It is shown that, depending on the incident wave frequency and the system geometry, the extraordinary transmission of light through a metal film perforated by an array of subwavelength holes can be described by one of the three mechanisms: the “transparency window” in the metal, excitation of the Fabry–Perot resonance of a collective mode produced by the hybridization of evanescence modes of the holes and surface plasmons, and excitation of a plasmon on the rear boundary of the film. The excitation of a plasmon resonance on the front boundary of the metal film does not make any substantial contribution to the transmission coefficient, although introduces a contribution to the reflection coefficient.  相似文献

We calculate the reflected second harmonic light from alkali metal films with the simultaneous excitation of the surface plasmon mode. The harmonic generation from a sodium film at the ruby laser frequency increases by over two orders of magnitude at the angle for surface plasmon excitation. The harmonic enhancement is closely related to the surface plasmon density and exhibits a strong dependence on the angle of incidence, film thickness, and the linear optical constants of the metal film.  相似文献

酞菁铜/金属薄膜界面电位与光二次谐波特性分析   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
采用Kalvin探针和光二次谐波 (SecondHarmonicGeneration ,SHG)方法研究了铜酞菁衍生物 (Coppertetra tert butylPhthalocyanine ,CuttbPc )LB(Langmuir Blodgentt)膜与金属 (Al、Au)界面的空间电荷现象与非线性光学效应 .检测到空间电荷感应电场 (SpaceChargeInducedElectricField ,SCIEF)形成的表面电位与金属功函数有关 ,并随膜厚变化趋于饱和值 .尽管酞菁分子为中心对称体系 ,但仍有SHG效应 ,并观察到CuttbPc/Al样品在 12 6 0nm附近有异常增强的SH信号 ,而CuttbPc/Au样品未见该峰 .根据样品结构的物理模型 ,运用电磁场理论分析了界面电介质的非线性极化特性和光学效应产生机制 ,初步认为CuttbPc/Al的SH增强峰源于SCIEF形成的较强表面电位 ,说明SH信号的产生与界面静电现象有密切关系 .  相似文献

介绍了多碱光电阴极的光学性能和光谱反射率特性,测量了多碱阴极的光谱反射率曲线.该曲线与普通光学膜层光谱反射率曲线相比,形状较不规则,原因是多碱阴极膜层存在光吸收.光谱反射率曲线上的干涉峰是入射光在玻璃与阴极膜层界面反射和在阴极膜层与真空的界面反射的两束光发生干涉的结果.根据干涉的原理,如果阴极膜层所反射的两束光的光程差为二分之一波长的偶倍数时,光谱反射将出现干涉加强峰;如果阴极膜层所反射的两束光的光程差为二分之一波长的奇倍数时,光谱反射将出现干涉减弱峰.根据超二代像增强器光谱反射干涉峰对应的波长,可以计算出其阴极膜层的厚度约为191 nm,比二代像增强器阴极膜层的厚度增加了38%.多碱阴极膜层厚度是影响多碱阴极灵敏度的一个关键参量,仅仅靠人眼观察阴极膜层颜色的方法不准确.实践证明,利用光谱反射的方法来计算阴极膜层厚度的方法简单有效.如果在多碱阴极的制作过程中进行光谱反射率的监控,那么将可以精确控制阴极膜层的厚度,对多碱阴极的研究将会更加深入,多碱阴极的灵敏度也将会得到进一步的提升.  相似文献

Transmission geometry measurements of the efficiency of second harmonic generation in various thicknesses of CdTe samples were made to determine the conversion efficiency dependence on material thickness. Neglecting pump depletion, it is found that for samples of well-defined symmetry, the second harmonic conversion efficiency scales with film thickness, with no observed enhancement owing to coherence length effects. The angular dependence of the observed second harmonic light in films of well-defined symmetry is consistent with second harmonic generation originating in the bulk.  相似文献

The second harmonic generation (SHG) of light diffusely scattered by cold-deposited silver films is negligible with respect to the specular intensities. Therefore, a cold-deposited silver film is well approximated by a homogeneous effective medium. The intensities of SHG at 1.06 μm and the optical absorption at 0.53 μm depend on both the square of the internal effective field at 0.53 μm and a change in the same way when annealing the film. This can be understood by the assumption that SHG is also mainly following the electric field within the metal phase and surface contributions to SHG interfere destructively. This is corroborated by the observation that the SHG intensity does not show the ‘chemical first layer effects’ seen by surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS).  相似文献

During the interaction of an intense ultrashort laser pulse with solid targets, a thin layer of surface plasma is generated in which the density drops to the vacuum level in a distance much shorter than the wavelength. This sharp plasma-vacuum boundary performs an oscillatory motion in response to the electromagnetic forces of the intense laser light. It is shown that the generation of reflected harmonics can be interpreted as a phase modulation experienced by the light upon reflection from the oscillating boundary. The modulation side-bands of the reflected frequency spectrum correspond to odd and even harmonics of the laser frequency. Retardation effects lead to a strong anharmonicity for high velocities of the plasma-vacuum boundary. As a result, harmonic generation is strongly enhanced in the relativistic regime of laser intensities.Prof. F. P. Schäfer on the occasion of his 65th birthday.  相似文献

We report the first observation of reflected optical second harmonic generation of light due to excitation of fundamental and harmonic surface plasmon modes at the interface between a metallic film and a piezoelectric crystal. Excitation of the fundamental surface plasmon mode produces a large enhancement of the piezoelectric generated reflected harmonic light whereas excitation of the nonlinear mode produces only a small minimum in the background surface generated harmonic light.  相似文献

