We here comment on the approach for light propagation in the Fresnel region presented in the previous paper entitled “Light propagation in the Fresnel region – New numerical approach” [M. Sypek, Opt. Comm. 116 (1995) 43–48]. In that paper the verification examples were not sufficiently rigorous, and divided steps approach which was the major contribution introduced by the modified convolution method could not help to reduce the aliasing error for the large propagation range.  相似文献

In a recent paper [P.J. Colmenares and J.L. Paz, Opt. Commun. 284 (2011) 5171], analytical solutions of the optical Bloch equations are presented. This paper follows the same procedures as presented in the paper by the authors [H.R. Noh and W. Jhe, Opt. Commun. 283 (2010) 2353] but concludes that their results are substantially different from the results of the authors. We find that the discrepancy results from the wrong initial conditions employed by those authors for one of the Bloch vector components (w), whose initial value must be 1 not 0. We also find that if proper initial conditions are used, there are no discrepancies between the two results.  相似文献

Base on our preceding paper [H.Y. Fan, H.L. Lu, Opt. Commun. 258 (2006) 51] we find that there exists ABCD rule involved in the product of general SU(1,1) squeezing operators, which can be considered as the quantum optics countpart of the ABCD rule in classical optics. Both one- and two-mode cases are considered, especially, the ABCD theorem embodied in the Fresnel transformation of two-mode number state is exhibited.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that the discussion presented in [H.-E. Hwang, P. Han, Opt. In a recent paper [W. Liu, Y.B. Wang, Z.T. Jiang, Opt. Commun. 284, 3160 (2011)], a quantum private comparison (QPC) protocol based on W states was presented. Compared to the previous QPCs, the protocol is promising for that it can prevent the comparison result from revealing to the third party. However, this study point out that a flaw of information leak is existent in the protocol. And a new QPC which can avoid the flaw and has higher efficiency is proposed in this paper.  相似文献

Changes in the spectrum of light scattered by space-time fluctuating random media are investigated theoretically within the accuracy of the second-order Born approximation, as a continuation of the previous paper [Opt. Commun. 123 (1996) 234]. Effects of multiple scattering on the resultant field are manifested by a number of illustrative examples. It is shown, in particular, that the spectrum of the scattered light to be observed under practical circumstances is distorted by the process of multiple scattering. Comparison between spectra of both single and multiple scattering lights is also presented in the framework of the dynamic scattering.  相似文献

In a recent paper [Z.J. Zhang et al., Opt. Commun. 269 (2007) 418], a protocol of multiparty quantum secret sharing was presented. We study the security of this protocol and found that it is not secure for a dishonest agent Charlie, who can illegally elicit half of Alice’s secret message by himself. According to Fan-Hu's formalism (Fan Hong-Yi and Hu Li-Yun 2009 Opt. Commun. bf282 3734) that the tomogram of quantum states can be considered as the module-square of the state wave function in the intermediate coordinate-momentum representation which is just the eigenvector of the Fresnel quadrature phase, we derive a new theorem for calculating quantum tomogram of density operator, i.e., the tomogram of a density operator ρ is equal to the marginal integration of the classical Weyl correspondence function of F+ρF, where F is the Fresnel operator. Applications of this theorem to evaluating the tomogram of optical chaotic field and squeezed chaotic optical field are presented.  相似文献

We proposed in a previous paper [J.-M. Tualle, E. Tinet, Opt. Commun. 228 (2003) 33] a modified radiative transfer equation to describe radiative transfer in a medium with a spatially varying refractive index. The present paper is devoted to the demonstration that this equation perfectly works in the non-absorbing/non-scattering limit, what was contested by Martí-López and coworkers [L. Martí-López, J. Bouza-Domínguez, R.A. Martínez-Celorio, J.C. Hebden, Opt. Commun. 266 (2006) 44]. The assertion that this equation would imply a zero divergence of the rays is also commented.  相似文献

Commun. 281 (2008) 4553] pointed out that the multiparty quantum secret sharing protocol [Zhan-jun Zhang, Gan Gao, Xin Wang, Lian-fang Han, Shou-hua Shi, Opt. Commun. 269 (2007) 418] is not secure and proposed an improved three-party quantum secret sharing protocol. In this paper, we study the security of the improved three-party quantum secret sharing protocol and find that it is still not secure. We present in this note the analytical solution of the optical Bloch equations for different scenarios of the parameter space. Our method partially follows the reported by H-R. Noh and W. Jhe [Opt. Commun. 283, (2010) 2353]. However, it differs substantially with the analytical solution reported by these authors. We use the exact solution provided by numerical standard algorithms as a pattern for comparison purposes. We find out a perfect matching of our solution and the numerical one.  相似文献

The propagation behavior and M 2-factor of truncated cosh-Gaussian (ChG) beams are studied by using the asymptotic approach. Detailed numerical results are given to illustrate the dependence of M 2-factor on the beam decentered parameter , truncation fraction p and power fraction f. Our results are self-consistent and reduce to those of Pare and Belanger [Opt. Commun. 123, p. 679 (1996a); Proc. SPIE 2870, p. 104 (1996b)]. The advantage of the approach is shown, and the problems introduced by the hard-aperture diffraction and the approach used are discussed.  相似文献

Baida and Van Labeke recently proposed a structure that exhibits a supertransmission of light through an array of nanometric coaxial apertures in a metallic film that has been named an annular aperture array (AAA) [Opt. Commun. 209, 17 (2002); Phys. Rev. B 67, 155314 (2003); J. Microsc. 213, 140 (2003)]. We present the first experimental study, to our knowledge, of an AAA structure in the visible region. For technological reasons, the structure under study does not produce a supertransmission of 80% as in Baida and Van Labeke [Opt. Commun. 209, 17 (2002)]. We built the nanostructure and experimentally recorded its far-field spectral response. This transmission shows only one broad band with a maximum around lambda = 700 nm, giving a maximum efficiency around 17%. A finite-difference time-domain simulation reproduces quite well the obtained transmission spectrum.  相似文献
