In this article, a closed-form solution for one-dimensional magnetothermoelastic problem in a functionally graded material (FGM) hollow sphere placed in uniform magnetic and temperature fields subjected to an internal pressure is obtained using the infinitesimal theory of magnetothermoelasticity. Hyper-geometric functions are employed to solve the governing equation. The material properties through the graded direction are assumed to be nonlinear with an exponential distribution. The nonhomogeneity of the material in the radial direction is assumed to be exponential. The temperature, displacement and stress fields and the perturbation of magnetic field vector are determined and compared with those of the homogeneous case. Hence, the effect of inhomogeneity on the stresses and the perturbation of magnetic field vector distribution are demonstrated. The results of this study are applicable for designing optimum FGM hollow spheres.  相似文献

This paper presents a theoretical method for analyzing magnetothermoelastic responses and perturbation of the magnetic field vector in a conducting non-homogeneous thermoelastic cylinder subjected to thermal shock. By making use of finite Hankle integral transforms the analytical expressions for magnetothermodynamic stress and perturbation response of an axial magnetic field vector in the non-homogeneous cylinder are obtained. From sample numerical calculations both magnetothermostress and perturbation of the axial magnetic field vector in a non-homogeneous cylinder is revealed and discussed.  相似文献

Analytical studies for magnetoelastic behavior of functionally graded material (FGM) cylindrical and spherical vessels placed in a uniform magnetic field, subjected to internal pressure are presented. Exact solutions for displacement, stress and perturbation of magnetic field vector in FGM cylindrical and spherical vessels are determined by using the infinitesimal theory of magnetoelasticity. The material stiffness and magnetic permeability obeying a simple power law are assumed to vary through the wall thickness and Poisson’s ratio is assumed constant. Stresses and perturbation of magnetic field vector distributions depending on an inhomogeneous constant are compared with those of the homogeneous case and presented in the form of graphs. The inhomogeneous constant, which includes continuously varying volume fraction of the constituents, is empirically determined. The values used in this study are arbitrary chosen to demonstrate the effect of inhomogeneity on stresses and perturbation of magnetic field vector distributions.  相似文献

This paper presents an analytical solution for the interaction of electric potentials, electric displacements, elastic deformations, and thermoelasticity, and describes electromagnetoelastic responses and perturbation of the magnetic field vector in hollow structures(cylinder or sphere),subjected to mechanical load and electric potential. The material properties, thermal expansion coefficient and magnetic permeability of the structure are assumed to be graded in the radial direction by a power law distribution. In the present model we consider the solution for the case of a hollow structure made of viscoelastic isotropic material, reinforced by elastic isotropic fibers, this material is considered as structurally anisotropic material. The exact solutions for stresses and perturbations of the magnetic field vector in FGM hollow structures are determined using the infinitesimal theory of magnetothermoelasticity, and then the hollow structure model with viscoelastic material is solved using the correspondence principle and Illyushin’s approximation method. Finally, numerical results are carried out and discussed.  相似文献

This study presents an analytical solution of thermal and mechanical displacements, strains, and stresses for a thick-walled rotating spherical pressure vessel made of functionally graded materials(FGMs). The pressure vessel is subject to axisymmetric mechanical and thermal loadings within a uniform magnetic field. The material properties of the FGM are considered as the power-law distribution along the thickness. Navier's equation, which is a second-order ordinary differential equation, is derived from the mechanical equilibrium equation with the consideration of the thermal stresses and the Lorentz force resulting from the magnetic field. The distributions of the displacement, strains, and stresses are determined by the exact solution to Navier's equation. Numerical results clarify the influence of the thermal loading, magnetic field, non-homogeneity constant, internal pressure, and angular velocity on the magneto-thermo-elastic response of the functionally graded spherical vessel. It is observed that these parameters have remarkable effects on the distributions of radial displacement, radial and circumferential strains, and radial and circumferential stresses.  相似文献

