Three new centrosymmetric trinuclear nickel(II) and manganese(II) complexes, Ni[Ni(CH(3)COO)(CPA)](2) (1), Ni[Ni(CH(3)COO)(BPA)](2) (2), Mn[Mn(CH(3)COO)(BPA)](2) (3), where H(2)CPA = N,N'-bis(5-chlorosalicylidene)-1,3-propanediamine, H(2)BPA = N,N'-bis(5-bromosalicylidene)-1,3-propanediamine, and two new centrosymmetric dinuclear zinc(II) complexes, [Zn(2)(CMP)(2)] (4) and [Zn(2)(BMP)(2)] (5), where H(2)CMP = 4-chloro-2-{[3-(5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzyl)aminopropylimino]methyl}phenol, and H(2)BMP = 4-bromo-2-{[3-(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzyl)aminopropylimino]methyl}phenol, have been prepared from the Schiff bases derived from 5-halido-substituted salicylaldehydes with N-hexylpropane-1,3-diamine under solvothermal conditions. The complexes have been characterised by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The complexes 1, 2, and 3 crystallise in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with cell dimensions a = 9.347(1), b = 11.507(2), c = 18.539(2) ?, β = 93.774(2)°, Z = 2 (for 1), a = 9.111(4), b = 12.089(6), c = 18.724(8) ?, β = 92.117(7)°, Z = 2 (for 2), and a = 11.328(2), b = 22.468(5), c = 8.270(2) ?, β = 93.74(3)°, Z = 2 (for 3), while complexes 4 and 5 crystallise in the triclinic space group P1, with cell dimensions a = 7.483(1), b = 9.990(2), c = 12.155(2) ?, α = 75.27(3), β = 85.00(3), γ = 73.82(3)°, Z = 1 (for 4), and a = 7.008(1), b = 10.081(2), c = 13.095(3) ?, α = 100.62(3), β = 95.51(3), γ = 104.03(3)°, Z = 1 (for 5). It is interesting that the mono-Schiff bases 4-chloro-2-[(3-cyclohexylaminopropylimino)methyl]phenol (HCCP) and 4-bromo-2-[(3-cyclohexylaminopropylimino)methyl]phenol (HBCP) used to prepare the nickel(II) and manganese(II) complexes were transferred to bis-Schiff bases H(2)CPA and H(2)BPA in the complexes 1, 2, and 3, while the mono-Schiff bases HCCP and HBCP used to prepare the zinc(II) complexes were transferred to novel ligands H(2)CMP and H(2)BMP, bearing the unexpected, newly formed carbon-nitrogen single bond.  相似文献

A binuclear complex of Zn(ii) with formula [Zn(dap(A)(2))](2).2.25DMF (.2.25DMF) and a Mn(ii) coordination polymer with formula [Mn(3)(dap(In)(2))(3)(H(2)O)(2).2DMSO](n) (.2DMSO)(n) have been prepared and structurally characterized [dap(A)(2) = dideprotonated form of 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(anthraniloyl hydrazone); dap(In)(2) = doubly deprotonated form of 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(isonicotinoyl hydrazone)]. In the Zn(ii) complex the molecular units are double helical, with the Zn(ii) ions in a square pyramidal environment. The Mn(ii) complex on the other hand is a coordination polymer containing two different types of hepta-coordinated Mn(ii) ions, which differ in their axial ligands. The magnetic properties of the Mn(ii) complex, along with those of a double helical pyridine bridged binuclear Ni(ii) complex, earlier synthesized by us, are also reported. The ability of the 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(aroyl hydrazone) ligands to form double helical complexes is analyzed in terms of the conformational flexibility of the ligands. The differences in the magnetic properties of the micro-N bridged binuclear complexes formed by 1,1 azido N-bridging ligands, and pyridine N-bridging ligands, is analyzed with the help of EHMO calculations.  相似文献

