In this paper, the global existence and the large time behavior of smooth solutions to the initial boundary value problem for the multi-dimensional energy transport model are studied. It is also proved that the solutions of the problem converge to an isothermal drift-diffusion model as energy relaxation time τ goes to 0 by compactness argument with the help of energy estimates and entropy inequality.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to studying a class of solutions to the nonlinear Boltzmann equation having infinite kinetic energy, these solutions have an upper Maxwellian bound with infinite kinetic energy. Firstly, the existence and stability of this kind of solutions are established near vacuum. Secondly, it is proved that this kind of solutions are stable for any initial data, as a consequence, the Boltzmann equation has at most one solution with infinite kinetic energy. Finally, the long time behavior of the solutions is also established.  相似文献

We analyze the well-posedness of the initial value problem for the generalized micropolar fluid system in a space of tempered distributions and also prove the existence of the stationary solutions. The asymptotic stability of solutions is showed in this space, and as a consequence, a criterium for vanishing small perturbations of initial data (stationary solution) at large time is obtained. A fast decay of the solutions is obtained when we assume more regularity on the initial data.  相似文献

In this note,we present a framework for the large time behavior of general uniformly bounded weak entropy solutions to the Cauchy problem of Euler-Poisson system of semiconductor devices.It is shown that the solutions converges to the stationary solutions exponentially in time.No smallness and regularity conditions are assumed.  相似文献

In this article, two relaxation time limits, namely, the momentum relaxation time limit and the energy relaxation time limit are considered. By the compactness argument, it is obtained that the smooth solutions of the multidimensional nonisentropic Euler-Poisson problem converge to the solutions of an energy transport model or a drift diffusion model, respectively, with respect to different time scales.  相似文献

Decisions concerning a project’s expedition, traditionally involved considerations regarding time and cost tradeoff. It was recently suggested that the quality of a project should also be taken into considerations. In this paper, we propose a meta-heuristic solution procedure for the discrete time, cost and quality tradeoff problem. This problem involves the scheduling of project activities in order to minimize the total cost of the project while maximizing the quality of the project and also meeting a given deadline. We apply a so called electromagnetic scatter search to solve this problem. In this process, we initially generate a population of feasible solutions. In so doing, we use frequency memory to well sample the feasible region. A number of these solutions are then selected and improved locally. The improved solutions are then combined to generate new set of solutions. The combination process utilizes attraction–repulsion mechanisms borrowed from the electromagnetism theory. The whole process is stopped when no significant improvement in the set of solutions are observed. The validity of the proposed solution procedure is demonstrated, and its applicability is tested on a randomly generated large and complex problem having 19,900 activities.  相似文献

In earlier literature, a version of a classical three‐species food chain model, with modified Holling type IV functional response, is proposed. Results on the global boundedness of solutions to the model system under certain parametric restrictions are derived, and chaotic dynamics is shown. We prove that in fact the model possesses explosive instability, and solutions can explode/blow up in finite time, for certain initial conditions, even under the parametric restrictions of the literature. Furthermore, we derive the Hopf bifurcation criterion, route to chaos, and Turing bifurcation in case of the spatially explicit model. Lastly, we propose, analyze, and simulate a version of the model, incorporating gestation effect, via an appropriate time delay. We consider a class of L 1 critical nonlocal aggregation equations with linear or nonlinear porous media-type diffusion which are characterized by a long-range interaction potential that decays faster than the Newtonian potential at infinity. The fast decay breaks the L 1 scaling symmetry and we prove that all ‘sufficiently spread out’ initial data, even with supercritical mass, results in global, decaying solutions. In particular, we produce decaying solutions with arbitrary mass in cases for which finite time blow up solutions or non-decaying solutions are also known to exist for sufficiently large mass. This is in contrast to the classical parabolic-elliptic PKS for which essentially all solutions with supercritical mass blow up in finite time. The results with linear diffusion are proved using properties of the Fokker-Planck semi-group whereas the results with nonlinear diffusion are proved using a more interesting bootstrap argument coupling the entropy-entropy dissipation methods of the porous media equation together with higher L p estimates similar to those used in small-data and local theory for PKS-type equations.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the smoothness (in the sense of Meyer- Watanabe) of the local times of Gaussian random fields. Sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence and smoothness of the local times, collision local times, and self-intersection local times are established for a large class of Gaussian random fields, including fractional Brownian motions, fractional Brownian sheets and solutions of stochastic heat equations driven by space-time Gaussian noise.  相似文献

We consider a two-stage supply chain with a production facility that replenishes a single product at retailers. The objective is to locate distribution centers in the network such that the sum of facility location, pipeline inventory, and safety stock costs is minimized. We explicitly model the relationship between the flows in the network, lead times, and safety stock levels. We use genetic algorithms to solve the model and compare their performance to that of a Lagrangian heuristic developed in earlier work. A novel chromosome representation that combines binary vectors with random keys provides solutions of similar quality to those from the Lagrangian heuristic. The model is then extended to incorporate arbitrary demand variance at the retailers. This modification destroys the structure upon which the Lagrangian heuristic is based, but is easily incorporated into the genetic algorithm. The genetic algorithm yields significantly better solutions than a greedy heuristic for this modification and has reasonable computational requirements.  相似文献

For the M/M/1 queue in the presence of catastrophes the transition probabilities, densities of the busy period and of the catastrophe waiting time are determined. A heavy-traffic approximation to this discrete model is then derived. This is seen to be equivalent to a Wiener process subject to randomly occurring jumps for which some analytical results are obtained. The goodness of the approximation is discussed by comparing the closed-form solutions obtained for the continuous process with those obtained for the M/M/1 catastrophized queue.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the evolution of Lions’s weak solutions to the inhomogeneous Navier–Stokes equations. After proving that the kinetic energy is eventually bounded, we obtain a weakly compact global attractor that all Lions’s weak solutions approach as time tends to infinity. Furthermore, the existence of attracting sets in strong topology is established for short trajectories satisfying an additional compactness condition on the density.  相似文献

The finite time blow-up of solutions to a nonlinear Timoshenko-type equation with variable exponents is studied. More concretely, we prove that the solutions blow up in finite time with positive initial energy. Also, the existence of finite time blow-up solutions with arbitrarily high initial energy is established. Meanwhile, the upper and lower bounds of the blow-up time are derived. These results deepen and generalize the ones obtained in [Nonlinear Anal. Real World Appl., 61: Paper No. 103341, 2021].  相似文献
