Bochner-Kodaira Techniques on K¨ahler Finsler Manifolds

A horizontal Hodge Laplacian operator $\square_{\mathcal {H}}$ is defined for Hermitian holomorphic vector bundles over PTM on K¨ahler Finsler manifold, and the expression of $\square_{\mathcal {H}}$ is obtained explicitly in terms of horizontal covariant derivatives of the Chern-Finsler connection. The vanishing theorem is obtained by using the $\partial_{\mathcal {H}}\ov{\partial}_{\mathcal {H}}$-method on K¨ahler Finsler manifolds.     

THEOREMS OF BARTH-LEFSCHETZ TYPE ON KAHLER MANIFOLDS WITH PARTIALLY POSITIVE CURVATURE

The author obtains the theorems of Barth-Lefschetz type on Kahler manifolds with partially positive bisectional curvature without the assumption of nonnegative bisectional curvature. Some applications of the results to holomorphic mappings are given.     

VANISHING THEOREMS FOR ACH KAHLER MANIFOLDS AND HARMONIC MAPS

We discuss a class of complete Kaihler manifolds which are asymptotically complex hyperbolic near infinity. The main result is vanishing theorems for the second L2 cohomology of such manifolds when it has positive spectrum. We also generalize the result to the weighted Poincare inequality case and establish a vanishing theorem provided that the weighted function p is of sub-quadratic growth of the distance function. We also obtain a vanishing theorem of harmonic maps on manifolds which satisfies the weighted Poincare inequality.     

L2-harmonic 1-forms on Complete Manifolds

We study the global behavior of complete minimal δ-stable hypersurfaces in R~(n+1) by using L~2-harmonic 1-forms.We show that a complete minimal δ-stable(δ (n-1)~2/n~2)hypersurface in R~(n+1) has only one end.We also obtain two vanishing theorems of complete noncompact quaternionic manifolds satisfying the weighted Poincar′e inequality.These results are improvements of the first author's theorems on hypersurfaces and quaternionic K¨ahler manifolds.     

Local Schrodinger flow into Kahler manifolds

In this paper we show that there exists a unique local smooth solution for the Cauchy problem of the Schrodinger flow for maps from a compact Riemannian manifold into a complete Kahler manifold, or from a Euclidean space Rm into a compact Kahler manifold. As a consequence, we prove that Heisenberg spin system is locally well-posed in the appropriate Sobolev spaces.

Index Theorem for Equivariant Dirac Operators on Noncompact Manifolds

Let D be a (generalized) Dirac operator on a noncompact complete Riemannian manifold M acted on by a compact Lie group G. Let v: M g = Lie G be an equivariant map, such that the corresponding vector field on M does not vanish outside of a compact subset. These data define an element of K-theory of the transversal cotangent bundle to M. Hence, by embedding of M into a compact manifold, one can define a topological index of the pair (D,v) as an element of the completed ring of characters of G. We define an analytic index of (D,v) as an index space of certain deformation of D and we prove that the analytic and topological indexes coincide. As a main step of the proof, we show that index is an invariant of a certain class of cobordisms, similar to the one considered by Ginzburg, Guillemin and Karshon. In particular, this means that the topological index of Atiyah is also invariant under this class of noncompact cobordisms. As an application, we extend the Atiyah–Segal–Singer equivariant index theorem to our noncompact setting. In particular, we obtain a new proof of this theorem for compact manifolds.

A Cartan–Hadamard Theorem for Banach–Finsler Manifolds

In this paper we study Banach–Finsler manifolds endowed with a spray which have seminegative curvature in the sense that the corresponding exponential function has a surjective expansive differential in every point. In this context we generalize the classical theorem of Cartan–Hadamard, saying that the exponential function is a covering map. We apply this to symmetric spaces and thus obtain criteria for Banach–Lie groups with an involution to have a polar decomposition. Typical examples of symmetric Finsler manifolds with seminegative curvature are bounded symmetric domains and symmetric cones endowed with their natural Finsler structure which in general is not Riemannian.     

Collars in Complex and Quaternionic Hyperbolic Manifolds

We use the complex and quaternionic hyperbolic versions of Jørgensen's inequality to construct embedded collars about short, simple, closed geodesics in complex and quaternionic hyperbolic manifolds. In general, the width of these collars depend both on the length of the geodesic and on the rotational part of the group element uniformising it. For complex hyperbolic space we are able to use a lemma of Zagier to give an estimate based only on the length. We show that these canonical collars are disjoint from each other and from canonical cusps. We also calculate the volumes of these collars.     

SHORT COMMUNICATION SECTION Some Geometric Flows on Kahler Manifolds

We define a kind of KdV （Korteweg-de Vries） geometric flow for maps from a real line or a circle into a Kahler manifold （N,J,h） with complex structure J and metric h as the generalization of the vortex filament dynamics from a real line or a circle. By using the geometric analysis, the existence of the Cauchy problems of the KdV geometric flows will be investigated in this note.     

关于近Hermitian流形的注记(英文)

We give a necessary and sufficient condition for an almost Hermitian manifold to be a Kahler manifold. By making use of this condition, we give a new proof of Goldberg＇s theorem.