The complexes of Cr(III), Mn(II) and Ni(II) were synthesized with macrocyclic ligand i.e. 5,11-dimethyl-6,12-diethyl-dione-1,2,4,7,9,10-hexazacyclododeca -1,4,6,10-tetraene. The ligand (L) was prepared by [2+2] condensation reaction of 2,3-pentanedione and semicarbazide hydrochloride. These complexes were found to have the general composition [Cr(L)X(2)]X and [M(L)X(2)] (where M=Mn(II) and Ni(II); X=Cl(-), NO(3)(-), (1/2)SO(4)(2-), NCS(-) and L=ligand [N(6)]). The ligand and its transition metal complexes were characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned for these complexes except sulphato complexes which are of five coordinated geometry.  相似文献

The complexes of Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III) and Cu(II) were synthesized with the macrocyclic ligand i.e. 2,3,9,10-tetraketo-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane. The ligand was prepared by the [2 + 2] condensation reaction of diethyloxalate and 1,3-diamino propane. These complexes were found to have the general composition M(L)X3 and M'(L)X2 [where M = Mn(II) and Cu(II), M' = Cr(III) and Fe(III), L = ligand (N4) and X = Cl-, NO3-, 1/2SO4(2-) and [CH3COO-]. The ligand and its transition metal complexes were characterized by the elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, mass, IR, electronic, and EPR spectral studies. On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Cr(III), Mn(II) and Fe(III) and a tetragonal geometry for Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

Eight hetero- and homometal complexes 1-6, containing the metal centers Ni(II)Fe(III)Ni(II) (1), Mn(III)Ni(II) (2), Ni(II)Ni(II) (3a-c and 4), Zn(II)Ni(II) (5), and Zn(II)Zn(II) (6), are described. The tridentate ligation property of the metal complexes tris(pyridine-2-aldoximato)nickel(II) and tris(1-methylimidazole-2-aldoximato)nickel(II) with three facially disposed pendent oxime O atoms has been utilized to generate the said complexes. Complex 1 contains metal centers in a linear arrangement, as is revealed by X-ray diffraction. Complexes were characterized by various physical methods including cyclic voltammetry (CV), variable-temperature (2-290 K) magnetic susceptibility, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements, and X-ray diffraction methods. Binuclear complexes 2-6 are isostructural in the sense that they all contain a metal ion in a distorted octahedral environment MN(3)O(3) and a second six-coordinated Ni(II) ion in a trigonally distorted octahedral NiN(6) geometry. Complexes 1-4 display antiferromagnetic exchange coupling of the neighboring metal centers. The order of the strength of exchange coupling in the isostructural Ni(II)2 complexes, 3a-c, and 4, demonstrates the effects of the remote substituents on the spin coupling. The electrochemical measurements CV and square wave voltammograms (SQW) reveal two reversible metal-centered oxidations, which have been assigned to the Ni center ligated to the oxime N atoms, unless a Mn ion is present. Complex 2, Mn(III)Ni(II), exhibits a reduction of Mn(III) to Mn(II) and two subsequent oxidations of Mn(III) and Ni(II) to the corresponding higher states. These assignments of the redox processes have been complemented by the X-band EPR measurements. That the electrooxidized species [3a]+, [3b]+, [3c]+, and [4]+ contain the localized mixed-valent NiIINiIII system resulting from the spin coupling, a spin quartet ground state, S(t) = 3/2, has been confirmed by the X-band EPR measurements.  相似文献

Manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II) complexes are synthesized with a novel tetradentate ligand, viz. 1,5,9,13-tetraaza-6,14-dioxo-8,16-diphenylcyclohexadecane (L) and characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H NMR, IR, electronic, and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMSO correspond to be nonelectrolyte nature for Mn(II), Co(II), and Cu(II) whereas 1:2 electrolytes for Ni(II) complexes. Thus, these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X(2)] and [Ni(L)]X(2), respectively (where M = Mn(II), Co(II), and Cu(II) and X = Cl- and NO(3-)). On the basis of IR, electronic, and EPR spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes, square-planar for Ni(II) whereas tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. The ligand and its complexes were also evaluated against the growth of bacteria and pathogenic fungi in vitro.  相似文献