光入射到不同折射率材料的分界面时会很自然地产生反射现象. 在很多的工业应用中, 例如太阳能电池, 衬底的引入会在其表面产生反射损耗. 至今为止, 人们提出很多方法用来克服这一问题, 比较常见的有介质涂层、表面纹理、绝热折射率匹配和散射等离激元纳米粒子. 本文利用二维周期排布的亚波长级硅纳米圆柱阵列来降低衬底表面的反射. 结合辅助微分方程和时域有限差分法对该结构的散射特性进行系统研究, 结果发现, 纳米圆柱粒子能够产生类似于在金属表面发生的超传输现象, 这种现象的发生基于介质衬底耦合Mie共振机理, 该机理能在整个紫外到近红外光谱范围内将能量耦合到衬底中, 从而降低衬底表面的反射; 同时当散射结构被放置在具有高光学态密度的高折射率衬底附近时, 会产生较强的前向散射, 也能有效的减少后向散射即反射的发生. 基于降低衬底表面反射这一目的而言, 我们设计的结构可为实际太阳能电池及光学天线的设计提供参考.  相似文献

On the baisis of a microscopic local-field theory, a non-local analysis of the second harmonic generation arising from intersubband transitions in coupled double quantum wells is presented. Taking as a start point an integral equation for the local field, the local fields at both the fundamental and second harmonic frequencies for a p-polarized incident field are determined. In a reflection geometry, the conversion efficiency of the second harmonic generation from the coupled double quantum wells is derived. Numerical calculations for different parameters show that the influence of the electronic non-local effects on the second harmonic generation can be significant.  相似文献

Nongyrotropic magneto-optical effects are investigated in metal-insulator magnetic multilayer thin films. These effects manifest themselves in changes in the coefficients of transmission and reflection of electromagnetic radiation from the surface of a multilayer film due to the crossover of the magnetic structure from an antiferromagnetic configuration to a ferromagnetic configuration. The nongyrotropic magneto-optical effect observed in reflected light is analyzed theoretically. It is assumed that the multilayer structure is exposed to radiation of a monochromatic plane wave polarized along the direction of magnetization of the film. The magneto-optical effect is described in terms of the permittivity tensor of the multilayer medium, which depends only on the light frequency. The Boltzmann kinetic equation is treated with allowance made for spin-dependent electron scattering both inside conducting layers and at rough interfaces. Using an Fe/C multilayer as an example, it is demonstrated that the nongyrotropic magneto-optical effect is equal in order of magnitude to the equatorial Kerr effect or other strong magneto-optical effects.  相似文献

本文测量了几种玻璃-银膜界面反射二次谐波随入射光偏振角的变化,测量了超高真空中多晶银基底上冷凝银膜表面退火前后的反射二次谐波,以及超高真空中纯度为99.99%多晶银表面的反射二次谐波,计算了垂直和平行表面谐波电流参数a、b,得到对棱镜-银界面b=-0.97;α=2.1,多晶银表面α=-9,冷凝银膜退火前后α分别为7和-5.结果表明.α对表面状况极为敏感.  相似文献

A theoretical model is presented for the study of the scattering of magnons at an extended symmetric atomic well in very thin magnetic films. The thin film consists of three cubic atomic planes with ordered spins coupled by Heisenberg exchange, and the system is supported on a non-magnetic substrate, and considered otherwise free from magnetic interactions. The coherent transmission and reflection scattering coefficients are derived as elements of a Landauer type scattering matrix. Transmission and reflection scattering cross sections are hence calculated specifically, as a function of the varying local magnetic exchange on the inhomogeneous boundary. Detailed numerical results for the individual incident film magnons, and for the calculated overall magnon conductance, show characteristic transmission properties, with associated Fano resonances, depending on the magnetic boundary conditions and on the magnon incidence.  相似文献

We experimentally study second-harmonic generation by femtosecond Cr: forsterite-laser radiation scattered on the surface of porous gallium phosphide with characteristic pore sizes and distances between the pores comparable with the second-harmonic wavelength. The intensity of the second-harmonic signal from samples with initial crystallographic surface orientations (110) and (111) is more than an order of magnitude higher than the intensity of the second harmonic generated in reflection from single-crystal gallium phosphide. The efficiency of second-harmonic generation by macroporous gallium phosphide substantially increases as the pump wave-length becomes shorter. The influence of light localization and scattering effects on the enhancement of second-harmonic generation and polarization properties of the second-harmonic is discussed.  相似文献

In this paper we present several new theoretical and experimental results bearing on the conditions under which enhanced backscattering occurs, and the way in which this phenomenon depends on the nature of the random surface roughness, both in the case that the random surface bounds a semi-infinite scattering medium and in the case that it bounds a film, either free-standing or on a reflecting substrate. It is shown that scattering of a plane monochromatic wave by a finite two-dimensional crystal (quantum well or Langmuir-Blodgett film) in the region of exciton resonance shows, along with the peak of specular reflection, a peak of comparable magnitude corresponding to backward scattering propagating toward the incident beam (antispecular reflection). The effect is related to reflection of the exciton by the boundary of the two-dimensional crystal. The solution of the scattering problem for a simple model system with a Frenkel exciton, demonstrating this phenomenon, is given.  相似文献
