Control of soliton characteristics of the condensate by an arbitrary x-dependent external potential 下载免费PDF全文
This paper presents a family of soliton solutions of the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrdinger equation which describes the dynamics of the dark solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates with an arbitrary x-dependent external potential.The obtained results show that the external potential has an important effect on the dark soliton dynamical characteristics of the condensates.The amplitude,width,and velocity of the output soliton are relative to the source position of the external potential.The smaller the amplitude of the soliton is,the narrower its width is,and the slower the soliton propagates.The collision of two dark solitons is nearly elastic. 相似文献

Ion acoustic dressed solitons in a three component plasma consisting of cold ions, hot electrons and positrons are studied. Using reductive perturbation method, Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation and a linear inhomogeneous equation, governing respectively the evolution of first and second order potentials are derived for the system. Renormalization procedure of Kodama and Taniuti is used to obtain nonsecular solutions of these coupled equations. It is found that electron–positron–ion plasma system supports only compressive solitons. For a given amplitude of soliton on increasing the positron concentration, velocity of the KdV as well as dressed soliton increases. For any arbitrary values of soliton's amplitude and positron concentration, velocity of the dressed soliton is found to be larger than that of the KdV soliton. For small amplitude of solitons, the width of KdV as well as dressed soliton decreases as positron concentration increases and width of dressed soliton is found to be larger than that of the KdV soliton. However, for a large value of soliton's amplitude as concentration of positrons increases, instead of decreasing width of dressed soliton starts to increase. 相似文献

We discuss the nonlinear Schr6dinger equation with variable coefficients in 21) graded-index waveguides with different distributed transverse diffractions and obtain exact bright and dark soliton solutions. Based on these solutions, we mainly investigate the dynamical behaviors of solitons in three different diffraction decreasing waveguides with the hyperbolic, Gaussian and Logarithmic profiles. Results indicate that for the same parameters, the amplitude of bright solitons in the Logarithmic profile and the amplitude of dark solitons in the Gaussian profile are biggest respectively, and the amplitude in the hyperbolic profile is smallest, while the width of solitons has the opposite case. 相似文献

用分步傅里叶变换法求解二阶孤子传输的非线性薛定谔方程, 得到了在此条件下孤子传输的数值图形, 发现二阶孤子在传输中被压缩, 幅值振荡变化。2个二阶孤子在传输过程中没有出现象2个一阶孤子那样周期性碰撞, 但2个二阶孤子时间间隔较小时, 随传输距离在2个二阶孤子中间周期性地衍生出第3个孤子。研究证明:二阶孤子的传输具有与一阶孤子明显不同的特征。 相似文献

A set of exact one-dimensional solutions to coupled nonlinear equations describing the propagation of a relativistic ultrashort circularly polarized laser pulse in a cold collisionless and bounded plasma where electrons have an initial velocity in the laser propagating direction is presented. The solutions investigated here are in the form of quickly moving envelop solitons at a propagation velocity comparable to the light speed. The features of solitons in both underdense and overdense plasmas with electrons having different given initial velocities in the laser propagating direction
are described. It is found that the amplitude of solitons is larger and soliton width shorter in plasmas where electrons have a larger initial velocity. In overdense plasmas, soliton duration is shorter, the amplitude higher than that in underdense plasmas where electrons have the same initial

The fundamental and second order strongly nonlocal solitons of the
nonlocal nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equation for several types of
nonlocal responses are calculated by Ritz's variational method. For
a specific type of nonlocal response, the solutions of the strongly
nonlocal solitons with the same beam width but different degrees of
nonlocality are identical except for an amplitude factor. For a
nonlocal case where the nonlocal response function decays in direct
proportion to the $m$th power of the distance near the source point,
the power and the phase constant of the strongly nonlocal soliton are

Modified Korteweg-deVries equation (mK-dV), which governs the behavior of ion acoustic solitons in a relativistic warm plasma with density gradient, is derived. The electron inertia is also taken into account which is important when the streaming ions are present in the plasma. A solution of the mK-dV equation is obtained for the constant density gradient. Exact unified rational solutions describing a family of Peregrine solitons as well as related algebraic soliton pairs in either self-focusing or self-defocusing Kerr media are presented, with distinct defining regimes and an explicit relationship for those of opposite nonlinearity. The active role of the space–time correction effect that plays in these soliton species is highlighted, leading to unique dynamics such as the persistence of Peregrine solitons in a defocusing Kerr medium, the availability of giant peak amplitude for the bright–bright soliton pair, and the existence of so-called bright–dark soliton pair. The evolution dynamics of the algebraic two-soliton state toward a spliced single soliton is also discussed. 相似文献

研究了晶体损耗对屏蔽光伏空间孤子在加偏压的光伏光折变晶体中演化特性的影响.结果表明,损耗除了造成屏蔽光伏孤子光波振幅的减小外,还造成了孤子横截面的改变.对于明孤子,当入射波光强较低时,横截面随传播距离的增长而不断增大;而当入射波光强较高时,起初横截面不断压缩,而后再膨胀,并在某一传播距离上孤子横截面恢复到入射时的尺寸.对于暗孤子,不论入射光孤子光强的高低,横截面都随传播距离的增长而不断增大.虽然在传播距离足够短时,可以不考虑损耗的影响,但距离较大时,损耗将最终导致孤子崩溃.

基于包含自发拉曼散射和外电光调制效应的非自治非线性薛定谔方程,采用简单的变换方法,解析研究了三种非均匀系统中非自治孤子的管理和传输。结果发现,在非均匀的非线性渐增或色散渐减光纤系统中都存在精确的啁啾非自治孤子解,都可以实现孤子的放大和压缩,但具有不同的速度、频移和啁啾特性;而在非均匀的色散和非线性均渐减光纤系统中,可以支持无啁啾的非自治孤子,该孤子具有不变的脉宽和振幅以及振荡衰减的速度,孤子的频移仅由自发拉曼散射决定。同时,数值模拟结果进一步证实在三种非均匀管理系统中都可支持非自治孤子的传输。该研究结果为实际非均匀孤子管理系统中实现孤子的压缩和传输提供了理论依据。 相似文献

The nonlinear dust acoustic solitary waves in a magnetized dusty plasma with nonthermal ions and variable dust electric charge is studied analytically. Using reductive perturbation method the Zakharov‐Kuznetsov (ZK) equation is derived and effect of nonthermal coefficient, external magnetic field, and variable dust electric charge on the amplitude and width of soliton in dusty plasma is investigated. With increasing the rate of dust charge variation with respect of plasma potential, the amplitude of generated solitary waves in magnetized dusty plasma increases to a constant magnitude while its width decreases. Increasing the nonthermal ions coefficient leads to a noticeable decrease in the amplitude of solitons while the width of soliton increases. The amplitude of generated solitary waves in such a dusty plasma is independent of applied external magnetic field but we will have more localized solitons with increasing the external magnetic field strength. We investigate the temporal behavior of low-amplitude dark spatial solitons in biased centrosymmetric crystals with two-photon photorefractive effects. The expressions of time-dependent space-charge field and dynamical evolution equation are derived. The temporal behaviors of the intensity profiles and the intensity full width at half maximum (FWHM) of dark solitons are investigated by numerical method. The results indicate that a broad soliton is generated at the beginning, and as time evolves, the intensity width of solitons decrease monotonously to a minimum value toward steady state. Within the same propagation time, the higher the ratio of soliton peak intensity to the dark irradiation intensity is, the shorter the FWHM of dark solitons is. 相似文献
