We investigated the direct electrochemistry of glucose oxidase (GOx) at gelatin-multiwalled carbon nanotube (GCNT) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE). GOx was covalently immobilized onto GCNT modified GCE through the well known glutaraldehyde (GAD) chemistry. The immobilized GOx showed a pair of well-defined reversible redox peaks with a formal potential (E0′) of ? 0.40 V and a peak to peak separation (ΔEp) of 47 mV. The surface coverage concentration (Г) of GOx in GCNT/GOx/GAD composite film modified GCE was 3.88 × 10? 9 mol cm? 2 which indicates the high enzyme loading. The electron transfer rate constant (ks) of GOx immobilized onto GCNT was 1.08 s? 1 which validates a rapid electron transfer processes. The composite film shows linear response towards 6.30 to 20.09 mM glucose. We observed a good sensitivity of 2.47 μA mM?1 cm? 2 for glucose at the composite film. The fabricated biosensor displayed two weeks stability. Moreover, it shows no response to 0.5 mM of ascorbic acid (AA), uric acid (UA), acetaminophen (AP), pyruvate (PA) and lactate (LA) which shows its potential application in the determination of glucose from human serum samples. The composite film exhibits excellent recovery for glucose in human serum at physiological pH with good practical applicability.  相似文献

Titanium dioxide nanoparticle/gold nanoparticle/carbon nanotube (TiO2/Au/CNT) nanocomposites were synthesized, and then characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). A TiO2/Au/CNT nanocomposite-modified glassy carbon (GC) electrode was prepared using the drop coating method and was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), and amperometric current–time response (I-T). The modified material is redox-active. The nonenzymatically detected amount of ascorbic acid (AA) on the TiO2/Au/CNT electrode showed a linear relationship with the AA concentration, for concentrations from 0.01 to 0.08 μM; the sensitivity was 117,776.36 μA?·?cm?2?·?(mM)?1, and the detection limit was 0.01 μM (S/N?=?3). The results indicated that the TiO2/Au/CNT nanocomposite-modified GC electrode exhibited high electrocatalytic activity toward AA. This paper describes materials consisting of a network of TiO2, Au, and MWCNTs, and the investigation of their synergistic effects in the detection of AA.  相似文献

In this study, we report the fabrication of the indium tin oxide (ITO) glass electrode modified with iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) and nafion for glucose biosensor applications. The IONPs was synthesized using the precipitation method and functionalized with citric acid (CA) to provide hydrophilic surface and functional group for glucose oxidase (GOx) enzyme immobilization. The structural and morphological studies of CA-IONPs were characterized using X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The size of the IONPs measured from TEM image was ∼17 nm. The bioelectrode designated as Nafion/GOx/CA-IONPs/ITO was developed by drop casting of the CA-IONPs, GOx and nafion on the ITO glass. The Nafion/GOx/CA-IONPs/ITO bioelectrode showed good electrochemical performance for glucose detection. The functionalized CA-IONPs acted as the catalyst and help to improve the electron transfer rate between GOx and ITO electrode. In addition, thin nafion film was coated on the electrode to prevent interference and improve chemical stability. The Nafion/GOx/CA-IONPs/ITO bioelectrode showed high sensitivity of 70.1 μAmM-1cm-2 for the linear range of 1.0-8.0 mM glucose concentrations.  相似文献