In this paper, the mechanical responses of a thick-walled functionally graded hollow cylinder subject to a uniform magnetic field and inner-pressurized loads are studied. Rather than directly assume the material constants as some specific function forms displayed in pre-studies, we firstly give the volume fractions of different constituents of the functionally graded material (FGM) cylinder and then determine the expressions of the material constants. With the use of the Voigt method, the corresponding analytical solutions of displacements in the radial direction, the strain and stress components, and the perturbation magnetic field vector are derived. In the numerical part, the effects of the volume fraction on the displacement, strain and stress components, and the magnetic perturbation field vector are investigated. Moreover, by some appropriate choices of the material constants, we find that the obtained results in this paper can reduce to some special cases given in the previous studies.  相似文献

This paper presents analytical study for electromagnetothermoelastic transient behavior of a transversely isotropic hollow sphere, placed in a uniform magnetic field, subjected to arbitrary thermal shock. Exact solutions for the transient responses of stresses, perturbation of magnetic field vector, electric displacement and electric potential in the transversely isotropic piezoelectric hollow sphere are obtained by means of the Hankel transform, the Laplace transform and their inverse transforms. An interpolation method is used to solve the Volterra integral equation of the second kind caused by interactions among electric, magnetic, thermal and elastic fields. From the sample numerical calculations, it is seen that the present method is suitable for the transversely isotropic hollow sphere, placed in a uniform magnetic field, subjected to arbitrary thermal shock. Finally, the result can be used as a reference to solve other transient coupling problems of electromagnetothermoelasticity.  相似文献

The article presents an analytical solution for magneto–thermo–electro–elastic problems of a piezoelectric hollow cylinder placed in an axial magnetic field subjected to arbitrary thermal shock, mechanical load and transient electric excitation. Using an interpolation method solves the Volterra integral equation of the second kind caused by interaction among magnetic, thermal, electric and mechanical fields, the electric displacement is determined. Thus, the exact expressions for the transient responses of displacement, stresses, electric displacement, electric potential and perturbation of the magnetic field vector in the piezoelectric hollow cylinder are obtained by means of Hankel transforms, Laplace transforms, and inverse Laplace transforms. From sample numerical calculations, it is seen that the present method is suitable for a piezoelectric hollow cylinder subjected to arbitrary thermal shock, mechanical load and transient electric excitation, and the result carried out may be used as a reference to solve other transient coupled problems of magneto–thermo–electro–elasticity.  相似文献

Analytical studies on electromagnetoelastic behaviors are presented for the functionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM) solid cylinder and sphere placed in a uniform magnetic field and subjected to the external pressure and electric loading. When the mechanical, electric and magnetic properties of the material obey an identical power law in the radial direction, the exact displacements, stresses, electric potentials and perturbations of magnetic field vector in the FGPM solid cylinder and sphere are obtained by using the infinitesimal theory of electromagnetoelasticity. Numerical examples also show the significant influence of material inhomogeneity. It is interesting to note that selecting a specific value of inhomogeneity parameter can optimize the electromagnetoelastic responses, which will be of particular importance in modern engineering designs.  相似文献

A spherical pressure vessel of non-linearly viscoelastic material (Hooke-Norton type) is analysed. The internal pressure consists of a small randomly varying part superposed on a constant part. A perturbation technique is used to find stresses and deformations. The effect of the redundancy of the system on stresses and deformations is studied, and a simple approximate method is suggested for the slightly redundant case of a thin-walled sphere.  相似文献

The problem on the stress–strain state of an infinite isotropic body made of a magnetically soft material and containing a spherical cavity is considered. It is assumed that the body is under an external magnetic field. The basic characteristics of the stress–strain state and the magnetic field induced are determined and their singularities near the cavity are studied. Graphs are presented for the total magnitoelastic and Maxwell stresses as functions of the magnetic induction, the angle of dip, and the mechanical and magnetic properties of the material  相似文献

