Nitrogen Halogen Derivatives of Dimethylsulfoximide and Dimethylsulfodiimide – Structure and Spectra The ir, nmr, and mass spectra of the N halogen compounds (CH₃)₂S(O)NBr ( 1 ), (CH₃)₂S(NH)NBr ( 2 ), (CH₃)₂S(NBr)₂ ( 3 ), and (CH₃)₂S(NI)₂ ( 4 ) are measured and briefly discussed. 3 crystallizes in the tetragonal space group P4₁2₁2 with a = b = 740,8, c = 1282,0 pm and Z = 4.

Gadoliniumhydridehalides – on the Absorption and Desorption of Hydrogen The phases described as LnX (Ln = Lanthanoid, X = Cl, Br) regularly contain hydrogen. All attempts to lose the hydrogen by heating GdXH_nin sealed Ta ampoules under vacuum or in Pt capsules, these under oxygen, yield GdX₃and Gd. The results hold for the corresponding phases of all other rare-earth metals. GdXH_n has a range of homogeneity with an upper limit n = 1 and lower limits n = 0.72 (X = Cl)and n = 0.67 (X = Br). The metallic graphite-like phases reversibly react with hydrogen to form translucent GdXH₂. A gap of miscibility is found between GdXH and GdXH₂.     

Notiz über die Photoelektronen-Spektren des Nortricyclens und des Triasterans

The photocelectron spectra of nortricyclene (=tricyclo[2.2.1.0^2,6]heptane) and of triasterane (=tetracyclo[3.3.1.0^2,8.0^4,6]nonane) have been recorded and a tentative assignment of the bands has been put forward on the basis of MINDO/2 SCF calculations.
