In this paper, by incorporating latencies for both human beings and female mosquitoes to the mosquito‐borne diseases model, we investigate a class of multi‐group dengue disease model and study the impacts of heterogeneity and latencies on the spread of infectious disease. Dynamical properties of the multi‐group model with distributed delays are established. The results showthat the global asymptotic stability of the disease‐free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium depends only on the basic reproduction number. Our proofs for global stability of equilibria use the classical method of Lyapunov functions and the graph‐theoretic approach for large‐scale delay systems. On the basis of a basic SIR epidemic model, we propose and study an epidemic model with nonlinear incidence. The model also incorporates many features of the recovered such as relapse and with/without immunity. A threshold dynamics is established, which is completely determined by the basic reproduction number. The global stability of the disease‐free equilibrium is proved by means of the fluctuation lemma. To prove the global stability of the endemic equilibrium, we need some novel techniques including the transformation of variables, the construction of a new type of Lyapunov functions, and the seeking of an appropriate positively invariant set of the model.  相似文献

In this paper, two susceptible‐infected‐susceptible epidemic models with varying total population size, continuous vaccination, and state‐dependent pulse vaccination are formulated to describe the transmission of infectious diseases, such as diphtheria, measles, rubella, pertussis, and so on. The first model incorporates the proportion of infected individuals in population as monitoring threshold value; we analytically show the existence and orbital asymptotical stability of positive order‐1 periodic solution for this control model. The other model determines control strategy by monitoring the proportion of susceptible individuals in population; we also investigate the existence and global orbital asymptotical stability of the disease‐free periodic solution. Theoretical results imply that the disease dies out in the second case. Finally, using realistic parameter values, we carry out some numerical simulations to illustrate the main theoretical results and the feasibility of state‐dependent pulse control strategy.  相似文献

In this paper, a delayed Susceptible‐Exposed‐Infectious‐Susceptible (SEIS) infectious disease model with logistic growth and saturation incidence is investigated, where the time delay describes the latent period of the disease. By analyzing corresponding characteristic equations, the local stability of a disease‐free equilibrium and an endemic equilibrium is discussed. The existence of Hopf bifurcations at the endemic equilibrium is established. By using the persistence theory for infinite dimensional dynamic systems, it is proved that if the basic reproduction number is greater than unity, the system is permanent. By means of suitable Lyapunov functionals and LaSalle's invariance principle, sufficient conditions are obtained for the global stability of the disease‐free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium, respectively. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the theoretical results. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A five‐dimensional ordinary differential equation model describing the transmission of Toxoplamosis gondii disease between human and cat populations is studied in this paper. Self‐diffusion modeling the spatial dynamics of the T. gondii disease is incorporated in the ordinary differential equation model. The normalized version of both models where the unknown functions are the proportions of the susceptible, infected, and controlled individuals in the total population are analyzed. The main results presented herein are that the ODE model undergoes a trans‐critical bifurcation, the system has no periodic orbits inside the positive octant, and the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable when we restrict the model to inside of the first octant. Furthermore, a local linear stability analysis for the spatially homogeneous equilibrium points of the reaction diffusion model is carried out, and the global stability of both the disease‐free and endemic equilibria are established for the reaction–diffusion system when restricted to inside of the first octant. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to support our theoretical results and to predict some scenarios about the spread of the disease. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, an eco‐epidemiological model with Holling type‐III functional response and a time delay representing the gestation period of the predators is investigated. In the model, it is assumed that the predator population suffers a transmissible disease. The disease basic reproduction number is obtained. By analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations, the local stability of each of feasible equilibria and the existence of Hopf bifurcations at the disease‐free equilibrium and the endemic‐coexistence equilibrium are established, respectively. By using the persistence theory on infinite dimensional systems, it is proved that if the disease basic reproduction number is greater than unity, the system is permanent. By means of Lyapunov functionals and LaSalle's invariance principle, sufficient conditions are obtained for the global stability of the endemic‐coexistence equilibrium, the disease‐free equilibrium and the predator‐extinction equilibrium of the system, respectively. In this paper, a stage‐structured SI epidemic model with time delay and nonlinear incidence rate is investigated. By analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations, the local stability of an endemic equilibrium and a disease‐free equilibrium, and the existence of Hopf bifurcations are established. By comparison arguments, it is proved that if the basic reproduction number is less than unity, the disease‐free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. If the basic reproduction number is greater than unity, by means of an iteration technique, sufficient conditions are obtained for the global asymptotic stability of the endemic equilibrium. In this paper, we propose a host‐vector model for malaria transmission by incorporating infection age in the infected host population and nonlinear incidence for transmission from infectious vectors to susceptible hosts. One novelty of the model is that the recovered hosts only have temporary immunity and another is that successfully recovered infected hosts may become susceptible immediately. Firstly, the existence and local stability of equilibria is studied. Secondly, rigorous mathematical analyses on technical materials and necessary arguments, including asymptotic smoothness and uniform persistence of the system, are given. Thirdly, by applying the fluctuation lemma and the approach of Lyapunov functionals, the threshold dynamics of the model for a special case were established. Roughly speaking, the disease‐free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable when the basic reproduction number is less than one and otherwise the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable when no reinfection occurs. It is shown that the infection age and nonlinear incidence not only impact on the basic reproduction number but also could affect the values of the endemic steady state. Numerical simulations were performed to support the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the global dynamics of the S(E)IS model with delays denoting an incubation time. By constructing a Lyapunov functional, we prove stability of a disease‐free equilibrium E0 under a condition different from that in the recent paper. Then we claim that R0≤1 is a necessary and sufficient condition under which E0 is globally asymptotically stable. We also propose a discrete model preserving positivity and global stability of the same equilibria as the continuous model with distributed delays, by means of discrete analogs of the Lyapunov functional.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a mathematical model to study the dynamics of anorexic and bulimic populations. The model proposed takes into account, among other things, the effects of peers' influence, media influence, and education. We prove the existence of three possible equilibria that without media influences are disease‐free, bulimic‐endemic, and endemic. Neglecting media and education effects, we investigate the stability of such equilibria, and we prove that under the influence of media, only one of such equilibria persists and becomes a global attractor. Which of the three equilibria becomes global attractor depends on the other parameters. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We propose and analyze a recurrent epidemic model of cholera in the presence of bacteriophage. The model is extended by general periodic incidence functions for low‐infectious bacterium and high‐infectious bacterium, respectively. A general periodic shedding function for two infected class (phage‐positive and phage‐negative) and a generalized contact and intrinsic growth function for susceptible class are also considered. Under certain biological assumptions, we derive the basic reproduction number (R0) in a periodic environment for the proposed model. We also observe the global stability of the disease‐free equilibrium, existence, permanence, and global stability of the positive endemic periodic solution of our proposed model. Finally, we verify our results with specific functional form. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, a stochastic SEIS epidemic model with a saturation incidence rate and a time delay describing the latent period of the disease is investigated. The model inherits the endemic steady state from its corresponding deterministic counterpart. We first show the existence and uniqueness of the global positive solution of the model. Then, by constructing Lyapunov functionals, we derive sufficient conditions ensuring the stochastic stability of the endemic steady state. Numerical simulations are carried out to confirm our analytical results. Furthermore, our simulation results shows that the existence of noise and delay may cause the endemic steady state to be unstable.  相似文献

