The wreath product of groups is one of basic constructions in group theory. We construct its analogue, a wreath product of Lie algebras.

Consider Lie algebras and over a field . Let be the universal enveloping algebra. Then has the natural structure of a Lie algebra, where the multiplication is defined via the comultiplication in . Also, acts by derivations on via the (left) coregular action. The semidirect sum we call the wreath product and denote by . As a main result, we prove that an arbitrary extension of Lie algebras can be embedded into the wreath product .

In the present paper it will be proved that the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of the standard graded -algebra is at most . By virtue of this result, it follows that the regularity of a simplicial semigroup ring with isolated singularity is at most , where is the multiplicity of and is the codimension of .

Let be a commutative ring with identity and an -module. It is shown that if is pure injective, then is isomorphic to a direct summand of the direct product of a family of finitely embedded modules. As a result, it follows that if is Noetherian, then is pure injective if and only if is isomorphic to a direct summand of the direct product of a family of Artinian modules. Moreover, it is proved that is pure injective if and only if there is a family of -algebras which are finitely presented as -modules, such that is isomorphic to a direct summand of a module of the form , where for each , is an injective -module.

In a paper of Le, he claimed that without giving a proof. Furthermore, the statement has been used by Le, Bugeaud and Shorey in their papers to derive results on certain Diophantine equations. Let be vectors in which generate . We show that a body with the vectors as edge vectors is an almost minimal set with the property that every function with periods is constant. For the result reduces to the theorem of Fine and Wilf, which is a refinement of the famous Periodicity Lemma.

Suppose is not a non-trivial linear combination of with non-negative coefficients. Then we describe the sector such that every interior integer point of the sector is a linear combination of over , but infinitely many points on each of its hyperfaces are not. For the result reduces to a formula of Sylvester corresponding to Frobenius' Coin-changing Problem in the case of coins of two denominations.

It is a well-known result of M. Brodmann that if is an ideal of a commutative Noetherian ring , then the set of associated primes of the -th power of is constant for all large . This paper is concerned with the following question: given a prime ideal of which is known to be in for all large integers , can one identify a term of the sequence beyond which will subsequently be an ever-present? This paper presents some results about convergence of sequences of sets of associated primes of graded components of finitely generated graded modules over a standard positively graded commutative Noetherian ring; those results are then applied to the above question.

Generalizing the celebrated theorem of Sakai, we prove that if is a continuous -mapping, then is automatically continuous. In addition, we show the converse is true in the sense that if is a continuous --derivation, then there exists a continuous linear mapping such that is a --derivation. The continuity of the so-called - -derivations is also discussed.

Improving on work of Balog, Ono, and Serre we show that for almost all , where is any good function (e.g. such as ) monotonically tending to infinity with . Using a result of Fouvry and Iwaniec, if is a weight 2 cusp form for an elliptic curve without complex multiplication, then we show for all that . We also obtain conditional results depending on the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis and the Lang-Trotter Conjecture.

In this paper, algebraic isomorphisms of large subalgebras and of radical-type subalgebras are characterized. Let be a nest of subspaces of a Hilbert space and be a subalgebra of the nest algebra associated to (). Let be an algebraic isomorphism from onto . It is proved that is spatial if one of the following occurs: (1) () is large and contains a masa; (2) () is large and closed; (3) () is a closed radical-type subalgebra and ( is quasi-continuous (i.e. the trivial elements of are limit points); (4) () is large and one of and is not quasi-continuous.
