The current article devoted on the new method for finding the exact solutions of some time‐fractional Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) type equations appearing in shallow water waves. We employ the new method here for time‐fractional equations viz. time‐fractional KdV‐Burgers and KdV‐mKdV equations for finding the exact solutions. We use here the fractional complex transform accompanied by properties of local fractional calculus for reduction of fractional partial differential equations to ordinary differential equations. The obtained results are demonstrated by graphs for the new solutions. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper presents numerical solutions for the space‐ and time‐fractional Korteweg–de Vries equation (KdV for short) using the variational iteration method. The space‐ and time‐fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. In this method, general Lagrange multipliers are introduced to construct correction functionals for the problems. The multipliers in the functionals can be identified optimally via variational theory. The iteration method, which produces the solutions in terms of convergent series with easily computable components, requiring no linearization or small perturbation. The numerical results show that the approach is easy to implement and accurate when applied to space‐ and time‐fractional KdV equations. The method introduces a promising tool for solving many space–time fractional partial differential equations. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 2007  相似文献

In the present paper, we study the orbital stability and instability of standing waves of the Klein-Gordon-Schrödinger system. Especially, we are interested in a standing wave which is expressed by the unique positive solution w1 to a certain scalar field equation. By utilizing the property of the positive solution w1, we can apply the general theory of Grillakis, Shatah and Strauss (1987) [11] and show the stability and instability of the standing wave.  相似文献

According to Maslov’s idea, many two-dimensional, quasilinear hyperbolic systems of partial differential equations admit only three types of singularities that are in general position and have the property of “structure self-similarity and stability.” Those are: shock waves, “narrow” solitons, and “square-root” point singularities (solitary vortices). Their propagation is described by an infinite chain of ordinary differential equations (ODE) that generalize the well-known Hugoniot conditions for shock waves. After some reasonable closure of the chain for the case of solitary vortices in the “shallow water” equations, we obtain a nonlinear system of sixteen ODE, which is exactly equivalent to the (linear) Hill equation with a periodic potential. This means that, in some approximations, the trajectory of a solitary vortex can be described by the Hill equation. This result can be used to predict the trajectory of the vortex center if we know its observable part. Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 112, No. 1, pp. 47–66.  相似文献

This paper investigates the orbital stability of solitary waves for the coupled Klein–Gordon–Zakharov (KGZ) equations where α ≠ 0. Firstly, we rewrite the coupled KGZ equations to obtain its Hamiltonian form. And then, we present a pair of sech‐type solutions of the coupled KGZ equations. Because the abstract orbital stability theory presented by Grillakis, Shatah, and Strauss (1987) cannot be applied directly, we can extend the abstract stability theory and use the detailed spectral analysis to obtain the stability of the solitary waves for the coupled KGZ equations. In our work, α = 1,β = 0 are advisable. Hence, we can also obtain the orbital stability of solitary waves for the classical KGZ equations which was studied by Chen. In this paper, we first introduced improved projective Riccati method by means of two simplified Riccati equations. Applying the improved method, we consider the general types of KdV and KdV–Burgers equations with nonlinear terms of any order. As a result, many explicit exact solutions, which contain new solitary wave solutions, periodic wave solutions and the combined formal solitary wave solutions are obtained. Some of them are found for the first time.  相似文献

In this paper, the modified fractional reduced differential transform method (MFRDTM) has been proposed and it is implemented for solving fractional KdV (Korteweg-de Vries) equations. The fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. In this paper, the reduced differential transform method is modified to be easily employed to solve wide kinds of nonlinear fractional differential equations. In this new approach, the nonlinear term is replaced by its Adomian polynomials. Thus the nonlinear initial-value problem can be easily solved with less computational effort. In order to show the power and effectiveness of the present modified method and to illustrate the pertinent features of the solutions, several fractional KdV equations with different types of nonlinearities are considered. The results reveal that the proposed method is very effective and simple for obtaining approximate solutions of fractional KdV equations.  相似文献

In this paper we give a sufficient condition for the exponential asymptotic behavior of solutions of a general class of linear fractional stochastic differential equations with time-varying delays. Our obtained results allow us to employ the theories developed for the deterministic systems and to illustrate this, some examples are provided.  相似文献

A new class of resonant dispersive shock waves was recently identified as solutions of the Kawahara equation— a Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) type nonlinear wave equation with third‐ and fifth‐order spatial derivatives— in the regime of nonconvex, linear dispersion. Linear resonance resulting from the third‐ and fifth‐order terms in the Kawahara equation was identified as the key ingredient for nonclassical dispersive shock wave solutions. Here, nonlinear wave (Whitham) modulation theory is used to construct approximate nonclassical traveling dispersive shock wave (TDSW) solutions of the fifth‐ order KdV equation without the third derivative term, hence without any linear resonance. A self‐similar, simple wave modulation solution of the fifth order, weakly nonlinear KdV–Whitham equations is obtained that matches a constant to a heteroclinic traveling wave via a partial dispersive shock wave so that the TDSW is interpreted as a nonlinear resonance. The modulation solution is compared with full numerical solutions, exhibiting excellent agreement. The TDSW is shown to be modulationally stable in the presence of sufficiently small third‐order dispersion. The Kawahara–Whitham modulation equations transition from hyperbolic to elliptic type for sufficiently large third‐order dispersion, which provides a possible route for the TDSW to exhibit modulational instability.  相似文献