Reaction of manganese(II) perchlorate hexahydrate with a methanol solution of 1-thia-4,7-diazacyclononane ([9]aneN(2)S) resulted in the isolation of the manganese(II) complex [Mn([9]aneN(2)S)(2)](ClO(4))(2). The X-ray structure of this complex is reported: crystal system orthorhombic, space group Pbam, No. 55, a = 7.937(2) ?,b = 8.811(2) ?, c = 15.531(3) ?, Z = 2, R = 0.0579. The complex is high spin (S = (5)/(2)) with an effective magnetic moment (&mgr;(eff)) 5.82 &mgr;(B) at 298 K and 5.65 &mgr;(B) at 4.2 K. Computer simulation of the Q-band EPR spectrum of [Mn([9]aneN(2)S)(2)](ClO(4))(2) yields g = 1.99 +/- 0.01, |D| = 0.19 +/- 0.005 cm(-)(1), and E/D = 0.04 +/- 0.02. For the analogous hexaamine complex [Mn([9]aneN(3))(2)](ClO(4))(2) ([9]aneN(3) = 1,4,7-triazacyclononane) analysis of the EPR spectra produced the following values: g = 1.98 +/- 0.01, |D| = 0.09 +/- 0.003 cm(-)(1), and E/D = 0.1 +/- 0.01. The spin Hamiltonian parameters for [Mn([9]aneN(2)S)(2)](ClO(4))(2) derived from the EPR spectra produced a good fit to the magnetic susceptibility data.  相似文献

The coordination chemistry of the bidentate bis(imino)bis(amino)phosphate ligands [Me(3)SiN═P{NR}{N(H)R}(2)](-), where R = n-propyl is [L(1)H(2)](-), R = cyclohexyl is [L(2)H(2)](-), and R = tert-butyl is [L(3)H(2)](-), with manganese(II), is described. The bis(imino)bis(amino)phosphate-manganese(II) complexes [(η(5)-Cp)Mn(μ-L(1)H(2))](2) (1), [Mn(L(2)H(2))(2)]·THF (2·THF), and [(η(5)-Cp)Mn(L(3)H(2))] (3) were synthesized by monodeprotonation of the respective pro-ligands by manganocene, Cp(2)Mn. The molecular structures of 1-3 reveal that the steric demands of the ligand N-substituents play a dominant role in determining the aggregation state and overall composition of the manganese(II) complexes. The coordination geometries of the Mn(II) centers are six-coordinate pseudotetrahedral in 1, four-coordinate distorted tetrahedral in 2, and five-coordinate in 3, resulting in formal valence electron counts of 17, 13, and 15, respectively. EPR studies of 1-3 at Q-band reveal high-spin manganese(II) (S = (5)/(2)) in each case. In the EPR spectrum of 1, no evidence of intramolecular magnetic exchange was found. The relative magnitudes of the axial zero-field splitting parameter, D, in 2 and 3 are consistent with the symmetry of the manganese environment, which are D(2d) in 2 and C(2v) in 3.  相似文献

Manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes with 1,5,11,15-tetraaza-21,22-dioxo-tricyclo [19,3,1,I6,10]-5,10,15-20-dicosatetraene (L), as a new macrocyclicligand, have been synthesized with and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMF correspond to non-electrolytic nature of Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes, while showing a 1:2 electrolyte for thew Ni(II) complexe. Thus, these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] and [Ni(L)]X2 (where M = Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) and X = Cl- and NO3 -). On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II), a square planar for Ni(II) and tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. In vitro ligand and its metal complexes were also screened against the growth of some fungal and bacterial species in order to assess their antimicrobial properties.  相似文献

