscopic analysis of rare NO isotopologues with unprecedented sensitivity. Application to simultaneous
online detection of 14NO and 15NO in breath samples collected in the nasal cavity is described for the first time. We achieved a noise-equivalent detection
limit of 7 parts per trillion for nasal 15NO (integration time: 70 s). 相似文献

The generation of periodically poled structures in waveguides prepared by swift-heavy-ion (SHI) irradiation, i.e. in the electronic
stopping power regime, has been achieved following two different strategies. In one of them we have prepared bulk PPLN samples
by an applied electrical field, followed by irradiation with F ions at 22 MeV. After the ion irradiation, a waveguide showing
a high optical confinement is obtained, preserving the original PPLN structure. The second strategy consisted of electric
periodic poling of previously fabricated swift-ion-irradiated waveguides. To our knowledge this method has not been, so far,
successful for conventional implanted waveguides. The successful fabrication of PPLN structures on novel waveguides prepared
by SHI irradiation offers a promising potential for nonlinear integrated optical devices. 相似文献