Control of epidemic infections is a very urgent issue today. To develop an appropriate strategy for vaccinations and effectively prevent the disease from arising and spreading, we proposed a modified Susceptible‐Infected‐Removed model with impulsive vaccinations. For the model without vaccinations, we proved global stability of one of the steady states depending on the basic reproduction number R0. As typically in the epidemic models, the threshold value of R0 is 1. If R0 is greater than 1, then the positive steady state called endemic equilibrium exists and is globally stable, whereas for smaller values of R0, it does not exist, and the semi‐trivial steady state called disease‐free equilibrium is globally stable. Using impulsive differential equation comparison theorem, we derived sufficient conditions under which the infectious disease described by the considered model disappears ultimately. The analytical results are illustrated by numerical simulations for Hepatitis B virus infection that confirm the theoretical possibility of the infection elimination because of the proper vaccinations policy. In this paper, a general class of impulsive delayed switched systems is considered. By employing the Lyapunov–Razumikhin method and some analysis techniques, we established several global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability criteria for the considered impulsive delayed switched systems, which improve and extend some recent works. As an application, the result of global exponential stability are used to study a class of uncertain linear switched systems with time‐varying delays. Several LMI‐based conditions are proposed to guarantee the global robust stability and global exponential stabilization. The designed memoryless state feedback controller can be easily checked by the LMI toolbox in Matlab. Moreover, the dwell time constraint is imposed for the switching law. Finally, two numerical examples and their simulations are given to show the effectiveness of our proposed results. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

An epidemic model on the basis of therapy of chronic Hepatitis B with antivirus treatment was introduced in this paper. By applying a comparison theorem and analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations, we obtain sufficient conditions on the parameters for the global stability of the disease-free state. It's proved that if the basic reproduction number \(R_0 < 1\) , the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. If \(R_0 > 1\), the disease-free equilibrium is unstable and the disease is uniformly permanent. Moreover, if \(R_0 > 1\), sufficient conditions are obtained for the global stability of the endemic equilibrium.  相似文献

In this paper, a SIR model with two delays and general nonlinear incidence rate is considered. The local and global asymptotical stabilities of the disease‐free equilibrium are given. The local asymptotical stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcations at the endemic equilibrium are also established by analyzing the distribution of the characteristic values. Furthermore, the sufficient conditions for the permanence of the system are given. Some numerical simulations to support the analytical conclusions are carried out. At last, some conclusions are given. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We analyze an ideal transmission line, which is defined by the telegraph equation with variable coefficients, from the perspectives of numerical analysis and control theory in this note. Because the spatially semi-discrete scheme of the original system is insufficient for discussing uniform exponential stability, we apply a similar transform to the continuous system and produce an intermediate system that may be easily analyzed. To begin, we discuss uniform exponential stability for the intermediate system using an so called average central-difference semi-discrete scheme and the direct Lyapunov function approach. The proof is the same as in the continuous case. The Trotter-Kato Theorem is used to demonstrate the stability and consistency of numerical approximation scheme. Finally, we propose a semi-discrete strategy for the original system through an inverse transform. All results on intermediate system are then translated into the original system. The numerical state reconstruction problem is addressed as an essential application of the main results. Furthermore, several numerical simulations are used to validate the effectiveness of the numerical approximating algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a multi-species Lotka–Volterra type competitive system with delays and feedback controls. A general criteria on the permanence is established, which is described by integral form and independent of feedback controls. By constructing suitable Lyapunov functionals, a set of easily verifiable sufficient conditions are derived for global stability of any positive solution to the model.  相似文献