A protein-based electrochemical sensor for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) was developed by an easy and effective film fabrication method where spinach ferredoxin (Fdx) containing [2Fe–2S] metal center was cross linked with 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid (MUA) on a gold (Au) surface. The surface morphology of Fdx molecules on Au electrodes was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM). Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) were employed to study the electrochemical behavior of adsorbed Fdx on Au. The interfacial properties of the modified electrode were evaluated in the presence of Fe(CN)63?/4? redox couple as a probe. From CV, a pair of well-defined and quasi-reversible redox peaks of Fdx was obtained in 10 mM, pH 7.0 Tris–HCl buffer solution at ?170 and ?120 mV respectively. One electron reduction of the [2Fe-2S]2+ cluster occurs at one of the iron atoms to give the reduced [2Fe-2S]+. The formal reduction potential of Fdx ca. ?150 mV (vs. Ag/AgCl electrode) at pH 7.0. The electron-transfer rate constant, ks, for electron transfer between the Au electrode and Fdx was estimated to be 0.12 s?1. From the electrochemical experiments, it is observed that Fdx/MUA/Au promoted direct electron transfer between Fdx and electrode and it catalyzes the reduction of H2O2. The Fdx/MUA/Au electrode displays a linear increase in amperometric current for increasing concentration of H2O2.The sensor calibration plot was linear with r2 = 0.998 with sensitivity approximately 68.24 μAm M?1 cm?2. Further, the effect of nitrite on the developed sensor was examined which does not interfere with the detection of H2O2. Finally, the addition of H2O2 on MUA/Au electrode was observed which has no effect on amperometric current.  相似文献

A novel biosensor using poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene) (PEDOT) modified Pt electrode was developed for selective determination of dopamine (DA) in presence of high concentrations of ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA) with a maximum molar ratio of 1/1000, and 1/100 in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). SDS forms a monolayer on PEDOT surface with a high density of negatively charged end directed outside the electrode. The electrochemical response of dopamine was improved by SDS due to the enhanced accumulation of protonated dopamine via electrostatic interactions. The common overlapped oxidation peaks of AA, UA and DA can be resolved by using SDS as the DA current signal increases while the corresponding signals for AA and UA are quenched. The use of SDS in the electrochemical determination of dopamine using linear sweep voltammetry at modified electrode PEDOT/Pt resulted in detecting dopamine at relatively lower concentrations. The DA concentration could be measured in the linear range of 0.5 to 25 μmol L? 1 and 30 μmol L? 1 to 0.1 mmol L? 1 with correlation coefficients of 0.998 and 0.993 and detection limits 61 nmol L? 1 and 86 nmol L? 1, respectively. The validity of using this method in the determination of dopamine in human urine was also demonstrated.  相似文献

A novel electrochemical platform based on nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles and TiO2–graphene (TiO2–Gr) was developed for the direct electrochemistry of glucose oxidase (GOD). The electrochemical behavior of the sensor was studied using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The experimental results demonstrated that the nanocomposite well retained the activity of GOD and the modified electrode GOD/NiO/TiO2–Gr/GCE exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the redox of GOD as evidenced by the significant enhancement of redox peak currents in comparison with bare GCE. The biosensor responded linearly to glucose in the range of 1.0–12.0?mM, with a sensitivity of 4.129?μA?mM?1 and a detection limit of 1.2?×?10?6?M under optimized conditions. The response time of the biosensor was 3?s. In addition, the developed biosensor possessed good reproducibility and stability, and there was negligible interference from other electroactive components.  相似文献

We report an ingenious approach for the fabrication of a promising glucose sensor, GOx/Au/CS–IL–MWNT(SH), that exploits the synergistic beneficial characteristics of multiwalled-carbon nanotubes (MWNTs), gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), chitosan (CS) and room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL). Direct electron transfer between glucose oxidase (GOx) and electrode was achieved. Scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy images of GOx/Au/CS–IL–MWNT(SH) reveal that MWNTs and AuNPs are dispersed in CS–IL matrix. Cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy and chronoamperometry were used to evaluate the performance of biosensor. The GOx/Au/CS–IL–MWNT(SH) biosensor exhibits a linear current response to glucose concentration (1–10 mM) at a low potential of 0.10 V and precludes interferences from uric acid and ascorbic acid. The GOx/Au/CS–IL–MWNT(SH) biosensor has superior performances over GOx/CS–IL–MWNT(SH).  相似文献

