In the following,G denotes a finite group,r(G) the number of conjugacy classes ofG, β(G) the number of minimal normal subgroups ofG andα(G) the number of conjugate classes ofG not contained in the socleS(G). Let Φ j = {G|β(G) =r(G) −j}. In this paper, the family Φ11 is classified. In addition, from a simple inspection of the groups withr(G) =b conjugate classes that appear in ϒ j =1/11 Φ j , we obtain all finite groups satisfying one of the following conditions: (1)r(G) = 12; (2)r(G) = 13 andβ(G) > 1; …; (9)r(G) = 20 andβ(G) > 8; (10)r(G) =n andβ(G) =na with 1 ≦a ≦ 11, for each integern ≧ 21. Also, we obtain all finite groupsG with 13 ≦r(G) ≦ 20,β(G) ≦r(G) − 12, and satisfying one of the following conditions: (i) 0 ≦α(G) ≦ 4; (ii) 5 ≦α(G) ≦ 10 andS(G) solvable.  相似文献

We construct the nonstandard hull of a not necessarily bounded strongly continuous representationU of the locally compact semigroupS on a Banach spaceE. Then we apply our results to the theory of the spectrum σ (U) ofU, mainly in cases whereS is an abelian group, e.g.S=R. First of all we obtain generalizations to the unbounded case of results known for the bounded one. Secondly we introduce the notion of the Riesz part R σ(U) of σ(U) and characterize those representations satisfying σ(U)=R σ(U). For paranormal operator T on a separable complex Hilbert space we show that (1) Weyl’s theorem holds for T, i.e., σ(T) \ w(T) = π00(T) and (2) every Riesz idempotent E with respect to a non-zero isolated point λ of σ(T) is self-adjoint (i.e., it is an orthogonal projection) and satisfies that ranE = ker(T − λ) = ker(T − λ)*.  相似文献

We find a new construction of the evolution operatorG(t, s) associated to a family {A(t), 0≦tT} of generators of analytic semigroups in a Banach spaceX. We study the dependence ofG (t, s) ont ands, and we give regularity results for the solution of the i.v.p.u′(t)=A(t)u(t)+f(t),u(0)=x.  相似文献

Let (X, Σ, μ) be a σ-finite measure space,T a compact irreducible (positive, linear) operator onL p (μ) (1≦p<+∞). It is shown that the spectral radiusr ofT is characterized by the minimax property {fx196-1} where ∑0 denotes the ring of sets of finite measure and whereQ denotes the set of all, almost everywhere positive functions inL p. LetS be a topological semigroup andAP(S) the space of continous complex almost periodic functions onS. We obtain characterizations of compact and weakly compact operators from a Banach spaceX into AP(S). For this we use the almost periodic compactification ofS obtained through uniform spaces. For a bounded linear operatorT fromX into AP(S), letT 5, be the translate ofT bys inS defined byT 5(x)=(Tx) 5 . We define topologies on the space of bounded linear operators fromX into AP(S) and obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for an operatorT to be compact or weakly compact in terms of the uniform continuity of the mapsT 5. IfS is a Hausdorff topological semigroup, we also obtain characterizations of compact and weakly compact multipliers on AP(S) in terms of the uniform continuity of the map S→μs, where μs denotes the unique vector measure corresponding to the operatorT 5.  相似文献

It is proved that ifE is a separable Banach lattice withE′ weakly sequentially complete,F is a Banach space andT:E→F is a bounded linear operator withT′F′ non-separable, then there is a subspaceG ofE, isomorphic toC(Δ), such thatT G is an isomorphism, whereC(Δ) denotes the space of continuous real valued functions on the Cantor discontinuum. This generalizes an earlier result of the second-named author. A number of conditions are proved equivalent for a Banach latticeE to contain a subspace order isomorphic toC(Δ). Among them are the following:L 1 is lattice isomorphic to a sublattice ofE′;C(Δ)′ is lattice isomorphic to a sublattice ofE′; E contains an order bounded sequence with no weak Cauchy subsequence;E has a separable closed sublatticeF such thatF′ does not have a weak order unit. Moreover, if T* is a wF(p, r, q) operator with p, r > 0 and q ≥ 1, then the a-Weyl’s theorem holds for f(T). In addition, if T (or T*) is an algebraically wF(p, r, q) operator with p, r > 0 and q ≥ 1, then we establish the spectral mapping theorems for the Weyl spectrum and for the essential approximate point spectrum of T for any f ∈ Hol(σ(T)), respectively. Let E be a Banach lattice. Its ideal center Z(E) is embedded naturally in the ideal center Z(E′) of its dual. The embedding may be extended to a contractive algebra and lattice homomorphism of Z(E)ʺ into Z(E′). We show that the extension is onto Z(E′) if and only if E has a topologically full center. (That is, for each x ? E{x\in E}, the closure of Z(E)x is the closed ideal generated by x.) The result can be generalized to the ideal center of the order dual of an Archimedean Riesz space and in a modified form to the orthomorphisms on the order dual of an Archimedean Riesz space.  相似文献

In particular it is proved thatZ(R s)—the normalization ofZ(R s) —is a prüfer ring, 1≦k.d(R s)≦p.i.d(R s) and the inequalities can be strict. We also obtain a related result concerning the contractability ofq, a prime ideal ofZ(R) fromR. More precisely, letQ be a prime ideal ofR maximal to satisfyQϒZ(R)=q.