Two new cyano-bridged heterobinuclear complexes, [Mn(II)(phen)2Cl][Fe(III)(bpb)(CN)2] x 0.5CH3CH2OH x 1.5H2O (1) and [Mn(II)(phen)2Cl][Cr(III)(bpb)(CN)2] x 2H2O (2) [phen = 1,10-phenanthroline; bpb(2-) = 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzenate], and four novel azido-bridged Mn(II) dimeric complexes, [Mn2(phen)4(mu(1,1)-N3)2][M(III)(bpb)(CN)2]2 x H2O [M = Fe (3), Cr (4), Co (5)] and [Mn2(phen)4(mu(1,3)-N3)(N3)2]BPh4 x 0.5H2O (6), have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and magnetic studies. Complexes 1 and 2 comprise [Mn(phen)2Cl]+ and [M(bpb)(CN)2]- units connected by one cyano ligand of [M(bpb)(CN)2]-. Complexes 3-5 are doubly end-on (EO) azido-bridged Mn(II) binuclear complexes with two [M(bpb)(CN)2]- molecules acting as charge-compensating anions. However, the Mn(II) ions in complex 6 are linked by a single end-to-end (EE) azido bridging ligand with one large free BPh4(-) group as the charge-balancing anion. The magnetic coupling between Mn(II) and Fe(III) or Cr(III) in complexes 1 and 2 was found to be antiferromagnetic with J(MnFe) = -2.68(3) cm(-1) and J(MnCr) = -4.55(1) cm(-1) on the basis of the Hamiltonian H = -JS(Mn)S(M) (M = Fe or Cr). The magnetic interactions between two Mn(II) ions in 3-5 are ferromagnetic in nature with the magnetic coupling constants of 1.15(3), 1.05(2), and 1.27(2) cm(-1) (H = -JS(Mn1)S(Mn2)), respectively. The single EE azido-bridged dimeric complex 6 manifests antiferromagnetic interaction with J = -2.29(4) cm(-1) (H = -JS(Mn1)S(Mn2)). Magneto-structural correlationship on the EO azido-bridged Mn(II) dimers has been investigated.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes of 2-methylcyclohexanone thiosemicarbazone(MCHTSC L(1)) and 2-methylcyclohexanone-(4)N-methyl-3-thiosemicarbazone (MCHMTSC L(2)), general composition [M(L)(2)X(2)] (where M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), L = L(1) or L(2) and X = Cl(-), NO(3)(-), and [(1/2)SO(4)(2-)) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, UV-vis, IR, EPR, and mass spectral studies. Various physico-chemical techniques suggest an octahedral geometry for all the complexes.  相似文献

The reaction of MnBr(2) and [PPN](2)[S,S-C(6)H(3)-R] (1:2 molar ratio) in THF yielded [(THF)Mn(S,S-C(6)H(3)-R)(2)](-) [R = H (1a), Me (1b); THF = tetrahydrofuran]. Formation of the dimeric [Mn(S,S-C(6)H(3)-R)(2)](2)(2-) [R = H (2a), Me (2b)] was presumed to compensate for the electron-deficient Mn(III) core via two thiolate bridges upon dissolution of complexes 1a and 1b in CH(2)Cl(2). Complex 2a displays antiferromagnetic coupling interaction between two Mn(III) centers (J = -52 cm(-1)), with the effective magnetic moment (mu(eff)) increasing from 0.85 mu(B) at 2.0 K to 4.86 mu(B) at 300 K. The dianionic manganese(II) thiolate complexes [Mn(S,S-C(6)H(3)-R)(2)](2-) [R = H (3a), Me (3b)] were isolated upon the addition of [BH(4)](-) into complexes 1a and 1b or complexes 2a and 2b, respectively. The anionic mononuclear {Mn(NO)}(5) thiolatonitrosylmanganese complexes [(NO)Mn(S,S-C(6)H(3)-R)(2)](-) [R = H (4a), Me (4b)] were obtained from the reaction of NO(g) with the anionic complexes 1a and 1b, respectively, and the subsequent reduction of complexes 4a and 4b yielded the mononuclear {Mn(NO)}(6) [(NO)Mn(S,S-C(6)H(3)-R)(2)](2-) [R = H (5a), Me (5b)]. X-ray structural data, magnetic susceptibility measurement, and magnetic fitting results imply that the electronic structure of complex 4a is best described as a resonance hybrid of [(L)(L)Mn(III)(NO(*))](-) and [(L)(L(*))Mn(III)(NO(-))](-) (L = 1,2-benzenedithiolate) electronic arrangements in a square-pyramidal ligand field. The lower IR v(NO) stretching frequency of complex 5a, compared to that of complex 4a (shifting from 1729 cm(-1) in 4a to 1651 cm(-1) in 5a), supports that one-electron reduction occurs in the {(L)(L(*))Mn(III)} core upon reduction of complex 4a.  相似文献