A new amperometric biosensor based on adsorption of glucose oxidase (GOx) at the CuGeO3 nanowires (NW) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) is reported in this article. The properties of the biosensor were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and electrochemical techniques. The GCE modified with the CuGeO3 NW/GOD showed excellent electrocatalytical response to the oxidation of glucose. Different parameters including GOx concentration, working potential and pH of supporting electrolyte that governed the analytical performance of the biosensor have been studied in detail and optimized. The biosensor was applied to detect glucose with a linear range of 0.5 to 7 mM. The biosensor exhibited excellent reproducibility and stability.  相似文献

Based on the immobilization of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in chitosan(CS) on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with the Au‐Pt alloy nanoparticles (NPs) / polyaniline nanotube (nanoPAN) nanocomposite film, a novel hydrogen peroxide biosensor was constructed. The modified processes of GCE were monitored by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Au‐PtNPs/nanoPAN/CS had a better synergistic electrochemical effect than did AuNPs/nanoPAN/CS or PtNPs/nanoPAN/CS. The amperometric response of the biosensor towards H2O2 was investigated by successively adding aliquots of H2O2 to a continuous stirring phosphate buffer solution under the optimized conditions. Because Au‐PtNPs have unique catalytic properties and good biocompatibility, and especially Au‐PtNPs and nanoPAN have synergistic augmentation for facilitating electron‐transfer, the biosensor displayed a fast response time (<2 s) and broad linear response to H2O2 in the range from 1.0 to 2200 μmol L?1 with a relatively low detection limit of 0.5 μmol L?1 at 3 times the background noise. Moreover, the biosensor can be applied in practical analysis and exhibited high sensitivity, good reproducibility, and long‐term stability.  相似文献

Platinum nanoparticles/carbon nanotubes (Ptnano/CNTs) were rapidly synthesized by microwave radiation, and applied for the oxidative determination of arsenic(III). The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed the size of synthesized Pt nanoparticles with nominal diameter of 15 ± 3 nm. Ptnano/CNTs modified glassy carbon electrode (Ptnano/CNTs/GCE) exhibited better performance for arsenic(III) analysis than that of Pt nanoparticles modified GCE (Ptnano/GCE) by electrochemical deposition or Pt foil electrode. Excellent reproducibility of the Ptnano/CNTs/GCE was obtained with the relative standard deviation (RSD) of 3.5% at 20 repeated analysis of 40 μM As(III), while the RSD was 9.8% for Ptnano/GCE under the same conditions. The limit of determination (LOD) of the Ptnano/CNTs/GCE was 0.12 ppb, which was 1–2 orders of magnitude lower than that of Ptnano/GCE or Pt foil electrode.  相似文献

The electrochemical oxidation of β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) is studied at a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with bicontinuous gyroidal mesoporous carbon (BGMC). Due to the large surface area and remarkable electrocatalytic properties of BGMC, the BGMC/GCE exhibits potent electrocatalytic activity toward the electro-oxidation of NADH. A substantial decrease of 649 mV in the overpotential of NADH oxidation reaction is achieved compared with a bare GCE. The anodic peak currents increase steadily with the concentration of NADH in a broad range from 3.0 × 10?6 to 1.4 × 10?3 M with a low detection limit of 1.0 × 10?6 M under the optimal condition.  相似文献

Amperometric enzyme biosensor based on the glucose oxidase (GOx) incorporated polyaniline nanowires (PANI-NWs) on carbon cloth (CC) electrode was demonstrated. The simple, direct-growth of PANI-NWs on CC, via electrochemical polymerization, provides free-standing, template-independent, hence almost (interfacial) defects-free nanostructures. The defect-free interfaces, along with the excellently sensitive organic nanostructured-surface, as evident from its significantly large effective surface area (24 times the geometric area) for redox-sensing, allows efficient entrapment/immobilization and sensing of biomolecules, via rapid electron-transfer at NWs-CC. The GOx-immobilized PANI-NWs/CC, even in initial unoptimized stage, exhibited an excellent sensitivity, ~2.5 mA mM?1 cm?2, to glucose, over detection range 0–8 mM, adequate for clinical monitoring of human glucose levels. The report clearly reveals a cost-effective simple system possessing enormous potentiality for biosensors, bioenergy and bioelectronics applications.  相似文献

