A new mode is designed with an emittance of 2.47 nm-rad at 3.0 GeV beam energy, lower than the nominal mode of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) storage ring. Details of the linear optics design and the nonlinear optimization are presented in this paper. During Phase I commissioning of the storage ring we tested the new optics mode and some expected results were obtained. After restoring the linear optics by means of the linear optics with closed orbit technique, the main parameters of the real machine agree well with the designed values and the injection efficiency and beam lifetime are acceptable.  相似文献

In the storage ring of the third generation light sources,nonlinear optimization is an indispensable course in order to obtain ample dynamic acceptances and to reach high injection efficiency and long beam lifetime,especially in a low emittance lattice.An improved optimization algorithm based on the single resonance approach,which takes relative weight and initial Harmonic Sextupole Integral Strength (HSIS) as search variables,is discussed in this paper.Applications of the improved method in several test lattices are presented.Detailed analysis of the storage ring of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) is particularly emphasized.Furthermore,cancellation of the driving terms is investigated to reveal the physical mechanism of the harmonic sextupole compensation.Sensitivity to the weight and the initial HSIS as well as dependence of the optimum solution on the convergent factor is analyzed.  相似文献

 研制了上海光源同步辐射空间干涉仪,用于储存环束团横向截面尺寸及发射度的精确测量。对干涉仪工艺设计中的光路参数、关键设备选型、数据处理方法及数据采集处理软件结构进行了分析讨论。结合束流实验完成了系统调试及运行参数优化,结果表明,CCD增益系数与曝光时间设置对测量精度有显著影响,增益系数设为0 dB,曝光时间设为200 ms时,随机测量误差可控制在μm量级。对上海光源储存环横向束斑尺寸进行了精确测量,结果表明:空间相干度曲线近似为高斯分布,可以采用单一空间频率的相干度测量值进行快速束斑尺寸计算;水平束斑尺寸实测值为52.4 μm,与理论值预期值53.0 μm相比,差异小于2%;系统测量误差约为5.5%,主要误差来源为相干度随机测量误差。  相似文献

Periodic magnetic structures (wigglers) have been successfully used for a long time for controlling beam parameters in charged-particle storage rings for various purposes (including the reduction of emittance). In this work, we optimize the optical functions of the storage ring gap into which a wiggler is installed for a more effective reduction of the emittance. Optimal solutions are obtained for the first time for FODOtype and theoretical minimum emittance (TME) structures. An original method is proposed for suppressing the contribution of the wiggler fields to the radiation excitation of the phase volume of the beam by modulating the field period along the wiggler axis.  相似文献

The Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) is a low emittance third-generation synchrotron radiation light source. Some optics parameters of the storage ring were measured when commissioning. This report presents the common methods for measuring some optics parameters of the storage ring, including the betatron tune, beta function, chromaticity, natural chromaticity and dispersion. The results and analysis of measurement for the optics parameters are given here, which are indispensable for the orbit correction of the accelerator and the nonlinear optimization.  相似文献

为了对衍射极限储存环的束流横向截面尺寸及发射度进行测量,设计了一套Kirkpatrick-Baez(KB)反射镜聚焦成像系统,并在上海光源(SSRF)储存环进行预制研究。该系统主体由两面垂直放置的KB反射镜组成,分别在水平及垂直方向对弯转磁铁光源点进行成像,系统工作在硬X射线波段,聚焦光斑被闪烁体X射线相机采集。对影响系统成像质量的像差和点扩散函数进行了计算。目前,实现了对束流的实时成像,可精确测量束流横向截面尺寸为75.9 μm(水平方向)和20.2 μm(垂直方向),系统稳定性(RMS)小于0.1 μm。  相似文献