Binuclear manganese complexes Mn2(III/IV)(dtsalpn)2DCBI, 1, Mn2(III/III)(dtsalpn)2HDCBI, 2, containing the ligand dicarboxyimidazole (DCBI) have been prepared in order to address the issue of imidazole bridged and ferromagnetically coupled Mn sites in high oxidation states of the OEC in Photosystem II (PS II). Temperature dependent magnetic susceptibility studies of 1 indicates that the interaction between the two Mn(III)/Mn(IV) ions is ferromagnetic (J = +1.4 cm(-1)). Variable temperature EPR spectra of 1 shows that a g = 2 multiline is as an excited state signal corresponding to S = 1/2.  相似文献

Two heterometallic polymers containing cations [Cu(en)2]2+ and either the [Mn(mal)2(H2O)2]2- (1) or [Mn2(succ)2Cl2]n2n- (2) anions (mal=malonate and succ=succinate) were investigated by X-ray crystallography, high-field electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Magnetic susceptibility and EPR spectra characteristic of antiferromagnetically coupled Mn2+-Mn2+ pairs were observed in 2, and the exchange integral J=31 cm(-1) (H=JS1S2) as well as the zero-field-splitting parameter D=-3.046 cm(-1) in the triplet state of the dimanganese entity was determined.  相似文献

The dimeric complex [Mn(III)(2)(Naphth-sao)(2)(Naphth-saoH)(2)(MeOH)(2)]·4MeOH (1·4MeOH), acts as a simple model complex with which to examine the magneto-structural relationship in polymetallic, oxime-bridged Mn(III) complexes. Dc magnetic susceptibility studies reveal that ferromagnetic exchange is mediated through the heavily twisted Mn-O-N-Mn moiety (J = +1.24 cm(-1)) with magnetisation measurements at low temperatures and high fields suggesting significant anisotropy. Simulations of high field, high frequency EPR data reveal a single ion anisotropy, D((Mn(III))) = -3.94 cm(-1). Theoretical studies on simplified model complexes of 1 reveal that calculated values of the exchange coupling and the anisotropy are in excellent agreement with experiment, with the weak ferromagnetism resulting from an accidental orthogonality between the Mn-N-O plane of the first Mn(III) ion and the Jahn-Teller axis of the second Mn(III) ion.  相似文献