The electrochemistry of glucose oxidase (GOx) immobilized on a graphite rod electrode modified by gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs) was studied. Two types of amperometric glucose sensors based on GOx immobilized and Au-NPs modified working electrode (Au-NPs/GOx/graphite and GOx/Au-NPs/graphite) were designed and tested in the presence and the absence of N-methylphenazonium methyl sulphate in different buffers. Results were compared to those obtained with similar electrodes not containing Au-NPs (GOx/graphite). This study shows that the application of Au-NPs increases the rate of mediated electron transfer. Major analytical characteristics of the amperometric biosensor based on GOx and 13 nm diameter Au-NPs were determined. The analytical signal was linearly related to glucose concentration in the range from 0.1 to 10 mmol L?1. The detection limit for glucose was found within 0.1 mmol L?1 and 0.08 mmol L?1 and the relative standard deviation in the range of 0.1–100 mol L?1 was 0.04–0.39%. The τ1/2 of V max characterizes the storage stability of sensors: this parameter for the developed GOx/graphite electrode was 49.3 days and for GOx/Au-NPs/graphite electrode was 19.5 days. The sensor might be suitable for determination of glucose in beverages and/or in food.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticle coated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Ag/MWCNT) were prepared and used to fabricate a modified electrode. The Ag/MWCNT composites were observed by a transmission electron microscope (TEM), and the electrochemical properties of the Ag/MWCNT composite modified glassy carbon electrode were characterized by electrochemical measurements. The results showed that these composites had a favorable catalytic ability for the reduction of trichloroacetic acid (TCAA). Square wave voltammetric (SWV) technique was applied to detect TCAA. Under optimum conditions, the voltammetric determination of TCAA was performed with a linear range of 5.0 × 10? 6–1.2 × 10? 4 mol L? 1 and a detection limit of 1.9 × 10? 6 mol L? 1 (S/N = 3).  相似文献

The electrochemiluminescent (ECL) behavior of lucigenin on a multi-wall carbon nanotube/nano-Au modified glassy carbon electrode (MWNT/nano-Au/GCE) was studied in this paper. Compared with the bare GCE, the ECL intensity of lucigenin can be greatly enhanced at MWNT/nano-Au/GCE. Based on the fact that superoxide dimutase (SOD) could obviously inhibit the ECL of lucigenin at MWNT/nano-Au/GCE, a sensitive ECL biosensor for determination of SOD was developed with a wide linear range of 5.0 × 10−8–5.0 × 10−6 mol/L with detection limit of 2.5 × 10−8 mol/L.  相似文献

Here we report the unique property of a preanodized screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE1) that can allow direct electron transfer (DET) reaction of glucose oxidase (GOx). The GOx can be immobilized in the composite of oxygen functionalities and edge plane sites generated during preanodization without additional cross-linking agents. The electron transfer rate of GOx is greatly enhanced to 4.38 s−1 as a result of the conformational change of GOx in the microenvironment enabling the accessibility of active site for GOx to the electrode. The analytical versatility is further improved with the aid of Nafion film. As a consequence, the as-prepared electrode can be used as a glucose biosensor and the number of potential foreign species is then restricted by molecular size, permeation and/or (bio)chemical reaction. Most importantly, the disposable nature of the proposed electrode is expected to promote the DET-related researches.  相似文献

This paper reports a transparent and flexible glucose biosensor of which multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and glucose oxidase (GOx) is layer-by-layer (LBL) self-assembled on a polymer substrate. A thin Ti and Au layers is firstly deposited on the polymer substrate through plasma immersion ion implantation (PIII) and sputtering, respectively. An organic monolayer then forms on the gold surface using thiol chemistry. Subsequently, negatively charged MWNTs and GOx are stably LBL assembled on the modified Au surface, respectively, via alternative electrostatic interaction of the positively charged polyelectrolyte with the oppositely charged MWNTs and GOx. Electrochemical studies show that the multilayer membrane exhibits remarkable electrocatalytic activity to detect glucose molecule. The biosensor displays a linear response range of 0.02–2.2 mM (a correlation coefficient of 0.998) with a low detection limit of 10 μM. This remarkable performance, combined with the large area preparation process, demonstrates this CNT-based multilayer biosensor is well suited for commercial applications.  相似文献