Formulas are obtained for the forces and moments acting on a spherical body made of a paramagnetic material in an uniform applied magnetic field and a magnet in a spherical vessel filled with magnetic fluid. An approximate formula is found for the force acting on bodies in ellipsoidal and cylindrical vessels or in a plane channel with a magnetic fluid in an uniform magnetic field. An analogy between the forces acting on a magnet and a paramagnetic body is demonstrated. The possibility of levitation of magnets and paramagnetic bodies in a vessel with a magnetic fluid is investigated.  相似文献

A highly sensitive, noncontacting electromagnetic device has been developed to detect stress waves in structures. It is shown that for detecting an induced strain this device is over 500 times more sensitive than conventional bonded strain gages. The principle of detecting the strain by this device is based on the fact that dynamic stresses in a structure induce similar stresses in a bonded piezoelectric material. This, in turn, creates a magnetic field which extends beyond the material itself. An electromagnetic device has been built to detect this magnetic field and thus monitor the dynamic stresses. This method provides a noncontacting means of measuring strain in structures with improved sensitivity.  相似文献

A turbulent fluid exhibits elastic properties. Turbulence may generate in the medium a body force. Small perturbations of averaged ideal turbulence reproduce the electromagnetic field. The averaged fluid velocity corresponds to the magnetic vector-potential, the perturbation of the averaged pressure to the scalar potential, and the body force due to nonuniformity of Reynolds stresses corresponds to the electric field. Discontinuities of the medium model particles and electric charges. A vapor bubble can be taken as a model of the neutron. Under the action of turbulent fluctuations the bubble turns into the inhomogeneity of the elastic medium. The region of rarefaction of the medium thus formed produces in the turbulent fluid the field of positive perturbation of the turbulence energy. This medium defect may serve as a model of the proton. In order to maintain the energy balance the respective field of negative perturbation of the turbulence energy should be formed. This field can be viewed as generated by an isle of quiescent fluid. The latter singularity models the electron. Electromagnetic interactions may be concerned with the entrainment of the pressure center in the turbulent aether. The magnetic force is due to the entrainment by the fluid stream, and the electric force is due to the entrainment by the turbulence.  相似文献

The stress analysis of pressurized circumferential pipe weldments under steady state creep is considered. The creep response of the material is governed by Norton’s law. Numerical and analytical solutions are obtained by means of perturbation method, the unperturbed solution corresponds to the stress field in a homogeneous pipe. The correction terms are treated as stresses defined with the help of an auxiliary linear elastic problem. Exact expressions for jumps of hoop and radial stresses at the interface are obtained. The proposed technique essentially simplifies parametric analysis of multi-material components.  相似文献

A stress–strain problem is solved for an infinite isotropic magnetically soft body containing an elliptic inclusion. It is assumed that the body is in an external magnetic field. The basic characteristics of the stress–strain state and the induced magnetic field are determined and their features at the inclusion are analyzed. Graphs are drawn for the total magnetoelastic and Maxwell stresses versus the ratio of the ellipse axes and the angle of dip, and tabular maximum stresses versus the magnetic induction and the magnetic properties of the material.  相似文献

The paper addresses a stress–strain problem for an infinite soft ferromagnetic body with an elliptic inclusion. The body is in a homogeneous magnetic field B 01. The basic stress–strain characteristics and induced magnetic field in the body and inclusion are determined and their features in the neighborhood of the inclusion are studied. The magnetoelastic and Maxwell stresses are plotted against the ratio of ellipse axes and the latitude angle. Maximum stresses versus magnetic induction and mechanical and magnetic properties of the material are tabulated  相似文献

The peristaltic flow of a Johnson-Segalman fluid in a planar channel is investigated in an induced magnetic field with the slip condition. The symmetric nature of the flow in a channel is utilized. The velocity slip condition in terms of shear stresses is considered. The mathematical formulation is presented, and the equations are solved under long wavelength and low Reynolds number approximations. The perturbation solutions are established for the pressure, the axial velocity, the micro-rotation component, the stream function, the magnetic-force function, the axial induced magnetic field, and the current distribution across the channel. The solution expressions for small Weissenberg numbers are derived. The flow quantities of interest are sketched and analyzed.  相似文献