I describe a scheme for selectively isolating high density low longitudinal emittance beam particles in a storage ring from the rest of the beam without emittance dilution. I discuss the general principle of the method, called longitudinal momentum mining, beam dynamics simulations and results of beam experiments. Multi-particle beam dynamics simulations applied to the Fermilab 8 GeV Recycler (a storage ring) convincingly validate the concepts and feasibility of the method, which I have demonstrated with beam experiments in the Recycler. 合肥先进光源(HALF)是我国规划建设的软X射线与VUV衍射极限储存环光源(DLSR)。如何有效地实现衍射极限束流发射度,是DLSR物理设计中的核心问题之一。基于束流发射度演化方程,针对HALF预研项目的储存环物理设计方案,计算了束内散射(IBS)效应带来的发射度增长,研究了DLSR中关键参数选择对IBS造成的发射度增长的影响。研究表明,在中低能DLSR物理设计中需要综合考虑储存环的周长、同步辐射阻尼时间等关键参数,以更好地抑制束流发射度的增长。在此研究基础上,通过综合考虑用户需求与储存环物理要求,提出了HALF当前工程项目的储存环物理设计方案。进一步综合应用束团拉伸、全耦合等措施后,更高效地抑制了HALF储存环内IBS造成的束流发射度增长。  相似文献

We propose a build to low-energy γ-ray beam line (SLEGS-Ⅰ) at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF). By Compton back scattering (BCS) of infrared or far-infrared laser lights from 3.5 GeV electrons circulating in the storage ring of SSRF, high intense quasi-monochromatic BCS γ-rays with high linear or circular polarization ranging 1-25MeV will be produced. It can be widely applied to fundamental researching fields of nuclear physics, nuclear astrophysics and related applications. In this paper, we briefly present the outline of BCS theory and the properties of BCS γ-ray with numerical compution based on the major parameters of SSRF storage ring.  相似文献

The TAC(Turkish Accelerator Center) project aims to build an accelerator center in Turkey. The first stage of the project is to construct an Infra-Red Free Electron Laser(IR-FEL) facility. The second stage is to build a synchrotron radiation facility named TURKAY, which is a third generation synchrotron radiation light source that aims to achieve a high brilliance photon beam from a low emittance electron beam at 3 Ge V. The electron beam parameters are highly dependent on the magnetic lattice of the storage ring. In this paper a low emittance storage ring for TURKAY is proposed and the beam dynamic properties of the magnetic lattice are investigated.  相似文献

Brightness is an important parameter for 3rd generation light source. Correcting the emittance coupling is a realistic way to increase brightness without any additional equipment in a machine under operation. The main sources of emittance coupling are betatron coupling and vertical dispersion. At the SSRF storage ring, tune split and LOCO are used to measure the respective betatron and emittance coupling. Both of these sources can be corrected by skew quadrupoles. By measuring the skew quadrupole-coupling response matrix, betatron coupling can be changed from 0.014% to 2%. But the vertical dispersion changes at the same time. LOCO can find the suitable setting to correct simultaneously the betatron coupling and vertical dispersion. The emittance coupling can be reduced to 0.17% by this method. More simulations show the potential for smaller emittance coupling if more skew quadrupoles are employed.  相似文献

We present two types of optics for the lattice of a compact storage ring for a Compton X-ray source. The optics design for different operation modes of the storage ring are discussed in detail. For the pulse mode optics, an IBS-suppression scheme is applied to optimize the optics for lower IBS emittance growth rate; as for the steady mode, the method to control momentum compact factor is adopted [Gladkikh P, Phys. There are 140 beam position monitors (BPMs) in the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) storage ring used for measuring the closed orbit. As the BPM pickup electrodes are assembled directly on the vacuum chamber, it is important to calibrate the electrical center offset of the BPM to an adjacent quadrupole magnetic center. A beam based alignment (BBA) method which varies individual quadrupole magnet strength and observes its effects on the orbit is used to measure the BPM offsets in both the horizontal and vertical planes. It is a completely automated technique with various data processing methods. There are several parameters such as the strength change of the correctors and the quadrupoles which should be chosen carefully in real measurement. After several rounds of BBA measurement and closed orbit correction, these offsets are set to an accuracy better than 10 μm. In this paper we present the method of beam based calibration of BPMs, the experimental results of the SSRF storage ring, and the error analysis.  相似文献

The feasibility of minimizing the radial emittance of a beam from a synchrotron radiation source (storage ring) is studied. It is shown that the emittance can be diminished by producing nonuniform fields in the magnetic storage ring.  相似文献