In this work, a novel amperometric biosensor based on carbon nanoplatelets derived from ground cherry (Physalis peruviana) husks (GCHs-CNPTs) is reported for the sensitive and selective detection of ascorbic acid (AA). The structure of the nanoplatelets, the oxygen-containing groups and edge-plane-like defective sites (EPDSs) on the GCHs-CNPTs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The presence of GCHs-CNPTs with a high density of EPDSs effectively enhances the electron transfer between AA and the glassy carbon electrode (GCE), and thus induces a substantial decrease in the overvoltage for AA oxidation compared with both a bare GCE and a GCE modified with carbon nanotubes (CNTs/GCE). In particular, an amperometric biosensor based on GCHs-CNPTs exhibited a wider linear range (0.01–3.57 mM), higher sensitivity (208.63 μA mM 1 cm 2), a lower detection limit (1.09 μM, S/N = 3) and better resistance to fouling for AA determination compared to a CNTs/GCE. The great potential of the GCHs-CNPTs/GCE for practical and reliable AA analysis was demonstrated by the successful determination of AA in samples taken from a medical injection dose and a soft drink.  相似文献

A new type of amperometric hydrogen peroxide biosensor was fabricated by entrapping horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in the organic–inorganic hybrid material composed of zirconia–chitosan sol–gel and Au nanoparticles (ZrO2–CS–AuNPs). The sensitivity of the biosensor was enhanced by a flowerlike polymer–copper nanostructure composite (pPA–FCu) which was prepared from co-electrodeposition of CuSO4 solution and 2,6-pyridinediamine solution. Several techniques, including UV–vis absorption spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were employed to characterize the assembly process and performance of the biosensor. The results showed that this pPA–FCu nanostructure not only had excellent redox electrochemical activity, but also had good catalytic efficiency for hydrogen peroxide. Also the ZrO2–CS–AuNPs had good film forming ability, high stability and good retention of bioactivity of the immobilized enzyme. The resulting biosensors showed a linear range from 7.80 × 10?7 to 3.7 × 10?3 mol L?1, with a detection limit of 3.2 × 10?7 mol L?1 (S/N = 3) under optimized experimental conditions. The apparent Michaelis–Menten constant was determined to be 0.32 mM, showing good affinity. In addition, the biosensor which exhibits good analytical performance, acceptable stability and good selectivity, has potential for practical applications.  相似文献

A glassy carbon electrode was modified with β-manganese dioxide (β-MnO2), and glucose oxidase (GOx) was immobilized on its surface. The β-MnO2 nanowires were prepared by a hydrothermal method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy and powder X-ray diffraction. They were then dispersed in Nafion solution and cast on the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to form an electrode modified with β-MnO2 nanowires that exhibits improved sensitivity toward hydrogen peroxide. If GOx is immobilized in the surface, the β-MnO2 acts as a mediator, and Nafion as a polymer backbone. The fabrication process was characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and the sensor and its materials were characterized by cyclic voltammetry and amperometry. The biosensor enables amperometric detection of glucose with a sensitivity of 38.2 μA?·?mM?1?·?cm?2, and a response time of?<?5 s. This study also demonstrates the feasibility of realizing inexpensive, reliable, and high-performance biosensors using MnO2 nanowires.

The sensitive determination of glucose was realized at a β-MnO2 NWs modified glassy carbon electrode by amperometry. The relatively fast, reproducible and low-cost manufacturing procedure suggests that it can offer an excellent platform for glucose oxidase-biosensing applications.  相似文献