New heterobimetallic tetranuclear complexes of formula [Fe(III){B(pz)(4)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Mn(II)(bpy)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·CH(3)CN (1), [Fe(III){HB(pz)(3)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Ni(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (2a), [Fe(III){B(pz)(4)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Ni(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (2b), [Fe(III){HB(pz)(3)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Co(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (3a), and [Fe(III){B(pz)(4)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Co(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (3b), [HB(pz)(3)(-) = hydrotris(1-pyrazolyl)borate, B(Pz)(4)(-) = tetrakis(1-pyrazolyl)borate, dmphen = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine] have been synthesized and structurally and magnetically characterized. Complexes 1-3b have been prepared by following a rational route based on the self-assembly of the tricyanometalate precursor fac-[Fe(III)(L)(CN)(3)](-) (L = tridentate anionic ligand) and cationic preformed complexes [M(II)(L')(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) (L' = bidentate α-diimine type ligand), this last species having four blocked coordination sites and two labile ones located in cis positions. The structures of 1-3b consist of cationic tetranuclear Fe(III)(2)M(II)(2) square complexes [M = Mn (1), Ni (2a and 2b), Co (3a and 3b)] where corners are defined by the metal ions and the edges by the Fe-CN-M units. The charge is balanced by free perchlorate anions. The [Fe(L)(CN)(3)](-) complex in 1-3b acts as a ligand through two cyanide groups toward two divalent metal complexes. The magnetic properties of 1-3b have been investigated in the temperature range 2-300 K. A moderately strong antiferromagnetic interaction between the low-spin Fe(III) (S = 1/2) and high-spin Mn(II) (S = 5/2) ions has been found for 1 leading to an S = 4 ground state (J(1) = -6.2 and J(2) = -2.7 cm(-1)), whereas a moderately strong ferromagnetic interaction between the low-spin Fe(III) (S = 1/2) and high-spin Ni(II) (S = 1) and Co(II) (S = 3/2) ions has been found for complexes 2a-3b with S = 3 (2a and 2b) and S = 4 (3a and 3b) ground spin states [J(1) = +21.4 cm(-1) and J(2) = +19.4 cm(-1) (2a); J(1) = +17.0 cm(-1) and J(2) = +12.5 cm(-1) (2b); J(1) = +5.4 cm(-1) and J(2) = +11.1 cm(-1) (3a); J(1) = +8.1 cm(-1) and J(2) = +11.0 cm(-1) (3b)] [the exchange Hamiltonian being of the type H? = -J(S?(i)·S?(j))]. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been used to substantiate the nature and magnitude of the exchange magnetic coupling observed in 1-3b and also to analyze the dependence of the exchange magnetic coupling on the structural parameters of the Fe-C-N-M skeleton.  相似文献

Two mononuclear copper(II) complexes with the unsymmetrical tridentate ligand 2-[((imidazol-2-ylmethylidene)amino)ethyl]pyridine (HL), [Cu(HL)(H2O)](ClO4)2.2H2O (1) and [Cu(HL)Cl2] (2), have been prepared and characterized. The X-ray analysis of 2 revealed that the copper(II) ion assumes a pentacoordinated square pyramidal geometry with an N3Cl2 donor set. When 1 and 2 are treated with an equimolecular amount of potassium hydroxide, the deprotonation of the imidazole moiety promotes a self-assembled process, by coordination of the imidazolate nitrogen atom to a Cu(II) center of an adjacent unit, leading to the polynuclear complexes [[Cu(L)(H2O)](ClO4)]n (3) and [[Cu(L)Cl].2H2O]n (4). Variable-temperature magnetic data are well reproduced for one-dimensional infinite regular chain systems with J = -60.3 cm(-1) and g = 2.02 for 3 and J = -69.5 cm(-1) and g = 2.06, for 4. When 1 is used as a "ligand complex" for [M(hfac)2] (M = Cu(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Zn(II)) in a basic medium, only the imidazolate-bridged trinuclear complexes [Cu(L)(hfac)M(hfac)2Cu(hfac)(L)] (M = Zn(II), Cu(II)) (5, 6) can be isolated. Nevertheless, the analogous complex containing Mn(II) as the central metal (7) can be prepared from the precursor [Cu(HL)Cl2] (2). All the trinuclear complexes are isostructural. The structures of 5 and 6 have been solved by X-ray crystallographic methods and consist of well-isolated molecules with Ci symmetry, the center of symmetry being located at the central metal. Thus, the copper(II) fragments are in trans positions, leading to a linear conformation. The magnetic susceptibility data (2-300 K), which reveal the occurrence of antiferromagnetic interactions between copper(II) ions and the central metal, were quantitatively analyzed for symmetrical three-spin systems to give the coupling parameters JCuCu = -37.2 and JCuMn = -3.7 cm(-1) with D = +/-0.4 cm(-1) for 6 and 7, respectively. These magnetic behaviors are compared with those for analogous systems and discussed on the basis of a localized-orbital model of exchange interactions.  相似文献

All the complexes are characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H NMR, IR, electronic, EPR spectral and cyclic voltammetric studies. An octahedral geometry was assigned for Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes and tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. The biological actions of the ligand and complexes have been screened in vitro against many bacteria and pathogenic fungi to study their comparative capacity to inhibit the growth.  相似文献