The stability of periodic solutions of partial differential equations has been an area of increasing interest in the last decade. In this paper, we derive all periodic traveling wave solutions of the focusing and defocusing mKdV equations. We show that in the defocusing case all such solutions are orbitally stable with respect to subharmonic perturbations: perturbations that are periodic with period equal to an integer multiple of the period of the underlying solution. We do this by explicitly computing the spectrum and the corresponding eigenfunctions associated with the linear stability problem. Next, we bring into play different members of the mKdV hierarchy. Combining this with the spectral stability results allows for the construction of a Lyapunov function for the periodic traveling waves. Using the seminal results of Grillakis, Shatah, and Strauss, we are able to conclude orbital stability. In the focusing case, we show how instabilities arise.  相似文献

We study the linear stability of traveling wave solutions for the nonlinear wave equation and coupled nonlinear wave equations. It is shown that periodic waves of the dnoidal type are spectrally unstable with respect to co-periodic perturbations. Our arguments rely on a careful spectral analysis of various self-adjoint operators, both scalar and matrix and on instability index count theory for Hamiltonian systems.  相似文献

This paper is motivated by the stability problem of nonconstant periodic solutions of time‐periodic Lagrangian equations, like the swing and the elliptic Sitnikov problem. As a beginning step, we will study the linearized stability and instability of nonconstant periodic solutions that are bifurcated from those of autonomous Lagrangian equations. Applying the theory for Hill equations, we will establish a criterion for linearized stability. The criterion shows that the linearized stability depends on the temporal frequencies of the perturbed systems in a delicate way.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the spectral stability of spatially periodic traveling wave solutions of the generalized Korteweg–de Vries equation to long‐wavelength perturbations. Specifically, we extend the work of Bronski and Johnson by demonstrating that the homogenized system describing the mean behavior of a slow modulation (WKB) approximation of the solution correctly describes the linearized dispersion relation near zero frequency of the linearized equations about the background periodic wave. The latter has been shown by rigorous Evans function techniques to control the spectral stability near the origin, that is, stability to slow modulations of the underlying solution. In particular, through our derivation of the WKB approximation we generalize the modulation expansion of Whitham for the KdV to a more general class of equations which admit periodic waves with nonzero mean. As a consequence, we will show that, assuming a particular nondegeneracy condition, spectral stability near the origin is equivalent with the local well‐posedness of the Whitham system.  相似文献

In this paper, we further develop the local discontinuous Galerkin method to solve three classes of nonlinear wave equations formulated by the general KdV-Burgers type equations, the general fifth-order KdV type equations and the fully nonlinear K(n, n, n) equations, and prove their stability for these general classes of nonlinear equations. The schemes we present extend the previous work of Yan and Shu [30, 31] and of Levy, Shu and Yan [24] on local discontinuous Galerkin method solving partial differential equations with higher spatial derivatives. Numerical examples for nonlinear problems are shown to illustrate the accuracy and capability of the methods. The numerical experiments include stationary solitons, soliton interactions and oscillatory solitary wave solutions. The numerical experiments also include the compacton solutions of a generalized fifthorder KdV equation in which the highest order derivative term is nonlinear and the fully nonlinear K (n, n, n) equations.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the orbital instability for a specific class of periodic traveling wave solutions with the mean zero property and large spatial period related to the modified Camassa–Holm equation. These solutions, called snoidal waves, are written in terms of the Jacobi elliptic functions. To prove our result we use the abstract method of Grillakis, Shatah and Strauss [23], the Floquet theory for periodic eigenvalue problems and the n-gaps potentials theory of Dubrovin, Matveev and Novikov [19].  相似文献

We consider the initial-boundary value problem in a bounded domain with moving boundaries and nonhomogeneous boundary conditions for the coupled system of equations of Korteweg–de Vries (KdV)-type modelling strong interactions between internal solitary waves. Finite domains of wave propagation changing in time arise naturally in certain practical situations when the equations are used as a model for waves and a numerical scheme is needed. We prove a global existence and uniqueness for strong solutions for the coupled system of equations of KdV-type as well as the exponential decay of small solutions in asymptotically cylindrical domains. Finally, we present a numerical scheme based on semi-implicit finite differences and we give some examples to show the numerical effect of the moving boundaries for this kind of systems.  相似文献

In this paper we study, from a numerical point of view, some aspects of stability of solitary-wave solutions of the Bona–Smith systems of equations. These systems are a family of Boussinesq-type equations and were originally proposed for modelling the two-way propagation of one-dimensional long waves of small amplitude in an open channel of water of constant depth. We study numerically the behavior of solitary waves of these systems under small and large perturbations with the aim of illuminating their long-time asymptotic stability properties and, in the case of large perturbations, examining, among other, phenomena of possible blow-up of the perturbed solutions in finite time.   相似文献
